This is some kind of documentary thing, I'm guessing.

this isn't very animated
lols for:
winking dog
random singing
we got the bloom
the cheese fry eating scene!
zynx!
not going to be put on television :p
You know, Sealab often did "look behind the scenes" shows, but they were nothing like this. And when I say that I mean they never came off as an "LSD chased with hard wood grain alcohol fueled journey into the mouth of Hell kinda way."
I'm not really gonna rate this one, because it's not technically a Tom episode. . .I'm not sure just what the damn thing is, except totally and horribly weird in a way that makes me feel somewhat unclean.
I can't really say much about it, as that would require me to make sense out of it. . .and we all know that ain't gonna happen anytime soon. I'd have been really annoyed had they run this episode around mid-season (the era of "Vehicular Manslaughter," which was kind of a low point for me) and oh my GOD THE CHEESE FRY SHOT IS EXPLAINED!!! NOOOOO!!!!
Excellent and curiously informative episode, a lot like SGC2C's "Table Read," if "Table Read" was a crazed granny on drugs crawling up your leg with a large knife in her teeth. Can't really rate it, but they seemed to be having a lot of fun. . .and except for the cheese-fry thing, it was infectious.
I guess in review I'll laud Tom for finding it's voice and pushing hard against the boundaries of logic, good taste and standards in ways equalling David Lynch and John Water's two-headed love child. I know it's not been to all tastes (and sometimes not even mind) but they've sold me. I'll be back next season.
A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Except for the Cheese Fries bit, this was awesome. I was wondering how they animated the paper-shots, and now I know. Gotta love how they celebrated getting Jeff Goldblum.

I like TGTTM, I really do.
...But that was horrid garbage, and I never want to see again. Something about it just irked me, perhaps it was the freaking title cards popping up every 30 seconds...but not even the married news team could make me smile in that 15 minutes.
Gutsy thing to do on-air, atleast humor wise...but I found most of it garbled nonsense that wasted 15 minutes of my time. Even though...you know...I wasn't going to do anything with that 15 minutes anyway. =/

OH GOD
JOY IS REALAgreed.
OH GOD
JOY IS REALAnd apparently has black hair (though it's likely a wig like pretty much everyone else on the show). I always pictured her as a blonde for some reason.

I feel sorry for the (seemingly) foreign custodians and technicians of the studio, seeing all these Americans prance around eating cheese fries and wearing strange clothing.
The title cards were the best part.

Granted it was only a second long shot of her, but she looks ALOT better in real life. BUT that probably has something to do with the pseudo-rotocasting making everyone look bad, AND, of course, Joy being an imaginery character and her actor hopefully being a much better person (and probably faked the way she sounds on the show too).
It wasn't really enough to be interesting for a full 15 minute episode (WELL, 8 minutes and commercials) but most behind-the-scenes of most stuff aren't really that funny so I didn't go into it expecting much. Ironic; it was more of an interesting thing than a funny thing, even if it couldn't last 8 minutes. The only really funny part was the end with the staged sketch where they say it'll never get on TV.

Alright...
Normally here's where I'd make a remark akin to TGTTM as being like watching a train wreck in slow motion, complete with ruptured tanker cars spiewing anhydrus fertilizer, benzene and sulphur.
However, I'm going to have to give Tim and Eric credit for attempting to do a behind-the-scenes mockumentary of the show. Showing the efforts put behind producing a show is always interesting, as you get to put faces to the voices and names of crew mentioned in the credits. Still, one wonders how much of that was real and how much was scripted. Especially the end with Tim and Eric screaming at the editor/documentarian about how they can't show 90% or so of what they had prepared and them doing that incipid "Ring-a-ding-ding" song that the Mayor and Ian Black did in "Vehicular Manslaughter."
So, A for effort, C- for execution (not a fan of the show, but I am a fan of mockumentaries).

Ah, didn't catch that. I was busy crushing the rebelion with waves of Imperial stormtroopers. (As I've said before, I leave Tom on as background noise.)

I like to think the color Joy's hair would be filth if it were a color.

I agree, I liked the behind the scenes look, IMO I prefer it much more to that SGC2C episode, especially how they took a more comical take on it. That's cool how they use a lot of back screens to help make the show, it seems like a fun show to make.
BTW, here's the lady who does Joy's voice http://www.tvtome.com/tvtome/servlet/PersonDetail/personid-94200
That is so damn weird and unexpected (she's cute. :))
Also, Sara Silverman wearing the fat suit was pretty funny too. :)
Like I said in the talk back for Vice Mayor, if it takes awhile, that's fine, but....
MORE TOM PLEASE!!!!!

Wow, she's hot. I wonder if she just provides the voice and it's someone else being photographed or if she just wears a lot of makeup and a fat suit? I have to say that live action shot of Joy was one of the grossest things I've ever seen. That's got to be make-up. I mean, there's no way a person could be that ugly, could they?

To me it always looked like joy was a fat man in drag.

The person who plays Joy's voice is a woman. The person who plays Joy in person is a man in drag.
and also, i'm almost positive that Tom is getting a 2nd season renewal. with [adult swim] themselves loving the show as much as they do, i see a 2nd season being very possible. yay! and, "practically strangers" was a joke. it's not happening. that entire radio interview was scripted.
Adult Swim needs to realize Tom is not Aqua Teen. Aqua Teen hit its popularity stride 3 episodes in when the Mooninites arrived. Tom has not hit its stride in 13 episodes. So comparing the two is not valid.

Sorry to double post,me and beatdigga posted at the same time, but let me say, If they made this show mainstream animation and had more adult humor like Aqua teens,It would be way more popular....but then it would'nt be tom...And by the way,I like Aqua teens more than Tom,but that's beyond the point

I'm with you on that opinion. While Tom may not be a big breakout hit on Adult Swim, I think more people are starting to like it more than they did from the start. I've noticed through forum posts and people I know offline are adjusting to it and think it's improving. I think/hope it will too, I don't think the ratings are that bad (if it gets around 550k-600k, I think maybe it's safe, they realistically can't expect it to get Family Guy/Robot Chicken ratings, then again I wasn't expecting RC to get in the millions!) But think about Venture Bros., didn't start off that great when it premiered, but the ratings improved, Adult Swim likes the show, and it's getting a new season.
IMO the only way the show won't be renewed is if Perfect Hair Forever, 12 oz. Mouse, and Squidbillies are all shows that in their 6 episodes get a million viewers watching it and AS decides they need many many more episodes of those shows, then perhaps Tom will be canned.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha looks like you missed the internet the first time around! Someone, please, remember with me back in the day when it was generally accepted that ATHF was total crap. The glory days where Birdman, Brak and Sealab were kings.
In retrospect maybe ATHF hit it's stride at episode 3.

Wow, Tom, what a great way to end season 1. Bring on season 2!
I love the show. ATHF, not so much. What can I say, humor is a tricky thing. The Mayor is like many of the bosses and teachers I've had in life so it's easy to laugh at the show.
I haven't seen all the episodes yet but my favorite so far is Porcelain Birds.
Not sure why, but I found Barb from Pipe Camp to be totally hot. Was that Sarah Silverman? Perhaps that's why I liked her so much. :D I loved her striptease in A Look Behind, LMAO!
A DVD set is a must. No reason to delay it because they have already filmed the bonus features with this episode. Just keep the price reasonable for us struggling entrepreneurs, please.
I think I will head over to Adultswim.com for some Idea Volleyball.

The only reason why people hated Aqua Teen Hunger Force at first was because it replaced Birdman, but people seemed to like it more after a few episodes, at least they did on the message boards I was on.

I still hate ATHF! It's overrated and I still don't get what could possibly be funny about it..
