I can't tell you how many times I yelled out a "WHAAAAAAAAT!?", because it was alot. Like when they were telling us about the actual re-birthing process, and how Tom's family was somehow illegal. Surreal, in a way. Though, not that funny.
Oh yeah, and the video game part. That was the high point, no doubt.
7/10
Note to Tim & Eric: NEVER show Joy in anything even REMOTELY resembling a porno video ever again.
That being said, I did like the video game segment, Tom registering his family, and the Mayor's suicides.

Tom's life is so insanely miserable that I rather liked that. I must be disturbed.
The video game was the highlight.
"Monty Python?"
Eh, I dunno. I think Tom at it's weirdest gets into "Eraserhead" territory myself. Everything is hideous, disturbing, ugly, and somehow, incredibly funny. "Re-birth" is the ultimate expression of this.
You know, the Mayor's little icon on the Family Center screen is a lot less annoying than that damn Word paper clip.
Dr. Victor Papar continues the tradition TGTTM has blazed in making all of humanity seem ugly, sweaty and dangerously insane. Also, I can totally beleive Virtual Joy could breath fireballs of death from her mouth.
Amazingly enough "rebirth" has nothing to do with Headmasters, and a lot more to do with Dr. Papar pointing to his groinal area, which I find even more disturbing. This episode is one kid with a bat away from being an episode of "Paranoia Agent."
I mean, c'mon. A birth-canal slip n' slide. That's just full of wrong. Joy at the end of said slip and slide WITH HER LEGS IN THE *****ING AIR is wrong on at least subatomic level, poisoning the very stuff of our creation.
And yet, this episode voyaged into even darker territory.
. . .I can see how that ending would lead to some controversy now. I myself screamed so loud I didn't recognize my own voice. :) Possibly the most disturbing thing I've sat through since Cannibal Holocaust, but much much funnier. Shorter, too. A-

This show goes all-out to ruin Tom's life. I love it! Registration, the virtual reality, and "suicides." This is the kind of insanity I love to watch on TV.

This is why I like Tom Goes to the Mayor, it's twisted and oh so funny. My favorite part was the "porn" partly because Tom consented and the acting was on the level of the subject matter. Good stuff, A+.

There are a great many exclamations I could have lead this post with, but they seem inadequate and superfluous.
The video game segment was a distinct high point, but the Family Center with it's amusing pre-recorded messages and the mind-scarring insanity of Porking with the Peters stood out too. I just laughed a whole lot.
Beyond that, I can only say that this is the only episode of Tom Goes to the Mayor that I can like without reservation. If Tim and Eric can get near this territory again, I think they'll deserve some golden idols, which I admit are more to anger the one true God more than anything else.

 That pretty much summarizes my reaction to the Parkers porno film that the mayor makes at the end of the episode.
One thing's for sure: tonight's episode of TGTTM is definitely one of the most bizarre episodes of the series.

I enjoy Tom Goes to the Mayor and I enjoyed tonights episode it was disturbingly funny which is what I like about Tim and Eric's sense of humor. Hopefully next week doesn't mark the end to the series.

This is the episode that was "banned", previously?
So what, was something edited out from it? That sound clip of the "bad" scene that AS aired a few weeks ago would make me guess it was something sexual.
Or did AS slap a TV-MA rating on it, and it was good to go?
The deleted line was "Get off of me" from Joy. This was supposed to be said shortly after "Tom, what are you doing?" At least, this is the only line that was in the Closed Captioning that wasn't heard.
Remember: Closed Captioning is your friend, whether you are deaf, want to know what hard-to-understand dialogue is, or if you just want to see if there were any last minute line changes (or deletions, in this case.)

...................
That's it? That's what postponed this episode? That's what got Turner S&P in a tizzy? Removing that line made the rest of the scene okay?

My... word...
This show needs to go off the air. It's so wrong...
The video game stuff was kinda funny but that's it.
I guess those scenes from the ads were Tom and Joy and not two woman. That's good... I guess.

Tom hits again. one of the best shows on television. we need less of what's popular on TV now, and more stuff like Tom. maybe then i'd watch more than 2 hours of TV a week. the show is so different, and so damn weird. i love it!

The whole illegal family story with the video game simulation/simulated birth canal stuff was actually pretty funny but totally bizarre. However, the Tom and Joy sex tape was probably the most the disturbing animated sequence I have seen since listening to Apu scream in ectasy "YOU HAVEN'T HAD EIGHT CHILDREN, HAVE YOU? HAVE YOU?" to the squishy girl. Just so wrong.

What else is there to add? Bizarre, surreal, disgusting, totally wrong. Funniest Tom episode yet. Keep 'em coming like this, Tim & Eric. (^_*)

I second that. This episode was one of the funniest, most bizarre out of control things I've ever seen. TGTTM better not get cancelled.

I love Joy.
Not in the way Tom loves her. But, I do love her. She's the best thing to happen to this show. And those stepchildren....
I'm not saying we need a Porkin' with the Peters 2, or anything, but, when this show focuses on Tom and his family, it shines. Maybe it's just me, but ever since the first episode("My Stepson!"), I've just thought the humor around him and his family was superb.

What? The mayor tried to off himself, and I missed it? Wasn't really paying attention (just leave it on for background noise while I surf the 'net or rack up my body count on some computer game). I had to leave near the end to go rinse my eyes out with Listerine after the whole Tom/Joy porno thing. That was so wrong on so many levels...
I thought I had been scarred when she did her home cam, bored housewife thing, but this...
(Convluses uncontrolably)
Just so wrong... and not in a good way. Worse than "Man-Faye."

I caught the Thursday airing, and thought it was great. Dr. Pappar's tape, the virtual reality game, the whole idea of Tom's family not being "registered" because he has step children, and Tom's office in the storage bin were all very funny. But that all paled in comparison to the final "Porkin' with the Peters" scene. The awkward sexual dialogue, combined with the wonderfully disturbing visuals (along with the idea that "publically consumating your marriage" was the final step in registering a family) made for some hilarious stuff. This was definitely one of the better episodes of the new batch, maybe the best.

I love this show. I can actually watch repeats over and over. Some say I'm crazy for it. :p
BTW, does anyone know how it's doing in the ratings despite it never being in the top 3? I hope this show can at least get 1 more season at least.

I started making weird noises of semi-disgust during the footage of Porkin' with the Peters.
This episode was so wrong that it was funny. Best one yet.

I am sorry, that was so sick it was funny. How many American men live this life?...I know two men with Joy like situations.....I think people don't like Tom cause it hits too close to home on alot of aspects. I SWEAR that is our city council.

Upon catching the repeat of this, this is probably my new favorite episode of the series (this, Vehicular Manslaughter or Pioneer Island).

I've always thought this way. TGTTM, for me, sort of plays out like a grotesquely amplifed version of the real world. Not the MTV "Real World" real world ... the real one. Like I've said before, many men end up marrying the 'Joys' of the world, people make unbelievable idiotic small talk like the mayer sometimes does in the show, local government is often nearly insane or inept ... so maybe it hits close to home for some people - but I always find myself laughing at the things that strike me as partially realistic, things that are this close to actually happening.
