View Full Version : Favorite Theme Park?

This thread was inspired by a visit to a local theme park, some roller coasters were good, some bad, some woth the wait, some not worht the wait, but it was overall pretty nice, if not expensive(three bucks for a bottled soda?!). I'll be going there again though, for sure. Its name was called Paramount's(the movie company) Carowinds. It isn't my favorite theme park, not by a mile though. My favorite theme park is Six Flags over Maryland.

Ah, that park was pure awesomeness. It had the best coasters (Joker, Superman) and the best little rides (I don't recall name but this ride had you strapped in a seat standing up and swinging around at what felt 100 miles per hour). I almost fell out of it a couple years ago. That Superman ride though, it was worth the wait. Few coaster can say that, and it's much better than the other Superman in the other Six Flags(over Georgia).

A close second would have to be Universal Studies Islands of Adveture. The Hulk, Dueling Dragons, and the Jurassic Park Pizza were all great. A slight problem is that it manages to be supercrowded all the time, but it's in Florida, so you can't expect anything less. But that Spiderman ride was a waste, I'm so glad I somehow managed not to wait terribly long for it, if I had to wait for it as long as some of the other rides, I would've been mad.

So, what's the favorite theme park here? I know there are some awesome ones in Ohio, but I have yet to go there. Oh well.

Universal Studios Florida hands down. Both parks. Revange of the Mummy was one of the best. Spiderman was nice as well. MIB, was great. So was Back To the Future. Jurasic Park was amaizing.

Can you guess which one I am going to say. Thats right Disney World. I love the rides, the friendly atmosphere, and the turkey legs lets not forget those turkey legs people.

I like Magic Kingdom for the shops they have down mainstreet and a few of the rides but not too many of them.

I like Epcot for the diversity of countries and that cool living seas place.

I like MGM Studios for the hollywood feel, probably my favorite theme part of them all.

And I like Animal Kingdom for what else but the animals especially that cool ride thats like a safari.

Thats why I'm working there in the fall. Yahoo!!

Being a SoCal girl, I grew up with Disneyland. My family's got a trip planned for Sunday of the 4th of July weekend. Can't wait to see what they have for their 50th Anniversary. :D

Meh. I hate rollercoasters. But the theme parks I normally go to are Disneyland and Universal Studios California. I prefer eating and hanging at the gift shop cause i'm never a person for rides.

There are lots of great parks across the world, but Disneyland in Anaheim, CA, is still my favourite. It was my first, and it's still the best (as far as atmosphere).

If we're talking about super-cool roller coasters, then I'd hit up Six Flags Magic Mountain, also in California.

I really enjoyed Universal Studios Florida and Hollywood. Disney World was great, too. I also have been to Disneyland. I haven't visited any of the Six Flags theme parks, yet, though.

Punisher, you mean Six Flags America? ;)

Personally, I'd have to say Holiday World out in Indiana followed by Hershey and then SFA when all the rides are actually operating.

Pointless fact: My uncle did the survey work on "Ninja" the worlds first suspended rollercoaster. And now you know and knowing is half the battle. GI-Joe!

I have a few:

There's Six Flags Great Adventure over at New Jersey. Sure, it takes a while to get from NYC to there...but..

Walt Disney World. It's okay.

Universal Studios Florida. Awesome! :D

Last time I went there was around seven years ago, so we maybe just forgot the name.

Another good themem park I remembered is King's Dominion. Strange thing is the day after we went there some guy fell of one of the coasters.

Paramounts King's Island- Yup this is the best theme park ever and probably have some of the best roller coasters in the United States. The Beast, the Beastie, The Son of Beast, Vortex, and the one everyone should thank for reviving the roller coaster; The Racer. The only thing that bothers me is that they food stand called the Krusty Krab, but they don't serve any hamburgers there. What gives?

Other theme parks I've been to are Disneyland, DisneyWorld, Universal Studios in California, Knots Berry Farm, and Camden Park.

I prefer not to go to theme parks. The rides are clearly weapons prototypes, and the employees have been brainwashed so much you can't help but feel endangered when you're near them. I recently visited Seawolrd since it's so close to where I reside, and I noticed that the whale they call Shamu( or one of his many clones) was intentionally putting water on the, somehow, happy children and their parents. I managed to avoid this. Who knows what kind of chemicals they must have put in to alter the water. But despite my uneasiness I made it out feeling like it wasn't wasted time. But I suppose that Seaworld wouldn't count much as a "theme park". Six Flags was "better", but the lines had me cringing and the refreshments had an odd smell to them. They had it labled "Cherry Pepsi", when in reality it was Lemonade. Ticket handlers smoked more than a badass anime character. Something wasn't right.

So far, it would be one of the theme parks at Disneyland Resort Paris.

I can't decide, really.

I used to go to Hershey with my dad all the time...HOWEVER...I went to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA every summer with my mom and my sister. It's always been my favorite just because I've been going there for so long (haven't been in about 3 years, though).

I just went to Six Flags Great Adventure last weekend (I've been there often, but I usually go to Six Flags New England because it's closer, but it's not as good because it isn't as big. Besides, it will always be Riverside to me) and rode the Kingda Ka. Quite the ride, that one. But still, it doesn't beat Busch Gardens for me.

Growing up near Atlanta, Six Flags Over Georgia is definitely my favorite park. The only one hear where I live now is Lagoon which is in Salt Lake City (Senior Trip is there just about every year). It's alright, but doesn't compare to Six Flags. Haven't been to Six Flags recently though, as I moved and all.

Even though I don't go to theme parks all too often, I'd probably go with Disneyland over Six Flags. Since there is a wider variety of things you can do there besides just riding rides. This reminds me I should go again soon. :p

My favorite theme park?

Being a rollercoaster enthusiast, I would have to go with a park with rides that I enjoy. Since I am a native Virginian, I have three good parks relatively near me: Paramount's King's Dominion, Six Flags America, and Busch Gardens Williamsburg. King's Dominion is a more of a small, relaxing type of park to bring a date for me. Six Flags America has some great and original coasters, but Busch Gardens Williamsburg has some crazy rides. If I have to pick one, I would randomly choose one, and I choose Busch Gardens Williamsburg.

I remember those parks! I went every so often as a kid when I lived in Virgina. Do they still have the Big Bad Wolf?
