Michael Spicer
Michael Spicer is a contract assassin with a past consisting entirely of unknown peoples and events. No one knows anything about him or where he came from, apart from the fact that he will literally stop at nothing in order to complete his assignments...and so get his massive pay cheques.

Aside from his vicious and unforgiving nature, there is little that is exceptional about Michael. He has looks so ordinary that it would be hard to point him out even in an identity parade, and he has no significant superpowers with which to take down his targets. However, years of constant training have given him unequalled skill in assassin-craft, and in those rare occasions when he is forced to fight he can still get the better of most opponents.

He may be just a human being, but Michael is still not a man to be messed with…

Bushido
Alias:Ryuko Orsono

Samurai, it is a name that evokes the imagination of the western mind. These noble warriors held the tradition of Japan paramount to their ideals. They were a great power in the long forgotten times of Japan, but as time went on stronger weapons were crafted and the military might of the Bushi or Samurai was no longer needed. They gracefully stepped into the shadows to cease from existence.

But there were some that didn’t give up. Bushido, the ancient warrior’s code of the samurai, was the name for a sect of vigilantes who protected Japan into its more modern days. Ryuko Orsono, the latest of the Bushido has dedicated his life to protecting all of Japan’s citizens. The weapons he uses are of traditional Japanese origins.

He is a reluctant killer but a killer either way. He does all he can to protect his people, by whatever means possible. He prides his honor, valor and righteousness above all other things. He moves with stealth through the slums of Tokyo, to the secluded forests. He is known as no more than a rumor to his people. But has seceretly taken down crime lords to demons, all without being noticed.

IC: Slade





Pacing around my base, I glared at the clock. 3:27 AM. I hadn't slept in days. There are too many thoughts going through my head. Glaring at my wrist, I pressed the button on it. 5 TV monitors flickered to life. Each of them revealing one of the Teen Titans. Just seeing them made me tense in pure and unmerciful hatred. The Titans all went into battle positions and charged, each of them taking out 3 or more of my Sentinels. The Titan's had no trouble obliterating my henchmen.



I need something more. Something that can take them down with no problems whatsoever, someone who will obey me, someone I can actually call my true apprentice. Someday, I will destroy the Teen Titans. I will watch them all fall one by one. I will see them die.



These thoughts swirled through my head as I took a seat on a chair nearby, and dozed off into a deep sleep.

IC: Blackfire



Location: Prison on the Third moon of Dantari

3:57 AM (by Earth reckoning)



I stare across the prison cell at my cellmate, a Dantarian convict. He stares blankly back at me for a moment, and then makes a positively disgusting noise and regurgitates a small quantity of green something on the prison floor. I really need to make sure that next time I get transferred to another prison, it’s not on Dantari. I hate this place. If I ever get out, little Koriand’r is going to pay, and pay big. I stick my tongue out at a guard as he walks past. He gives me a funny look, but other than that does nothing. I roll my eyes at him and look at the door. If only it (and the bars) weren’t electric barbed wire. Oh, and did I mention that the door was as thick as that Beast Boy’s head? Electric barbed wire. How original. I hear voices echoing down the hall, and pause to listen.


“What about that Tamaranian girl?”

“They’re takin’ her in for the experiments; see what kinda genes give those Tamaranian nuts their little ‘bolts.’”

“But I thought that experiment was the one that killed the last four-”

“Shiddap. It is, but nobody else is gonna know that, ‘kay? They’re doing it tonight, so keep your trap shut.”

I feel my heart stop for a moment. Kill me? No half-witted Dantarian son of a zarbnarf is going to kill me. I hear the voices again:

“We’d better go get her now, huh?”
“Yep.”

Footsteps start down the hall, coming toward my cell. I stand up and grab the bars, feeling the jolt course through my body, but I don’t care. I am sick of always being the one who gets the fuzzy end of the lollipop, as they say on Earth. I should have been the princess, not little Kori the idiot. If my plans had worked, she would be the one with the guards coming for her right now. I wrench the door off its hinges, feeling the barbs dig into my skin, and hurl it at the guards. I miss, but at least now I’m free. I feel the energy build at my fingertips.
Thrusting my left hand forward, I shoot a blackbolt at one of the guards. It hits him full in the face, pushing him into his partner. I punch the air in silent victory while rising into the starless sky.


Time Change: 5:52 AM



Freedom. Oh, how I’ve missed it, I realize. Cooped up in prisons all over the galaxy, I’ve forgotten the taste of fresh air. Earth air. This thought sparks my anger once again. I would have tasted this air so much sooner if it hadn’t been for little Koriand’r. Breaking out of prison was so easy it was slightly pathetic. I put on a burst of speed. There’s only one place for me right now. Only one place that I can get revenge.
Look out, little Starfire, I think, and enjoy the rest of your short life. Titan’s Tower isn’t far from where I am right now, and when I get there, it won’t be pretty.

(In Character) Raven:

I wonder if it's possible to get a good night's sleep with Beast Boy in the building. I stalk down the hallway leading from my room to the living room, mumbling about the yell that had woken me. I hadn't even had time to meditate before giving in to the strong urge to give Beast Boy a good kick in the rear end.

The metal door "swishes" open as I approach and I walk into the living room. I could have known. GameStation. Beast Boy and Cyborg sat on the couch, playing the GameStation (quite noisily, I might add). Beast Boy let out another loud yell as Cyborg defeated him in a robo-battle.

"Beast Boy," I whisper menacingly. He jumps out of his seat, turning to face me. I smile to myself slightly, seeing him cringe at my peircing stare.

"Um, yeah," he asks sheepishly.

"Stop. Yelling." I turn grumpily toward the kitchen to get my herbal tea.

"Why are you so grumpy this morning?" asked Beast Boy irritably.

I ignore him and begin to prepare my tea. The truth is, I don't know why I'm especially grumpy today. Could it be the fact that I didn't get a good night sleep, or is it that feeling of foreboding tugging at the back of my mind?

Time: 9:37 a.m

'Gosh, why won't these people leave me alone? Well... I guess I know...' I think as I turn onto yet another street. But theres something different about this street. Its darker and gloomier than all the others. I lean up against a dusty, old building and slowly slink down until I'm sitting down.

I put my head in my hands and think about all the horrible things that I have done.

"You know what," I say after a long while as i stand up, "I don't regret a thing that I did. I had more power as Slade's apprentice than I ever had with those stupid Titans!"

I hear something moving down the alley across the street from me. I run across the street and down the alleyway. I look around as I reach the end and see nothing. So, I pull a peice of the already cracked cement out of the alley's floor and fly over the wall, jump off and run after the black mass that had been eavesdropping on me. It fades into the ground of a busy street and I know what will happen if the city people see me. The immature ones will try to beat the hound out of me.

So, i head back to the dark and seemingly vancant road I was at earlier and sit down on a crate, it breaking under my weight. I think about all the things that slade taught me and as all the thoughts progress... I realize that i want to go back.

"Why did I ever leave? I'm such an idiot!" I scream as I make yet another empty crater in the cement as I fly away on a huge peice of earth to find my former Master, Slade.

Cyborg:

I sit on the couch, controller in hand. My thumbs fly over the various buttons and joysticks. I lean forward a little in anticipation- I had BB cold, I could feel it. He threw one last punch at me but I was expecting it. I grab the outstreched arm and use it for leverage as I smash BB's 'bot into the ground. K.O'd flashes across the screen Beast Boy yells in exasperation as I grin, my ego boosted.

"Beast Boy..." Raven's voice whispers menacingly behind us. She isn't talking to me, but her tone still makes me decidedly nervous. Beast Boy gulps and spins around, green skin paling slightly.

"Umm... yeah?" he asks sheepishly


"Stop. Yelling." she says pointedly as she turns grumpily into the kitchen, probably to make that nasty tea.

"Why are you so grumpy this morning?" asked BeastBoy irritably. I give him a look that shouts "Don't push her" quite clearly. He takes my unspoken advice and adds nothing more to that statement. Beast Boy leans down to grab his controller for another round. "Uhhh... actually, BB, I'm kinda hungry. Let's finish this later," I spit out hastily. If we start playing again while she's in this mood, Raven might accidentally-on-purpose blow up the Gamestation or something.

I walk over to the fridge, sidestepping around Raven. I open it and search through it for anything NOT vegan, but come up empty. BB must've found that hidded cache of real eggs, I think to myself in annoyance. Unless...

I run back up to my room, breezing by Starfire and Robin who are on their way to the living room. "'Scuse me, Star 'n Robin," I say rapidly as I sprint up the stairs. I skid into my room and open one of the many steel cuboards- only this isn't a cuboard; it's a mini-fridge. I move a wall of strategically-placed cans of soda and grab my emergency stash of bacon. I grin gleefully, then run back downstairs. I skid back into the kitchen and grab a frying pan and a spatula off the counter. BeastBoy, seeing what I'm unwrapping, makes a face.

"Gross... I thought I chucked all that crap," he says, attempting to snatch it out of my hands. I dodge, then grab him by the nape of his purple and black jumpsuit.

"No one comes between a man and his bacon, especially not you and your tofu," I say triumphantly, dropping him as soon as my bacon is safe. I finally manage to get the shrinkwrap off it, peeling off as many slices of meaty goodness as I can fit in my pan. The sound and smell of sizzling bacon soon fill the air. My mouth starts to water, but BB gets greener and greener. Finally, he can't take it anymore- he runs for the relative safety of his room. I chuckle a bit, then, seeing that it's done, smoothly shovel the pieces onto a plate.

"Hey, Cyborg- can I have few?" Robin asks me. I hand him a few pieces to munch on, then sit, ready to stuff my face. I am about to take my first bite of a tofu-free breakfast when-

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP

The crime alert siren blares, all lights in the Tower flashing red.

"Titans, trouble!" Robin shouts and makes for the door, closely followed by Raven and Starfire. The door whooshes open as BeastBoy bursts out, wrinkling his nose at the still-present smell of bacon. Robin turns to go, then turns back, probably realizing that I'm not there. The rest of the Titans look at me.

"Tell them I'll be happy to kick their butts- AFTER I'm done with my bacon," I say, staring longingly at my treat. Their glares intensify as I sit there for another second, then I sigh and get up. They head for my baby as I follow close behind, munching on a piece of bacon. Why didn't villains ever wait until AFTER breakfast?

10:12 AM

IC: Slade



After my first good rest in four days, I jerk awake. My gaze focuses, and I recognize the area around me. I had fallen asleep in the control room. I had left the TV monitors all night. They were still flickering of different pictures. Cars passing by, people walking down the street, nothing abnormal. Then I saw her. It was Terra. My fists clenched in anger.



She's alive. Prepostorous. I don't know how she came back to life, but I sure as hell know how she's dying.



My thumb pressed a button on my chair, and the door opened before me. A small group of my sentinels, about 15 of them are visible. I dash into my weaponry room. I grab 3 exploding disks, my staff, and most importantly my mask. The one thing that has hidden me from the world for so many years. Slipping on my mask, and grabbing my staff, my sentinels and I dashed out the door to find that little traitor.

IC: Terra

10:46 a.m

I land in front of a place that looked like a good place for Slade to call his base. I go up to the door and see if there is anyway to open it. 'I know Slade isn't going to welcome me... In fact he probably hates me,' I think as I walk around the base. Nothing. No openings... Nothing.

I punch the ground in frustration as what seems like towers come up out of the ground, smashing into the wall of the base. I step inside and look around. I notice monitors on the wall and look at each one. Each screen had a different Titan on it. Looking at them makes my blood boil. I look up and see that there are security cameras everywhere. I look at one directly and say, "Look Slade... You'll probably look at this later, but... I'm sorry. I never should ahve betrayed you and I'm an idiot for doing so. I had the most power I've ever had with you and if you're willing I'd like to help you once again.

"This time... I have no feelings for any of the Titans, and I swear that. I promise that this time I will put everything on the line and follow your every command. So please... Just think about that... Until then, I'll be waiting."

I run out of the base and fly back to the vacant street in the city. I go into a empty shop with dust and cobwebs everywhere, 'Ick...' I think as I pull the boards on the windows off. I looked out across the water to Titans tower. 'It's only a matter of time before I face them again. And when I do I'll be ready... To pound them.'

I lay down on the floor and fall asleep... Even though it's morning... I'm exausted... I don't know why. Probably the fact that my heart is beating really fast, thinking about how easily Slade could kill me if he wanted. Hopefully he'll get my message...

1:43 PM



There is no sign of Terra anywhere. I just can't seem to find her. I curse under my breath as I walk back to my base. When I arrive I see the door has been opened. Someone was here. I run as fast as I can inside to see that everything is normal. Nothing seems out of place. I press a button on my wristband and one of the scenes flickers to my security cameras. After about a minute, a blonde girl walks in. Terra. Then, she spoke





"Look Slade... You'll probably look at this later, but... I'm sorry. I never should have betrayed you and I'm an idiot for doing so. I had the most power I've ever had with you and if you're willing I'd like to help you once again.

"This time... I have no feelings for any of the Titans, and I swear that. I promise that this time I will put everything on the line and follow your every command. So please... Just think about.



At this, I smirked under my mask. I don't trust that little traitor at all, but maybe she could prove useful. I decide that it could be helpful, and I set off.



3:11 PM



I find an old abandoned shop. For some reason my instincts tell me to check. I step into the building. It is very dark; only lit by the sunlight outside. As I step forward, a spider hangs down from its web, and seems to glare at me. I ignore the pathetic distraction. I walk deeper into the building, and then I hear noises. Breathing. I look on the floor behind a desk and find none other than Terra. I smirk as I kneel before her. My hand clutches her neck.



"You're coming with me."

IC: Terra

3:11 p.m

"You're coming with me," said that deep cold voice as Slade grasps my neck.

I look straight into his eye and don't protest. All I want to do is prove that I want to be on his side. Prove to him that I'm worth his time. That I'm going to do 100x better than I did last time.

As if he could read my mind he said, "I know what you want to prove Terra. I don't trust you at all. But you could prove useful."

'Crap. I'll have to do everything in my power to prove to Slade how faithful I am,' I think as he takes me back to the base.

Once we get there, he throws me on the ground. Something I'm very used to from when I was his apprentice. The best times of my life and I betrayed him. How stupid could I get?

"So you seek once again to destroy the Titans?" Slade says as he stands in front of the monitors.

I nod and say, "I know you don't trust me, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes to prove my faithfulness to you. Just name it and I'll do it."

Slade stands there then turns to me. Not saying a word...

3:24 (Since it had to have taken a little time to get back to the base)

"So you want to join me again?" I say. "How do I know you won't run away like the filthy traitor you were before.

I slam my fist into her head, sending her on the ground. I grab her by her shirt, and hold her up in the air.

"You will bring the Tamaranian girl they call Blackfire to me." I say. "Or you will suffer dire consequences."

(OOC: Just to say, we may want to wait for a little bit just so we don't leave everyone in the dust)

5:00

Brother Blood had recently called me for a little task he needed to be completed. I was glad to do it, for I hadn't had any action in a long time. After our headquarters had been destroyed, we sort of lost touch. I hadn't seen Brother Blood in awhile and was curious of what he needed my assistance for. I guess I would find out soon enough.

I wave my hand and a bright purple portal appears in front of me. I had been practicing this for a long time now. When Mammoth, Gizmo and I had invaded Titans' Tower, I skimmed through some of Raven's old books. I knew she wouldn’t mind…well, maybe… but whose to say she’ll know? I knew reading them would benefit me someday, and today was one of those days. I didn't really feel like walking 1000 miles to the new headquarters.

I step through the portal. I come out the other side to see a man sitting on a chair in front of me. I recognize him right away.

"Hello Jinx," He spoke calmly to me.

"Hello Master." I reply back with the same serene tone. I look around the new headquarters to see no sign of Gizmo nor Mammoth.

“Is Mammoth or Gizmo coming?” I ask with a small frown.

Brother Blood motions for me to come stand in front of him. Following orders, I take my position facing him.

“I am afraid not,” He replies to me, “This task, I need only you to complete…by yourself. If I have them tag along, you may attract to much, well…attention. Plus, Gizmo had a, well… ‘accident‘ a few months ago, and we haven‘t bothered to try to locate his whereabouts.” I nod and say, “Okay, sir. What is it you need me to do?”

“There is someone I need you to find… a girl,” he says to me, “she is a Tameranian known as… Blackfire.”

I nod and ask, “Where might I look for her?”

“She is headed toward Jump City. You will find her somewhere around there.” he answers. I nod once again, “I will bring her to you. I will stop at nothing.” Brother Blood smiles sinisterly.

“Thank you, Jinx. Oh, but I must warn you. There is someone else also in search of her. Slade has an apprentice of his own who is finding her. Her name is Terra. I’m sure she will be of no threat to you, but if you come across her, defeat her. No matter what it takes,” he says with an evil grin.

“Don’t worry,” I say as my eyes glow a light shade of purple, “I will.”

5:36 p.m.


Finding this girl is harder than I thought. But I'm determined to find her. I have to prove myself to Slade.

I'm back in my old apprentice outfit. The black and orange symbol of Slade's resting on my chest. I run a hand over it and suddenly I see a purple flash to the right of me. I turn that way and head towards it.

Once I reach the spot I see the one whom Slade called Blackfire. He makes his points very forcefully. But I don't mind. He can punch me all he wants, but it wouldn't matter to me.

Blackfire turns to me and her eyes flash purple.

"I'm not an easy target," she says.

"You aren't a target," I say trying to make her listen to me, "I come not t fight, but if i have to," I hold up one of my hands, clenched in a fist, it glowing yellow and the ground shaking slightly, "I will."

Her eyes go back to normal. She looks like she could pounce at any second, and I'm ready for it.

"Remeber the deal Terra," Slade's voice says into my ear.

I look over at blackfire through my one eye, my other eye covered by my long blonde hair, "I come with a proposal."

"Proposal?" Blackfire says looking at me questioningly, but never gets out of battle stance.

"My master," I hear Slade laugh in my ear, but ignore it, "Has sent me to retrieve you."

"Oh? Why?" She asks.

I shake my head and say, "All I was told was to retrieve you. Nothing more."

She continues to stare at me. Then after a long while says, "I'll talk to him. Take me there."

I smile inwardly as I hear Slade say, "Good work. Good work."

I fly away with Blackfire at my side.

OOC: I was just aproved to post, so here goes!

IC: Starfire

We are just returning from our previous battle with Mumbo. Usualy, he is not hard for us to defeat, but today we had to chase him all over the city. After we had stopped at the place of pizza, as we had not eaten all day.

As I am sitting down to rest, Robin walks over to the computer consule on the counter. I do not understand his obsession with this device, he always stares at it as if he expects it to converse with him.

"Starfire," he says, "Take a look at this."

He presses a few buttons on the board of keys and a large picture of what he sees is projected on to the large screen in front of us.
"This is not good!" I say, "Not good at all!"

Hearing me, the other titans gather near and see what is the problem. On the screen is a large picture of what I believe is called an E-Mail. It said simply that my sister had broken out of jail earlier today and she has been seen in the city.

"This is not good!" I shout again.

Robin walks over next to me.

"We have to find Blackfire before she can do any damage!" he says to us. "Raven, you search the North East corner of the city. Cyborg, you search the South East side. Beast Boy, take the North West. Starfire, take the South West corner. I'll search the center of the city. TITANS, GO!"

[Magick]

I fly through Jump City’s sky, next to this strange girl, Terra. This day is getting weird. Okay, maybe breaking out of prison wasn’t normal, but hey, a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do. This girl says that her master sent for me. Obviously a guy. I make a mental note to get sassy when I see him. I take another look at Terra.


“So,” I say, “Your master sent for me. Who would he be?”

“His name’s Slade,” She replies, shortly. “That’s all I can tell you.”

“Anything else you can share with me? Dental records, family tree, great-aunt’s dog’s name. I’m really not picky, you know.” In my experience, it’s best to be friendly to the people who could be potential employers. She gives me a weird look, the kind you give a crazy person.

“Are you being funny?” She asks me, still looking ahead.

“Apparently not,” I reply. Boy, she’s sure hacking me off.

I’m not afraid of this Terra girl. I’m the metaphorical queen of the galaxy; she’s just some kid with a master named Slade. I bet she doesn’t know anything more than that about him. I already know that I really don’t like this girl. I consider just saying no and sauntering away, maybe telling her that I have another offer. If I did have another offer, I might actually do that, just to spite her. We land outside of an old building. It can only be the hangout of some sleazy crime lord. I’m a bit disappointed, though. With a name like Slade, I was expecting something cooler, sleeker, more like the technology in the Quardian galaxy. Nonetheless, I cock one hip and nonchalantly saunter in.

IC: Jinx

5:50

I walk through the crowded streets of Jump city in search of the girl known as Blackfire. Earlier, I had seen the titans come and fight the man known as ‘Mumbo’, as I heard them call him. I had to make sure they did not see me, so I could continue my search. If they were to spot me, they would’ve been suspicious. They maybe would’ve attacked me. I had hid in an alley, waiting for the fight to be over with. Surprisingly, it took them longer than I thought it would’ve. I had been getting impatient, so I decided to brake the magician’s wand. The titans did not see me do it, but were very confused of how the wand managed to break, but just decided not to worry about it. Once the titans were done with Mumbo and left for their tower, I continued to look for this girl.

I’m not having any luck, so I decide to look around the outskirts of the town. As I walk, I see two distant figures moving about in the forest I’m walking in. I can tell they are both girls from their long h...air. I walk closer to them to see who they are. Sure enough, I could tell one was Blackfire, and the other, unfortunately, Terra. I sigh and mumble, “Great…” Now I would have to defeat Terra to get to Blackfire.

I watch as they begin to go into what looked like an entrance. I knew I had to act fast. My eyes glowed purple as I thrust my hands towards them, unleashing waves of bad luck. The waves slice through many trees as they head for the direction of the girls. All the trees fall with a loud crash. Both Black fire and Terra stare at me awestruck. I walk up to them, neither of them moving an inch.

“Hello Blackfire,” I say to her. She stares at me with confusion and says, “Who the heck are you?”

“My name is Jinx,” I reply, “and you are to come with me. My master has a proposal.”

“Oh, really?” she asks, “what kind of proposal?”

“Hey! You’re supposed to be coming we me!” Terra yells fuming with anger.

“A proposal that Slade could never even dream to think about,” I say with a wide grin on my face.

“Hmm…” Blackfire says thinking.

“No freakin’ way,” Terra says angrily raising her arms up. She fires many rocks at me. I was ready though. I raised my hands up also, firing purple waves at the rocks. The rocks adverse their direction from me, to Terra. She quickly ducks avoiding them.

Blackfire looks from Terra, to me. She gives a small grin. “Okay, I’ll come with you,” she says following me away from the entrance to Slade’s lair. I give a smile of satisfaction, and walk away with Blackfire. Terra stands up and kicks the nearest tree in anger. My grin becomes more wide from my success.

I gaze out a window, and see Blackfire go with Jinx

If you want it done right, it must be done yourself.

I walk slowly down my stairwell, and grab my metallic staff. I open the doorwell, and all of them are revealed.

"Blackfire!" I yell.

The girl turns towards me.

"I know what you want." I say. "Yo want your sister destroyed, and I can help you with it. Join me, and everything, the city, the Earth, can all be yours. Do you accept?"

'Great... I failed... Now Slade will never trust me... ' I think as Blackfire ponders her answer.

Thanks to the nueral interface of my suit, Slade knew every little thing that crossed my mind. This suit was more advanced than the last one. I hold back the urge to fire a rock at Jinx to make her leave when I see Slade nod at me.

I smirk as i do just that, only I make it secretive. I pull it up from behind her and hit her in the back of the head. She faints and i catch her with the rock. I didn't want the idiot to ruin our plans. I put her down and the rock fuses back with the ground.

I could tell that Slade was smirking also as Blackfire opened her mouth to answer...

I walk up to Terra and place my hand on her shoulder.

"Excellent job my apprentice." I say.

I roll Jinx over with my foot, and see her unconsciouss.

"Pathetic." I say. "Obviously one of Brother Bloods."

I watch as Blackfire ponders. I know she will accept. Either that, or she dies. She'd be smart to accept my hand. I look at Terra.

"Take Jinx in, lock her up to the Nega-Chamber." I told Terra. "It will negate her powers so she cannot escape. She will be ours now."

Well, isn’t this nice. I’ve got two crime lords fighting over little old me. I consider Slade’s offer. On one hand, I can go with him, have everything I ever wanted, and maybe even prove that I’m better than Terra, the pathetic geo-girl.


On the other hand, I can end up like Jinx. I look down at her and shiver. Something tells me that I don’t want to know what’ll happen to her in the long run. I look at Terra, who is disgustingly pleased with herself about her little rock trick. I turn my gaze to Slade. Bad idea. There is no emotion in him that I can see, only a cold, calculating exterior. I gulp. Why is my throat so dry all of a sudden?


“Well, Slade,” I say, keeping my voice calm. I hold out my hand. “I believe you have yourself a girl.”


What he doesn’t know is that I’m making a mental note of where they’re taking Jinx. I still want to hear her offer.

I smirk under my mask. the Tamaranian is mine. I can see in her eyes that if Blood makes a good enough bargain, she'll betray me immediatley. I can't let that happen.

Blood will probably send reinforcements to help out this pathetic girl. I think looking at Jinx.

"What did you come here for child?" I ask Blackfire. "What is your purpose on Earth?"

Slade gets many points, I decide, as a supervillain. He’s been in this business for a long time, I can tell.


"Purpose is a bit of a strong word, don't you think?” I say, in response to his question,
“If you mean what am I here for, I’ve come to get rid of a certain roadblock named Koriand’r. You know her better as Starfire, I believe.” Slade nods, and I continue,
“Once I’m done with that, I need a job. Something worth my while. Before you ask, I’m not going to be anybody’s Barbie doll. You have her for that.” I wave my hand in Terra’s general direction. “Impose your fashion faux pas on her. You can make her do anything you want, but not me.” Terra stamps her foot.

“Hey!” She says indignantly, but I ignore her. Slade still says nothing.

“Anyway,” I say, “Why did you want me of all people, and what exactly is this offer?”

"You're power hungry." I say. "I can see it in your eyes. I know who you were. You were ruler of Tamaran until your sister and her pathetic friends ruined your plans. I can give you power."

I place my hand into my pocket, and pull it back out. A small black gem was revealed in my hand. It was cut neatly, and placed inside of a gold holder.

"This is the gem of Mekki-Marri." I say. "You once captured the jewel of Charta. It gave you powers beyond reasoning, but this can give you 10 times more than what that did. With this, you can destroy the Titan's, especially your sister. This will give you the power to rule over anything you wish to be yours."

I extend the gem towards Blackfire.

I leave Slade to negotiate with Blackfire as I take Jinx to her chamber.

I think I got off on the wrong foot with Blackfire. I mean... we may be working together, and we'll need to get along. I really don't need to add people to my enemies list.

So, I'll just wait until Slade is done, then I'll talk to her. She's definitly stronger than me, and I'm pathetic in her comparison. I'm not proud of anything I did back there... The only thing that made me happy was that Slade called me his apprentice.

I lock the chamber and turn away from her as I exit. I get back up to the control room and wait for Slade.

This guy is reading me like a book. The kind with big letters and lots of pictures. I feel my hands twitch as I examine the jewel. It’s beautiful, in a dark sort of way, and I want it. I want it so badly that my head hurts. I extend my hand toward the jewel. And then I stop.

What's the catch?" I inquire.


"Smart girl," Slade replies, talking more to himself than me. "There is one thing that you need to do for me."


I still want that jewel. “What do you want me to do?” I ask. He’s probably smirking right now. He leads me into his lair, and I know, until I’ve agreed to whatever he wants, I’m not going to leave this place.

“Balckfire!” Slade yells as he comes running out of his lair. As Gizmo would say, crud. I wasn’t sure what would happen next; whether or not Blackfire would go with me.

“I know what you want,” he says, “You want your sister destroyed, and I can help you with it. Join me, and everything, the city, the Earth, can all be yours. Do you accept?”

I quickly glance at Blackfire. She looks at him, thinking for a moment. Before she could open her mouth to answer, Terra shoots a large rock straight into my face. I was too busy paying attention to Blackfire, the boulder came unexpected. I fall down, but do not hit the ground. It feels like Terra catches me with a rock. My eyes are falling shut as I black out.

My eyes open slowly as I am thrown with great force to the ground. I stand up weakly, viewing my surroundings. I see a stone wall and hear someone laughing. I spin around to see Terra smirking smugly at me through thick bars. I realize that once I fainted, Terra must have brought me into one of the chambers in Slade’s lair.

Before I could open my mouth to say anything, Terra leaves. I decide now would be a good time to escape. I try to throw purple waves of bad luck at the metal bars, but no waves come from my hands. With a look of aggravation on my face, I thrust my hand towards the bars again. Still no waves. I give a deep sigh. Slade must have made it so I couldn’t use my powers in this cell. I lean against one of the cold, hard walls and slowly slump down until I’m sitting on the floor. I had failed. Probably because I wasn’t used to working alone. I wonder what will happen. I guess I'll just wait and see.

I lead Blackfire into my base. I lead her into a room. It's lit by only a dim orange light.

"I know you want the gem." I say. "And I will give it to you, under 2 conditions."

Blackfire listens silently.

"One, you will become my apprentice." I say. "You will serve me until your time has come, or until I say. Two, you will destroy the Teen Titans. Do these things, and the gem is yours."

I look at Slade, my anger at Starfire ebbing away, replacing itself with a new, unfamiliar emotion. I know that Slade wants me to answer soon. I try to swallow, but my throat has gone dry. I can’t lie to this man. He’d know, and then rip me to shreds.

I push these thought out of my head, and my confidence returns. I stare directly at the single eye showing. It is cold and cruel.

I put an determined expression on my face and say: “You have yourself a deal, Slade.” He nods, and I know one thing: For better or worse, my life is never going to be exactly the same.

I stand in the control room, still waiting for Slade. He enters and I can tell that he has been triumphant.

I wait for what he has to say to me.

He sits down in his chair and says nothing except, "She's with us. You're dismissed."

I didn't know if that meant to go to my quarters... or to leave permanently. So, I asked, "Does that mean you won't need me anymore?"

He turned to me and a lump grew in my throat awaiting his answer. I knew that Blackfire was now his anpprentice and that might mean that he doesn't need me anymore. I sure hope it doesn't...

I run but I cannot hide. They all start destroying me slowly. Dying…dying… And Slade looks down on me.

“Pathetic.”

He breaks my neck.”

That’s the dream I’ve been having. Over and over. Nightmare, more like it.

I’ve been having nightmares, as I’ve said. My instructor, Green Arrow says that they’re nothing more than that. Nightmares. But I don’t believe him, which is exactly why I’m headed to Jump City. Raven might be able to decipher the nightmare. If it isn’t a vision.

I haven’t been sleeping well, that could be a factor. And something’s been happening. I keep feeling like I’m being watched. I know that either something’s wrong, or I’m crazy. Either way, lame to be me.

I walk into the taxi, and it begins on the long road to Jump City…

As she turns, I kick her as hard as I can in the side of the head. I roll her over onto her back and stomp my boot into her stomach. Then, I lift her up by her neck.

"You dare question me?" I yell at her.

I kick her again in the side.

So, I head off to titans tower.

I can feel it. Slade is back and this time he has a new surprise for us. More likely than not, he has a new apprentice. And I’d bet a lot of money that it’s Blackfire. She had been seen heading toward JumpCity after she broke out of jail. I know she wants revenge on Star and Slade probably knows too. He would use it to his advantage. Tonight is going to be a restless night I can tell. I will be up all night watching the computer monitors.

Star walks over to me looking fretful. She know that if Blackfire tried to hurt her that we’d be able to bring her down. But joined with Slade, who knows how much stronger she would be.

“Star everything will be fine; no matter what happens we’ll be able to handle it.”

“Yes but…” Star looks at the ground. I put a comforting hand on her shoulder.

She smiles but still looks uneasy, I understand. Not about the sibling stuff being an only, but I know how she feels. Cyborg comes over and looks at the computer.

“Blackfire? Not again.”

“Yep, and I’m pretty sure Slade’s already contacted her.”

“Why?” Cyborg questions.

“Because he knows what happened with Star and her and knows that Blackfire will want revenge.” Cyborg glances at the computer again and goes back to the couch.

“You’re not gonna be up all night at the monitors, I’ll make sure.” He says in my direction.

“We need to know what’s going on.” I protest.

“We’ll find out soon enough. Who knows? Maybe the answer is right in front of our faces.

Time change: 7:37



The alarm blares and I run to the super computer/TV. Blackfire, already fitted in Slade’s trademark suite, grins at us.

“Hello Titans and my sister.” Blackfire says ‘my sister’ with pure hate in her voice. Then a noise at the door distracts us from Blackfire. “Excuse me, I don’t like being ignored!” Blackfire calls. But we aren’t listening. We are much more threatened by the noise.

“Um can someone open the door?” a familiar voice says through the door. We all glance at each other not wanting to be the one to open it. As the leader I walk forward and answer the call by opening the door. Sure enough a familiar face with that familiar voice appears. Terra. I’m not sure if I should glare at her or welcome her.

Raven, Cyborg and even Blackfire glare, but Beast Boy and Starfire welcome her with open arms.

“Friend welcome once again we have missed you much!” Starfire says and embraces Terra with a back breaking hug. Beast Boy also gives her a hug, but of course this is not a hug of friendship more like a hug of admiration.

As the greetings for Terra go on Raven stands in the background. I turn and stand next to her.

“Odd isn’t it? Blackfire just happens to become Slade’s new appetence and Terra just happens in show up on our doorstep.”

“You read my thoughts exactly.” Raven replies.

I look up at the monitor and see Blackfire glaring down at me.

"You better keep your nose out of my business! I'm here to protect the Titans from you and your snot nosed Master!"

"Oh really? You tried to join him recently I believe..."

"And he denied me did he not? So, I'm here with my REAL friends. Even though some of them may not trust me!" I'm lying through my teeth... but... something weird happens as I look around the room. My heart fills with warmth. I shake this thought out of me. I can't join them... I can't...

Or... can I? I mean... I have a feeling Slades never gunna except me again... but I have a feeling these guys won't either... I'd be amazed if they did.

I look at Beast Boy and Starfire. My two true friends. Even after all that I did... they still welcome me. I stare at Beast Boy and think about the things that he said to me, 'Its never to late to change....... You can still do the right thing' I smile at him and he just stares. I don;t blame him.

"Well, you definitly are one major road block! I was instructed to kill the Titans. And you, Terra. So enjoy your last few days of your life."

the screen flickers and then all life on the screen dies.

The room is quiet for a while then Beast Boy says, "Did you really try to join Slade? AGAIN?"

I drop my head and stare at the red carpet that I stand on, "Yes... I did. And he used me to get Blackfire," I twist my face in anger and discust(sp)"He's so BIG and BAD he can't to it himself!"

I feel Starfire's hand on my shoulder and I look up at her.

"Friend I am just glad that you are not on the side of evil once again."

I nod, almost crying I'm so touched by Starfire's kind gesture, "And thanks to you Star... I never will be again..."

I have switched sides. These people are kind and loving. Something Slade would never understand if he tried. Now... I have to do my best to prove myself... To the only people that ever truly cared for me...

"What a happy family." I say to myself.

After recent hacking I've been able to get intothe Titans computers including intercom system.

"You think this pathetic girl will make a difference?" I say, aiming my words at the Titans and talking about Terra. "You will be destroyed just as easily."

The power in the Tower (LOL) kicks off, and the Tower is pitch blac. When the power comes on, they are surrounded by my sentinels.

"ATTACK!" I yell.

I see it. Titans Tower has blacked out. And I might be the only thing there to stop whataver's happening. I shoot an arrow through the air, it flies and hits the tower, and I swing down to the island. I hear screaming. Something flies out of one of the windows. A Slade Setinel. My fears are realized. I should have known he was alive.
There's no time to waste. I burst in through the front door, and immediatly shoot 7 arrows, each landing in a setinel's head. I hear a scream and come running.
"Raven..." I whisper, and dash into the room the scream came from.
Raven is pinned to a wall by a Slade Setinel. And right next to her neck is a large, sharp, dagger...

I saw him. Speedy. I cursed under my breath. He might be able to help the Titans. My sentinels are merely give Blackfire the upper hand, not defeat the Titans. That really makes it 7 to 1. Maybe I should get in there. It's not like I can't take them. I decide to go. I slip on my mask ang grab my staff.

I arrive at the Tower, and look up. One of my sentinels flies through the window, and lands next to me. I pull out an exploding disk, and throw it at the door. The door explodes, and reveals the Titans. They all look over at me, especially Terra and Robin with looks of anger. It's about to get rough in here.

7:32 p.m.

Slade enters and Robin and I glare. I notice that a sentinel is running for Robin and I feel so helpless. There is no type of earth in the tower... I'm powerless. So I yell out, "ROBIN! LOOK OUT!" He turns, and dodges just in time.

I realize that the door was blasted and Pick up some good sized rocks and hurl them at the sentinels attacking Starfire. I hop on one and ride over to where her and Beast boy stand. She throws starbolts at the ones approaching and Beast Boy attacks the ones coming his way. I look around and notice that Raven is gone... She was the one that we heard scream earlier! I head for the stairs, but as soon as I do, a sentinel tries to attack Star and Beast Boy from the back, I throw more rocks at it and say, "No one messes with them!" My eyes glow yellow, matching my hands. As a huge wave of earth comes in and takes down a number of the sentinels I realize that Robin is taking Slade. He seems okay, but I just stare.

My attention is diverted from them as i feel Beast Boy tugging on my arm, "He'll be okay. Lets find Raven."

I nod and float towards the stairs, Starfire waiting for us there. Beast Boy morphs to a raven and flies along side us while we search for Raven.

My breathing becomes rash and angry as my hands ball themselves into fists. Reflexes make me reach for my staff. I whip it out and slam it into the nearest sentinel. I continue killing sentinels until I reach Speedy.

“Long time no see.” I say.

“Yeah but this isn’t the greatest time to be welcomed.” He says as he fires arrows into many approaching robots. I leave Speedy and head towards Slade.

“Robin, do you really think you can do it alone?”

“Maybe not but I have to try!” I yell.

“Dear me, don’t we have a temper to day.” My eyes narrow and I leap up as Slade tries to trip me. I extend my staff as he extends his. Slade just stands there with his staff in front of him. He doesn’t move. My eyes never leave his face.

Then Slade smiles at something behind me. The something behind me pulls a fist into my head and I almost black out. I am stunned for the moment being. Once I can see properly I notice that it was Blackfire who had tried to knock me out. She smirks and we prepare to fight. My staff, bird-meranges, exploding disks, and hard training next to the extreme power of the gem of Mekki-Marri; the odds were against me. But incredible odds or not I had to stand and fight and I did so, throwing the first punch.

As I’m fighting I notice that my team is not doing well either. Terra has teamed up with Beast Boy and Star but Raven is no where to be seen. I know that we have to cope. Blackfire hurls blackbolts at me with extreme power. I dodge, basically the only thing I can do. Slade has either gone or is just out of my sight. Most of the sentinels had been killed so I think I will soon have assistance in my battle with Blackfire. But who knows.

Robin is more than pre-occupied with Blackfire. The gem has geiven her more power than I thought. I can see Robin wants help. I need to make sure that doesn't happen. I run quickly behind Starfire and slam my steel staff into the back of her head. I then turn to Beast Boy, and sweep his legs with my staff. When he's flat on the ground, I slam my staff into his chest, knocking the air out of him. Terra turns towards me, and lunges a few rocks at me. I hit one with my staff which shatters the rock. I dodge the second, and slam my staff on the third. Terra has anger for me, no longer envy. Maybe a little surprise is in order.

Slade knocks down Beast Boy and Star and I'm fuming with anger.

"You just made a major mistake!" I say as what seems like a tornado surrounds us. Vutting Blackfire off from helping Slade, and anyone helping me. The way I wanted it to be.

I know that my powers give me an upperhand, but Slade is one tough guy. I wonder if he's figured ou that I don't want to be on his side anymore...

I cross my arms and smirk.

"It will take much more than your pathetic powers to stop me." I say. "For you see, I have a little surprise for you."

"What are you talking about?" Terra asked.

"Impatient?" I say back. "Always were one of your many many flaws. I run forward, and strike Terra on her kneecap, and then on top of her head with my staff. I stck the tip to her neck.

"Give up. You can't beat me." I say.

I hold the back of my head. I stand up and glare at Slade, suprising him, "I'm done with trying to impress you Slade! So get ready!"

My blood is boiling I have such hatred towards this man. Its kind of strange if you think about it. A few hours ago, I was begging this guy. Now... I hate him.

I try to control the tornado and sure enough, I can. I smirk and pick Slade up with the powerful winds. I blow him out of the tower and over the water. I follow the tornado and finally stop in a desert. Where no one will be hurt other than Slade. I slam him down and he stands up quickly, hardly hurt at all.

I slam my fists into the ground and the tall collumns of rock come up but Slade knew what I was going to do.

"Don't forget that I taught you everything you know. I know your every power. You're doomed," Slade says.

I'm gunna need help. But while I hope that someones gunna come help me, I will fight with everything I have.....

Pathetic. She actually thinks she can beat me? I swing my staff for her head, but she makes a wall of stone block off of blow. I throw an exploding disk at the rock, and it explodes revealing Terra. I swing a fist into her chest and kick her to the ground. I swing my staff to her chest, but she rools out of the way and kicks me into the air. I land on the ground, and see her standing over me. I swing my staff at her, but she catches it, and throws it out of my reach. I kick her in the back, and hold her down with my hands.

"You actually think you can beat me?" I say to her.

I punch her across the face.

"WELL YOU CAN'T!" I yell. "BECAUSE YOU'RE JUST A PATHETIC LITTLE GIRL WHO NO ONE CARES ABOUT!"

Then a crushing force rams me in my back, sending me flying about 20 feet. I look over and see a green bull. It morphs into a human boy; Beast Boy.

"I care." He says.

I look up in anger to see the green changeling.

"Two against one?" I say. "My my, well that just isn't fair. How about I even up the teams."

I press a button on my wristband. In a matter of seconds, a girl in a black jumpsiut with high heels and pink hair appears next to me. Her eyes blazing a bright orange.

"Well, look who it is." I say. "Maybe she would like to help. JINX! ATTACK!"

"I care," says Beast Boy.

I look over at him and soon he begins to blur because of the tears appearing at the rims of my eyes, "Beast Boy..."

I remember all the good times that Beast Boy and I had. And love him all over again... wait... I never stopped. Beast Boy always cared for me, and I betrayed him. I have to defeat Slade. I have to. For Beast Boy.

While Slade is distracted by Beast Boy, I kick him in the stomach and he topples off of me. He recovers quickly and charges towrd me. I put up another wall, and knowing what he wil do, fuse with the ground. I feel the vibrations of him throwing a disk at the wall and come up behind him, kicking him hard in the back of the head, Beast boy becoming a tiger and striking him across the chest. Slade grunts in frustration and jumps up to kick Beast Boy.

'I'm gunna try this again...' I think as I yell, "BEAST BOY! FLY!" he turns into a humming bird and I create a huge crack in the ground for Slade to fall in. He falls in, and this time, I'm not looking over the edge. Beast Boy stands by my side and I turn away from the canyon that I had made, only to have Beast Boy push me out of the way and take the kick that Slade delivered.

"BEAST BOY!" I yelled, once again glaring angrily at Slade, "Don't know how you got out of there, but I'm sick of you always coming back!"

I make smaller cracks in the ground and illuminate them with yellow light, two monsters made out of mud and other earthy materials appearing.

"How did you do that?" Slade says, a little shock, "Only with my assistance were you ever able to do that!"

"I've always got a suprise up my sleeve," I say as I move my arms around making the monsters attack him.

I look around me Blackfire is fighting Star. I throw an exploding disk at Blackfire and while she’s engulfed in smoke I jump over her so I’m facing her backside. I look to Star and signal her to cover me and if something happens to me just get Blackfire.

Terra is taking Slade so as soon as Blackfire is out of the way we’ll be over there helping her.

“This could take awhile.” I mummer under my breath. I hit Backfire in the stomach.

I take the time that she’s recovering from the wind being knocked out of her, to hit her again; this time on the side of the head, a knock out point. But it doesn’t knock her out like it’s supposed to. I sneak behind Blackfire while she is occupied with Star who is bombarding her sister with starbolts. I’m ready to hit her in the head but she turns around to quick, and with an uppercut to my jaw. I fly through the air and land with a ‘thud’ next to the TV.

“You shall not harm my friend, sister! You may have all the power you need but my strength comes from my friends!” Starfire yells. Blackfire gives Star a catty little smile and says:

“From your friends! Don’t make me laugh!” She won’t be laughing long. I hit Blackfire in the back with my staff. She falls to her knees but Slade’s voice hisses in her ear: Get UP! And she does so.

She fires blackbolts everywhere too many to doge. Several of them collide with my torso. I hold my side in pain. Since the bolts are 100 times more powerful than they would normally be it felt like they had sliced right through me. I glance up at Blackfire and narrow my eyes at the smug look on her face. Starfire is right behind Blackfire and just as Blackfire is turning around Star shoots a starbolt from her hand.

I can’t see what happens, all I see is smoke. Did Star get her? Did Blackfire dodge the shot? I wish I could tell myself that it’s all over and that Blackfire was hit but that’s not what happened. Blackfire ducked.

6:05 (I know, I know… you’ll see why I’m doing this after you read my post.)

“GET OUT!” I hear Slade yell from his control room. I slowly stand up and walk to the bars. I turn my ear facing outwards from the cell to try to hear better.

“Fine! But if you had realized the kind of destruction me and Blackfire’s powers together could reap, you would rethink that answer!” Terra yells.

I grin. Terra is right. Slade could’ve been much stronger with her, but now, he was weaker. I liked the thought of it, considering I don’t like Slade one bit.

I step away from the bars and sit down once more, and wait once more.

I had drifted off to sleep from my boredom, but awoken by Slade about an hour later.

I hear a noise like the sound of metal clanging. I sleepily open my eyes to see Slade in my face.

“Agh!” I yell, backing away.

“Hello, Jinx,” he says with a smug look on his face.

“What do you want?” I say standing up and glaring at him.

“Oh, nothing really…” he says, “I thought about what to do with you and didn’t come up with many options.”

“And…” I say in an aggravated tone.

“I either could kill you, or I could use you for my own purposes,” he says. I wave my hand beckoning him to continue.

“I decided since Brother Blood takes so much pride in you, that I would have you work for me,” he finishes.

“I’ll never work for you. I’d think you’d already know that,” I say angrily.

“Oh, but I have many ways to change that,” he says to me. I raise my eyebrow questioning him.



“Mind control,” he simply says to me. My eyes widen.

“Yes, my dear,” he says as he raises a device towards me and fires. A yellow beam flies towards me, and that's when I lose control to Slade.

Jinx? What was she doing here? I thought she was one of Brother Bloods. Somethings wrong here. I charge at Slade in the form of a Rhinoceris (sp?) and slam him into the ground. I morph into a gorrila, pick him up and throw him away. He maintains his balance, and flips backwards, landing on his feet Man! This guy is like invincible! Terra fires a large rock at Slade, but Slade throws an exploding disk at it, and it explodes. Then Terra fires about 6 smaller rocks, some of which hit him and sent him to the ground. I change into a cheetah, and claw at him. He dodges all but one, and he falls backwards. He springs up and jabs the mettalic staff into my chest. I fall to my knees, gasping for breath. He slams it over my head. I fall over, and can't get up. My nerves just wont move me. I see a blast of pink energy strike Terra, and she falls right next to me. That's the last thing I saw.

These people are getting tougher and tougher. I slam my staff onto Terra's midsection to make sure she's out cold. I'm actually out of breath after a fight.

"Grab The girl." I say to Jinx. "We'll bring them back to base."

I grab Beast Boy, and begin walking back to the base, with Jinx and Terra close behind.

I wake up inside a nega chamber at Slade's base. I realize what happened and hold back the tears. I had failed the Titans. I'm nothing but a failure. I can't succeed at anything. Everything that I've tried to do in the past few days, I've failed at.

I hear someone coming down the stairs and I look around. Beast Boy is still unconsious.

"So, you're awake Terra," Slade says, stepping down the last stair.

"Don't you have at least one eye? Or is it getting old?" I shot back at him with my voice full of nothing but pure hatred.

Slade just stands there as if hes waiting for me to say something else.

"Before you said you had a suprise for me... Do I really wanna know? Just to let you know. I'm NOT gunna work for you. EVER. Period."

It seems like I hit the jackpot, for Slade smiles and says, "Ah yes... The suprise..."

8:00 (this is in the tower so this is before what happens to Terra)



Blackfire had ducked and the starbolt had flown across the room. Star looks at her sister with hate in her eyes. Then a quiet but nonetheless hearable, command from Slade calls to Blackfire.

“I have the girl, and changeling retreat.” Blackfire soars out of the room obeying her master. Star and I look out through the hole she makes in the tower wall. It seems there was a battle below us that we didn’t know about until now. There is no sign of Slade, Terra, Beast Boy, Jinx or Raven. Cyborg has been absent for awhile only to reappear at this moment.

“Where have you been? We were getting thrashed and you were just what taking a lunch break or something!” I yell my temper rising.

“Robin there is no need for the yelling and angry words. Tell us Cyborg what have you been doing?” Star asks as she puts a hand on my forearm.

“I was researching that gem that Slade gave Blackfire. Apparently the gem has its flaws. There are only a few but they might help.”

“Do tell us what you have discovered!” Star says in a happier tone.

“One the gem only works on non-humans, which means Slade can’t use it for himself and that’s why he needs Blackfire. Two the rock can only be used for a short time, it is so powerful that if it is used for more than twelve hours at a time, it will destroy the one using it.” At these words Starfire gasps.

“Even though my sister has been cruel, dishonest, and thoughtless I do not want her to be destroyed.”

“Don’t worry Star I think Slade’s smart enough to know this. Anyway the last thing that is wrong with the stone is that it can cause Blackfire’s powers to be useless with out it; meaning that if Blackfire doesn’t have the gem, she can’t use her powers. But this will only happen if she uses the jewel for a long time, like six months.” Star and I stare at Cyborg. Those mistakes don’t seem very obliging to us.

“Don’t seem too promising. I mean there is no way Slade will let Blackfire use the gem too long and she’s not a human and I think that Slade will make sure that Blackfire’s powers aren’t damaged by the jewel. In short, we have no angles to work with.” Cyborg and Star’s heads fall in disappointment.

“Look it’s been a rough day and I want to rest. You guys can try and find some new leads but I’m gonna try to get a nap or something.” Cyborg and Starfire give me strange looks. Now I know it’s usual for me to admit I am tired or beat or wrong or anything like that but half our team’s gone and I don’t feel much like trying to be the invincible one, the one that never quits. I head up to my room and sit on the bed.

Thoughts are racing through my mind so I try to sort them out. Blackfire wanting revenge is simple enough but why and how did Jinx get hooked into this? She’s working for Brother Blood from what I know. I lean back on the bed and close my eyes hoping this action will make it easier to think, but all it dose is make me drift off to sleep.

I’m jolted from unconsciousness so fast I wonder why it’s happen. But my question is answered by the shadow of Starfire at the end of my bed.

“I am sorry for waking you. Cyborg recommended I check on you but I did not mean for you to wake up.” Starfire says sounding a little startled.

“That’s ok Star I don’t sleep to heavily anyway. Any leads?”

“I am afraid not. Cyborg has been working on the leads ever since you left for some rest. But he has found nothing. He told me I could help him but the mechanical device that you call a computer was too confusing for me to use. So I decided to make some pudding of sadness, for we are all sad because we cannot locate our friends.”

I feel my insides wriggle at the mention of Star’s pudding. But I overlook it. She’ll probably not make Cyborg and I eat any of it, the last time Star made it BB about died when she had him eat some. I got up and go downstairs to help Cyborg with the leads and Star comes with me. It was going to be a long night, for what’s left of it.

"Ah the surprise, I think you shall wait." I say. "You will know soon enough."

I looked over at a control screen, and it read a time that was slowly counting down. It read 1:34. At that moment, Blackfire rushed in. I walked up to her slowly, and tore the gem off of her neck.

"What was that for!?" She said in anger.

I point to the timer.

"You had one minute to live." I said. "The gem's powers are temporary. If you use them for more than ten hours, it will destroy you."

I placed the gem inside of a small container, and it hummed to life.

"After an hour, it will be fully re-charged. Then you may use it." I say.

Then, I look at Beast Boy and Terra. Terra had awakened. I can tell by her whining comments. Beast Biy seems to be stirring.

"Well well well." I say. This is probably the closest you two have been since I broke you up."

Beast Boy had awakened.

"You know the horrible things she has done, do you not changeling?" I ask.

Beast Boy looks at me in confusion.

"She was begging to be my apprentice, begging for me to accept her before she went with you. But I turned her down, and she went with you. Talk about going down the drain."

I smirked.

"Pathetic."

IC: 5:04 AM, Speedy (TITANS TOWER)

I had the nightmare yet again. I saw him last night, and now I truly know that he lives. Slade lives.
I get up out of bed and yawn. It's been a long night. I'm sure that there's more to this than simple dreams...mind control? Destiny? I have to find out, so I walk to Raven's room.
I'm surprised that she's still asleep. I must admit that I've had a crush on Raven for some time now, but I won't tell anyone. I just find her beautiful, and I want to help her through...well...whatever happened to her to make her so miserable.
Raven opened her eyes.
"It's 5:04 in the morning, Speedy. And what are you doing in my room???"
"5:04?" I say, a little shocked.
"Yes, 5:04. So go away."
"Wait," I say. "Could you just analyze this one dream?"
"Dream anaylsis. Interesting...sure."
I tell her about the dream. About everyone trying to attack me. And Slade's finale.
And her eyes widen. "I'm sorry," she says. "But tommorow, at 3:33 PM, you're going to die."

There's just no way. He has to be lying. Terra would never go back to him. She tried to kill him. It can't be true. I look at Terra. She has a look of sadness on her face. Right then, I know it's true.

"You betrayed us, AGAIN!" I yelled.

"Beast Boy I-" Terra started to say.

"How could you do this?" I yelled.

"I didn't I-"

I couldn't take anymore. I clutched my head, and fell to the ground. The emotion was to much to handle. I don't know hbow, but I passed out.

Terra had dozed off after a while. She was very upset. Beast Boy had passed out due to the sleeping gas that ventilated through his tube. I found it oddly entertaining to see Terra with second thoughts. I flick on a TV monitor and saw Speedy. He walked through the Tower with a grim look on his face. I wonder what the problem was. Oh well. It shall wait. I glance over and saw Terra awaken at the corner of my eye. She looked at me with a look of pure hatred.

"Past coming back to haunt you child?" I ask.

I let out a loud laugh.

"Maybe you should pay for your deeds." I say.

I hover my finger over a button on my control panel.

"Go ahead... Do it... Kill me.... I don't have a purpose..." I stared at Beast Boy. His eyes were slightly open and it was as if he could hear me. I pretended not to see that as I kept spilling the truth right from my heart, "I can't do anything. I'm nothing. I don't have a side. No one trusts me... No matter how hard I try. Even if I mean well.... something always screws it up. I'm no longer needed Slade... No one cares about me. You were right... So please... Just do it."

Good-bye Beast Boy... I'm so sorry for everything... I close my eyes and wait for my death. The only thing that I wanted.

"Kill you?" I say. "No. That wasn't my objective. My objective is to make you suffer. Your death wouldn't make you suffer, but I know whos death will."

I glance over at Beast Boy and smile.

"I promised you will pay for your betrayal, and I intend to keep that promise." I say.

I press the button, and Beast Boy screams. Electricity can be seen circulating through his chamber. I smirk.

"6000 volts." I say. "He'll be dead in a matter of minutes."

IC: Brother Blood (new character I’ve picked up)

8:00 am



“Gizmo, Mammoth report!” I yell at two of my brightest students.

“We’ve looked everywhere and we can’t find ‘er boss.” Mammoth replies

“No stinkin’ way my censers coulda missed her.” Gizmo retorts in a smug tone. I bang my fist into the arm of my chair.

“Look harder. My I remind you of the last time you failed me?” I snap. Mammoth and Gizmo shudder, the last time they failed was the last time I saw them. Until now. Jinx wasn’t nearly as disloyal to me so she had gotten the job of trying and failing to retrieve Blackfire.

And now her best friends couldn’t find her; Slade’s doing I presume. He would use any bait he could find and now that he and I are in the same business we have to compete to see who will once and for all defeat the Teen Titans. I have mere brainwashed students while Slade has many villains just begging to be ordered around by him. Odds against me but I can cope.

“You can’t find her, well what would you say if I sent someone else to find her and they did so, easily?” I lean forward to stare the two students in the face. I grin at their anxious looks. “You don’t seem to have the confidence you once had do you?” I declare enjoying myself.

I remember the task at hand.

“Anyway…” I rack my brains for a suitable person to go find Jinx. Most of my top students have proved to be spies. And the ones that are still left are well, like Gizmo and Mammoth, not worth the work. “Aha! I know just the person. Red X! Search the city for Jinx, and when you find her return with her. Do not arrive unless you have found her or have information on her whereabouts, got it?”

“Right as rain Brother B. I’m on it.” I heave a deep sigh; although Red X is a great student he is also very childish.



IC: Robin

8:00 am



I shake myself awake. I must have fallen asleep at the computer. I look over to Cyborg whose human parts seem to be unconscious; and to Star who had dropped off to sleep on the floor next to me, her hand still resting on my lap. I gently lift her hand up and lay it on her middle. Then I got to see why kind of food we have in the tower.

Not much, looks like cereal or cook something which we have no time to do. I pour myself a bowl just as Cyborg is waking up.

“Dude was happened? I feel like I’m half asleep have awake.”

“That’s probably because only your human parts fell asleep last night.” I say.

“Good thinking.”

“Want more? I’m pretty sure my brain was thinking about this all night. The only way to get information about what’s going on is to go inside Slade’s lair and see it.”

“Dude the last time we did that we almost got ourselves killed remember?”

“Of course I do, but it’s the only way. Unless you can think of one before Star wakes up cause when she does we’re leaving.” I don’t give Cy a chance to protest. I walk to the couch and sit down to eat my pitiful breakfast. Starfire stirs and slowly her eyes open.

“Um… what has happened?”

“Well we’re going to see what Slade’s up to.” I tell her.

“Wonderful! You have discovered a plan?” Star asks.

“Yeah, we’re gonna go inside his hideout and see it for ourselves.”

Cyborg comes down from recharging his systems and nods at us. “Let’s go” I say. We all find different ways to travel without being seen and get to Slade’s hideaway.



Time change: 8:39



Star flies above all the security cameras and unplugs them. I hack into the door’s computer and open it.

Silently we creep to the control room. Thankfully Slade isn’t there. But I know where he is from the sounds in the secure unit area. Stealthily I walk to the opposite wall where I can see what is going on in the jail cell. My jaw drops as I stare at what is happening.

“No.” I murmur so inaudibly I can scarcely hear it. Beast Boy and Terra are confined in a cell. Terra is crying because Beast Boy lays motionless in the other cell.

What I see exceeding Beast Boy is a mechanism that looks like it could shock the life out of anyone who touches it. But I know BB isn’t dead even if Terra can’t see. From this distance it is hard to tell but I still notice, that Beast Boy is breathing. It is only a few shallow breaths every second but he is still alive, only just it seems.

I try hard to fight back the tears, he was my friend, one of the only people who always had a joke no matter how lame.

“Oh this is precious!” a voice says from behind me. Blackfire! Now my eyes are wide in fear, but it doesn’t last long. I observe that she isn’t wearing the gem, we can take her. And we do. I race over to her and punch her in the stomach, knocking the wind out of her. Star fires starbolts at her while she’s trying to recover.

With a sonic cannon blast we dash out the door. Slade will never know, at least not until Blackfire wakes up, she is unconscious. We are safe for the moment.

"Beast Boy!" I scream as I run over to him. I would risk my life for him, and he's dying, now life will really be pointless...

"STOP!" I scream as I turn to Slade. I'can't see him fully because of the tears that are pouring down my face.

"Why should I?" Slade asked coldly, "You never cared about him..."

"HOW WOULD YOU KNOW?!" I screamed, nothing but anger in my voice.

"Remember... I knew everything that ran through your mind..."

The electricity stopped and Beast Boy lay motionless... He was gone...

I walk out of the room with a smirk on my face. I'll let him live, for now.

I walk into my control room to find Blackfire unconsciouss. I know the Titans have been here. Blackfire slowly wakes up.

"Damn it." She mutters.

"What happened?" I asked.

"They snuck up on me." She said.

I nodded, and pulled her up.

"Maybe we should make them pay?" I said.

Blackfire smirked.

I was about to press the button that sent shocks through Beast Boys body, when I hear a scream.

"PLEASE NO!" Terra yells.

"Why shouldn't I?" I ask. "What's in this for me?"

"You know I have nothing to offer Slade! Please! Just don't hurt him... I'll do anything... Just don't hurt him! Please Slade!" I couldn't belive myself! I was begging the guy I hated again... but it was the only thing I could do.... I had nothing other than Beast Boy... who knows what happened to the other Titans...

Slade just stares at me as Blackfire laughs, "You think that Slade is going to listen to a poor pathetic little girl like you! HA!"

"Shut up!" I yell angrily at her.

"Don't make me hurt you!" Blackfire said.

"Don't make me laugh!" I screamed at her.

"Just to remind you, YOU CAN'T USE YOUR POWERS!" Blackfire's eyes flashed a dangerous purple.

She was right, I had nothing to protect myself. I couldn't help Beast Boy, "Please Slade... I'll do anything! Just don't hurt him!"

He smirked....

IC: (8:30 AM) Speedy, Jump City

I walk in silence. That is, in fact, what I told the Titans. "Going for a walk." But I'm really here to stop Slade. I need to face my destiny, save Beast Boy and Terra, and even if I die, know that I've accomplished something. I walk down the city streets. The place actually reminds me of Gotham, dark, gloomy and desolate. I've been there once or twice, with good ol' GA visiting Bats and all, but still...
Sure feels like I'm in Gotham. I hear laughter. Now I begin to get scared. If the tracer I snuck on Blackfire is correct, then I'll be the hero. I don't know why I'm trying to take out Slade alone...I guess I'm kind of delirious from the nightmares. The high-pitched laughter echoes again, and I wonder who it is.
Suddenly, bursting in front of me is a smiling monster.
"Joker?!?" I shout, preparing for combat.
"Correct, little boy!" Joker laughed. Harley Quinn was standing next to her "puddin'". "You see, we figure that if we capture one Titan, we have them all! Though between you and me, I was kind of hoping for the Boy Blunder. Oh well! Heheheheeheheheeeeeh!"
His laughter distracts me, an almost fatal mistake as he throws the deck at me. Literally. The cards miss, except for one, drawing blood on my arm. I start firing arrows non-stop, each missing in their own special way. Harley whacks me on the back with my hammer, and Joker starts kicking me repeatedly while I'm down. I could swear I hear Harley Quinn say something like this being too much, or some kind of protest. Then I hear the sounds of fighting...someone was beating someone up. Who, I have no idea. The dark voice comes as a surprise.
"Are you hurt?"
Batman. I'm safe. He must've been tracking the Joker.
I open my eyes, the pain subsiding. It's not Batman.
It's Slade.

I couldn't go to retrieve Speedy myself, so I sent a robot to do it. I need a few things done from Terra first. I lift my finger off the button so the shocks stop going through Beast Boy's body.

"Fine Terra." I say. "Beast Boy may live, but every one of the Titans must die. Beast Boy, or the others. Your choice."

I smirked. I dont think i've made anyone endure this kind of decision before. I loved it. Every moment.

I heard what was going on. Terra had to choose me or the others. I can hardly talk, but I get these words out.

"Please Terra...just take me." I muttered.

I look at Slade. He seemed to be enjoying this. How can a person do something like this.

"Come now Terra, make the choice, before I have to." Slade says.

8:33 am



“Beast Boy no!” I yell. Starfire, Cyborg, and I are back in Slade’s lair and this time it’s not just to do some snooping. Star is flying with me holding on to my arms. She lets go I hit Slade in the face with my staff before landing on the ground in battle pose.

“Ah this is a pleasant surprise. I was just making Terra chose, Beast Boy’s death or all of yours’.” Slade says with an evil grin.

My eyes go ever so slightly to the right but this is enough to signal Cyborg to try and get BB and Terra out of here.

“R-Robin, no; if it’s got to be m-me or all of you, let it be me.” Beast Boy stutters. I can see he’s fighting back tears. He might be telling me that Slade should kill him but he doesn’t really want to die; I mean who would? Well now he’s making me get a lump in my throat. But with that sadness also comes some anger, blinding anger, no not anger hate. Hate for Slade and everything he’s done to us.

I toss an exploding disk into the electrocuting machine. It becomes a smoldering pile of broken wires. Slade grins.

“Yes you may have destroyed my machine but I can find more painful ways for him to die, don’t you think Blackfire?” I whip around. Standing in the doorway of the cell room, is Blackfire and she’s ready to test Mekki-Marri’s power on us. But from all that talking Slade didn’t notice that Cyborg had gotten Beast Boy out of his cell.

Beast Boy circles the room as a hawk. He turns into an elephant in mid air, right above Blackfire. We can hear her cursing beneath BB. Furious with himself for being so unaware Slade tries to attack me. If he wants to take his anger out on me he’s gonna have to work a little harder than the last time we fought, I’ve been practicing.

8:34 AM

I watch from behind the bars of my chamber. I'm overjoyed that Beast Boy is out of this contraption that I'm stuck in. But I don't care about my fate... All I want is the Titan's safety... But I can't do anything while I'm in this box!

If Robin and the other titans hadn't come in... I don't know what I would have done... I couldn't allow Slade to harm any of them... And he gave me that choice. But Beast Boy is alright for now. I had to get out of here... I had to help!

8:34 AM

I'm finally out of that thing. My body feels like it could collapse at any moment. Then, it did, but it wasn't from pain or fatigue. Blackfire had kicked me in the back. I fall over and groan in pain. I just couldn't get myself to stand. Blackfire was just to strong with the gem. I look up to see Blackfire blast her sister with a blackbolt (Catchy, I know) and Starfire fell. Raven threw 2 boulders at Blackfire, but Blackfire moves, and kicks her to the ground. She was just unstoppable. Meanwhile, Slade and Rbin were fighting it out.

I kick Robin, but he recovers and throiws a punch towards my stomach. Moving out of the way, I try to sweep his legs. He jumps and kicks me backwards. I fell to the ground, but stayed there. Robin lunged at me, but before he could hit, Blackfire hit him with a Blackbolt and he fell over. This was getting interesting.

Those of you who have read my fic "Dwyr Budr" will find him familiar, but for the sake of preventing any "Mary Sue"'s I've removed some of his more...extreme characteristics. Oh, and this post is set about ten hours before where the RPG is currently at, for reasons that should become obvious when you read it.)

7:03AM local time (10:03PM west coast time), Day 1

I can’t quite remember what the dream is about, but it’s certainly very nice up until the point where the incessant buzzing started. As is the way of things, it slowly dawns on me that this buzzing is coming from the real world, and as a result I begin to wake up. As my hotel room comes into focus, I realise that the buzzing is coming from my phone. I move my arm over to pick it up and bring it to within seeing distance, which at this time in the morning is about ten centimetres.

The display on the phone says that the caller is George. Great. Despite my numerous major-league criminal contacts, not to mention also having a rap sheet as thick as a phone book, the US government occasionally feel like hiring my services. Now seems to be one of those occasions. I press the answer button on my phone and hold it up to my ear.

“Good morning, George. How’s life been treating you since last we met?” I don’t particularly feel like giving this moron as much as the time of day, but unless I want the entire of whatever agency he works for on my back then I’d better be civil.

“Not too badly, son.” George’s choice of words screams arrogance, but his refined voice does not. This was one of the many things about him that never failed to wind me up.

I decide to bypass the pleasantries. “Listen, George. It’s nine in the morning, and I’m on my first holiday for four years. What do you want?”

“Your services.”

Technically, I can take contracts from whoever I want, but George isn’t the kind of man that you just pass over out of hand. Or even at all. “Who, where and how much?”

“Have you ever heard of a man called Slade?”

“Briefly. He runs a crime syndicate out of Jump City, as far as I’m aware.”

George laughed. “I wouldn’t call it a syndicate. He’s a lone crook; smart and well funded, but most definitely small fry. His main gripe is with the Teen Titans, so for the most part we leave him alone.”

“But not any more?”

“Exactly. For reasons that you don’t need to be aware of, he has suddenly become a threat. A threat that we need you to remove.”

“Listen, I’m on holiday. Go ask someone else.”

“There is no one else, son. Everyone else on our payroll is already on assignment.”

I sigh dejectedly. “Alright. Like I said, where and how much?”

“Slade is currently in Jump City, but it’s up to you to figure out his exact location. Termination of him and his plans will result in a paycheque of five hundred thousand dollars. Do we have a deal?”

“Like I would refuse.” That’s true, but not in quite the same way that he takes it to mean.

“Good. I suggest that you get going.”

I hang up and get fed, showered and dressed. After about an hour I’m ready to check out of the hotel, and I walk through the streets of Séte until I reach the train station, my one route to Montpellier Airport. As the train winds through the hills and vineyards of this beautiful part of the world, I silently curse George and this mysterious Slade. I’ve always enjoyed being in the South of France, and this was my first time in a long while to savour its delights once again. Except my job has decided to get in the way, as it always does.

10:30AM local time (3:30AM west coast time), Day 2

I’ve only been on this plane for two hours, and I’m already bored. My holiday was intended to just be two weeks of relaxing, so I haven’t brought anything with me to keep myself occupied, and unless I wanted it in French then there wasn’t much point in buying a book or a CD at the airport. Don’t get me wrong, French is a fascinating language, but only in the same way that cricket is a fascinating sport: it’s always fun to watch what’s going on, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ll understand any of it. I’ve already tried to sleep every now and again, but seeing as I’m the kind of guy who isn’t all that comfortable with sleeping on my own in a room full of strangers it’s been a bit tricky. Add to all this the fact that the in-flight movie – yet another big-screen adaptation of a ‘70’s TV series – is too rubbish to even watch, let alone listen to, and it should become obvious that the remaining nine hours of my flight are going to be somewhat unbearable.

I try for the umpteenth time to stave off a bad mood by thinking about my assignment. The sum total of what I know about this Slade amounts to about one sentence, and George being the helpful man he is decided to not help me out. I don’t know where he lives, what he does or who works for him, among many other things that it would be useful to know. However, one thing I do know is who his enemies are: rather than smacking around the state and innocent civilians, Slade seems to spend most of his spare time trying to kill the Teen Titans. I don’t go to Jump City all that often, so I’ve yet to face up against this group of teenage vigilantes, but from what I’ve heard they deserve some respect. If anyone knows where Slade is and what he’s planning, it’ll be the Titans: from the looks of it, they’ll be worth getting to know...

Folks, could you please add a day to the time to make things easier to figure out? That would be great and I won't go around killing you folks when I update that summary. I believe you guys are on Day 2, whatever day you want that to be, Monday, Tuesday etc. or if you really don't care you can just call it Day 3.

This is just getting to easy. I kick Robin on the side of his head, and slam my staff into his chest.

"Give up?" I ask.

Robin kicks me, and I fall over, but I roll up immediatley and slam my fist into his chest. I then thrust my staff onto the back of his head. I stomp his chest viciously.

"I'll let you live for now." I say to Robin.

I throw a disk to the ground, and it explodes revealing a black plume of smoke. When it clears Blackfire, Terra, and I are nowhere to be found.

IC: Speedy 11:00 AM Day 2,Slade's Hideout

I honestly don't know where I am. I'm in some kind of jail cell, except with energy surrounding me instead of bars.
I curse to myself, and try shouting. No noise.
"Glad to see that you're awake," the voice says.
"Slade," I say. In fact, I'm surprised I actually say it. I thought that this place was sound-proof.
"You're pathetic." Slade says. "You have almost no uses. Except to terrify them. To shake them down into pools of blood and tears."
"You're going to kill me," I say, realizing that my fate is coming true.
"I will. At 3:33, you will die."
He walked up to a large screen, and turned it on. On the screen was suddenly an image of Titans Tower, with my friends staring at the screen. I tried to shout but once again, I had no voice.
"Greetings, Titans. I have one of your friends here. You do, recognize him, am I correct?"
"Speedy!" Robin shouted. "What do you want with him?"
"I want you to come here at 3:00 PM, alone. And if you don't...he dies. Not that you care about him. You didn't even notice that he was gone during your mission, did you?"
A silence fell over the Titans.
"I'll save you, Speedy. Trust me."
The image faded, and I wished that I could trust him. But I can't. Fate is coming for me, and there's nothing I can do about it...

IC: Slade

I never felt more confident. This plan would succeed, and I would eliminate Speedy. The shocks are programmed to send almost 100,000 volts of electricity through his body, which will kill him instantly. No one said anything about taunting right? I press a button on my wrist, and about 300 volts finds its way into Speedy's nervous system. It's just a little teaser. He gruoans, and falls tpo his knees.

"There's plenty more where that came from." I say. "I hope you are ready to die."

He doesn't answer.

"4 Hours 32 minutes and counting." I say. "Your friend better act fast."

I walk out of the room, smirking under my mask.

8:00 AM, 2nd Day (I think)
Undisclosed location.

"Red X! Search the city for Jinx, and when you find her return with her. Do not arrive unless you have found her or have information on her whereabouts, got it?”

“Right as rain Brother B. I’m on it.” I leave the room where Brother Blood and some of his HIVE cronies sat. It's getting about time to dump this joint. I am finished with training. Now it's just missions, missions, missions. I care about no missions. I care about no "Head Master." I care about Red X. Me.

Let's see. Jinx. Sent out to get...Blackfire. Orders to fight Terra. Two leads there. Find Blackfire, find Jinx. Find Slade, find Terra, find Blackfire, ditto. Now, who stands out the most? Not Slade. Never caught a glimpse of him, personally. Blackfire is alien, but a sneak one. Terra seems my best bet. Hate to start so far off the chain. Oh well. I leave the base, heading south to Jump City.

Time Change: 9:38 A.M. (Same day)
I'm walking down the streets of Jump City now. I'm not wearing the mask - need to blend in right now. Baggy black pants, a long sleeve T with some red marks on it. I blend in fine. Underneath it all lurks Red X. On my head is a pair of white, wrap-around-the-back headphones. Or that's what it looks like. If I push this button here on my ear, the headphones transform into the mask of Red X. I restrain the urge to push the button.

Walking rapidly now, I come upon a group of teens who are just loafing around. I move close, thinking maybe I can hear something. Or steal something.

That's what I am. A thief. The best thief that ever lived. I love stealing - but I'm no klepto. Kleptomaniacs steal because they can't help it. I steal only what serves my needs- for instance, that kid's MP3 player. I need some tunes.

I move close to my target, listening with the enhanced hearing of my suit. The track is almost over...now. I snatch the device away and put it into my pocket. I've got about 30 seconds before he even realizes that he hasn't moved on to the next track. That's more than enough time for me to leave. Yes, I am that good.

I plug the music player into my "headphones." Booming heavy metal comes flooding out. Much better. Course, now I can't hear what anyone may be saying about the Titans. The music rumbles...
"If there was a single day I could live... a single breath I could take...I'd trade all the others away."

Ah, this music is crap. I toss the useless player away. I don't need music anymore. Some idiot will pick it up. I don't care. Who would ever give up a life as good as mine?

Time change: 10:14 A.M.
I am the luckiest guy alive. And the best tracker in the HIVE. It has been only a little over an hour of looking, and I have located traces of Terra. Her marks are hard to miss...pieces the size of kitchen tables missing from the pavement, rock pillars stuck around for no reason. What an idiot! She knows nothing of covering her tracks. It won't be long before I find Jinx.

I search the surrounding buildings for about 15 minutes, and indeed, I come to a building with some crazy stuff in the basement. A bunch of devices that I'd never use. Hulking machinery that does devil knows what. And some containment prisons. Simple force-field devices. Most of them are empty, but in the third one I find...
Jinx.

I slap an X on the force-field. It shimmers, then melts away at my touch. Convenient. I reach in a grab Jinx by the arm. No response. I pull her out of the prison and drop her to the floor. I doubt she's hurt. Suddenly a though strikes me. I'm still in stealth mode!

I reach up a push the "X" button. With a swoosh and a click, the mask pops in place. I pull off the baggy pants and T, revealing the awesome Red X costume. I stuff the costume in a little tube that is on my belt. As I do so, I silently curse the belt for not being what I wish. Once, I had the original Red X belt. But Robin had taken it from me. This was just a replica I had made. Gadjets, yes. Super-disappearing trick? No. Robin would pay, someday. I fasten my tattered cape to my shoulders, and toe Jinx's still body. Still no response.

Now I have a choice. Do I walk away, leaving Jinx, Brother B, and the HIVE for good? Do I try to wake Jinx and then go back? Or...
Or do I wake her and then offer her a partnership? Red-X and Jin-X. Think of what we could aquire for ourselves. I lose track of time, thinking about my greatness.

Suddenly, she moves. I watch closely, my mind made up.

(OOC - This brings Jinx and Red X up to 11:00 AM, which is where Slade left off. Bonus points to anyone who knows what song it is that Red X was listening to!)

"Master!" A sentinel said walking into the control room.

"Report." I say.

"Red X has been spotted a little south of Jump City." It says. "He may be armed and dangerous."

"Of course he is armed and dangerous." I say. "What do you say about meeting him?"

"Sir?" The sentinel said.

"He's in for a little surprise." I say. "Assemble team X29."

"Yes sir." It says.

"None other than Brother Blood." I mutter. "I know it. Well we'll see how he does against us.

I press an intercom button.

"Blackfire, assemble with Team X29." I say. "Bring X down."

"Yes master." She says.

I press the intercom again, and sit down. I will have the whole battle on camera. It shall be truly interesting.

IC: Blackfire

Ack! Listen to me, taking orders like a mindless Gammorean. I can't believe these last few days, and I'm beginning to regret that I signed on with Slade. Jinx seemed nice enough, but Slade? A couple words come to mind, but none that I can say out loud. I am in way over my head here, and I don't care about that stupid jewel. An idea begins to creep across my mind. What if I just disappeared mysteriously, never to be seen again? I think of my sister, lying broken and bleeding on the ground, and rise into the sky. I came here to get rid of Kori, and I'm going to do just that before I go.

Day 2

There was something in the tone of her voice when she replied. Could she be trying to betray me like all the others. Possibly, and I won't let it go unforgiven. I press a button on my wrist and static is heard. Then a voice cracks through.

"Sir?" A sentinel says.

"If you see any signs of betrayal or wrongdoing in Blackfire, destroy her." I say.

"Yes sir." It says.

I shut off my communicator.

Of course I can't let them have all the fun. I fell that this is my battle too. I slip on my mask and grab a series of weapons. Blackfire will pay if she decdies to walk out on me. Pay with her life.

11:32 AM. (Still day two)

I though I saw a movement. But no, Jinx still sleeps away. I prop her up against a box. Maybe she will recover better when upright. Come on, Jinx - this is wrecking everything.

I have learned it is never a good idea to hang around in one place for long. And here I sit. It's been half an hour. I pace around a bit, muttering.
Maybe I should just leave - tell Brother Blood what he needs to know and scatter. I doubt he could find me if I didn't want him to. I am the best tracker he has. Heck, Gizmo and Mammoth couldn't even find Jinx. But no. I sit back down.

I want to get Jinx to team up with me. I usually work alone, but having a junior partner might be fun. I laugh at the thought. Junior partner. She'll want full equal rights. Probably even consider me to be her junior. Stuck up little witch.

I get up and pace around again. This is so boring. I start examining the boxes.
Well, well, well. What have we here? Books. Lots of books. Now what would Slade do with these? I pick some of them up. Nope, not Slades. Terra's, I would guess. They are all empty journals. I pocket a nice small one - it has an iron clasp.

I glance at the time, which displays inside my mask. 11:49. Dang, it's getting late! I walk back over to Jinx and grab her by the shoulders.

"Wake up, silly girl," I mutter, as I shake her. Suddenly, her eyes snap open.

"Good, you're awake. We need to get out of here," I start. But I notice something strange. Her eyes - they aren't purple. They're orange. In one smooth motion, Jinx jumps out of my grasp, kick me in the face, and blasts me across the room. This is going to be harder than I counted on. I drop to the floor, in flying phoenix stance. If she has to go down, so be it.

"Bring it on."

Day two 12:00 pm (noon)



I smile. Yes that’s exactly what I would have expected from a self-centered villain. I watch as Red X fights Jinx. Hacking into Slade’s security camera was surprisingly easy; I had projected more from him. I watch the scene with amusement, not caring too much that Jinx is under Slade’s control. I can tell from the way she’s fighting, much more aggressive than graceful as she normally is.

Red X is stronger but Jinx surpasses him in speed and agility, which is hard to say as X is quick and nimble himself. I turn to a yellow armored guard.

“Make sure he brings her back, I don’t want him winning over a top student.” I say to him and off he goes to tell some more sentinels. Red X won’t be having any time to say anything to Jinx; I’ll make sure of that. And then I can have some fun expelling him…



IC: Robin

12:15 PM



I slam my fist on the desk for the utmost time today. This stress is getting to me. But as Cyborg explained, I can handle a lot more tension than a normal person. I was trying to find Raven, we haven’t heard from her for about two days. Now the only Titans we’re missing are Raven and Terra. But we know where Terra is, there hasn’t been a sign of Raven anywhere.

I don’t care what the others say; I know Raven can handle herself but almost two days without any signal from her…

“This is all my fault!!!” I yell. The other Titans look at me, all wrapping sprains and cuts in bandages. I put my head down on the desk, fighting the urge to break the computer.

“Fear not Robin, we will find Raven and all will be ok.” Starfire says approaching me. I try to calm my breathing which had become rash.

“We have to find her, I should have been looking for her right from the start, and I should have tried to help.”

“Dude, all we can do is try and find her, I think you’re stressing way too much. Maybe the best thing to do right now is nothing.” Beast Boy tries reasoning.

“You don’t understand Beast Boy I’m the one who is guilty I have to find Raven or I know something bad will happen. Almost all the villains know her powers are her weakness.”

“Let us just hope for the best, I shall fetch some snacks.” Star leaves to search the kitchen.

“We keep trying to tell you Robin, Rae can handle herself.” Cyborg adds to me.

“I know that! It’s just…” I try arguing. But Cy cuts me off.

“What you need is a break. I’ll look for her, you jut try and gets some rest or something. And don’t refuse or I’ll make you have a good time.” I sigh; Cyborg and BB are right, but I don’t tell them that I just skulk off to my room.
