I've never played any console games online (or really any computer games for that matter), but I am interested and I've been wondering a few things about it. Mainly, can only one player go online at a time, or in a game that offered non-online multiplayer, could 2 (or 3,4...) players play together online at the same time (most likely using split-screens like most non-online multiplayer modes). I'd be more apt to go online if I could do it with my friends in the room and we could team up, or just duke it out against a bunch of other folks, etc.
