IIRC, this is a two part episode.

The first ending was great - "I poisoned the hot dogs..." :D The Hobo Zoo really added on to it in a good way. The Married News Team was the best part though, as usual. Notice the guy's penciled in goatee.

How much white and blue makeup do you think they needed for the closeup shots of Tom eating?

Which is indeed why there's two talkbacks this week.

eh this episode wasn't that great IMHO

But I LOVED the spin doctors/jam band parody. I saw them last friday at a free show, (apparently they are trying to make some kind of comeback), aside from being much more clean shaven the lead singer still looked like Odenkirk in the music video.

That little "featured music" segment was so wrong and yet so accurate it almost wasn't parody.

Last week, minds were scarred and Tom was welcomed into the [as] pantheon for real with the usual affection, hatred and sheer F'n disbeleif that we saw anything like "Porkin' With The Peters," ever.

Speaking of horrible things, Tom's "gentlman's perm" killed a little of my soul to look at. Not as much as the Mayor busting his Fabulous Baker Boys riffs in a way that poisons the spirit.

And hey, Fred Willard. Alas he didn't ever say "HEY, WHA' HAPPENED!?" But it's a small price to pay, because no one does smarmy like him. Or references Glengarry Glen Ross with as much skill.

Things I didn't ever need to see, #215: Tom's cheese-fry eating mouth. I so disgusting, it makes people want to vomit. Out of their asses.

Married News Team! This episode has everything except a toll-free suicide hotline. :) Oh yeah, and "Grab a Dog" makes me very damn glad it's not 1994 anymore.

Nice fake ending there with the Mayor poisoning everyone (or maybe not) and the whole thing collpasing into the bizarre-ass Hobo Zoo song. This was another "Tom fails spectacularly," kind of plot but it felt less repettive, mostly because they brought the Mayor's lunacy in and exactly the right moment and went for "Pioneer Island" esque sorta madness. Good Job, Tom. A

Not as good as last week (which was probably the best), but a good one to go out on.

Seeing Fred Willard is always neat (he was used good), and the ending was the highlight.

Oops, didn`t see that, it was even below most of saturday`s talkbacks.

Haha not bad. Tom eating those cheese fries was so gross but with the "photocopy effect" used in live action, I couldn't help but examine. Bum Town is awesome and I love how Tom held all of them in his house. :D And yeah the ending was very funny.

1 More Season of Tom when you can please. ;)

Loved the ending, but everything else was decent too for the most part.

A lot better than Robot Chicken tonight, that's for sure.

This was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen on television since... ever was even a part of this post itself.

One thing I forgot to say:

During that "Build your own town" video thingy, I kept waiting for some disembodied voice to say "Warning: Incoming Game! Warning: Incoming Game!"

Yea... I thought this was a pretty bad episode, even for TGTTM standards. With this and RC's episode, a dull night on AS. Nothing really entertaining, using Fred Willard was the highlight of the episode for me.

One good thing about this episode:No Joy

Another good thing about this episode:The line at the end "I poisoned the hotdogs." Though, I thought it would have been better if they just ended the episode on that line instead of going back and saying it just put them to sleep.

I liked this episode a lot, but thought they didn't use Fred Willard nearly enough. I think the episode could have been a whole lot better if he had some better material to work with.

So, is the future of Tom Goes to the Mayor up in the air right now? Are we going to have another situation like the Venture Brothers where we have to wait for WS to analyze numbers before we get any word on the show's future?

Tom not getting renewed would be a real pity. It had its ups and downs, but overall was hilarious. As to last night's episode, I agree that it should have ended on "I poisoned the hot dogs." But maybe they had to add the sleep line because there will be more Tom?! (One can hope.) (^_*)

You're all expecting me to start dancing.

I won't. Instead, I just want to say that if they learned anything from Tom, their next show should be genius. Tom had a lot of good ideas, but also a lot of bad ones. So I just hope their sophmoric effort isn't as well, sophmoric as Tom tended to be.

That interview was clearly a scripted piece. Listen to it again, it's so over the top it's ridiculous. That's why we deleted the thread you posted about it.
