Well I'm new here so please bare with me. I heard that funimation will not be getting anymore new episodes but just reairing the first few seasons that they have already paid for. Also I know the first three part mystery will be out on video this summer but why will it be on one DVD? Why not just put it on one DVD? Maybe with volume 5.1. Oh well. I would like to know these things because I thought I would have something to do this summer but with the news of no new eps then I might not have to stay up past midnight the entire summer. Which would realy suck. Does anybody know whether some other channel may pick up case closed/Detective Conan to eventually show new eps. Thanks for any responses that I may receive and hope to have fun here at toonzone. Thanks again.

FUNimation's gonna finish Case Closed. You meant to ask if Adult Swim was to acquire new episodes, and no, they will not. They will air the episodes they have.

Also I know the first three part mystery will be out on video this summer but why will it be on one DVD? Why not just put it on one DVD?What? Why will it be on one DVD... Why not just put it on one DVD? There has to be a number more than one in there. Or else that will continue to confuse me.

There'll be a lot more anime to stay up past midnight for. Trust in my word.

Oh, and I don't think any other network will pick up Case Closed for more episodes. Why, the only network I can think of that would do something like that has already made the decision to not pick up any more episodes (basically, I mean the Cartoon Network).

yeah I meant that why doesn't funimation put volume 5.1 and 5.2 together or something like that? which would put together the truth about revenge dvd with the three part mystery dvd.

Is detective conan still going on in Japan? Also is it still going strong with new episodes or has it ended. Also will adult swim ever show the detective conan movies here in the U.S.? Also what is the total number of episodes for detective conan because I heard that it rivals that of pokemon which would be amazing if it is true. One last thing, on a side note since adult swim used to show yu yu hakusho, what will happen to the show will it stay cancelled or will it come back to finish the series because there are only about 30 or so episodes or maybe less left. Thanks.

Detective Conan is still going on in Japan, strong with new episodes. It is currently at 300+ episodes (don't know the actual number). We don't know yet if AS is going to show the movies. As for if AS is going to show more episodes or if it is cancelled, they have more episodes, but they just don't have a space for them.

So, yeah.

As for the Yu Yu Hakusho question you'd be better off asking that in the Toonami forum, but at the moment no one knows what the situation is with Yu Yu Hakusho. It's assumed that it will come back eventually to air the final episodes but no one knows when.

There are close to 400 episodes (#393 was the last one shown in Japan, and there's no end yet in sight). Keep in mind that some of these episodes are hour and multi-hour long specials, so any broadcast that breaks those into 30 minute episodes will have plenty more than 400 "episodes" to air, even if the series in Japan ended right now.

I really doubt that AS would want the theatrical movies for this series, given that movie length broadcasts don't tend to be very good ratings draws for AS in the first place, and that they aren't very interested in the series as it is. (They have YET to air two of the episodes that they got from Funi.)

(As far as Funimation being committed to releasing the entire series in the US, do they REALLY have a license that would last that long, given the pace of their releases? All I know is what Funi says it intends to do.)

Speculating about the potential for future premier broadcasts of this series, I think Case Closed's best – dim? – hope would be a TVPG Cartoon Network airing outside of AS. (If today's Fullmetal Alchemist was REALLY TVPG...)

Of course, Case Closed's very best hope would be that FUNimation actually goes through with the idea of launching their own 24 x 7 animation channel. Not just Case Closed either, though that is the anime that would benefit the most from it.

Detective Conan will eventually be released on DVD. Let's just be happy that except for the title change, the show itself has not be slashed, hacked and edited like some anime series.

And the dub is pretty good also.

I hope that I can always get responses like these because I really have been asking around for a while now so thanks again to everyone who has answered the questions I had. P.S. Which series do you think will last longer pokemon or Case Closed? In my opinion I think pokemon just might out last detective conan in the total amount of episodes but not by much, but case closed will be better by far.
