Yu-Gi-Blow: The Feature Length Commercial...ugh, I downloaded this garbage in 2004, not even remotley close to the standards of the series or manga, produced purly for the demographic, not the fans.

Shouldn't it have been Yu-Gi-Oh: The Infomercial?

"There was'nt a phone number at the bottom."
That was meant as a bit of sarcasm.

Because this is what you would've gotten if there was a talkback for the movie.

now I see why this was one of the worst movies in 2004

O_O did yugi just cause the death of dozens of archeaologists by completing the puzzle? XD
I'm surprised they left Pegasus drinking wine XD
and they also left the part of the Pharaoh getting stabbed :ack:

Wine? Really? Well that was unexpected.
This is a bit like Doma:
Decent plot, no heart.
Although I didn't like the fact that they kept seeing how many plot errors they could make. And I think that the existence of that third magician weakens PM somehow...
And Kaiba said that Pegasus "wouldn't have given up the god cards if he didn't keep a way to defeat them", even though Pegasus couldn't use the BESD. (much like the American children, and adult Yu-gi-oh geeks)

Pluses:
+ I actually thought the brighter animation was a good thing.
+ Using the graphics from the Uncut DVDs for LPs and ATK/DEF instead of the regular blue dub boxes.
+ Clown stabbing Yugi... wow! :anime:
+ All of the music... except... (see Minuses)
Neutrals / Other Notes:
* Téa goes and forces her way into the imprisonment of the Pyramid of Light, spews the 'friendship' spiel, split kicks two mummies, then instantly is frightened to death over them? All over the place much?
* Did Yugi's grandpa sound different to anyone?
Minuses:
- That insert song when Kaiba was flying to Pegasus' place? Really now...
- I thought there was a rule against putting merchandise in animation? So why was this allowed to run with actual, detailed English game cards?
- Kaiba wants to expose Yugi as a fraud? Wasn't that Duke's old angle? Geese... suddenly Kaiba thinks lowly of Yugi's skills as a duelist?
- The final battle with Anubis kind of dragged.
- Ending somewhat abrupt.
Final Score: 8 out of 10
Overall, it was a lot better than I thought it would be. Better than almost the entire 'Waking the Dragons' season. Too bad when Anubis actually appeared after taking out Kaiba, the movie kinda divebombed. Oh well...

You know, I remember in the anime and general forums there were Yu-Gi-Oh! fans complaining how all the critics bashed this movie. I have to say, upon only viewing a few minutes of this movie, if a critic actually praised this movie, they should probably be banned from writing any more reviews.
I mean, everyone in those forums was saying how this was so much better than 4Kid's work on the series. But, all I heard was the same atrocious voices, the same dull 4 Kid's music, and some really cheesy dialogue. And to add to that I never really liked the artwork in this show, and you have one hell of a bad movie. Maybe I'm being unfair in judging this movie based on only a few minutes, but this is 4Kids we're talking about here. they haven't exactly treated their fans fairly, so I don't think I have to treat them fairly, cause two wrongs make a right...er...something...

I feel that the stabbing and mentions of wine felt out of place. Almost as if 4Kids told them to add them so that people would argue about how mature the movie was. (and those 2 things were the most argued points by people who saw this movie, as a reason it was "better". it turned out just to be shock value.)

i didn't watched this movie (because yu-gi-oh is so stupid, with the same generic "trust in the heart of the [insert subject realted to the cartoon]" ) anyways, why is it that i read about it like being an "infomercial" or a big ad and stuff:confused:

Positives to YGO The Movie: Allowed to get away with more than the TV show.
Negatives: Everything else.

The "heart of the cards" doesn't exist in Japan.

"I didn't watch this movie (because Yu-Gi-Oh is so stupid, with the same generic 'trust in the heart of the [insert subject realted to the cartoon]). Anyways, why is it that I read about it like being an 'infomercial' or a big ad and stuff?"   It's called sarcasm, plain and simple. If you want a perfect example of how dumb this is, look at the Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi episode called "In The Cards" where they call it "Stu-Pid-Oh!" Need I say more?

THough I think it's somewhat tolerable. I feel really sorry for the parents who had to see it, who probably felt confused and irritated watching it.
I mean, remember Dark Magician's girl entrance wehn Yugi summoned her? That was retarded looking.

You know, Yu-Gi-Oh was pretty decent when it wasn't all "OMGZ THE HEART OF THE CARDS CONTROL MY DESTINY! I MUST BATTLE YOU IN CARDZ!"
Like...the first few volumes of the manga were good...

Did CN show it FS or WS?
Anyway, the US version was decent, but nothing tops the Jp dub for it. Not only is it 10 minutes longer, but it has the original soundtrack (with new stuff) and Jp voices. Plus the story is much much better.

If the 4Kids version was the original, wouldn't the American version be the original soundtrack?

That's true. Even if this movie was made using the Japanese development crew, 4Kids asked for this production, so this is technically a movie originally made for the US. This isn't a dub version of any YGO movie that was produced in Japan years ago and is just coming over to us now. This movie is a 4Kids original.
And I highly doubt Japan would pad the movie 10 extra minutes considering it, like most movies based on series, is only loosely tied to the show's main storyline.
