On his trip down memory lane, Clark meets Lana (Kristin Kreuk), falls in love all over again and decides to share his secret with her. Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) takes advantage of the situation and convinces Clark to show him where the three stones are hidden.

Well, that was... frustrating. So does Clark really remember his "missing memory" day or doesn't he? He seemed to be leaving so many obvious clues that he did even though he said he didn't, but at the end he seemed genuinely confused at what Chloe meant by "trusting her..." Sigh...
Coupled with the fact that the show still refuses to show any character devolopment on any of it's leads, and I wonder why I'm still watching...

Utter Crap. I couldn't even sit through this one.
Oh what has Smallville come to?
They are up to butchering themselves by a follow up of Batman Begins.Seriously,90 mins of Smallville will look humiliatingly ridiculous when followed by 8 mins of BB awesomeness!
I SO hate Tom Welling. :(

I SO hate Tom Welling. :( Tom Welling isn't the problem. He's still a good Clark Kent and would have been a good Superman, (though I do like Brandon Routh.) The problem is writers and producers who, inspite of all their elaborate story lines, have left the characters stuck in the first season.

im pretty sure he really doesnt remember the past 24 hours... quite convenient. the problem is clrak kent is pretty dumb. he should have caught on to choels clues by now.
anyways, if clark still doesnt tell lana his secret at this point, and they get back together, they will have cemented their battered wife relationship.

UUUUUUUHHHHGGGGG!!!!!! Clark and Lana are back together again! I really wish they'd move on to something else. I'm getting tired of the Clark and Lana thing.
But other then that, I really liked the interaction between Clark and Chloe. It was fun to watch her explain the powers to Clark. :) I liked when she said she'd never reveal Clark's secret. I wish Clark would get a clue and realize he can trust her!
Oh well, hopefully he got the hint when Chloe said he trusted her. Over all, I liked the episode.

Isn't it a little late in the game for Lana to go to college in the fall anyway?
As for the main plot, I liked how Chloe knew some things but she didn't know others (the way she reacted to Clark's x-ray vision was priceless, and I liked how she doesn't think/know he's an alien).
The rest of the episode was pretty "meh" to me. No Kents, Lex being evil, Clark falling for Lana (which was kind of sweet), but it sort of turned me off to the episode.
Well, only a couple episodes left until graduation...

The best part of this was finally getting to see Clark and Chloe talk to each other openly about Clark's powers--even if it was based on something fraudulent, knowing this show it's as good as we'll get. I'll take it.
Lex was also "sinister" this time....let's see him get worse please. I thought this show had a 5-season deadline, or was that abandoned? The time to be buddies with Superman is over; Luthor's turn to the Dark Side should be halfway to maniac by now.
I have to wonder....is "Clark and Lana couplings suck" the majority opinion among Smallville fans? Or is it just here? I don't like it either, but they wouldn't keep shoving it back in over and over if some crowd wasn't demanding it....

I haven't seen the episode yet, but I'll weigh in on the Clark/Lana topic.
I really have no reason NOT to like the whole Clark/Lana side of this series. After all, it's the basic romantic formula that is so often seen in television. I think they have moments when they look and act like a good couple and, frankly, after this many seasons I get a little bit of satisfaction whenever they have a "moment."
With all that being said, I would still prefer seeing a Clark/Chloe romance. I've enjoyed her character more since she learned of Clark's powers and I think she's handled it quite well. Sadly, I'm sure Clark and Chloe will continue on as "just friends" until the time that the series comes to an end. If for no other reason, simply because we all know that Clark isn't going to let go of all those Lana fantasies.

I don't even know how to rank Smallville episodes, to tell the turth. But... irritating. They had a PERFECT oppurtunity for a good, pointless silly episode but NOOOOO.
And I agree, ClarkxLana is blah, Lanna is such a drama queen. I like Chloe, Chloe is cool. :gir:

I liked how Chloe learned of all of Clark's powers tonight. That guy had no idea that his memory drain wouldn't affect Chloe's memory of Clark's strngth. His memory drain only worked for the last few minutes on them afterall. It was also interesting to see that Lois did learn of Clark's powers as a teen. Just how many times is she going to have her memory of Clark's powers deleted though?
I also liked how they had Lex learn a bit about the caves secrets tonight. I'm willing to bet that when Clark learns that Lex copied his cave notes, then that will be the final stake in their friendship. This is the beginning of Lex headed towards the dark side once more, and just how much will Lex trust Clark now? We know he is still suspicious from the car wreck (even though he gave up that research supposedly), so that rift has just opened further.
Despite all the complaints about Lana and Clark, I actually like that storyline, but I do think Clark and Chlow would go together better for the rest of the season. I do think that next week's aspect between Clark and Lana will be interesting though, and it might be the final rift between Lana and Clark.
If anything needs to be resolved, it needs to be the 3 Kryptonian pieces. Lana has one, Jason has one, and Clark has one, yet Lex is associate with all 3, and I can't help but get the impression that Lex is some how going to get ahold of all 3 pieces before Clark can reclaim all of them. I just which they would speed up that storyline, because that is what has really dragged down this season.

I really loved the musical score of this episode. I think it was my favorite part. The story itself I also enjoyed, although I can sense the frustration of watching Clark and Lana go nowhere relationship-wise, and Clark and Chloe go nowhere superpowers-wise. I was also a little disappointed to see Lex be so blatantly and carelessly deceptive. Usually, Lex is completely justified in his actions and Clark is the one who has to hide things. But this time, it was the other way around. Maybe the writers felt they were being too good to Lex?
Also, I'd just like to add that I don't miss Pete. At all.
EDIT: Correction. I did miss him last week, when there was no one there to yell, "Lifehouse!"

I'm actually surprised Lex waited so long before searching Clark's loft. I would have figured the guy had listening and tracking devices all over the place by now.
I liked this episode mainly because of Chloe. I've always liked Chloe and she deserves better. Although I am glad they didn't mind wipe all her memories from the previous day (or worse yet the entire year like I thought they were going to do with the doctor and the machine). That would have made me give up on Smallville completely.
Clark and Lana is jus blah. I really don't care, but I understand that they are trying to set it up as this is the only person Clark will ever truly love (I don't count Lois at all).
At the end of this season he had better tell her or I'm done. Really. That and the three stones are the only two things I'm still watching this show for. And next week's episode looks like garbage. I hate the "we have to take care of a baby so let's act like we're married" episodes in any series.

I guess i'm the only one but i loved this episode and it's awsome that Lana and Clark are back together. Lana is the girl he's suppose to be in love with but never gets until he becomes Superman and falls for Lois. There is no reason why they SHOULDN"T be together. It's the one thing true to the comics they are actually sticking too and everyone has to complain.
As for the episode itself, i think it's the first time we have seen Lex deceitefull throughout the entire ep. He wasn't honest to anyone and Clark saw right through him. I just wonder if they are ever gonna explain how later on in life Lex will have no clue Clark is Superman. i'm Hopeing the show does a final 5th season that covers Clarks entire college career, and ends with him officially becomming Superman...ok maybe it should be streched over 2! :p

Better than I expected. Finally, Lex is playing a little dirty. And Terminatah's right; the musical score was unusually good.

I loved this episode. You heard me.
I thought despite Clark losing his memory this actually propelled the story forward with Chloe learning some new stuff about Clark and giving him a lot to think about at the end. Even if the characters (except Chloe) didn't learn anything new we learned things about the characters.
One thing I wasn't feeling: Clark and Lana. C'mon Clark you have Chloe RIGHT THERE.
And yeah, I was feeling Lex moving toward the Dark Side of the Force. Everything he said was pretty much a lie.
And can I just say how refreshing that the Freak of the Week WASN'T a bad guy? I was fully expecting that he would turn out be a total bastard, or worse a Lana stalker and he turned out to be a good guy! Didn't see that coming! I'm impressed!
I thought this was much better than most of this season. ****.

Three Cheers for Fone Bone!!!! Hip Hip Hurray!!!
Maybe becuase i have been watching season 1 and 2 on dvd, the dragging plots don't bother me because i can just watch the next episode an not have to wait another week. I think most people seem to get anoyed with Smallville becaues they feel they are teased the whole ep and nothing gets accomlished. I think Tom Weling is a great Clark, as are the rest of the cast and i could watch them all day even if the plots are slow.
And yes, it was great that the villian of the week turned out to be a good guy and that Lex is turning to the dark side.

Very enjoyable. So late in the game, this is one of the few times where the "reset to zero" device actually works, because things didn't completely reset to zero by the end of the episode: Lex knows something new about the cave, Clark and Lana have rekindled some of their romance from season 2, and Chloe still remembers Clark's secret.
Actually glad the Kents weren't in this one, because they would've just shielded Clark from Chloe, and then we wouldn't have gotten any of that great interaction we saw. And Lex was outright manipulative in a way we haven't seen for a long time. And our freak of the week deserves a return, too.
Next week looks pretty decent as well. For the first time in a long while, I can't wait.

You know what? I'd like to see that, too. I think Chloe would be able to handle knowing Clark's powers better than Lana. Plus, I'm tired of seeing Chloe on the outside looking in of romance. She deserves a man and I think she and Clark would be good together. Hey, you've already deviated quite a bit from the Superman legend. At this point, why not?
Also, one scene that really captured my attention was when Clark asked Chloe about whom to trust about his powers and she responded, "Go with your gut." I think he did just that when he and Lex were in the cave and Lex suggested they go back to the Kent Farm and see his notes. I could tell Clark felt that wasn't a good idea. And, in the end, it proved to be a bad idea as Lex walked off with those notes. I hope Clark finds out about that.

Actually if the series follows the Contniuity of the cartoons and Comics,
Lana and Clark won't end up together.
There's an episode of the Animated series where Lana comes back.
Back on topic:
I Really really liked this episode better than "Spirit"
Anyway Here's the next week episode sypnosis:

Ageless:(From the WB) Clark and Lana discover an abandoned baby in the cornfield and take him back to the Kent farm. However, once the baby ages from a newborn to a 7-year-old in a matter of days, the two realize he is aging at a rapid rate and frantically search for a cure before the disease kills him. Meanwhile, Genevieve orders Lionel to kill Lana or else she will send him back to prison.

Actually if the series follows the Contniuity of the cartoons and Comics,
Lana and Clark won't end up together.I think we are all aware of that... When stwasm said Smallville might as well deviate from continuity, that was about Chloe getting together with Clark instead of Lois. I fully agree. If Lex and Clark can be best friends for a few years, then why can't Clark end up with Chloe instead of Lois? There's really no reason to stick to the original story at this point. Many people (including myself) feel that Chloe is the most likable character and would love to see her get the man of her dreams. A major deviation like that could actually bring the series to a high point in my mind. That would prove to many people that it was never anything but a different version of Superman's story and not something that should be put down for changing the timeline. If I'm going to put it down, it will be for the constant "freak of the week" episodes and horible rules regarding physics & Kryptonite.

Outstanding episode by Smallville standards. It had the obligatory amount of stupidity and convinient explanations we expect from the show, but it also had a lot more heart than your average Smallville episode, and Chloe even came across as likeable for a change, and her little bit with Clark at the end was damn near Smallville gold.
