in almost every episode it seems like Bender has some new wacky use or thing inside of him so what are they all and how is it all possible? :confused: heres a few I can think of

1) bender
2) hand as wrench
3) toilet :eek:
4) spraypaint head
5) a carjack thing
6) boiler
7) popcorn maker
8) beer brewery
9) head as camera
10) arms and head as film projector
11) Pepper grinder.
12) Rail car.
13) Grill.
14) Cassette recorder.

17) Shiny metal ass as a rolling pin.

I'm not sure if it counts either-- more of a general function as a result of being a humanoid robot than a funky gadget that's only possible because he's mechanical-- but as I recall, he CAN use his shiny metal ass as a rolling pin.

It must be loads of fun for the writers getting to give Bender a new ability every episode. Kinda like how Kif eventually gains the ability to camoflauge himself, climb on walls like a toad, get pregnant through skin contact, etc., and Dr. Zoidberg starts being able to squirt ink in the second season or so I believe.

So, if Bender can pretty much do anything then why is he classified as a Bending robot? Because in the first episode he gets a little shock that changes his programming. Secondly if you watch the first episode and Why of Fry thre is a theme in the show of people choosing their own destiny.

No, in that same scene he pulled a little box with a radar dish out of his stomach to determine the sexual orientation of some of Leela's suitors. However, that seemed more like a product that he owned than a function of his own mechanical body. Presumably if Fry wanted to detect gaiety, he could buy his own gaydar.
