Last week, my mom had to go into the hospital for a bone-marrow transplant. At least, there's a bright side to it: she'll be her own donor.:) The last time she went was 2 years ago when she was diagnosed with non-hodgekins lymphoma cancer. Back then, they did stem-cell research and will now use what they took from her for new bone marrow.
At least I don't have to worry too much about her. I saw her this past Sunday, and she's been doing well so far, thankfully.:D
Unfortunately, she'll be going into isolation so I won't be able to see her for 2 weeks.:( I'm a kidney transplant recipient and I wouldn't want to spread anything to her.
Hopefully, she should be out by the end of the third week in March.
I just can't help thinking about her though.

Viper, you guys have certainly had more than your share of illnesses. My prayers are with your family.
As Beguiled pointed out, y'all must be so brave to have to face this, and I have such respect for you to stand by your Mom and support and love her through all this. That's the absolute most wonderful thing you can do for her during these times.
I'm sorry to hear about your mom being in the hospital again, Viper. I'm sure that she'll do well with you supporting her. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v89/avran/smilies/goodvibes.gif I'll keep her in my prayers.

Wow, your family just has all kinds of good health luck, don't it?:p
All kidding aside, here's hoping she pulls through alright. Sounds liek they have a good plan to treat her. Sorry to hear you can't see her for two full weeks.:(
Aw.. I'm sorry to hear that. :( She'll be in my prayers. :)

Thanks for all your support, everyone.:) Forgot to mention, my sister came in this week to help out and gave some of her blood to my mom yesterday. It's most likely part of the transplant procedure, same thing happened with my kidney transplant (one of my mom's friends gave blood).:)
I'll still keep praying for her till she comes home.:)
My prayers are with you Viper, and your mom...

Sorry to hear about your mom. My great aunt (who is my grandmother on my dad's side's sister-in-law) has Lymphoma. We thought she had pancreatic cancer but she doesn't seem that way. She isn't as sick as they thought she was. She hadn't been eating much for a while and now she is approximately ninety something pounds...

She isn't as sick as they thought she was. She hadn't been eating much for a while and now she is approximately ninety something pounds...That's how my mom was before her first hospital visit. She was practically sleeping half the day, had no appetite, and was about 115 pounds before her first chemo treatments. I remember she slept through Christmas dinner of 2002.

Viper, having been through this type of situation with my dad's cancer when I was young, I know it's not an easy thing. Your mom & your family will be in my prayers.

Well, AFAIK, tomorrow should be the day she has her stem cells put into her (that's th etransplant itself, BTW). For now, her teeth are starting to hurt, which happens with chemo.
It's ok, I still have faith that she'll pull through.:)
Thanks for caring everyone.:) :anime: :D
