First time posting in these forums, and I have been traveling threw them though and saw a topic known as If the Simpson’s was put on Adult Swim or something like that. It got me to think, they should do that....They could have the new episodes the ones Fox is playing re-airing on Sunday uncut. Than Adult Swim on the weekdays; they could air seasons 1-whatever season they have on now only in uncut. I think that would rock, any one else agree with that?

Adult Swim can't just put The Simpsons on Adult Swim (um...yeah) because they don't own the rights to it. When they picked up Futurama and Family Guy from Fox, they weren't just given them freely - they had to pony up mucho dinero (read: a ****load of cash) to get the rights. And guess what? The Simpsons, perhaps the most popular primetime cartoon series in history, would cost even more to license for broadcast outside the channel.
It's not that Adult Swim doesn't want to get the show - it that they don't have the financial resources to pick up this kind of property, at least for the moment.

Things like that dont just happen. You can't say "Hey lets air the Simpsons" and have it on the next day.

Because the polar ice caps will melt, gas prices will skyrocket, baby Jesus will grow up lissening to death metal, and there will always be a kid that beats you to the ice cream truck and pays for his Drumstick with pennies.
Because it would give Fox another reason to renew it for 10 more seasons. Which is much more than we actually need or want.

We'll see the Simpsons on F/X long before it'll ever air on Adult Swim.

Heh, this reminds of how Channel 4 (British telly) almost went bankrapt from getting the Simpsons on their station. Adult Swim wouldn't have a chance getting their mitts on that. Besides, it wouldn't really suit their line up anyway.

We had a similar topic about the Simpsons on Adult Swim a while back (Not too too long ago), and i also brought up that syndication rights for the Simpsons would be astronomical for Adult Swim

Fox would never sell the rights to anyone until the series was actually finished (well, roll on 2008). It was what made Fox the channel it is today, and Fox would definitely not give way so much of their heritage. When the series finally comes to a close, then they'll probably consider selling the rights to AS, but only then. It'll still be for a megaload of money as well.
I dont see fox anyutime soon making another dumb mistake and getting rid of another show that will make a ton of money on anohter network like futurama and family guy. Also I hate to see how much to the rights for simpsons costs right now with the show being extremely popular.

However, in May you will get to see encore first-run repeats of Family Guy and American Dad after Fox gives them their first view.
