imo the host needs to put a bit more feeling into it but otherwise I enjoy seeing glimpses of old games from NEC's console legacy. I wish the episodes were in xvid instead of wmv.
He also has up an archive of PC Engine and Turbo commercials if anyone is interested.

Yeah, the host does seem a tad bland but I'm enjoying this show as I like PC Engine and old PC-Engine games. :)
Now if he can just get around to doing Dracula X...
And why hasn't Valis been reviewed yet?

No idea, but maybe this will be of use to you?

Can't beleive someone else even known what that series is . . .;)
I'd love for 'em to do Dracula X and the version of Strider they released for it. The PC Engine was a fun little system, grossly mishandled here in the US, but never really given it's due nowadays.

I've checked out the first episode a little closer and noticed that along with the promo for the Ys I and II PC remake, they even did a little ad for the Ys anime OAVs. Cool! :)
I don't understand why they had to make Dark Fact look more human in the OAV's whereas in the games his face was blue!

I've seen that page already but thanks anyway! :)
Although I must confess I only played the Famicom version and the Genesis version of VALIS I. However, I'm doing all I can to try and find all four of the Valis games for the Turbo CD since I'm really interested in playing it. Besides, how can you resist a blue haired anime heroine in skimpy armour fighting against the forces of evil? I'm just amazed that Johji Watanabe didn't have a hand in this game as he is notorious for this kind of stuff.
Oh, and I would rather get the japanese versions of the games as the English releases had inexcusably bad dubbing!
If only anime had more popularity in the early 90's, the VALIS games would've been huge...

I was kinda puzzled about that myself, but chalked it up to not being much schooled on Ys lore. The last and really only ones I played were the Master System version and Ys III for the Genesis. Had a little time with the Turbo CD version of I and II but didn't have a lot of time with it.

I'm happy to help OR be redundant. :)

God, I am . . .so. . .sorry for you. :) The Genesis version is a little better but that Famicon version is the most obtuse damn game I have ever played, and I owned a Master System, dammit. :)

II and III (most especially III) are phenomenal work and should have been a blueprint on how to use CD-ROM to really open up the action platformer genre. Welll worth the legwork to seek them out.

The early-90s were a good time for anime-chick heroines (I mean, even Devil Hunter Yohko got a game around that time), with and without swords, really. *L* One of my other favourite no-one-loves-it-but-me games, El Viento has that same advantage going for it.
Oh, and I would rather get the japanese versions of the games as the English releases had inexcusably bad dubbing!
God yes. NEC America had some kind of gift for finding brutally awful dub casts for their localized CD-ROM games. If I have a complaint about Valis II and III it's that. Just. . .girls shouldn't sound like high-pitched dudes. It's just not right.
If only anime had more popularity in the early 90's, the VALIS games would've been huge...
I hear you. Unfortunately, by the time it was mainstream, NEC was effectively a memory, Valis was remembered on about 3 'net sites, and 3D was king. Kind of a shame to think of what might have been, especilly with the strides 2D animation made in the 90's.

God, that 80's promo ad for TG16 was cheesy! :p

No, it just happens that I really like the site and the amazing job they're doing in preserving the legacy of the TurboGrafx 16/PC Engine.
