Okay now this is just whack..seriously it is.

I heard this yesterday on "Rush Limbaugh" and I thought to myself.."Okay Maybe Mr. Limbaugh is pulling my chain. Maybe it's a Twisted Joke.. or maybe someone really wants to really really download a Lot of Music very badly.

but it's true.. some guy yesterday definitely waltzed away with about 2.6 million dollars worth of Apple Ipod MP3 Players and in fact it's funny.. this guy was so dumb.. He even had himself literally Photographed by the Security Surveilance Equipment within the warehouse in Los Angeles where these Ipods were being kept! And yes, Police are looking for this guy..

So you see.. This guy Definitely had no life.. not if he's going to "Hijack" 12,000 Ipods worth about 2.6 Million bucks.. I mean what is this guy going to try and do with all those devices? Sell them? Probably..

but your thoughts on this..?

Nothing too unbeliavable. 2.6 mil worth of something valuable that would go on the black marcket or *ebay* for lets say hundreds less. Its not, like its news. Theves used to steal VCRs back in the day, TVs, DVDs are still popular. Things like this always happan.

If the crook was so dumb why are the police still looking for him?

People stealing stuff worth money... wow, mighty novel.

Yeah, he will probably be able to sell off the I-Pods for a great deal of money. Hell if he wanted to he could sell the I-Pods for fifty cents each and make six thousand bucks.

I don't think it's that simple. Sure you would think he would sell them, and he probally is, but not as the same product. Look at that guy. He obviously has nothing to lose. They got his idetification, the officials are on him. Though he's not the type who'll care. Why? Because of his employer. Probally has someone powerful on his side that'll have him not looking over his shoulder. I'm thinking they'll maybe implant some sort of brain scanner within each before selling them on the black market for half the price. And we'll all fall prey.

Y'know...I give it at least 10 years before that happens. Maybe .... 5! o_o

Yea he took a lot of risks.. but unless they catch the guy.. He must have a lot of confidence in hiding and disposing of that high amount of goods. Nice set of change he could probably get. Technology sells, even in the black market I'd imagine.

Y'know...I give it at least 10 years before that happens. Maybe .... 5! o_o Thats when MRI scans become obsolite, you will use your ipod not some giant tube to scan your brain.

Actually It's funny that i look at this.. this guy has plenty to lose and for what? A few thousand Dollars worth of Fun? Let's face Facts.. Sure the guy stole 12,000 Ipods, sure the street Value is 2.6 million bucks.. but in the end if he's Selling them black market, well then he's getting Pennies on the Dollar. Also if that's the case, well then in short, he's going to go to prison for a lot longer then usual because he's selling "Goods on the Black Market" all for maybe 1/10th the price here..

So in the end, is Spending 5 to 25 years in Prison Worth say.. 260 Thousand dollars worth of Sales?

I Think not..that's why I say this guy is really totally dumb.. he's clueless that he's a "Marked man now" and it's only a matter of time before he loses his entire freedom of life. pure and simple.

A potential of being caught VS a guaranteed few hundred thousand?

Yeah, I know, that's a ridiculous thing to do.

(Not advocating stealing, but the guy at least weighed the good and bad)

A potential of being caught VS a guaranteed few hundred thousand? No, 5 will get you 10 that this guy did NOT organize/plan the heist, and is getting a flat fee for whomever hired him...

Most likely some piddling amount, if it's even cash. You have to understand, if the guy is an addict, he might have done the job for little more than a moderate amount of the drug he wants.

I disagree, this was not just a smash and grab job. It was planned, mapped and he knew what he was going after. It was well thought out and planned. This took time. So he made a mistake, a "high security camera took a blury picture". He is still out there. And they still don't know his name so obviously, the picture didn't help the police to identify him so they released it to the public hoping someone will notice him.

They could very easily impant a device into the iPods that hacks into the mirror. Then, he could take control of "the voice".

Or he could rob the gas station wearing a bra (as some idiot just did locally (http://www.abc24.com/mediacenter/?videoId=48453))...You know... that was actually pretty well thought-out, all things considered. His face is wrapped, he's wearing a UNC cap pulled down low, and identification's made even tougher when you have to admit to the police that you were mostly looking at the guy's bra the whole time. :D
