great start to the much awaited new season with the pre-intro fox bashing :) lois sounds a little off. peter obsessing on the comic even with lois yelling at him was good and the gi joe part to but ewww AS is promoting Foxs block

the driving sequences animation looked kind off strange I don't know if thats bad or good  gibson shooting open the safe for another gun was unexpected just like the return of greased up deaf guy

Man, I forgot how funny this episode was. The Garfield bit with Stewie literally had me on the floor laughing. I also like the epic end credit music they used. And I agree, AS promoting Fox's block sucks.

Heh, the opening joke is one of my all-time favorite Family Guy jokes.

Good opening to the season, although it's going to start to slowly degrade past this. While getting recurring jokes is cool, too many bog the show down.

*When Chris got a job as the paper boy

*When the time the family had to move down south for witness protection and Chris fell in love with a girl who he thought was a boy

*these two example are part of the same episode

Kid: Daddy, why does Gepetto want Pinocchio to tell a lie? :anime:

I hoped that creepy old guy was gone for good - he wigs me out! I still recall the phone messages he left for Chris ...

Well....i think the eps that have aired are great...but with working with two shows I can understand the drop in quality.....

Seth McFarlane wrote this episode, but not the next three. I noticed a pretty sharp drop in quality, so be prepared. I'm still confident there'll be a turnaround, though.

Hey they didn't censor "jesus". That one scene would have made no sense at all if they did. That scene is SOOOOO wrong though...

I thought Lois always called out for Mel. Did she originally call out for George in the early scene during the Fox airing? Or was that Mel as well. I could have sworn it was Mel.

Two GI-Joe references in one night of Adult Swim. That's something else.

For me this is the first time I watched this episode. I missed it on Fox, and what's worse is I have a TiVo... This episode in particular was not really up to par with the wierd animation and over-the-top humor. (I think they tried a bit hard to get good first impressions.) But overall there were some hilarious scenes, like the one with Gepetto and Pinocchio. :D

I give North by North Quahog a B.

I could have sworn it was Mel.They only censor "Jesus" if it's used in an exclamatory context -- and not followed up by a joke where he's actually there and says "Yes?" or something. It's just like on most TV channels, although I think maybe they crack down more on things like "Christ!" than "Sweet Jesus!" which might be why Futurama got away with certain things on FOX that it can't get away with now.

Lois called out for George first, then Mel later on. I know because I haven't even seen the AS airing.

Thanks to work, I've still not seen this episode. Will it air again on AS sometime soon?

Peter said something like "Mel Gibson Jesus mumbo Jumbo" and "We have to do this for Snoopy and Jesus and all the beloved children`s cahrachters".

The Bed, Bath, & Beyond sketch was awesome. I always wondered what the "beyond" meant. LOL.
