Have you ever had a dream about a song that never exists? Last night I had this dream that there was this 70's rock band called Grappler. I got hooked on this one song named "Specter". I remember it sounded very similar to "Hocus Pocus" by Focus, though (A bizarre rock song that really exists!). I looked up Grappler's albums on the internet in my dream and they only had 1 album consisting of 3 songs and a bunch of interviews. "Specter" was one of the songs on the album.

That's how Paul McCartney came up with "Yesterday".

Yeah I've had a few of those so your not the only one. I can't remember what they were about though but everytime I wake up to those songs they are in my head for a few more minutes before they fade and are never heard again. I also had a dream once where I found a poster of a hit song by Matchbox Twenty that does not exist, so maybe we are hearing something from the future. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO spooky. :p

That happens to me all the time when I watch movies. I'll hear a song a certain way in theaters but when I rent or buy the video it turns out the song is nothing like what I heard. I admit, I watched the Princess Diaries. That 'Miracles Happen' song at the end, I thought it went totally different, like the chorus went "if you just open your eyes you will see/It happens everytime when you believe". I think I got several songs jumbled up there in my head. I also could've sworn Aerosmith had a song that simply doesn't exist under any artist.

I've dreamt about the greatest song in the world... but I could only come up with a tribute.

Yeah, I'm sure I have... though I can't think of any examples.

Once, the night after a concert, I was like half-asleep, and I heard the band playing in my head. But it wasn't like when a you hear a song in your head, it was more like they were right there playing....

I did happen to dream up a song about Matt Wilson that was sorta based on a One-Hit Wonder's hit in the 1980's. Lyrics and all.

Other than that, I've also seen visions of unrecorded songs by such artists like Oasis, Faith No More and of all people, Chumbawumba.

I do occasionally, but it's usually nothing more than a really brief and repetitive line or two ... it's never very good, either, which makes it all the more vexing when I wake up and can't get it out of my head =P

When I was in my "composition" phase, I'd keep a tape recorder by my bed for this very purpose. Once or twice, I had some good tunes.

. . . I thought I was the only one! A few months ago, I had a very realistic dream about an anime magazine commercial one time and some really nice-sounding J-Pop song was in it. When I woke up, I desperately tried to find information on the magazine and the song but found absolutely nothing. There another dream I had a few years ago with Chun-Li, Ryu, and Ken in a J-Pop band singing some strange song with ninjas running through a forest. You can't make stuff like that up unless your last name is Burton.

Once, I dreamt of this song that uses the same notes as 2 Unlimited's "Twilight Zone" but the same synthesizers as the kind from Mauro Picotto's "Lizard." It was weird!

Oh! and BTW,Is 2 Unlimited's "Twilight Zone" a cover song of Golden Earring's "Twilight Zone"?

There wasn't any band playing. It was just music playing.
