Which of the PSP launch titles do you think is the best?

I think it's Ridge Racer. You haven't played PSP 'til you play Ridge Racer. The only problem is the announcer. Sometimes he's helpful, sometimes he's just plain annoying!

Darkstalkers

The game has every single DS fighter, every single ending and intro in the entire series, and a full blown art gallery

It's pretty much the Darkstalkers version of the Streetfighter Anniversery Collection....only I would have liked the backstories included.

Metal Gear Ac!d. Out of the four games I bought, I've spent the most time on this one, but it seems to be either you love it or hate it. I'm probably a minority in this.

Well, overall, I would have to say Lumines.

It's the best puzzle game I've played in QUITE some time. Plus it has awsome music.

Though I'm loving the crap out of Darkstalkers, Metal Gear Acid, and Ape Escape (though Ape Escape is just a guilty pleasure).

Power Rangers Dino Thunder "Thunder Storm Part 2".

Oh, wait, games. I thought we were just saying what we've played the most of.

While I haven't played all the games, Twisted Metal: Head On is a good use of the wireless sitch.

For me it's a tie between Wipeout Pure and Lumines. I've played pretty much every launch title other than the majority of the sports tiles, Dynasty Warriors, Ape Escape, and Spider-Man 2.

Vampire Darkstalkers Collection (http://the-magicbox.com/0503/game050326a.shtml)Yeah all those art images are in the Art Collection

But is this coming to america on May 19th or is this Japan Only?

Also I might get Twisted Metal, apparently the God Mode codes of yore are in this version...

Wipeout Pure is pretty good. It has a lot of well designed tracks and you will be able to download more in a couple of months.

Figured I'd ask in here. If anyone has picked up NFS: UR, I'd love to hear some feedback on how it plays, how robust the garage/mods are, et cetera. And of course, how the city & tracks are.

However I wonder if PSP is going to have a GREATEST HITS collection, I'd love to pick up more titles, except that they cost just as much a regular console games...

Thanks, I've been reading the reviews all along. I was just hoping to have an unbiased opinion from anyone here who has played the game. I played a little bit of it and found it to be pretty bland and boring. Then again im not a big fan of the Underground games to begin with. I prefer Ridge Racer over Rivals for racing with real cars on the PSP, but Wipeout Pure owns both of them as far as racers go.

Well... I um... got a PSP. And a pre-owned copy of Ridge Racer (returned already?!?). ... woot.

This thing is beautiful!!!

Help me out here guys. After much debate I've decided to take the plunge and buy a PSP. But I can't make up my mind to get Darkstalkers or Lumines.

I have both.

Darkstalkers is severely hampered by Sony's insistence to use the second crappiest design of a d-pad ever (sure, it's better than the PS2, but it's still crappy), while Lumines is like crack.

Seriously, you see colors, hear music, and are instantly addicted.

Tried a demo of Darkstalkers. Plays just like that version I got imported on the Saturn all those years ago with that 4MB RAM cart. The D-Pad isn't that big a deal, seeing as all D-Pad's seem to mess with my game a bit. (Joystick forever!)

Lumines is the Sony Tetris.

Darkstalkers is fun, but the segmented D-Pad makes combos really hard to pull off. Lumines and WipeOut Pure are the two best launch titles IMO.

I don't really like the PSP that much, but Untold Legends is pimperish. Too bad PSP can't handle a proper Metal Gear game or it would sell like wildfire!

PSP can handle a proper MGS game, it's just that they wanted to do som thing different...

Heck the Gameboy Color had Metal Gear Solid:Ghost Babel, which was pretty much as standard a metal gear game as you could get.

Ask Hideo Kojima if PSP can handle a proper 3-D Metal Gear game. In some interview(I'll see if I can find it on google, it's been a while since I looked at it.), Hideo said that the PSP's design and battery couldn't handle a proper Metal Gear game in 3-D, so the team made a strategy game instead. Yeah, a GBC Metal Gear game came out, but it didn't tun on a disc, have 3-D graphics, or any of the other stuff Ac!d has and supports. To play what Kojima had in mind would require you to sit by a outlet by your wall to play, which makes the game non-portable.

Also I find it funny that AC!D's final boss is again some Metal gear that was tucked away and forgotten about, until someone remembers "Oh we built another metal gear awhile back"

If anything Hideo Kojima should just make a game where all the Metal gears fight each other...and there would be ZOE mechs as well

Hideo Kojima's Robot Holocaust.....it would sell millions
