informative (to a point) :D
Oh boy.
"Most of the time we license shows from companies that have picked up the US distribution rights." How else do they do it?

They could fund its creation with the Japanese company, like Big O II.

If you didn't work for Adult Swim, what would you most want to be doing?
I'd be a private dancer. A dancer for money.

Reading that reminded me of a SGC2C interview for some reason.
And yes, she is hott. With two Ts.

She's more along the lines of a refined individual. With a sence of humor. I'm not sure hot would fit. Then again I'm fifteen.
Nice to know the trustworthy person behind programming.

You must have messed up that last part or something.Ironic that I went back and changed from what I originally put...in which you now later changed to your liking to screw with me. You'll pay.
I'm surrounded by hot girls my age everyday, I could tell stories of instances that would leave you in a faux feeling of rambunctious wetdreams. Residue of your aftermath an embarrasing sight.

I didn't quite understand all of that, but I will say this. You are just out of control dude.
Oh, and Kim mentioned over at the as.com forums that Williams Street is looking at picking up another anime title for summer 2005. There were a few other tidbits she posted about as well. It seems there will be several episodes of Perfect Hair together (though she didnt say if it was a special event or a full blown new series). She also mentioned that GitS has been averaging about 405,000 viewers since its premiere and that WS is very pleased with its performance.

She also said in July, Lupin III averaged at 255,000 viewers 18-34 on its weeknight run,

Oh hey! I asked Kim a couple questions about Case Closed and Perfect Hair Forever and this is what she came back with:
I don't have the Case Closed numbers handy - but we still have the rights, and we'll continue to air what we have. There are no current plans to pick up more episodes, but programming is very fickle, and like any other programming answer I've given, that could always change.
As for Perfect Hair Forever - the crew is working on some episodes. Williams St is pretty crazy, so who knows how many, or if they'll ever air... but the plan now is to air six episodes in summer 2005.
Edit: The news about PHF is cool. But the Case Closed bit kinda bites.

Ah! It makes sense! Perfect sense! Only a hardcore otaku would buy the straight dub of milk-chan, any one who ran an anime rental business before hitting AS would have to be very hard core into anime. It all makes so much more sense now.
Meanwhile, more Perfect Hair Forever, if it ever hits the air, should be funny/terrifying. It'd be sad, but very funny if Squidbillies never got off the ground, but PHF ran for 52 episodes on accident.

Purple hair Forever
I missed the initial airing and never saw anime talk show either
so are they going to ever air the first episode again?
I dunno what's freakier. That she named one of her cats "Astrid", or that she named one of her fish "Argh!"...

I don't know why we're discussing her hottness, but in my opinion, she has a lot of potential, but she needs to get contacts and change her hairstyle. She's like one of those nerds in one of those movies where everyone thinks she's a dork and then she gets a makeover cause one of the guys on the football team loses a bet and has to go out with her but then he realizes that after the makeover she's really hot.

In other words, movies starring Freddie Prinze, Jr.

So she confirmed that GitS met or exceeded AS expectations and that Case Closed didn't. We already knew AS was buying the GitS 2nd GIG but it sucks that they won't be getting any more Case Closed episodes.
Lupin pulled 255K? Interesting, but Lupin fans shouldn't get their hopes up for new ones. It's like Case Closed. Enough viewers to justify reruns of what they already have but not enough to justify buying more.
Interesting news about them maybe getting another new anime series for '05. Let the speculation begin!!! I'm still wondering, though, if they will decide to buy the rest of the Inuyasha episodes. They're this far into the series so why not go all the way?
Perfect Hair Forever may get more episodes? Well, maybe they can make the next ones funny. They succeeded in making Tom funny and they had less to work with there. (^_*)

I think the announcement that there's more Sealab on the way proves that ratings don't meant quite as much as [as] knocks them up to be, nor the shills here try to claim.
I offer the renewal of Sealab into evidence--here's a show that has a new show as it's lead-in and a proven ratings anchor as its follow-up, had a brace of new episodes and couldn't crack the top 3 once.
Meanwhile, Venture Bros. is expected to pull ATHF numbers in its first season to earn a second, and consistently hangs in the top 3 on Saturday against 2 new shows.
No, I somehow doubt ratings are as big a motivator as one expects. Nor is logic or taste, apparently.

Whether a show makes the "Top 3" is irrelevant. It is the actual numbers that are most important. Plus, ratings are not the only factors in a show's renewal. Production cost, DVD sales, licensing, etc. also plays a role.

Ratings is important, just not as important as cost. Futurama is the second highest rated show on Adult Swim, yet it won't get new episodes because it's too expensive. Venture Brothers is a lot more expensive than Sealab. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if we got another season of Tom Goes to the Mayor just because it's ridiculously cheap to make(unless it's one of those shows that just looks ridiculously cheap when it's actually really expensive).
Whether a show makes the "Top 3" is irrelevant. It is the actual numbers that are most important.
Then why have top 3 ratings cards at all? Besides which Maune, if you're show's being toasted by the Brak Show, I think it's safe to say you're not doing well. There's honestly only so much spin you can do here, and all of it falls apart under the slightest kind of analysis. Sorry man, I just don't buy it.
Plus, ratings are not the only factors in a show's renewal. Production cost, DVD sales, licensing, etc. also plays a role.
So cheap crap will always win out, then? Then why even bother making anything of quality? Never mind which, considering the amount of Sealab DVDs I see warming shelves in every video store I go to . . .well, that can't be the reason.
Cost, I could see tho. Considering the show looks and has all the effort $1.95 can offer, conceivably it could last forever I guess.
God, what a nightmare.
Venture Brothers is a lot more expensive than Sealab.
EVERYTHING is more expensive than Sealab, but this idea that VB is so much more expensive than everything else on [as] and thus must be graded on a curve I thought was torpedoed earlier this month.
Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if we got another season of Tom Goes to the Mayor just because it's ridiculously cheap to make(unless it's one of those shows that just looks ridiculously cheap when it's actually really expensive).
Considering the voice talent on that show, I would guess that's their main expense.

The rating numbers DO matter more than the 'ranking'. If VB got 500,000 viewers but was in 4th place, that would be better than getting 100,000 viewers and being in first.

The whole ratings-card-thing is just for fun. It's WS' way of talking to the fans some more, though I do think it should be expanded to the Top 5.

See: Reality television. Hell, the only reason there's all these crime dramas on CBS is because of CSI's success.

But hold on now. . .assuming that the ranking is done by "which 3 shows over the whole night got the best numbers," that surely some indicator vis a vis "what's getting the most ratings?"

Then more the fools us for making a big deal out of it. *shrugs* In any case, I doubt very seriously Sealab is some kind of well-kept secret success to the degree it justifies more episodes leadening Sunday (Maybe they keep it alive as an Atlanta thing) All I know is, [as] seems to have a penchant for double standards, because what they say and what they do seem to very different things.

Well, sh*t may be a fact of life, but you can either add to the pile or flush the toilet. It wouldn't kill someone in television to make a bid to up the quality of programming on the dial, lord knows is certainly hasn't been tried.

But all that's good for is bragging rights. Unless the shows are meeting their intended stay-on-the-air threshold, what's the point of who "won" the night?

Wow, it'll definately be interesting to see more Perfect Hair. It did have funny moments, and it has a lot of potential with a little work.
Argh, huh? I had a katydid named Uh-oh and a fish named "misplaced".

Ugh! Ugh! Ugh! Are you insane? There's almost nothing on earth sexier than glasses and the nerdier, the better. Short-ish hairstyles are great, too. I despise the type of story you speak of more than virtually any other. The girls are always hideously unappealing after the makeover (the whole makeup and glamour thing is an instant turn-off) and that "realization" has exactly the opposite of its intended effect: it MAKES the guy appear a shallow jackass.

Hmmmm...I will admit that glasses CAN be sexy. However, those wide, short glasses she has, whatever they're called, are definitely not sexy. And yes short-ISH hair can be sexy. It all depends on the style, but she just doesn't have the style. I mean, honestly, that haircut kind of makes her look like a guy. And no, I don't actually like those makeover movies. Does anyone really like those movies besides teenage girls?

Get a better haircut, a chin that doesn't seem to jut, braces on your teeth... and maybe we can talk.
Really a big strong average looking person to me.
PS: Aren't those glasses called horned-rimmed? I dunno. Usually they are mega-cute but they're also usually not as tall.
