What is your favorite RPG moment? I'm not asking for your favorite RPG game, but your favorite RPG moment, even if it's not from your favorite game.
Mine would be the first time I ever beat Necrosaro while playing Dragon Warrior IV. This was before the time of FAQs or strategy guides, and I completed the whole game with hardly any help at all, just some barebones hints from Nintendo Power. Plus, the game had an awesome ending: descend into hell and kill the demon that has been plaguing your world and hunting you since you were born.
Other notable moments:
The bike chace in FF7
The trial in Chrono Trigger
Coming upon some unexpected Hobgoblins in the original Baldur's Gate
The death of Alys in Phantasy Star IV (they don't have to be happy moments)
Promoting my characters in Shining Force II
My dwarf warrior's first griffon ride to Ironforge in World of Warcraft
Others?

Rudy cutting off his hand in Wild ARMs.
KOTOR's big secret.
Skies of Arcadia being so awesome.

Mine will always be seeing Figaro Castle sink beneath the sand for the first time in FF6. The surprise factor, the music, and Kefka's reaction... good times. In no way did I see it coming.

Fighting Raphel(name spelt wrong because I suck) on my pirate island in SoA and not realizing I couldn't beat him.. must have restarted at least 5 times before I figured out it was required for me to lose.
Kratos meetign Kvar in ToS. Finding out the truth about Remiel in ToS. Fighting Yuan and Botta.
The first time I played FE7 on the GBA and the main theme played when I recruited someone. (after hearing it in SSBM, it was so cool to hear it in the game). When Guy started to critical hit everyone in FE7.

Final battle in FF4 against Zeromus. At the time, I thought the music and the scrolling background formed to create the coolest fight ever. It looked like a truly cosmic battle, like we were fighting across space and the universe. Still holds up quite well today.
Evil character Edwin turning into a woman in Baldur's Gate 2. (Looking at his new "female" chest-- "Hey, these aren't bad! :D )
"You spoony bard!"-- FF4
Every party member's final parting comments to you as you decide to ascend into Godhood in Baldur's Gate" Throne of Bhaal.
A mediocre RPG, but Ultima 8 had one very awesome moment--the summoning of the Fire God, and trying so badly to NOT SCREW UP the ritual when you and three other Fire disciples try to talk to him.

And thanks to you, I WILL.
...it's not exactly a big story spoiler, but I went ahead and put a mild spoiler warning in the thread title just in case-- some of the things people have been posting seem to be creeping in on that territory.

Every last (non angust) Skit in Tales of Symphonia. These things are leathly funny.
Infact, the 1st part of the Tower of Salvation also qualifies as awsome.
Trail- Chrono Trigger, repersent.
Terranigma, best game EVER.

The battle with a WEDDING CAKE in Super Mario RPG.
The opera scene in FF6 and also from the same game the entire world going boom.
The siege of Alexandria in FF9.
The final boss not turning out to be the final boss in Phantasy Star II (even though, I was more than a bit enraged by that one at first one).

-Without a doubt the Opera area og Final Fantasy 6. This blew my mind in ways that rarely any other games have.
- Koopalings in Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga.

The wedding cake battle in SMRPG was just so brilliant
Many of the quotes in Tales of Symphonia
The final battle in Paper Mario 2, as it was just so long with that 5 minute cutscene
I should probably play more RPGs

It's a tie: resurrecting General Leo in FF6 and resurrecting Aeris in FF7.

The fight against Red in Pokemon Gold because I had played over 100 hours just to get to him, and then I lost miserably. Still, the music was awesome and so was seeing that the guy was actually in the game.
And just about every Scene in Paper Mario: TTYD, especially the memorable quote from Kammy Koopa="I shook what my momma gave me!"
