Do you follow any sports? If so, what sport(s).
I am a fan of hockey (I follow AHL hockey so the NHL lockout doesn't affect me much), Nascar, and I'm building hype for baseball since the MLB season's about to start.

I play more sports than I watch. I play Basketball, Soccer, track, & Girls' Rugby. Usually, I watch Pacers' games but not lately because they have really been sucking. I am crazy about FIFA though. I will wake up 4 in the morning or something just to watch it when it comes around. I think I might be going to Germany next year. As for Rugby, I just play it. I've only seen games that my coach has made the team watch to like study tactics and plays or whatever. Same thing for track.

What I follow: Hockey (ice), horse racing, baseball, college hoops, soccer and Am. football. I'm a big fan of the first two, the others I'm also interested in but not as obsessive about.
What I play(ed): Equestrian, running (XC mostly), basketball, soccer.

I don't really "follow" any sports, but I watched a lot of football this last season, and I enjoy watching basketball and hockey a little.
Soccer is the second worst sport ever if you ask me. Racing being the top worst sport. Racing fan: "Oh I know what'll be fun: Let's watch guys drive in circles really really fast while we drink tons of beer!" And Soccer is almost as bad.[/rant]

Okay, then explain yourself. Why don't you like it?Fine, I'll explain. . . I just think it's too boring. The "gameplan" (sorry for the pun) just isn't interesting enough for me. "Kick the ball into the net, but don't use your hands." <--That's it. Woo! That's just not enough. With, say football, there are tons of different plays you can do, and it's always interesting.

For me, I follow pretty much only one sport - and based on my Canadian heritage, I'm sure anyone can make an educated guess as to what sport that would be - if it weren't LOCKED OUT.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Of course I still have the WHL, OHL, QMJHL, ECHL, and AHL to keep me entertained, but it's not the same...if it's not the NHL, the only hockey that really gets me interested is during the Olympics, otherwise I'm not really passionate about it.
...aside from that, I still do have a passing interest in Canadian football (CFL), a minute interest in the NFL, and thanks to my friends being baseball nuts, the MLB.
I was a fan of the NBA when the Grizzlies were in down, but I soon realized that the NBA, by far and large, is a joke, so I stopped caring. The sport itself is great, I just hate the "me me me" attitude of the "team" sport the NBA embodies.

The main sporting event that I follow is the Olympics. This counts winter and summer. There's something about the Olympics...the international spirit of competition, the incredible and epic TV presentation, the amazingly clean and glistening arenas, the wide variety of events across all disiplines...that makes it incredibly awesome. I'll watch any sport if it's in the Olympics, and that includes Badminton (awesome), Synchronized Swimming (underrated), Curling (slick).
I do follow other sports including...
Women's Tennis - Especially the Grand Slams
Formula One Racing
World Cup Soccer (Specifically Team USA)
Bobsledding
Skeleton
Skiing
Women's Beach Volleyball
Baseball (Mainly Atlanta Braves)
Track and Field
Curling
Swimming

I'm a very big fan of Baseball. Loyalty goes to the Orioles, so it can be very frustrating at time. ;) 1996/7 were the best years (for me, anyway. wasn't around for the golden years).
More of a casual fan of football. Ravens, of course, but I'm not as big of fanatic as I am for baseball.
Big time sports nut here. My favorite is Basketball (Lakers =D), but I also follow:
baseball (Dodgers)
hockey (Kings)
football (Raiders)
golf (Tiger Woods)
nascar (Dale Jr.)
tennis (Agassi)
arena football (Avengers)
my faves from each sport in the parenthesis. I occasionally follow Tennis, but usually just the majors. Nascar whenever I can remember it's on, but I keep up with the results. Golf usually just highlights, but ocassionally I'll tune in. Arena I rarely catch it on tv, usually keep up with the results/highlights, same with Hockey. I follow basketball, baseball and football very thoroughly during their respective seasons.
Amazingly I'm not a big Olympics guy, I do like the Summer Games more than Winter. And I don't care for X-games.

I agree...I think the X-Games are fun and all, but I can't ever really get pumped about them like I would for a favourite team, for example. It's a fun thing to put on the tube if nothing else is on - kinda like Fear Factor. :p

Baseball is the sport I'm the biggest fan of and will watch/listen to it whenever it's on. I've become a much bigger basketball fan with the Suns doing so well this year and I have a love/hate relationship with football, but that's probably just because I'm a Cardinal fan :). I feel for you hockey fans out there, but I'm kinda glad about the lockout personally. Now the only boring stuff I have to sit through on SportsCenter is the college stuff. :D

Baseball since litterally before I was born. Long time, and long suffering, Orioles fan to be precise. Also a growing fan of the new Washington Nationals. Two teams I can actually get to whenever I want to, too sweet. :D
Been following the Wizzards more this year since they've actually been worth a hill of beans and I'm also a massive soccer fan. D!C! UNITED!!!!!!!!!!!!:anime:
Hey Noir, which games are you looking at going to over in Germany?
Just soccer and basketball here ^^; Only two sports I've ever really gotten into, plus they're the only two I play. Soccer I've been into all my life and I just recently started watching basketball a few years ago. I might be going to Germany next year as well if my classes all end before then...I think they should. I already spent all that money on the tickets and am going to be staying at a friends house there, so I'm going either way...Not sure about the cup.

soccer (football) is the greatest sport in the world, Kurt. unfortunately MLS lost the only two players that made it worth watching... but we still get Mexican League games and occasionally a few games from overseas are broadcast on ESPN 2. and of course I've been following World Cup qualifying.
hockey was the only other sport I followed, but now I don't care any more.
I'll watch football or tennis occasionally, if I have nothing else to do.

Football (American) is by far my favorite sport to play and to watch. I played football from middle school through college so I feel the most connection with it. I tend to primarily follow the NFL so living in Boston has been awesome the last few years with the Patriots dominance of the NFL. I will watch major college football, but most the big games and Ohio State games.
Baseball is a close second. I never played baseball growing up so I was always a casual fan. Once I moved to Boston 13 years ago, I slowly got sucked into the Red Sox fandom, which actually paid off last season.
Basketball is almost nonexistent to me these days. When I was younger it was by far my favorite sport, but back then the NBA had players like Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, David Robinson, etc all in their primes. Plus the game was more team oriented as opposed to now where most teams seem to be content to stand around while one guy plays one on one. Ugh. Between the decline in team game play and emergence of players as self promoters on the court I really can’t be bothered to waste my time on the NBA. It’s no wonder the rest of the world beats the crap out of the American squads in international play. Though I still go to a couple of Celtics games a year. Just for fun.
Soccer bores me to death. I have never been able to get into or appreciate it. I realize throughout the rest of the world it is the most popular sport, but it just doesn’t do anything for me.
Hockey is okay, but I can’t watch it on TV, it’s too chaotic for me to follow, but I do like seeing games in person. I mostly follow the NHL via Sportscenter just to stay current with the standings and catch highlights.

Once in a while I'll watch the Packers if they're playing, but that's about it. Maybe a grand prix race once in a while, but it's not something I go out of my way to watch.
I'm not a fan of watching sports on TV- I'd rather be there live. I find baseball on TV boring, but being in the Milwaukee stadium- that's a fun outing. We went to see the Packers when they played in Madison, and that was fun too.

No sport can top the greatness of Major League Baseball. I have been a fan of it forever, and my favorite team is the Orioles(which seems to be a popular choice around here). I don't really like any other American League team, since I've realised the Yankees are a bunch of jerks with deep wallets. But I (sometimes) watch Cardinals games.
Football(American) is the second best. I've played both Football and Baseball, and Football is way too simple for me to enjoy as much as baseball. I do follow the Ravens though, and I was pretty upset with them not making the tournament this year. College football is fun to watch too, but isn't as good as NFL.
I just started getting into hockey, which might soon take out football as my second favorite sport. My favorite team here is the Mighty Ducks, mostly because I watched the movies before I liked the sport, and then got into it. The lockout is pretty rough, but I handle it by playing it with friends.
And finally, while I don't consider it a true sport, NASCAR. It's pretty fun to watch the races, and the crashes are exciting. I lost interest in it win Earnhardt died, but I'm coming back to it by watching Kevin Harvick, who has a knack for placing second.
So, I guess I'm a pretty big sports freak. I can't help it.

Me, I am a die hard NASCAR fan. I have been to a ton of races, and have been a fan of racing FOREVER. My favorite driver is Rusty Wallace. What I ultimately want to do in life is build the race cars. I am getting my degree in Mechanical Engineering at USC and hopefully when i graduate I can get a job with a top notch team in Cup. I also follow the Atlanta Braves and the Tennesse Titans. I occasionally catch Formula One when i can on SPEED. That is about it. NASCAR is my passion though.
