Inu-Yasha sucks and here are the facts why.

Fact 1- The storyline is the equivalent of a dog chasing its own tail.

Main storylines usually go like this...

Naraku- BWAHAHAHA I've got a new way to defeat GI...uh, Inu-Yasha and his friends!

Inu-Yasha- My sword din't work! Oh noes!

Miyoga- You must travel to the mountain of repetive plotlines to learn the new uber-technique!

Kikyo- Inu-Yasha, I love you so much I'm going to kill you.

Inu-Yasha- Sorry Kagome, but I like dead chicks.

Kagome- Sit!

Miroku- And I turned down that role on Turn-A Gundam WHY?

Shippo- OK, in case you're blind and deaf, I'm going to repeat what just happened in the last 15 minutes.

Sango- I'm older, and somehow, SHE gets all the fanboys!

I'm an Inu fan, as you may guess, and I like the blend of action and romance in a story that's easy to follow. Ya know, sometimes I just want entertainment that doesn't force me to think too much and gives me pretty pictures to look at. There is enough depth and nuance in the story to give fans plenty to talk about. Yes, there are some episodes that could easily be deleted. The whole thing could be cut down to a tight, exciting 52-episode series. But we got what we got, and I like it.

So do a lot of other people in the USA and worldwide. Even though Inu no longer is the top-rated anime on Adult Swim, it still pulls in large numbers of viewers, especially female, on weeknights. Its reruns often perform better than anime premieres. It makes money for Adult Swim, which is why they bought the rest of the anime series. Although it's off TV in Japan, the Inu franchise still is generating enough merchandising money in Japan and worldwide that the rest of the manga might be animated once Rumiko Takahashi finishes it. The anime production team is keeping in touch.

So Inuyasha gets a bit repetitive. Sometimes that is good. And just for the record, Urusei Yatsura did have an ending, as did RT's Maison Ikkoku and her short stories. (^_*)

Quoted for truth. She recycles the same plots and character types in nearly all her stories, drags them on for ungodly lengths of time while sacrificing actual character development, and then finishes them off with a bad ending or worse, a complete non-ending.

Oh yeah, and her art is as bland as toast.

Now more facts about why it does suck.

Fact 11- Naraku is the anime Cobra Commander. Both have huge armies that tend to accomplish nothing, underlings that may or may not be totally loyal to him (although Baroness > Kagura), come up with ridiculous evil plans to destroy their enemies, and run with their tails between their legs when beaten. This got tired 20 years ago!

Fact 12- Romance fanfiction. Lots and lots of horribly, horribly written romance fanfiction.

Fact 13- l33t speek being abused like an neglected stepchild by the fandom.

Fact 14- That the filler plots are more overused than "Feng Shui" on Sealab.

Fact 15- Annoying commentary characters who's commentary is bland and useless. Now maybe if we replaced Shippo with Marv Albert, the commentary would be more interesting.

Fact 16- The overly long sword bit was ripped wholesale from Guts from Berserk.
