I -don't- hate the show. I think the animation is great. But I don't know why the people think it is so funny and I don't notice any improvement thought the seasons. Maybe something is lost in the mexican dub I watch, I don't know... Well, I want you give me an example of something you think is funny in the show.

Maybe something is lost in the mexican dub I watch, I don't know... Well, I want you give me an example of something you think is funny in the show.I use to hate the show, and those of you who got to the DCAU forums know, more than The Batman. I might watch The Batman, but I'll watch static (not the show) before EEnE (the proper, or more used way to abreviate). But when I got sent to college, and was alone in my room, I use to turn the TV on and leave it on, usually on CN, just for the noise and to make the room sound alive, one of the things you miss when you come from a noisy family. Then I got too lazy to change the channel when it came on, so I started watching it, and it sorta grew on me. So here are some pointers:

It is generally agreed that as the show got older, it got better. IE season 4 > 3 > 2 > 1. Also the specials valentine's day and Christmas are considered the best of them all.
To me most of the humor is not in the dialog, but in the animation, and the insanity of the schemes. They were going to build a $100 dollar amusement park to charge Plank a one time fee of $1 to ride? So I don't think dubbing would ruin anything.
We all can indentify with some part of them especially us who aren't exactly kids anymore.
EEnE may simply not be your cup of tea. If it isn't its all good. But make sure you atleast catch the Valentine's day special and the Christamas special both airing on April fool's day edition of CNFridays. This may not be true for you however.

I liked the show 5 years ago and it's very funny and then I started to record every episode of the show even the holiday episodes so when it's gone I can see them on my tapes. One of my favorite shows.:)

I agree that the more recent shows are better (well, most of them). I didn't care for it when the show premiered. I started watching it more around last year or so.

EEnE is the best cartoon show made in Canada and it is so darn funny.:D I agree the show has gotten better by each passing episode and it ranks number two on my cartoon list since starting to watch it in September of 2001. I'm also happy that Danny decided to renew the show from the response of the public which meant the show is popular on CN. I hope the show finishes its final 26 episodes and stand up on top instead of dragging itself with over 150 episodes when they already had jumped shark.

I think its wackyness of it, like for instance: making Ice Cream with glue, it dosent sound funny, but actally watching it happen is hilorus

I guess those characters really remind me of so many people, sometimes myself. And I would say that the show has gotten better over time, maybe the next season will continue that :)

For the same reason that I love SpongeBob SquarePants, Homestar Runner, Douglas Adams and Kung Pow Enter the Fist: random insanity.

Yeah, I'm crazy

It took me a while to warm up to the series. The animation takes getting used to, but once you're in, you're a fan for life. I think the most interesting dynamic is that the kids all have layers to them. For example, Edd has this intellectual thing, but also has this rebellious side (i.e. acting out with Eddy's scams). Ed is the doofus, but at times he shows signs of anger or intelligence. There hasn't been this many complex kid characters since "Peanuts".

The show has gotten better :) I've heard from a number of people (Europeans) that the dub for their native tongue really drags the show down and that they find it much more enjoyable in English.
This is the best cartoon CN has to offer, although it may take a little time to get into it. But give the show a chance and you'll start to enjoy it all the more.

You're right! It's probably because CN realized that the show is actually popular on their network. Heck, Nickelodeon nominated it for their Kids Choice Awards this year, which I believe has never happened to a CN original before! I think some people like it because it's a show that they can relate to their childhood like Charlie Brown. I happen to like it because I enjoy the crazy antics of the Eds!

Any time the show is gross (like when Ed is in his underwear.. I HATE underwear scenes in any show), I revile it. Some things like Ed`s gravy I can tolerate but in general:
( IMO Grossness= The opposite of funny/entertaining/good.)

But IMO, for me the dialogue combined with the schemes are funny. I love The Eds themselves and Johnny and Rolf, but the others, especially the kankers, I could do without. I dunno, I just don`t like to see people get picked on without comeuppance. The timing on Ed`s observations are probably my favorite part.

The ep where Johnny was a superhero probably best exemplifies why I like the show, which is Ironic since eddy is in his underwear most of the time.. I guess I don`t mind it because it isn`t really noticed by anyone and is more part of his supervillain costume than anything else.

I like how it's a show that looks dumb at first, but acually goes very deep.

Take Eddy for example:
At first he seems like the "Sly, greedy one". But as the series goes on, we see that he has some deep psychological problems. He claims to resent everyone, yet he has a deep desire to be around them. He constantly talks about how stupid everyone is, yet he gets excited when they include him. He even mistreats his freinds, yet he seems to go along with them, even if he doesn't agree (due to fear of rejection). He seems to hang out with the other two due to the fact that they share a shallow relationship on the surface (their names) that "binds them together" in his eyes. He seems to have a supioriority complex, and feels above everyone, so he tries to get their money as a "trophy" of his greatness (note how he refuses to "earn" money, yet he'll both set others up to work for money, and he'll work if there's no money involved). He seems to "hate" everything that isn't money. This seems to be because he is trying to live up to the only person that he sees as being "better" than him, his brother. He has nothing but respect for his brother, yet he also fears him (which may add to why he's so crytical of others). He also seems to fear maturing. All of his scams are juvinille, like something a child would see on television. It's because of this that his scams fail.

So, in other words: it's rare to find a show these days that doesn't have a deep storyline, yet has some deep hidden concepts.

Just look at Spongebob! How many times has his underwear been shown? A lot! I like EE&E a lot, but I have to admit that scene where Ed sucks through the house spout sucking dirt, leaves and his and Edddy's teeth into his mouth was pretty gross!

Thing is, I can relate to all the Eds since they remind me of various sides of my chidhood. Ed reminds me of my wild side while Double D reminds me of my smart side while Eddy reminds me of my scheming side.

Also, I wrote a ton of fics at FanFiction.Net that were up until they changed their policy regarding script-style fics. :(

Somehow, there's something about Ed shouting "Gravy!" that gets to my funny bone. :D

I just don't like the Eds themselves. I love the supportnig characters, as they show all the personalities that children have and such. Actually, I do like Edd, as he's not as much of a moron as the other two... and will probably be spared from some sort of horrible fate planned for the gang on the final episode and such... I don't know :p

But, I believe it is the supporting characters that give the show the edge to most people... but that's just comin from my opinion.

I agree. The Eds are alright, but 99% of the show's comedy comes from two supporting characters - Rolf and Plank.

Rolf is the best character ever in a TV show! I think the show has great depth while keeping a high comedy rating. One of the best shows on CN. Danny is awsome for making this cartoon!

The supporting characters would also be nothing without the Eds. It all fits together neatly.

Because the dialogue is funny, the animation is wacky, and it rarely run on bland cliches like other shows.

Well, if anyone remembers a lil' of what I said before about EEnE, I too disliked this show when it first aired. I just didn't find the humor in it at all. It wasn't until 2003 where the show really got me to laugh hysterically at it. It was over the summer, and CN was having their Summer Block Party thing, and EEnE was on Tuesdays (IIRC). Because I didn't like the show early on, I just took a nap; but when I was waking up early from it, my back was turned from the screen, and things I heard (sound effects, and dialogue) made me really fall out laughing. The episode was at the very end of where the Eds flood the cul-de-sak, and Jonny puts Plank's "growth" in to stop the leak in the fence. The burping sound effects, plus his scream made me give the show a true second look and it wasn't until then where I realized just how clever, and funny the show actually is.

With all that, the writing, directing, and voice acting is what puts EEnE up top for one of my all-time favorites. Also, for the fact that just about each character is somewhat recognizable from someone we knew growing up, or that you currently know growing up in school. True, we may not have had those silly experiences that the Eds or the other characters have gotten into, but it may have been fairly similar, and the characters are just someone that we either identify with that we were somewhat like when we [were] younger, or that we knew. It's just a very well put together and clever show in every aspect.

EEE has the strongest legs of any show on CN. It's been on the air for 5+ years and is stronger now than ever....Friday night, in their April Fools marathon (with Billy & Mandy), old episodes of EEE beat brand new episodes of "Suite Life" on Disney (a brand new show that's been doing very well for them...even though I personally think it's a piece of excrement), American Dragon (brand new), Danny Phantom, Teenage Robot (newer) and came within a .5 rating of beating a brand new episode of Avatar.......so bad for something that's been played 7 days a week in multiple time periods for several years.....:)
