Okay now first off there may be a thread on this already. Just go ahead and tell if so.

What's your biggest scare? Did you scream, jump, etc.

Okay here's mine:

Resident Evil 1:

1. The dogs jumping through the windows.

2. The first Hunter. Killed me with one hit and I was fine.

Resident Evil 2:

1. The crows flying through the windows

2. When the Licker busts through the window in the interrogation room.

3. The room where the dogs are locked in cells. I'm like "They not gonna bust the doors down" So I grab the reb herb and then BOOM! The dogs bust down the doors. Scared the hell outta me!

4. The room where you grab the cog, then the Tyrant busts through the wall.

Resident Evil: Nemesis

1. When the Nemesis busts through the wall in the stairway hall in the police station.

2. When the crows busts through the bus windows

Resident Evil 4:

I just started started playing this recently and so far only the guy with the chainsaw made me jump.

Because nothing really scared me in that game. I was just listing the ones where parts in the game made me jump.

Wow, that still has to be the scariest moment in Resident Evil to me, you knew it was going to come at some point when it was dropped out of the helicopter.

The problem was.. where though. I had to stop the game for a second after that.

The fear factor of not knowing what's lurking behind every corner, every room and who's around to stalk you. That's freaky.

I've been playing Nemesis since its release and I STILL get scared playing it!!

There was one point while playing REmake that I almost threw up. I could feel it in my throat. I'm also easily scared, so yeah.

Going into that hallway with mirrors in the mansion, I went straight ahead to the door in front--as I walked, a zombie pulled himself up from the floor. This was a Crimson Head, of course. I ran into the other room and hoped he reset himself to that position so I could blast him with a grenade. No dice--he wasn't there when I opened the door. I heard him though.

I finally got the courage to turn the corner. Nothing. He must be down the hallway. I hear him shuffling, I hear him whining, but he never shows up. I figure he must be stuck behind something, so after about two minutes of idling I finally get the courage to run forward. The camera angle changes and there he is.

I jump (from surprise) out of my sitting position and by the time I get my launcher in position, he's already swiped me twice and drained my health to critical. I eventually torched him (hooray incidenary grenade glitch), so it was all good.

After saving and shutting it off, I went and ate a hamburger, even after almost tossing it all over the floor.

There were a few other scares, mostly induced by my brother ("LOOK OUT!" "what?!" "hahaha"), which is why I played the second disc alone in the room, with Black Sabbath Reunion playing low in the background.

The biggest heart-stopping moment for me was the licker crashing through the interrogation window in RE2.

None of those moments in RE4, though several bosses made me go "&^%! I have to kill *that* thing?!"

The first time I saw the Crimson Head running at me in the Resident Evil remake. It wasn't nessisarilly scary, it was more of a "Oh s***!" moment that left me a bit worried of how many of these things I'd meet up with. And the Nemisis, it just gave me an uneasy feeling during the whole part where you're being chased at the begining through the city.

Oh! You just reminded me! Two things in RE4 got to me while playing, and even tho I had an idea they were going to happen, they still caught me by surprise. And just cause I'm cautious, and know of at least one person who hasn't played RE4 yet, spoiler tags!

Both events were obviously designed for the quick, sudden, throw them in your face type of surprise, but still cool. The first was with Del Lago, when you're standing at the docks before fighting him. Shoot a few of the little fishies, and before you know it, Del Lago rises from the water and sucks you in. After staring for a second, I realized just how hilarious it was.

The second event played off the same way - it was at the Los Gigantes battle, when you could drop one into the lava pit. Thing is, stay too close to that hole before it closes up, and a flaming giant hand reaches up and grabs you. Same deal, and just as unexpected.

And a third thing that freaked me out was with the Regenerators - When they grab you, the camera does this neat, freaky thing by zooming in onto the Regenerator's stretched out, disgusting face as its head rears back and its jagged mouth gapes wide open and slams into your shoulder. I jumped, but at the same time impressed by the event.

And REMake's dogs jumping through the windows got me a good few times too - Walk slowly through that hall once and sigh with relief that everything is fine and dandy, run back through it all carelessly and CRASH! After that, I didn't feel like any room in the place was safe, no matter how many times you might go thru it.

RE: Dogs crashing through the windows.
RE2: Licker through 2-way Mirror. Literally jumped at least a foot off the bed when that happened, much to everyones amusement.
3, CV & 0: really didn't have any big scares for me.

RE cube:
Revisiting the east (first floor) hallway and noticing a door was open. What thu? aaaaaaaaaaieeee!!!
Also, the moment when you progress down the western (first floor) hallway and see the birds pirched in the hall.
Overall WORST scare was Neptune (or whatever the giant shark was named). Even when it was dead I had to sit there for almost 10 minutes to work up the courage to go past it. I have shark issues. Not to mention oversized animal issues.
Dead Aim: (This is scare is similar to that of the original) The localization. Honestly, play this with the subtitles on, and they don't match the spoken dialogue. And BOTH the spoken dialogue and the subtitles are ridiculous.
Totally off topic. I wish they'd remake Gaiden into a cube game. I love the stranded/locked in scenarios in murder mysteries (might be part of my fondness for the RE series), and playing the GB game with Leon and Barry on the cruiser was a pretty nifty stranded/locked in scenario.

But the title says "biggest scare" And nothing in CV made him jump/scared him. I have to agree. The game didn't have much in that line. Though putting Wesker in some stoopid black leather get up was a bit frightening. All I could think of was, is he supposed to be some fetish type now? :barf:

Yeah I've got arachnophobia so defeating the spiders in any RE is the toughest thing to do. I've got to get my adrenaline pumped up and go in guns a blazin'. The black tiger spider in REmake was the most difficult boss on a mental level to defeat.

Resident Evil 1:

1. The dogs jumping through the windows.

2. The first Hunter. Killed me with one hit and I was fine.

2. When the Licker busts through the window in the interrogation room.

.

Those all freaked the hell out of me. Especially that first Hunter lurking in the shadows. It's the first time you hear an ominous sound outside of the zombies, and suddenly he tears you to shreds.

But what always scared me the most wasn't cheap scares like the above but running out of ammunition. Walking around zombie infested hallways knowing you'll only be able to take out one or two of them before they swarm you is spooky stuff.

Though, after finishing on hard, I usually enjoy going through on easy as a sort of reward. Nothing like having what seems like barrels full of ammunition that you don't actually need.

Hmm, the RE games never really scared me, at least compared to the Silent Hill games which always made me feel apprehennsive. But my main scares are:

Resident Evil 2:
-The licker through the interrogation room, and when you see the licker run by you on the wall as you pass a window.

Resident Evil remake:
-Fighting the Snake. I hate snakes and that snake in the remake just looks so incredibly scary and evil. Scarrier than anything in those crappy DTV snake movies.

Resident Evil 4
-When you were being swarmed by enemies, then you hear the sound of a chainsaw and have to try and fight off all the enemies and somehow kill chainsaw man.
-When you have to try and kill the one monsters(forgot there name) with a normal weapn before you find out the only way to kill them is with the sniper riffle and thermal scope.

[guinaevere]Deke, dodge and run, my friend.

Yeah, but sometimes easier said than done. And as they say in Shaun of the Dead, those guys have a tendency to be rather "grabby."

Though, after finishing on hard, I usually enjoy going through on easy as a sort of reward. Nothing like having what seems like barrels full of ammunition that you don't actually need.

That's for sure. I'd rather have some sort of camera that lets you see around corners though.
