I heard a rumor from one of my college mates that FOX has cancelled Family Guy again right after the new season is over for an unknown reason. Could someone tell me that this is just a rumor.

I don't know about that but MacFarlane was on Kimmel a few days ago and 22 episodes was the number he mentioned. That's a solid season. I'd imagine after that the numbers will be the key. If the show gets good ratings and can thrive in the FCC crackdown after Janet-gate (if I'm the first one to call it that I should get a prize, like a penny whistle). It'll be about the numbers, naturally if the show switches time slots and such that'll be a good inclination that things aren't good. But there is also the [adult swim] factor which has heavy sway over the oft sought after 18-34's. Good of bad, people might be watching the new ones on Cartoon Network which could result in a lower rating for FOX.

No. It'll be around for another season. This season is 10 episodes, but itll be on in the fall for 22 episodes.

The numbers have been great so far, even in the first few weeks where it was up against Desperate Housewives, so I don't see where the rumor is coming from.

Oh, but Fox also said that the "numbers don't matter" for Family Guy this season, since the show makes most of its money off of DVD sales, off-network airings, and merchandising. So, ehh... maybe.

No the show is renewed through 2005-2006. And on top of the 35 episodes ordered, FOX also a few days ago just renewed FG past 100 episodes. They ordered 22 additonal episodes bringing FG's episode total to 107 episodes:D

Who came up with that one? Someone please fire this person for being lame.I think there are more pressing matters. Like firing -- in a firing squad -- the people who want the generation between the Baby Boomers and Generation X to be called "Generation Jones".

Oh crud, why am I reminding people, it almost died.

Did anyone see Seth on Dinner for Five? He sounded like the series was fine..though it was a small part of the convo..he did address Nipplegate and how formerly TV 14 FG shows now were TV M and cartoon nudity was a huge issue.

He also talked about missing one of "THE" flights on 9-11. Sorry if this was in another thread, I searched for it and couldn't find it.

GREAT show.

I don't know, but it's used by practically everyone in the entertainment industry.
