I got this idea when I looked at my great grandfather's picture hanging up in my living room. My great-grandad was the captain of the Queen of Bermuda & was knighted by the Queen of England. That's pretty awesome when you think about it. He died in the 50's or 60's, I can't remember. On my mom's side, one of my long distance relatives was Irving Eaton, (the original carpenter of Plymouth, where the Pilgrims settled. Pretty neat when you think about it, anyone else got a famous relative or family member?

I don't really know one. Well...actually, I may have SOME famous relatives in the Philippines....but they're too distant.
Well, my aunt one time showed up in the newspapers. Something for science...chemistry.

We're not certain, but it's believed that we're related (on my dad's side of the family) to Benedict Arnold, probably the most infamous traitor in American history.

Let's see... My grandfather and Supreme Court Justice Byron White were childhood friends (ok, that's sort of a relation, I guess... :o), New York Times/Time reporter Charlie Mohr is my 1st Cousin-Once-Removed, and I'm somehow related to Henry Clay, but I'm not sure of the exact connection. I think it's by marraige.

King Henry the 8th is supposed to be an ancestor of mine on my dad's side, and other royal people because of offspring and all that.
Also, a famous actor grew up with a Great Aunt of mine(whose now deceased), and he had proposed to her.

according to my grandma she says we are realated to some sort of royalty from France. I have no idea if it is true or not, she's also told me we have land somewhere that we never claimed south of Paris somewhere.

There's an awful lot of royal blood to be found here. Or so it would seem...
The closest thing I have to a famous relative would be my great uncle Al Molinaro (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0596846/), who had recurring roles on the TV shows Happy Days and The Odd Couple, where he played Al the restaurant owner and Murray the cop, respectively. He's a funny looking guy with a large nose, which both shows played on a few times. Nick at Nite had a joke about him in one of their promos, as well. It's not royalty, but having parts in two 70's sitcoms is good enough for me.
He also got to be in the Weezer video for Buddy Holly, which is far cooler than anything I've gotten to do yet.

I'm not related to anyone "famous", but my dad dose have 9 Emmy awards, 17 Telly awards, used to tour with Lou Rawls and direct the band he played with, was on The Muppet Show for a week directing the band (with Lou Rawls that week), and did the music for numerous shows on PBS (where he also won most of his awards) like Travels in Europ with Rick Steves.

I am related to John Adams and John Qunicy Adams, the American presidents. I can even trace how it's true because my great-grandmother's maiden name was Adams. That made me related to on of my friends in 6th grade somehow cause she's related to John Adams's wife. (forgot her name which is harsh cause I did a biography on him in 4th grade... :o )

An ancestor on my father's side was a spanish priest named Padre Jose Nicolas Balli and he founded the first settlement on South Padre Island, TX. There's a statue of him on the island near the Queen Isabella Memorial Causeway.

Well a while ago I was researching my family history and found out quite a bit. It turns out that I come from a long line of fighting men. I was never interested in my family history, as I thought that it would be quite boring. I was pretty pleased to find out that I'm a "Son of the Revolution". It's funny to think that I volunteered to defend this country, not knowing that my direct family line fought for our independence. It would seem that I have the thick blood of a long line of warriors flowing in my viens. Now that truly made me feel like a badass.:D
If you're bored, have a look here ---->http://http://www.rootsweb.com/~alcolber/bio-elbickley.htm
And here is another good one... Dr. George W. L. Bickley (direct relation also). It's not often you can open an encyclopedia and find a realative in it. He started the "Knights of the Golden Circle" round the time of the civil war. Here is a example in Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knights_of_the_Golden_Circle . This group has recently became famous for the stashing of "Rebel Gold". Hidden cashes of gold and silver that was hidden to finance a second civil war. One website claims to say that Jesse James even got in on the action in hiding the gold http://www.freemasonrywatch.org/confederate_gold.html. Also some people seem to think that the total of the stashes now would be in the trillions, yes, trillions of dollars.
So I've got all kinds in my family tree.:anime:

One of Thailand's most well-known prime ministers (Pridi Panomyong) was a distant relative of mine. Don't remember the exact relation tho...
