I was just doing some random google-ing, and I tried Venture Brothers DVD. I stumbled onto something awesome. I don't know if these are real, but it sure does look cool as hell. I found the cover art pics for Venture Bros. Vol. 1.(I don't know if these are the correct pics that are going to be on there or not.) Even if these aren't, they are still some cool pics.

wow that looks pretty good, nice design of the packaging. I know I'm definitely buying that when it gets released. That Helper toy doesn't look too shabby either. Nice find.

I saw the handbook of calamitous intent or something along with it. I don't really remember what it is called, but I think that It comes with it.

I kind of like the foldout cases, less packaging = better for the environment. Plus, there is less stuff to slip out since it is all together. Finally, it's thinner than a standard 3 disc set, and maybe even thinner than a 3 disc thinpak box set. More shelf space = good.

Damn this is awesome. Has there been a release date set for the set?

It may be just the packaging design that is ready.

As I said, I don't know if this is the actual cover art for it. I just stumbled onto it. It may be the real art, or not I don't know. I just thought that I would share it with you all since it is so cool.

I highly doubt someone from the University of Oregon would be desiging the packaging for a Venture Brothers DVD case that comes out quite some time from now. Looking over the site, the VB DVD design looks like it's just a design project.
We did them all the time in Quark class, although not nearly as elaborite and realistic as these turned out. Whoever made them did a fantastic job.

I'll give whomever did it credit. It was nice enough to fool us. Maybe WS should implement some of those ideas for the real set.
When has WHV EVER done a 3-disc set? All Cartoon Network series boxsets (not the single-disc filler releases) have been 2-disc digipaks, and I assume it'll stay the same for Venture Brothers, Megas XLR, and the rest of Samurai Jack.

I knew the idea of three single spindles was a give away. If this was a real Warner Bros. 3-disc set, they would have used one of the new doublespindle trays.

Couldn't have fooled me. There's no WBHV logo on the side, let alone a code number. The DVD label has the 'VIDEO' wording on the inside of the oval, which WB no longer has on their releases, as it is on the outside, under the oval.
Inside the box, the DVD logo is surrounded by a box on the plastic. WB doesn't have these on their releases. On the back, it does not list whether it is widescreen or fullscreen in the rectangle spanning the back width.
The discs do not contain the emblem of WBHV anywhere on them, nor the logos of Adult Swim or the Cartoon Network.
And, last, the barcode on the back would be on the top right if it were a real WBHV release. I should know, as more than one-third of my DVD collection is comprised of WBHV releases.
EDIT: Oh, yeah, and if it's a WBHV box set, where are the tabs?

Am I the only person who likes digi-paks? Assuming they're high quality of course.
South Park.
The Matrix Experience.
OK, lemme rephrase that. When has WHV ever done a Cartoon Network 3-disc boxset?

I like digipaks too, though I like the kind used for the Transformers G1 releases rather than the ones used for CN shows. Though I must admit I kinda like thinpaks a bit more. (Though not enough to change each and every DVD case to one, like some people do.)

Um, Samurai Jack?
Um, Samurai Jack?
Samurai Jack is 2 discs. It's the same layout package-wise as the AS shows (well, to be more specific, it's more like SG Vol. 1).

Um, Samurai Jack? You made yourself look bad. But, it happens. But, check out Wacky Races. It's a 3-disc box set.
Edit: It's not from Cartoon Network, is it? Nope. I just made myself look bad.

I have no problem with digipaks, so long as they don't use those tabs that cling to the DVD so tightly that some of the tabs break off and you can't put the disc back in without it coming loose. Digipaks save a lot of shelf space. WBHV doesn't use traditional black plastic DVD cases because they're cheap-asses. It's either digipaks for TV sets or snapper cases for individual releases. Those snappers tick me off.

Haha, that'd be tight if the actual DVD release came with the Official Guild of Calamitous Intent Handbook!

Yes, I like the digipaks, too.
