A Western parody, a Yu-Gi-Oh! parody, & a parody of goody two-shoe super heroes. Plus a music video all on tonight's Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi!

Thoughts:

Showdown: Okay

All In The Cards: Best Yu-Gi-Oh! parody ever!

Team Teen: Meh.

Loved It? Hate It? Missied It?

Discuss it here!

I'm still enjoying this show. The Yu-Gi-Oh parody was great. The world has yet to see too many Yu-Gi-Oh parodies. At least Ami and Yumi use their powers of rock for good and not evil.

Ami trying to speak western and turning out somewhere in between cowgirl and trucker was funny.

Part A:

1. A Japanese "Ehhhhhhhhh!" attempt.

2. Liked that old western film effect, like in PPG. :)

Part B:

1. Yu-Gi-... I mean, Stu-Pi-Doh! [/Homer] :anime:

2. Another Japanese attempt, this time "Sugoi!"

3. Erg. This is like an otaku's "Mary Sue" (or "Marty Stu") fanfic with the otaku having the 2 main girls fight over his harem. Except that even here, he still doesn't comprehend girls. :p

4. Haha! Too much talking on the card duel to make Matt Wilson proud. :D

Interstitial: moped + Japanese song = FLCL ED + Pillows ;)

Part C:

1. Yet a 3rd attempt at Japanese: "Supaa Heero!"

2. Geez, those audience copying Para-Para sure looked lame... [Moments later] Ha! Even AmiYumi said so! :ack:

"His hear belongs to Stu-pi-doh"

That was perhaps the funniest thing I heard all day. Ami's monolouge was hillariously true of anime, (this I say as I'm watching Trigun again).

I also loved the Team Teen spot. When I saw their headquarters I was half expecting them to bust out the Teen Titan's theme (I really hoped that they were that shameless.) But alas I got nothing of the sort.

Still I give it a B.

I hate westerns... that one got a 2/5 The trucker talk was funny though
The Yu-gi-oh parody rocked, specially when Ami was deciding what card to use... 5/5
Interlude: "Urei" is my fav of their songs so far so, 5/5.
I was expecting something a little bit different for the Titans parody, but that was funny enough. 5/5 Sorta mocks my fav show though...

The world has yet to see too many Yu-Gi-Oh parodies.Exactly. People spend too much time on Pokemon spoofs even after it's fad days are over. Whereas Yu-Gi-Oh's nearing the end of it's golden age yet I've only seen this and that price guide poster in the Simpsons as it's only refferences.

Anyways, moving on:

Showdown: "Why are you talking trucker? We're doing a cowboy thing here." That was the highlight of the segment.

It's in the Cards: I'll be honest. At first I thought this was some sorta Card Captor Sakura parody. Then I convention hall and was like "great either another Pokemon spoof or a Yu-Gi-Oh spoof." Glad it was the latter. Although the cards were kinda disturbing, Ami thinking out her strategy Yami Yugi style was pretty funny.

Team Teen: Okay this one was childish and goofy. And geez, Yumi's superhero hairstyle is ridiculous. (Even for a rebel.)

Ya know, many of the cards aren't too far off from the parodies. There IS an actual card in Yu-Gi-Oh! that summons a killer hamburger.

I guess the theme song reigns true. Anthing IS Possible. I don't know any real-life supergeek that could have the chance to bag a couple of hot rock star groupies. Too bad said supergeek is...well...a supergeek. Maybe if Ami & Yumi cosplayed as Dark Magician Girl or Gemini Elfs.

There was so much sexual innuendo in that episode, it was crazy.

I wish I had my "Nice" CD with me so I could remember which song that was on the music video.

I do wish the real-life Ami & Yumi were as energetic as their cartoon counterparts, though.

...

I was surprised that they went through the trouble to add some detail with those cards.

The layout of those cards are similar to Yu-gi-Oh. Although instead of Stars, there are * asterisks *. Also I got a couple of chuckles watching them "come alive" and hit the little ladies with their odd attacks.

I wish I had my "Nice" CD with me so I could remember which song that was on the music video.Urei. This is the third time they've played the song on the show.

And speaking of Innuendo, out of all of the songs they could have played during the card game, look which one made the cut :p .

And how old are Puffy supposed to be in this show? Because they're either Phedophiles, or they've recived age reduction. (They're Thirty in real life)

I'm guessing they're in their late-teens, early 20's in the show.

I must say, this show is going to inspire a LOT of lemon fanfics, for better or for worse.

LMAO i was laughing so hard at the yugioh thing cause I'm not a big fan of it(I like Duel Masters better) lol so funny.

Showdown: it was ok but drug on a little long

All In The Cards: the best! all those weird gross cards was funny and seeing even Yumi swoon over a guy was a good bonus

Bonus music video: great!

Team Teen: pretty funny with good hero costumes for Ami and Yumi and Team Teen was the geekiest heros yet :p

I'm guessing they're 10-14 in the show. But 10 year olds who have mastered the guitar is kinda a long stretch. A more reasonable age would be 16, but they don't look da old. :ack:

Ah what do I know about bands? I'm from WV..... :crying:
And speaking of Innuendo, out of all of the songs they could have played during the card game, look which one made the cut :p .
"Your Love is a Drug" Right? Right? Am I right?

You forget that there are 10-year-olds in animation who are in college.

Sense I don't much make do I?

There was so much sexual innuendo in that episode, it was crazy. There was sexual innuendo in the first episode, too, if you recall. Or do I have to remind you of the sock sniffing, face licking Harmony.

Anyway, episode review. The first and third parts were pretty average, but the second was great! Stu-Pi-Doh, that alone is deserving of an A.

IMHO, the Teen Squad episode was somehow hinting that they did the theme for Teen Titans. Somehow...
