Well, today I got to meet one of my favorite animation voice-over actors. Here's the story...

Today I went to Best Buy to pick myself up a new game. As I'm standing on the line, a man asks me if I like Family Guy (Since I was wearing a Quagmire T-Shirt). I told him yes. Then he told me that he does a few voices on Family Guy. To my suprise it was none other than Johnny Brennan (One half of the Jerky Boys/voice of Mort Goldman on Family Guy)! Me and him then proceded to talk for about ten minutes. He then asked me for my mailing address so he can send me some free things. I tell you though, he was a real class act.

Along with Johnny B, I have also met a few wrestlers. I have met Julio Dinero, D'Lo Brown, Al Snow, The Hurricane, and Mick Foley. I have also interviewed a few wrestlers for a wrestling blog I contribute to. So far, I have interviewed Steve Corino, Frankie Kazarian, and the author of the book WrestleCrap, RD Reynolds. If you would like to view the interviews, go to The Dojo Of Wrestling Truth (http://wrestlingroundtable.blogspot.com).

We were in Santa Cruz for my brother's soccer tournament and my family and a few of my brother's friends went to a restaraunt. Some famous football player was there and he talked to us for a few minutes then asked if we'd be there in thirty minutes because he wanted to come back to talk. We were all thinking 'oh yeah right'. Sure enough, thirty minutes later he came back took pictures with my brother and his friends, signed autographs and chatted. I can't remember what his name was.... Probably because I have no interest whatsoever in football...no offence to any football lovers out there of course.

When I was eight I waved hello to Inside Edition's Barry Nolan before he went national.

I've seen the local sports guy for Boston (Bob Lobel) jogging near our church when I was younger.

And a couple of years ago I saw local newspaper columnist Mike Barnicle in a Dunkin Donuts. I pretended I didn't know who he was and asked him if we'd met before. Sucker.

Off the top of my head, I've met: Bruce Campbell, John Carpenter, Robert Picardo, Heather Langenkamp, Kevin Conroy, Danielle Harris, Tony Todd, Ernie Hudson, Marc Singer, Kathleen Kinmont, Kim Darby, George Siefert, and (almost) Huey Lewis. There's some others, but I can't think of them at the moment.

Grant Hill, Al Gore (though I AM NOT a democrat...I'ma Libertarian yay), Reggie White :( , most of the current Carolina Panthers, Kerry Collins, Dell Curry...I'm afraid my mind is just blank right now but I met a couple let me think on it a minute. I met all of the band members from the lostprophets, midtown, and eighteen visions, even spoke with Ian from the lostprophets for a good while one day. I suppose I know quite a few people in the gaming industry but that's more through online connections and they're probably only celebs to people in forums like TZ or IGN hehe.

I had a brief exchange with Hugh Jackman when he was leaving the theatre after his Boy From Oz show. The crowd was about 5 people deep, so I yelled over them, "WOLVERINE RULES!" he gave me a thumbs-up and said, "Thanks, man."

Christy Carlson Romano was getting out from Beauty And The Beast across the street as well, but I refrained yelling "KIM POSSIBLE RULES!" in front of all the young girls. I might have looked out-of-place. Hell, I don't even really like Kim Possible.

Any celebrities I've met were through Conventions, specifically the Wondercon and Wizard Con Phillie.

At Wondercon, I met that nerdy friend from the Wonder Years, whose name escapes me. I met Julie Newmar, she was very nice. I met Khan from the Wrath of Khan at the hotel I was staying in, and he was hilariously overdressed for the warm weather at that time; he was wearing quite the conspicuous disguise of a trechcoat, big glasses and hat, etc.

Wizard Con is where I've had the bulk of my celebrity encounters. I talked to the big guy who beat up George Clooney in Oceans 11. I met some Star Wars actors like Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), Kenny Baker (R2) and his wife, David Prowse (Darth Vader),Jeremy Bullock (Boba Fett), and some miscellaneous extras from the prequels. I'm too stingey and impatient to wait in lines for autographs from the big actors, but I made eye contact with Eliza Dushku, my parents happened to speak to Allison Mack (Chloe from Smallville) in a lobby while I was wandering around the convention floor :crying:, and I stood within a few feet of Kevin Smith, whose wife I said hello to at the View Askew booth (I think it was her). I could've sworn the bald comic, who had the movie review segment on the Daily Show for a while, walked past me as I was rushing through a crowd of people at the con too.

At both conventions I met the unkillable assassin from the X-Files.

I haven't met anybody... Well, when I went to the movies the other day and my mom said the guy we saw was one of the guys from Walker Texas Ranger.

My sister meets famous people all the time. She dated an NFL player! I wonder why I've never met anyone.

Edit: The only famous people I've met are the ones who visit this board. There are quite a few, but I suppose they aren't huge celebrities.

I met in 1989 John Delancy (Q from Star Trek) and a host of Other Celebrities, including Gates McFadden (Dr. Crusher from Star Trek The Next Generation) and of course I got stuck with Majel Barrett (Roddenberry all in the same con..)

in 1993 I got to see both Levar Burton and Marina Sirtis at a local (Monterey Califronia) sci fi convention..

Also I can tell you John Delancy isn't a Mean guy at all.. He's a decent fellow who was always curious about what people were doing..(So yeah you could say I and Mr. Delancy are two sides of the same Coin...

:coyote:

Edited Note: Also during the 89 Time Con Convention I met the folks from Dr. Who as well..(Teagan and that sargent ..(I Forget who played him in Dr. Who (3)'s Day...

I was working for a hospital for one summer, and they were having a special luncheon for us, and Queen Pen showed up along with who I believe is her manager. It was something about offering internships working for them.

Nothing on my end, unless I'm allowed to count Berke Breathed(and I should be, he's the greatest cartoonist in existence). My parents met Tonya Harding, though I found that more scary than exciting.

Um, well I took a dance class from Chris Judd (Jennifer Lopez's former husband, and winner of "I'm a celebrity, get me out of Here"). I've also taken some classes with some pretty famous ballet dancers, but most people have no idea who they are. Oh, and when I was 7, I saw "Pirates of Penzance", and the pirate king was played by the guy who did the voice of Gaston in "Beauty and the Beast", I saw him walking outside the theatre when I was taking a bathroom break.

The only real "celebrities" I've had the fortune of meeting are
Sébastien Lareau and Daniel Nestor, olympic gold medalists in doubles tennis. Nice fellas, they autographed a complimentary poster. My uncle (A big tennis buff) took me to an exhibition match

Mario Cantone, Chewbacca, the Gov. of NY, some ballplayers, Peter Jennings, various minor actors, the whole cast of Avenue Q., a few bands, and I think I'm missing some other people. I know I've met more celebs. I'll be meeting Bill Clinton pretty soon which is cool.

A girl that I went to school with up in Boston, her uncle is the manager of that one hit wonder group LFO and they came to my school (only into my class) before they were famous.

I think Michael McDonald from MAD TV was sitting a few seats down from me when I went to see Anchorman at the movie theaters up in Boston...I doubt/dunno if it was him though...

At my old school back up in Boston, some NFL player came and talked to us about drugs or something...

I saw former President Clinton waslking into Former MA Congressman Joe Moakley's funeral (I met Joe Moakely too)

That's all for me...

I'd LOVE to meet MAD TV's Debra Wilson! :D

I've met mostly musicians (and usually while dinking):

"Dimebag" Darrell in the Pantera days, Rob Zombie, Ozzy (for all of 5 minutes), Iron Maiden at a signing thing, Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater, and the band Fear Factory on 4 different occasions. All of these people were pretty cool, especially Burton from Fear Factory and Dimebag. One time years ago a friend and I saw Axl Rose, but neither of us felt like going up and talking to him :D

My family and I celebrated New Year's Eve with The Elms, which was cool. (Not just personally, I mean, they did a concert that ended at 11:45. But we did shake hands and talk and hug and stuff after midnight.)

Pretty much everyone from Earthsuit, Mute Math, and Macrosick. My family got a better chance with the members of Macrosick, though, although I did get a surprising phone call that night. :D It was cool when we talked to Paul Meany and he told us about Earthsuit leaving Sparrow Records, which we weren't supposed to mention to anyone at the time.

Jeff Frankenstein and Phil Joel of the Newsboys were eating in a restaurant a few hours before one of their concerts, and after a double-take (we saw them from the street, through the restaurant's large window), my family and I invaded their privacy with CDs to sign.

I was pretty young at the time, but there's a picture of me and my brother with George the Animal Steele, so I guess it must have happened.

I met Flash Funk (the wrestler) when he was called in for backup because Owen Hart and The British Bulldog couldn't make it to the autograph signing. Kinda sad, really, since everyone was leaving when they heard the news. We had a brief chat, since the line was dissipating.

I don't think I got too close to him, but The Rock was signing autographs in a stationery store a block away from me once, before he got really big.

Oh, and Santa.

The only one I've met was Dave Attell making a Virgin Megastore appearance when he was in town. Very cool guy. I ALMOST got to meet the voice actors from the Animaniacs, but my friends and I got to the mall too late to meet them. I'll never forget hearing Rob Paulsen say "Narf!" for the fans.

And while I didn't meet them, my friend from Michigan says he met The White Stripes during this past New Years bash in Detroit.

Oh, and I also met He-Man and Skeletor at a special little event our local Toys R Us did when I was about six or so. :D

I've never met any. Although, a celebrity came to my High School when I was in 12th to talk about drugs. However, I am practicially related to a celebrity. Clarke Gable(I'm not sure of the spelling, that's the best I can think of). But yeah, he went to school with a Great Aunt, and he proposed to her even.

Okay, I just have to be the one to ask:

Did you know she was Lucy Liu at the time, or were you just hitting on a girl you thought was cute? Or was it both? Were you purposefully hitting on Lucy Liu with the knowledge that she was Lucy Liu?

Because if you were, well, that's pretty ballsy. I'd have to tip my hat in your general direction.

Well, I knew Erik Estrada's sister in high school; she was a teacher there.

And I took a picture with Mayor Menino, the mayor of Boston. Though I'm pretty sure if you asked him about it, he would say "who?"

That's as close to any celebrities that I've ever been (at least knowingly).

Ohh, I did meet Arnold Schwartzenegger once. He was... oh wait, that was a dream.

Nice work RR haha. Though MTV at a DNC party...no suprise there...as a libertarian, I think they need to keep their agenda to themselves, stop giving stupid teens information from only one view point and play music instead... Anyways

Ya I'm not so sure I'd want to get involved with too many celeb girls but there's a couple... either way, I'd definitely hit on them if I saw them just to see what I can do lol :) .

Saw Pink last time I was out in L.A. going to the clubs. I forgot that I knew a childhood friend of hers, I might've talked to her.

I have a friend who goes out with Trishelle from the Real World/Surreal Life every so often. He's also out in L.A. living up the rockstar life and runs into celebrities on a pretty regular basis.

I will be keeping my fingers crossed for my next trip out there. :p

A long time ago when I was growing up in Chicago I met former Vice President Dan Quayle when he came to our neighborhood. Last year at an ice cream shop opening I met Raleigh Mayor Charles Meeker, who was giving out free scoops to people.

I usually head back to Chicago every summer for a bit, and usually it's during Taste of Chicago, and I've met lots of people there. I've seen television star and producer Bill Kurtis at the A&E booth once. I also met musician Alan Parsons after a performance he had at the festival. And a month ago I met both members of Local H after a performance at a Raleigh concert hall.

I've got a big list of sports people I've met - Bob Love, Ozzie Smith, George Brett, Frank Thomas, Quentin Richardson, Eddy Curry, Rocco Baldelli, etc. But the biggest one I've probably met would be Ray Meyer, the fomer coach of DePaul men's basketball and one of the all-time win leaders in college sports.
