Mormon Church

One of my friends recently got into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He's told me about it, but I don't understand it. Anyone know much about it?

they used to advertise heavily in the 80's on television during afternoon animation blocks in NJ, PA, and MD.

I don't know anyone who is Mormon, and I can't say I know much about the beliefs of that denomination.

Well...I don't really know about the Mormon Church. I don't know if the males still practice polygamy. But, most of what I remember is a documentary of a woman's horrible experience with the Mormon Church, who was born a Mormon.

Well...they have this "Book of Mormon", which, accoding to the commercials, gives you a full understanding about what the Bible's about, but, I don't really approve of it. Remember the last lines of the Book of Revelations?

Also, what I remember is, they think the founder of this denomination is higher than God and Jesus. Now that's just stupid, since they are supposed to be "Christians".

Well...I don't really know about the Mormon Church. I don't know if the males still practice polygamy.They don't. There are some that still believe in it, but they are excommunicated by the Church. Read those articles Dr. Octopus linked to.
The "Mormon" episode of South Park is one of their best, and one of the few in which the moral doesn't annoyed me.

Well...I don't really know about the Mormon Church[...]what I remember is, they think the founder of this denomination is higher than God and Jesus. Now that's just stupid, since they are supposed to be "Christians".It's probably not wise to judge something you admittedly don't know about as being "stupid." Also, it's important to remember that there may be Mormon members of Toon Zone that might not appreciate their religion being described as such. Religious beliefs are very important to some people and shouldn't be dismissed as stupid because they're different from your own.

For the record, I'm not a Mormon myself, I just thought this needed saying.
