YGO gets two slots now while KWB still denies CN any season of Pokemon. Pokemon always worked so well on CN it's a shame that its still off the network. I'm sure when KWB weekdays goes off they'll be able to air Pokemon again but the summer schedule could use something... shall we say... less tired out at the moment.

Wanna trade houses? xD All the Pokemon Chronicles and original you could want everyday. While I take advantage of Adult Swim on your end x3
No? Well, can't blame me for trying now can you.

Here's a deal - I'll trade you the encore portion of Adult Swim for all the Pokemon you got... and I'll throw in 3/4 of the Krypto showings and all of Ozzy and Drix for free. It's a bargain!
Er...
Anyway, I agree with Sketch - it's just plain stupid of Kids' WB! to deny CN Pokemon while they just continually run Advanced Challenge episodes, keeping everyone from seeing anything pre-Advanced. I really wanted to start recording the Indigo and Orange Island eps and I almost wouldn't mind seeing the *gasp* Johto Journeys/League Champions episodes again. At any rate, Kids' WB! darn well better give this up come January when their weekday block goes kablooey.

Woah woah! Take those out and you got a deal xD
(I have nothing further to say of any worth on this topic so I shan't return. Sorry if my ramblings bug anyone.)

It really is a shame that CN won't get to air Pokemon Advance.
For all the people who lost interest in the show and said it went downhill after the 1st season, Pokemon Advance is definitely the season to bring them back into the show.
Everything that made the 1st season great has returned in Pokemon Advance. It's also great to see how much Ash has progressed as a trainer. He's no longer the noobish silly boy he was in the original series, he's now far more fierce and aggressive than he ever was before.
We even have a really cute 10 year old girl who has the body of a 15 year old, and that should be enough fanservice for some people. (who is a VAST improvement over Misty I might add) Include that with the fact that she's a co-star of the show, it makes it even better since now Ash has to share the spotlight with May, unlike the previous series where the only main character was Ash.
Pokemon Advance is a great series, too bad so many people stopped watching the show and never came back to enjoy pokemon now that it's in it's prime again.

I really wish CN would bring back Pokemon too. I loved watching the old epsiodes every night! Plus, I don't want to buy the DVDs right now. I could care less if they air Orange Islands, Johto, Advance, or the movies. I want the good ol' Kanto League!

I remember the time in 2003 when there was nothing on CN than Pokemon and Jackie Chan Adventures. If they're gonna digest that still, no reason why they shouldn't re - run CCs.

Some CC's don't get ratings... Pokemon does most of the time still. JCA... not even a factor. Though it's nice that KWB brought back and kicked Mucha Lucha to the curb.

May's become a competent character in her own right, but make no mistake, she is NOT Misty, and never will be. Aside from that, I agree with you about Advance.

it would be so nice if CN could get pokemon back and air it straight from start to end but knowing them when they get the show back the episodes will just start up from where they left off so my dream could take awhile to happen

That is true, Nate. Cartoon Network needs to function on its own; disband themselves from Kids' WB! as much as possible. If this means getting rid of most of their WB imports, except for the shows they co-produced and the shows that are actually decent, than I say "go for it."
Even though I may think that most (not all) shows on Kids' WB! (or previously so) are decent, most of them are just there. Cartoon Network's paying to air the series out of their own pocket. If they'd just realize that some of the shows don't bring strong STRONG ratings, as could a show that they could acquire on their own, then they'd let go of their ties with the failing brand (or regressing brand) and acquire shows for themselves with the money they'd otherwise be spending acquiring shows from Kids' WB!. It's not necessary for Cartoon Network to acquire failing brands like Astro Boy and Jackie Chan Adventures on their own dime, just because it's from a partner.
Even though Cartoon Network has a large budget, they'd have even more money to use on original projects like Foster's and IGPX if they'd stop purchasing shows that are already on or have already aired on another network. Cartoon Network should stand out on it's own right, instead of being Kids' WB!'s puppet. After all, who's advertising for whom? Cartoon Network shows ads with the Kids' WB! logo in them every now and again. The only cross-promotion you'll see for Cartoon Network on Kids' WB! is on The Batman's credits.

that pretty much says it. what i wanted to say with alot more fancier words:anime: . great post and words Toon hopefully CN will see this and benefit from it. even if they do look at the post i doubt they think twice about it. They need to listen to fans.

On occasion, they should try. After all, there are those crazy fans, the ones who want to drive the companies and channels to extremes that are absurd. EDIT - I've seen a good number of those in my day.
May's become a competent character in her own right, but make no mistake, she is NOT Misty, and never will be.Which is GOOD.

Well, CN is airing the movies (so far, the only ones they haven't aired are Pokemon Heroes and the first TV Special, Mewtwo Returns), so that's better than nothing.
I really think CN should try to pick up Pokemon Chronicles, the series of undubbed side stories that's currently airing on Toonami UK. Kids' WB! didn't list the show on its Fall 2005 schedule, and I doubt 4Kids TV! would have room to air it (especially if they want to air that new Yu-Gi-Oh! series). Really, CN would be the best place for it. Air it once a week (since it's only a 22-episode series) on the Saturday Miguzi or something.

I would actually watch Cartoon Network if they started airing it either with the very begining or the start of Johto, since I stopped watching about two episodes into Johto, I don't know why. I would really like to see all those episodes I missed.

Undubbed? Pokemon Chronicles in the UK has an American dub :-S

Yeah, the dub is just as 4Kids as ever, with more changes than One Piece in the Brock episode -_-

I meant that Pokemon Chronciles consists of episodes that had previously not been dubbed before now. Like the Raikou special or the Winter Vacation episodes, both of which should have been released years ago.
Yeah, the dub is just as 4Kids as ever, with more changes than One Piece in the Brock episode -_-
Actually, I'd think the Raikou special has more changes, with just about all the characters having their names changed, Bashou being turned from a man into a woman, and the entire ending of the special cut out.

Pokemon is alright, but they can't play it FOREVER. It needs to get into rotation to keep it from being overkilled. I don't know if replacing it with Yu-Gi-Oh is the solution, but they probably don't want to aliente the anime fans by popping in Scooby-Doo in that time slot.
Freedom Fighter

I also think Pokémon needs to come back to CN, even if in a limited capacity. Just to appease all of the older fans who've been there from the start. Getting the Kanto and Orange Island episodes may be a stretch... the airing rights have probably long expired. And that's a shame, because finding VHS/DVDs of those are hard, too... and even then, most of us don't want to shell out money to buy them. Johto's hit and miss, with most of the good episodes coming in gym match battles and any episode with Ash's Chikorita doing something meaningful in it. Even if they just pick up Advanced/Advanced Challenge after WB's weekday lineup disappears at the end of this year, that would be something.
And I'm glad May isn't Misty. If she was, then we'd all be complaining how much of a bad clone she is to the original, and we'd all want Misty back even more. May's a drastically different character than Misty, and that's one of the reasons 'Advanced' has brought a little freshness back to the series. That, and the Pokémon contests.
Besides... I love 'em both! :anime:

I only saw the final Raikou one, so I can't comment on that one, but the Brock one missed out the whole point of the story basically! Brock only gave his Onix to Forrest, Flint's new girlfriend is now his old wife, amd it just feels really really weird!
It really must be done by the One Piece team -_-

Um...Mizuho isn't his "new girlfriend." She's his wife and Takeshi's mom, both in the Japanese version and in the English version.
Flint telling Ash that Brock's mom died in "Showdown in Pewter City" was a dub-created error.

really? I thought it made sense since lead characters normally have one parent or none living  what really happened to her?

Originally, she left home, just like Brock's dad. But I guess 4Kids didn't like the idea of Brock having TWO deadbeat parents, so they decided to kill one of them off.
Of course, back then, they had no idea that Japan was going to create an episode featuring the character that they had killed off some six years later.

well, the only way pokemon could come back is if miguzi weekends is canned and only either takes off an hour of camp cartoon or when kwb weekdays is off in 2006

my op-in-e-onThat's a great idea. Pokemon fans would sth up and Miguzi wouldn't overkill shows. And it could be followed by Megas XLR.

Yes, if it had more episodes like Pokemon, but it doesn't and that's why airing it every day on Miguzi killed it.
I'm not saying I don't like Megas because of quantity of episodes, but just don't think overkilling a show like that - or any show no matter how good every day is a good idea. If it was aired weekly it would still be on CN.
Sketch
06-17-2005, 04:13 PM
Airing Megas on weekdays didn't kill it. Teen Titans hit it big when CN gave it two slots on weekdays airing a different episode (in order so you had to catch both) when it only had 24 episodes. Megas had 26 with a daily slot. That wasn't too much. Kids just don't like Megas. It should have stayed on Toonami. Now it's best hope for a return is late on Friday nights or a random slot on weekends. But it's not even on the schedule now so... dang. Megas should at least be on weekend Miguzi but like I already said... kids don't like it much. So they really should have put Megas at 9:30PM or 10PM (with TT moved to 9:30PM to give Megas a bumper of TT and DBGT (now DBZ uncut). But it's a lost cause now. Hopefully we'll get some killer DVD's someday.
Pokemon could defenently work on Miguzi. Replace YGO GX in January with Pokemon Advance CN premieres (there'd be enough for probably a two month run if it's just on weekdays and not on Saturday and Sunday).
As for overplaying shows... CN and Miguzi especially will probably never stop doing that. Their motto is... why air something else when we could air Teen Titans and get better ratings.
