ive always thought i was alittle freakish because i'll look at alot of animated female in a sexual way from time to time (supergirl, ten, ryoko, mihoshi, ariel) but the powerpuff girls, NEVER! NEVER once, i couldnt even fathom it. now
Ms. Bellum, thats another story...

hahaha. peace.

I think Buttercup's bound to be really cute like that when she's OLDER MUCH OLDER :) I like tomboys :o

Calhoun07
06-02-2001, 03:24 PM
hey, no harm was intended in the word "sexiest" being used! I though the levity of the poll would be evident by the inclusion of Mojo JoJo! Oh, well. I should have used "cutest" instead, but the poll wouldn't have been funny then with Mojo's inclusion. Oh well, I was in a wierd mood last night anyway, as I think everybody was, especially when a certain poster got on who is now gone!

Now, for those who voted Mojo as the sexiest....gotta wonder there! LOL!

....and I drool and just go...."Supergirl....." Bruce Timm knows how to make great animated women! I know I am not the only one who finds Dana a little sexy in the opening credits on Batman Beyond, when she is doing that dance. A LOT of people on the Batman Beyond newsgroup (in the days before I knew about this board) commented on that one!

I must admit that thre are some pretty cute animated girls though. Ten, Ayeka, and some others.

Yeah, I think it's normal to pine after animated creation. I bet alot of people will be drooling for the animated characrter in FINAL FANTASY this summer.

Animated characters, particularly female ones, are often both exciting and attractive.

This is an interesting phenomenon, if you ask me. Do you think males in other countries are like this? And how about females? Do they see animated men and think, WOW?

Well, after their seduction of the Rowdyruff Boys and their little...ahem...display in "Candy is Dandy", I'm inclined to think those girls are growing up kind of fast. I do like Buttercup's voice, though--listen to E.G. deliver her lines as Mange in "Super Zeroes" or imitating Him in "Best Rainy Day Adventure Ever". What a set of pipes on her!

Depends. I have noticed several male characters as being particularly handsome. But due to some issues of my own, it's worse with pretty boys like Duo Maxwell from Gundam, and Ishida Yamato and Ichijouji Ken from Digimon... Or the crossdressers... Nuriko from Fushigi Yugi, Tsubasa from Ranma 1/2, "James" from Pokemon.

It's probably not very common that people find animated men REALLY hot. They're not drawn to be. Most animated women have a good deal of "jiggle" to them: large breasts and butts, nice figures, etc. But how many animated MEN have you seen with a bubble butt or even a hint of a bulge? *can count them on one hand with several fingers amputated* Especially in the anime I've seen, the men are often kinda scrawny (ex- Tenchi).

Calhoun07
06-06-2001, 06:44 PM
Not to mention that anime men often look femine or gay, or both!

Bud 'n Lou

Gee, I hope not ALL gay men are effeminate, cause then I might as well be straight! :-P

It's simply that people don't want to answer a simple question honestly without fear of being labeled a child pervert (however forms of beastiality are quite acceptable).

They are not really kids - in the same way that Daphne from Scooby Doo isn't a woman. They're are cartoons - 2D depictions of character. They don't even look that much like kids - no more than the characters from an early final fantasy game!

I think 'sexist' is a poor description (as Calhoun07 admitted earlier) as there isn't any sex there - they're all pretty androgynous - but you can say which base character type is the more attractive. Do you like toy-boy females, sweet timid females, dominating females or rabid monkeys?

Seems a lot of fuss over nothing here...

Of course, I do think Mojo is the sexiest but that's beside the point (the turban and cape do it for me ;) )

--SJJ has a good point. I mean, physically the PPGs aren't sexual objects, being cartoon children...but as I've said before, Buttercup has a sexy voice. Something about that slight adolescent-sounding crack in it gets me. The actress who voices her is a hot little number, as you can see from this link:
http://www.egdaily.com/ .

Oh, for the love of Emil Sitka. Next you'll tell me Him is a sexy devil....

and let's not forget Batman's very own Batgirl Tara Strong (http://www.tarastrong.com/) as the bubbly Bubbles.....

Ironic, in light of this whole conversation, that the voice artists for the PPG are actually quite fit (having not seen Blossoms VA i'm guess she's not bad looking either!)?

I agree that EG Daily has a cool husky!

really, pee-wee's girlfriend from Peewees big adventure is buttercups voice. yeesh. you'd never expect that. anyway, i have a sollution to your problem of nobody answering your poll.....Add Ms. Bellum, Sedusa, and Him (shudder) to the poll. If that's the criteria, then you must add Bunny to the list as well - i'm sure people will leap at the chance to place her as 'Sexiest PPG' :)

I was only kidding about the kiddie porn thing before, guys. Seriously. Didn't mean to stir anyone up.

And I agree about Sedusa and E.G. Did you see her in "Dogfight"? River Phoenix and Lily Taylor were in it, and E.G had a small role. In it, a group of military friends have a bet -- the one to bring the ugliest girl to a bar as their date wins a certain amount of money. E.G. was one of the dates, and had no teeth in the movie. I felt really bad for those girls, and get sad whenever I think about it. :-C

How's THAT for a tangent? :-D

If you want to get technical about it, Mojo's their half-brother (he was mutated by the same chemical explosion that birthed them, which was his fault; he shoved Utonium into the Chemical X vat).

What of Princess? She aspired to be a PPG...but she's far from sexy. Or well-mannered, or disciplined, or nice....

'sexiest' huh?
well, all pre-pubescent kiddie porn jokes aside, I'd definately have to go with Buttercup. She's tough, don't take no crap and loves to party (just checkout 'Boogie Frights').
And as for the, well, I guess the word would be 'fetish', attraction towards animated female (or male, your choice) characters, I must admit I fall into that catagory as well.
I have had a 'crush' on both Harley Quinn and Dot Matrix since I first saw them. Of course Dot is a TAD bit more acceptable since she is a 3D character, not cel animation, but, DAMN, that Harley is one groovy chick!

"What do you think, Mouse. Does it make me look too butch?"
"C'mon puddin'. Don't you wanna rev up your Harley?"

And speaking of EG, she also does the voice of 'Tommy' on Rugrats.
Not that this has ANYTHING to do with the poll.
Also, since Him was mentioned, which is better; the 'normal' Him that you always see, or the full-blown demonic Him you get to see in 'Speed Demons'?

Man, sure are getting a lot of PPG responses on a Bat message board, but hey...I love them little girls. No, not like that. I may be a freak from Arkansas, but I do have my limits!:D

"So once again the day is saved, thanks to Mojo Jojo!"
"Cuurrrrrrrrseeessss!"
"You saved the day!"
"No I didn't!"
"Sure. You gave the girls their ball back!"
"I said I didn't!"
"Ok, ok. Sheesh, talk about a grumpy monkey!"

Ok, I've had a couple of days to think it over, and my answer is:
Blossom. BUT...not the Blossom you all know and love, but the 'grown-up' Blossom from 'Criss-Cross Crisis' where she occupied Ms. Sara Bellum's body (I just LOOOOVE that name!).
Otherwise, Buttercup is still my favorite.

I admit I've had crushes on male cartoon characters: Van Fanel of Escaflowne, Michaelangelo (he's a party dude), Terry McGinnis, and most recently--DG's previous avatar <<sex-E!>>

My friend says Peter Parker is hot, but I think he looks a little too much like KEN.

You are correct, sir! In fact, most boys in animation are voiced by women--i.e. Rocky the flying squirrel, Bart Simpson, and Ash Ketchum from Pokemon. Which gets us into the whole yuri/yaoi aspect of v/o. I mean, if Ash and Misty did start pitching woo, it'd be amusing to consider that's a couple of women together, in a way. Conversely, there's an air of homoerotic pedophilia in liking the sound of a female actress voicing a boy! Though Veronica Taylor has a nice set of pipes on her--just today I heard her sing on a Karaokemon segment, and I was thinking she could record an entire CD, like E.G. has. I've heard the actress who voices Misty and Jessy in the dub rap as well, but it might be nice to hear her really sing, maybe even record a track with V.T.-- a revamped "Misty's Love Song", perchance?

Rocky's into effeminate pretty-boys, but for my money I like a hairy, beefy, sleazy male hero who can cuss, smoke, drink, woo dames, and kick a**. I've considered a Wolverine avatar for that reason--not the Evolution version, but a comic-book style Wolvie, with sideburns, stubble, and maybe a huge stoagie in his gob. I have yet to find one, so I'm holding on to my Bob Dylan cover avvy until I can get the bugger on a floppy disc, or find a pic I like more.

It's even more muddled when a show deliberately panders to the yaoi crowd and you're dealing with a potential couple voiced by women. Last month's Animedia showed pix of the season 2 regulars from Digimon. All women except for TaKeru.

It seems a lot more widespread in the original animes, though. Not 100% sure on this, but Goku on my DBZ fansubs sounds like a female VA. I think it's a combination of a male character's age and innocence that determine the use of a female VA in Japan. "Ash" is voiced by a woman, "Gary" isn't.

yes, it's amazing the number of 'boy' characters who are voiced by females. from what i've understood, it's all due to the whole puberty thing. no one wants a male child character to suddenly switch voices midseason. heck, bart simpson's been voiced by a female from the beginning.

True. Though on Animaniacs, Skippy Squirrel was voiced by young Nathan Ruegger (his old man was producer Tom). When his voice started to change right about ep #70, they covered it up by electronically pitching it higher. Oddly appropriate they let him play Yoda in the Star Wars parody, with his cracking voice and all. Later on Histeria he was the voice of Froggo, who sounded like a baby Dr. Claw--quite a departure from the Skipster!

Yes, I guess neverending could never be, as the poll is now closed. I see lil Bubbles only got two votes and Buttercup got the most votes (for actual Powerpuff GIRLS) but Mojo, as predicted, came out on top. At least in this poll, he can defeat those CURSED POWERPUFF GIRLS!
