A New Dawn. (sequal)

well hi again. this is my sequal to Raven's Old Friend this is just the prologe so not much here. but for you new people: read Raven's Old Friend first or you won't have a clue who one of the main characters are. i'll stop babbling and give you... A NEW DAWN!!! :D

PROLOGE



A girl in her late teens struggled to her feet. A demon with red eyes swam across her vision. Very unluckily it wasn’t in a dream. She had been knocked down for the hundredth time by Trigon. Her father, the one person that she had to blame for her being slightly evil. An older boy helped her to her feet. They stared at the huge red demon that they had been trying to beat for six months.

Trigon shot yellow energy at the pair and they parted; the boy running over to Trigon sword at the ready. The girl, who stood right in front of her father, yelled the words that controlled her powers,

“Azarath… Metrion… ZINTHOS!!!” She cried as the demon stumbled forward. He steadied himself and shot more yellow energy out of his eyes. The boy flew up on to Trigon’s back and Trigon threw him off. The boy lay unconscious and the girl ran over to him. She lifted him up and they flew away from the demon, letting the other Azaratheans fight so they could get some rest. The girl was Raven and the boy was Sparrow the heroes of our tale.



“Come in come in!” a pretty woman said ushering Raven into a small house.

“Mrs. Mankris we can’t keep this up much longer. He will destroy Azarath and there is nothing I can do!” Raven shouted desperately. This had gone on long enough. There was no way Raven could defeat him this time.

“Raven you are an amazing girl with amazing powers. You will go out there and you will defeat your father for good. Do you understand?” Mrs. Mankris asked. “Maybe not today or tomorrow or anytime soon but Trigon will one day fall thanks to you.” Raven didn’t answer. All the pain and suffering Azarath had been undergoing was her fault.

Trigon was her father and her responsibility. Raven’s head shot up and her eyes looked determined. She walked out of the house and faced Trigon once again. She used a curse that she had only used once and had hoped never to use it again. She chanted the words and held up a book. Raven imprisoned Trigon in the book that held Malchior. The sky turned from red to black and everyone stared Raven.

She had done it. And it had seemed so simple. Why hadn’t she thought of that earlier? Now Azarath was free from a menace that was always in the back of her people’s minds. Raven sank to the ground and breathed deeply. A silence had come over the crowd of warriors. Then an uproar of cheering and screaming at Raven’s achievement. She smiled and then another hush came over the crowd.

“I wish I could stay and celebrate with you guys but Sparrow and I have been missing from our home for too long.” Sparrow’s mother, Mrs. Mankris, ran out of the small dwelling and ran over to Raven.

“Dear you can’t leave now, not after all that’s happened.” She said

“Mom we have to get back to the Titans.” Sparrow’s voice said from the door way of the hut. Mrs. Mankris nodded but Raven and Sparrow could tell that she didn’t want her son to leave her again. “We need to get back to the place were missed.” Mrs. Mankris had tears in her eyes and Sparrow walked over to his mother. He gave her a hug and then looked at Raven. She nodded and the couple joined hands and flew up into the sky. Mrs. Mankris was the one they were going to miss the most but JumpCity was their home. They needed to go home.



Meanwhile at Titan’s Tower…



As told by Robin…



Things hadn’t been the same since Raven and Sparrow had left. It has been four months since the last time we had heard from them. I sensed things were getting worse and that was why they hadn’t been sending letters. I wanted them to come back. Now that the Teen Titans were temporarily a team of four things were getting difficult.

Beast Boy sidled into the living room where the rest of the team was. We were all eating breakfast and trying ignore the feeling of emptiness in all of our stomachs. Today was the day that Sparrow had become a Teen Titan six months ago. Half a year… Had it really been that long?

The team gave a sigh in unison. We missed Raven and Sparrow so much it was like having a constant stomach ache. Just then my communicator went off. My face grew much happier when I saw who was calling me.

“Raven!” I yelled to the team. They looked at me in disbelief and crowed around to hear her news

First Post? FIRST POST!!! YAY!!!:D I've posted first in both of Aquagirls fanfics!!! Sorry. It was good. You could have had the battle with Trigon go longer, but oh well. That's life.

Okay, feedback time:


Complaints: (don't take this personally. I'm just trying to help.) I also agree that the fight scene was, like, 2 seconds long. Your an excellent writer and I truly enjoyed your other story, but I think you could've done a better prologue. The beginning for this sequel, unfortunately, wasn't as good as I expected it to be.:shrug: You didn't really explain what had happened in the six months that they were supposedly fighting Trigon in Azarath. Also, like I said earlier, you didn't really describe the fight scene when she trapped Trigon in a book. There are questions that were not answered like 'Which words did she use to trap Trigon?' and 'Where did she get the book? Did it just poof out of thin air? What kind of book was it?' If you be more descriptive, your story will be much better.;) Two other complaints: 'sidled 'I've never heard that verb... was that a typo? And, 'She had been knocked down for the hundredth time by Trigon.' Hundreth? That's a big number. Were they fighting that long?:sweat: Okay, that's all my complaints, now for the positive feedback:

Positive: It has a very good plot! You've truly got me hooked! Your writing style is getting way better than when you just started.:anime: It also makes me happy that you post very often.(Way more than me, but you know the technical deificulties I go through...) Chapter One: Home Again


“Hey guys. It doesn’t look like you missed us too much.” She said sarcastically. I guess she realized that we looked a lot happier than we did before she called. “I have good news and bad news.” Now we looked worried, “Nothing to worry about. Sparrow and I are leaving Azarath. We’ll be there at Titan’s Tower probably early tomorrow morning. The bad news is that the battle with Trigon is far from over. I managed to trap him in Malchior’s enchanted book but who knows when he’ll escape.” Raven sighed.

“But don’t you need some funky incantation to get him out of the book?” Beast Boy asked.

“Yeah that’s for Machoior but Trigon isn’t bound to the book so he might be able to get out by himself. But never mind that, Sparrow wants to talk to you.” Raven’s face disappeared and Sparrow’s came over the communicator.

“Hey! How are you guys doing?”

“Not bad!” everyone said.

“You guys look in pretty bad shape.” I said.

“Nah, we’ve seen worse. Remember we been fighting for six months. So we’ve been knocked around quite a bit.” Knocked around didn’t really sum it up in my opinion but I remembered how Sparrow had made it seem like a small deal when he got hit by Barelei, so I knew there was more to it.

“If you can get here tonight try, I don’t care how late it is.” I told them.

“Fine, fine we’ll be there probably at 2:00 in the morning at the rate we’re flying right now.” Sparrow said. “We’ll call when we get closer.”

“BYE!!!” we all yelled. Then Sparrow was gone. I sighed. I knew that Sparrow and Raven could take care of themselves but I had a feeling something was wrong.



As told by the author…



In a dark alleyway two figures stood. One bent his head low as the other figure spoke to him.

“I am very disappointed in you. All that time I spent training you wasted. You failed your own mission. You didn’t kill Sparrow as you planned and now we have lost track of him and Raven. If you disappoint me this time I will make sure you are worked to the bone and until I am sure you will not fail.”

“Yes master.” The first figure muttered. This figure is Barelei and the other is Slade the villains of this story.

Barelei’s eyes glowed suddenly red after his father’s back had turned. Yes master indeed! You can’t expect me to be able to beat the Titans alone! You can’t even do it with the help from all the villains and criminals you can order around. Master, Ha! No one can command me!!! I just need a little help getting away from Slade without killing myself. He thought. Then Barelei had a wonderful idea. And he knew exactly who was going to help him to escape Slade.

This was great! Raven and Sparrow would be home tonight. I don’t think any of us will sleep until they get here. But we went to the video store and got some movies to watch until they get home so we won’t be sitting around twiddling our thumbs. We popped in the first movie at probably 10:00. It lasted until 11:30 so we watched another one.

It went on like that until Beast Boy conked out and was drooling all over Star. Then it was 1:00 so we didn’t have to wait long for Sparrow and Raven. I was hungry so I made sandwiches. They were gone pretty quick so I guessed everyone was hungry. Then we waited. I periodically checked my watch attached to my arm but most of the time only 10 minutes had gone by.

A noise outside jerked me from staring off into space. We all looked up at the ceiling. Well not BB cause he was still asleep. Then Barelei entered the tower. We all automatically went into battle pose.

“Relax what I’m looking for isn’t here so I’m going.” Barelei said and he did leave. We all sat back down. But I could tell everyone was wondering what Barelei was looking for. But luckily we didn’t have much time to muse over it. Sparrow and Raven appeared out of the wall.

“Raven, Sparrow it is good to see you!” Starfire yelled pulling both of them into spine breaking hugs. They yelled; Star blushed and apologized. Robin walked up to Raven and he smiled at her. She smiled back. They weren’t the type for hugging. Robin and Sparrow shook hands and patted each other’s backs. Then I walked over to them.

“Holy cow it’s good it see you guys again!” I yelled. I hugged Raven and Sparrow but I didn’t crush them like Star had. Their eyes were shinning with happiness at finally being home again.

“We left your rooms the way you had them.” Robin said. Well we didn’t have anything else to say to cover the silence that. Then we all formed a group hug. We stood there holding each other and then BB woke up.

“Dudes why didn’t you tell me they were here?” he asked groggily. We all shrugged. BB walked up to Raven and Sparrow. He hugged Raven and slapped a high five with Sparrow. Then we all headed to bed.

Okay, those are my only complaints. Overall, this was an excellent chapter and didn't, as you say, 'disappoint' me. It was very well written and interesting. You used perfect adjectives and made the story flow very well. WRITE MORE OR I WILL SEND THE SANDWICH SQUAD!!! Or, if that doesn't work, I WILL SEND THE EMPLOYEES FROM THE PINK STORE!!!!!!! Muahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:evil:

As for the Author point of view thing, you could have had it done from Barelei's point of view. An yes, the Barelei entering Titans Tower thing was weird, and could have been better.

I agree with everyone's criticisms. In the "from the author" bit you had some stuff with Barelei thinking, so you could have used his PoV there - but maybe it would have let you know who he was too early on, I don't know. The bit with im in the tower was also definitely too short - you should have either made a much bigger deal of it or saved it for another chapter.

Anyway, apart from that, this story is excellent.

And tha's why you have no brain cells left. You see, cells use DNA and RNA to go through mitosis. Cells go through mitosis for 1. growth and 2. replacement/repair. It was good to be back home and I could tell that no one had gone into my room. I had thought that Beast Boy would do something like that and get himself trapped in my mirror again. That wouldn’t be pleasant because I don’t need him in my mind.

I pulled out a book from my shelf and saw that there was dust on the cover. Had really been that long since we had been here? I sighed as the feeling of disappointment washed over me. While in Azarath we didn’t really have time to miss the tower but now that I was back I remembered how I never thought about our friends during the day but at night I replayed some of the days we had, had so much fun together on.

So there had been time to miss them. I didn’t want to leave the tower again, I was so bound to it and my friends that when we left I felt as if a part of me had left too. I decided to get some sleep so I got into the bed and pulled up the covers…



I was surrounded by darkness and I wasn’t able to see anything. Just then I seemed to be watching myself battle Trigon. My dream self fell to the ground and was about to get crushed by Trigon’s foot. Then my dream self chanted “Azarath… Metrion… ZINTHOS!!!” and an energy field surrounded her. Trigon’s foot hit the black energy and he fell backwards. Then I saw this battle fade away and I was fixed with a new one. This one didn’t look familiar to me. I was throwing sixteen wheeled trucks at Trigon but there were no trucks on Azarath. Then I saw a dark shadow in the background and its eyes were gleaming red.



I sat up in bed sweat on my forehead. That was not a dream. I told myself. That was a vision. Or was it? I had been thinking about Trigon a lot lately, but if it was just my mind doing things to me, why was he there? I shook the dreams out of my mind and didn’t sleep for the rest of the night, I just dozed.

Stupid titans can’t trust them to do anything for me. Now I have to figure out how to get that girl to come back by myself. Well now was a good time to try and figure it out so I headed to the cave my father used to inhabit. I stared around the dark, gray cave. No matter what I looked at it was gray.

I scanned the area for anything unusual. Then I saw a figure standing in the center. I walked up to it and saw that it was the girl Slade had called Terra. I smiled. At her feet I saw I plaque that read “Terra a Teen Titan and a true friend.” How touching. I thought. I put my hand on one of her outstretched arms. She was indeed made out of stone.

I muttered a spell under my breath and the stone fell away. The girl fell to the ground in a Slade suite and shook her head. I peered at her from under my black cloak. She was an attractive blonde but not as striking as Raven.

“I learned they call you Terra.” I said. Terra jumped back, she hadn’t noticed me.

“Y, yes… who are you?” she asked me.

“That will be explained soon enough. What I need to know is: do you want revenge on Slade? If so, follow me if not, go about your business and forget this ever happened.”

“But you brought me back, not an easy thing to forget.”

“True, but I was hoping that you would want revenge. If you do my motive for bringing you back would be clear, if not I can just as easily turn you back to stone.” I handed out my hand indicating that if she wanted to follow me she should take it. To my delight she did. My eyes glowed red…

I woke up feeling so much better than I had these past few months. I went to my shower and to a long well deserved cleansing. Afterwards I was ready to eat a big breakfast provided by Cyborg. To my delight it was already being served. I looked up at the clock in the kitchen and noticed that it was 8:30. I usually got up around 6:00 so this was late for me.

But I hadn’t really gotten a good night’s sleep for a while so this was logical. I sat down and helped myself to toast, eggs, bacon, and waffles. I drowned my waffles in syrup and began to eat. Raven had actually eaten some toast this morning and she was still eating a slice. I smiled and realized that we hadn’t eaten a proper meal for a lengthy amount of time.

I didn’t need to complain, I was so happy to be back with the friends that I hadn’t had for such a long time. After I was full I looked over to the Gamestation. I got a glint in my eyes.

“Hey Beast Boy wanna race?” I asked.

“You’re on. Prepare to be defeated!”

“As if!” I yelled. We started up the machine and Starfire shouted in glee.

“Allow me to watch!” she said enthusiastically. The timer counted us down to race. Three … two…one! I pulled ahead but BB was right on my tail.

He got right up next to me but I shoved him into a wall where he lost one of his doors and had to wait two seconds before he could race again. By that time I had put a considerable amount of space between us so he had little hope of catching up. But Beast Boy had a way with taking a little and making it a lot as he banged into my bumper.

I accelerated and he had to too. We were on the final lap when the screen went black.

“Hey what gives? I was just about to past you and win!!” BB shouted.

“I beg your pardon but I need to have a little chat with an old friend.” A voice said. I knew who that voice belonged to; it could only be one person. Barelei’s face appeared on the giant TV. I felt hate rise in my body and it must have been in my eyes too because Beast Boy looked at me funny and stepped back a little.

“Friend! I hate you and you hate me; we are not friends!!!!” I spat.

“Forgive me for saying so.” Barelei said irritability. “In any case, I wanted to let you know that I am no longer being commanded by Slade. He is my father NOT my ruler. I cannot bear to a call him master anymore. And I think you might recognize my new friend…”

“Who is it? Why have you done to them to make them obey you?” Robin asked he had come over to me to speak with Barelei as well.

“She is a little confused about why she is with me but in time she will understand.”

“Robin did not ask why she is there he asked WHO she is.” Starfire had joined the conversation.

“Well if I told you it wouldn’t be a surprise when we battle you would it?” Barelei was already getting on my nerves and we had only been talking for ten minutes.

“Then what point did you have for calling us!?!?!?” I screamed banging my fist into the coffee table.

“Why so flustered dear Sparrow? Is it because you know that this time I will kill you? Or is it simply because you don’t know what I am planning?” I pushed the power button on the TV and the screen went black again. The TV came back on after a minute and Barelei said to my retreating back:

“What’d ya turn me off for; scared are you?”

“AGHHHHHH!” kicked the door on my way out; achieving nothing but pain in my toe.

We watched our angry friend leave in silence. I was wondering what this was all about and I could tell my friends were anxious too. The only person I could think that would help Barelei was a bad person. The only female villains we ever faced were Blackfire and Jinx. And Terra but she was stone and we still haven’t found a way to bring her back.

But Terra is not a villain she was just being controlled, she is our friend. I think. I am still unsure whether or not Raven trusts her. I will try to be joyful through our friend Sparrow’s difficult times with Barelei. I don’t like it when one of our friends is angry. I believe I will go and try to comfort Sparrow.

I walked up to his room and knocked on the door.

“Come in.” Sparrow’s dull voice said. I stepped into his room and saw Sparrow laying on his bed with his hands over his eyes.

“Star, am I crazy?” Sparrow asked me.

“I do not know what you mean. You are just concerned for our safety so you want to catch Barelei as soon as you can.” I sat on the bed next to him. Sparrow sat up and looked at me.

“My so called friends on Azarath teased me when I came back to help. They said it was then end of Azarath if I had been called up to help save them.”

“They are not worthy of your thoughts.” I said touching Sparrow’s hand kindly. He smiled at me. “You are much like Robin with Slade. Not crazy just concerned.” I smiled at Sparrow again. He sighed.

“I don’t know what’s gotten in to me. Any mention of Barelei and I go totally ballistic!” Sparrow punched the bed in frustration. I’ve learned how to deal with this feeling as it troubles Robin very much too.

I put my arm on Sparrow’s shoulder and he loosened up. I felt him go very limp and he closed his eyes.

“Do you know where Raven is? It’s not that I don’t appreciate you talking to me, you’ve made me feel a lot better, but I need to talk to Raven.”

“I understand. I believe she is in her room.” Sparrow stood up and I did too. He gave me a hug.

“Thanks Star.” He said. I blushed.

i hope that wasn't as confusing as the other ones. :D

He's more of a gun freak than a sword or kung-fu freak, which basically makes him very, VERY difficult to beat. He also likes killing people, but he's (somehow) working with the Titans. Just Lose It is one of Eminem's best, in my opinion. His serious stuff is purest East Coast hip hop, and so is right up there at the top, but his new one is funny enough to compete. That's mainly because of the line about paedophillia: it's about time that a major artist had the guts to riff on a subject like that.

Okay, if you guys sharpen up your swords, then I'll go polish my gun collection...just to help out, mind.

I was really happy that Star talked to me. She can always brighten up a dark room. And don’t get the wrong idea, I know Starfire belongs to Robin and I would never try to take her away from him. Plus as know from me previously saying, the only girl I could ever love is Raven. (If you paid any attention to my 1st fic.)

So I was walking down the hall and I noticed a door. It looked like a bed room door but it had no name on it. I heard movement inside it. I stopped to listen. Then I heard a voice.

“Ok it’s not here. That means either she destroyed it or she has it with her.” it was Beast Boy’s voice. The door slid open as I got into front of it. Bear Boy looked up at me.

“Sparrow what’s up?” BB asked hurriedly.

“What are you doing?” I asked looking at the dresser and the bed. The dresser drawers were all pulled out and what little contents they had were strewn through out the room. And the bed covers were pulled off the bed and on to the floor.

“Whose room is this?”

“Not is, was.” Beast Boy said sadly. “Terra’s.” he said in barely more than a whisper.

“Terra?” I asked confused.

“Raven didn’t tell you then. Terra was a girl who was my best friend. She had the power to move earth and rock. But she couldn’t control her powers and fled to Slade, afraid we would reject her. Then she came back to us after he helped her gain control. And, and Slade took her back to be his appetence.

She tried to annihilate us but then she saved the city from a massive volcano that her powers triggered while she was fighting Slade. Slade was supposed to be killed but no, one of his Slade robots fell into the lava not him.” Beast Boy had gotten choked up while telling this story.

Now that he had finished he slumped to the ground. Best friend didn’t sum it up. Beast Boy loved Terra. But now he loved Raven? This was too confusing for me to comprehend so I asked BB.

“You love her don’t you?”

“Loved, now she’s stone and we can’t even get a start on how to bring her back.”

“But you seemed to really hate me because Raven likes me.”

“It wasn’t really that it was the fact that I felt really bad for calling Raven creepy one time. Then, this weird dude named Malchior tricked her and her heart was broken. I wasn’t going to let that happen again. I didn’t know if I could trust you to be that close to Raven.”

“But everyone thought...”

“Everyone thought wrong ok! I tried to make it seem like I was just caring for her like a friend, but ever since Star and Robin hooked up, everyone has been seeing relationships in all of us.” Beast Boy looked up at me. I saw that the tears he had on his face had dried and that he was tired of talking.

“I’ll just go then…” I said uncertainly.

“I’m sorry I just…”

“I understand. But I do know something, you can still love Terra even if she isn’t living… do you think the dead we love ever truly leave us?” I didn’t wait for him to answer. I wanted to think about what we had talked about and try and figure out more about Terra.

This girl is such a sap. I will be so easy to trick her into helping me.

“Uh, are you going to tell me who you are now?” Terra asked me.

“Barelei.” I said not really paying attention to her. She looked at me with a bemused look on her face. I realized to make this girl trust me; it would take a little more work than planned.

Charming people has always been one of my strong points if I choose to use it. So I had to try and work this on Terra.

“So how’d a beautiful girl like you get mixed up with a madman like Slade?”

“I made a mistake and I don’t really want to talk about it. I kina involves a friend who I really miss and well…”
“You’ll have new friends now Terra; friends that won’t ever leave you.”

“He didn’t leave me, I left him. WAIT!! We have to go back to that cave, I forgot something!” Terra made a section of ground rise up and pulled me on it. We flew back on this rock to the cave.

Once we got there Terra ran to a corner of the cave, room? whatever. The wall broke apart and she pulled out a small box.

“Ok I’m ready now.” She said and she held the box tight to her chest. I noticed something interesting about this box. It was heart shaped and it looked as if it was hand made. I didn’t care really, it was just different. Why did she even drag me back here to get the stupid box anyway?

“Well lets head over to my place.” I said. Terra nodded keen to not let me see the box she clasped.

Ok this guy is freakishly weird but so is Beast Boy. First impressions aren’t everything; especially with guys. (thehehe no offence) I looked down at the little heart box Beast Boy gave me and felt my eyes stinging. I missed him so much. I opened it up hesitantly, not wanting Barelei to see it. The note inside it said:



When ever you need me, I’ll come; because I love you.

Barelei stopped so suddenly I almost ran into him.

“Go inside.” He told me. I looked at him wondering why he didn’t just go in and let me go after him. I closed the lid to my box and thought something about this whole thing didn’t seem right. I didn’t even know this guy. What if this was a trap?

“Are you going in or what?” Barelei asked.

“Um I think I’ll hang outside for awhile, get some food or something.”

“I have food inside. NOW GO!” I jumped back. Barelei’s eyes had turned a bright shade of red when he said ‘now go’.

I dived around him and a rock came towards me. I jumped on it and directed it to Titan’s Tower, thinking that the Titans would help me. But I barely got ten feet before my rock was being pulled back to Barelei. His face was contorted in an evil looking smile as I was drug closer and closer to him. I screamed as loud as I could hoping someone nearby would come and help me.

To my fortune Beast Boy was at the pizza place getting food and heard me screaming. I saw him turn the corner and he stopped dead when he saw me.

“HELP!” I yelled at him and he ran as a cheetah towards Barelei. He leaped into the air and transformed into an eagle. Beast Boy pulled Barelei off me and flew him into the air.

Beast Boy probably flew fifty feet in the air and then dropped Barelei. Barelei hit the ground with a sickening ‘thud’ and was knocked out. BB then flew down to me, turned back to normal, and we embraced each other in a hug. Then he simply dragged me to Titan’s Tower.

i guess this is a good return for Terra after all! :D

As told by Beast Boy…


I was just too happy to think. I pulled Terra towards the Tower and then stopped dead.

“Beast Boy, WHOA!” Terra yelled slamming into me.

“Sorry I was just thinking that we might want to go in the tower through the roof. If Raven found out I’d be dead!”

“Right that’s a good idea.”

“I’ll leave you with Sparrow, he’ll understand.”

“Sparrow?” Terra asked confused.

“One of Raven’s old friends.”

“Yeah leaving me with him would be a good idea.”

“No Sparrow’s different than Raven. He can actually feel and sympathize.” Terra didn’t say anything after that. She was scared how angry Raven would be at her and what she would do to her.

I was too. Raven really hated Terra so how would she react to me bringing her to the tower? She would also wonder, like me, how she was returned to life.

“Uh Terra… how did you get back here, I mean how did you come back to life?” I asked intently.

“I don’t really know. I think Barelei did it. But I’m not sure how.” Terra looked puzzled. Terra brought a rock over to us and we flew up to the roof of the tower. I opened the door a crack and saw that no one was coming.

“Ok but let me go down first.” I said waving Terra to me.

We crept quietly down the stairs and finally reached the hallway with the bed rooms. There we heard voices that belonged to Robin and Starfire.

“Stay there.” I whispered to Terra and I strolled down the hall looking casual.

“Hey guys! What’s up?” I said really loudly. This was because of nerves and so I would disrupt them. They looked agitatedly at me. I could tell they were about to have one of their ‘moments’.

This was exactly what I was hoping for. They shook their heads and went into Robin’s room. I waved Terra towards me. She tip-toed over to me and we silently ran to Sparrow’s room. I heard Raven’s voice in the room and thought: ‘no not now Sparrow!’ I knocked. Sparrow came to the door.

“Sparrow I need your help. This is Terra and Raven really hates her and I was thinking that you could make sure Raven doesn’t find out she’s here.” I said in a hasty murmur.

“Uh I would be she’s waiting for me inside.”

“What should I do? You’re smart HELP ME!!!!!!” I whispered frantically.

“Sparrow.” Raven’s confused voice called.

“Just a sec!” he called back. “Ok here’s what you do, have Terra go to her room (I froze) and then take it from there. Tell Robin or someone.”

“Problem,” I said so quietly that only Sparrow heard me. “Terra’s room is trashed from me looking for… well I don’t think she would like to see her room a mess.”

“You have no choice.” Sparrow said and before I could argue he turned his back and closed the door.

I know that Raven’s a hard person to lie to so that’s why I understood Sparrow closing the door in my face.

“Terra you have to stay in your room, which is a little messy, until I can talk to Robin. He just went into his room with Star so no telling when they’ll be done. I’ll bring you some food and explain from there.” We walked together to her room and she went inside. I headed down to the kitchen to find Terra some food.

Most unfortunately Cyborg was down there. I couldn’t let him see me with anything but tofu or he’d get suspicious. So I whistled to the fridge and pulled out some tofu but hid a sandwich for Terra under it. Cyborg’s gaze followed me out of the room and then I ran I practically flew to Terra’s room.

Panting I handed her the sandwich and she took a grateful bite. I noticed that she had cleaned up the room a bit and changed into her black shirt with the yellow T and yellow shorts.

“Nice to see you out of that Slade suite.” I said grinning at her.

“It feels good to be out of it that thing was uncomfortable!” I laughed quietly. All that I cared about right now was staying here with Terra, catching up on old times.

“Now I want to know why you trashed my room.”

“Well I was kina looking for… that… heart box I made you.” I looked down and blushed. Terra smiled.

“You mean… this one?” Terra asked pulling out the small box. I stared at it.

“You kept it? You kept it!” I hugged Terra; she returned the hug. We embraced each other until we heard a sound at the door. I dropped my arms around Terra and stared at the door.

I took a deep breath when I saw that it was Sparrow.

“Hi, what’s going on?” he asked.

“Uh….” We said in unison. Sparrow smiled and we realized he was kidding. He sat down beside us and Terra went back to eating. I shoved the tofu behind me and said:

“So where’d Raven go?”

“She said she needed to meditate so she won’t be back out of her room for a while.”

“Good we need all the time we can get. I hope Robin and Starfire will be done soon I can’t think with all these nerves.”

“Do you ever think even without nerves?” Terra asked. I pushed her over. She righted herself then I braced myself as she pushed me. Sparrow’s eyes were following us as we pushed each other.

Then Terra and I panted and we laid on each other’s shoulders. We laughed at how childish we were being. Sparrow just stared at us. Then we heard Star giggle as she left Robin’s room so I knew that soon I could go talk to him soon. I didn’t want to be the one to go in on him right after he had been with Star. That was a good way to get yourself yelled at.

So Sparrow, Terra and I sat and talked for a half hour and then it was time. I stood up and walked out of the room. I knocked three times on Robin’s door. There was a shuffling and Robin opened it.

“Hi can I talk to you its really important.”

“Ok come in.”

“Terra is here.” I said wanting to get it over with.

“Terra is here? That’s not possible, Beast Boy you must be day dreaming again.”

“Robin I’m serious she’s in her room. Barelei brought her back of some reason and tried to trick her into working with him. Luckily I was there to save her and then I brought her back here.”

“Beast Boy… ok well if she is here I don’t know what to do. Raven might blow the whole tower up if she found out. Hum… I think we should tell Raven that it was an accident that Terra came back and that Barelei did it.”

“But that’s why did happen!”

“Let me finish. And tell her that Terra escaped Barelei and came here to hide from him. That she thought that we could help her. That seems the safest way to do it.” I nodded. That did seem like the best way to tell Raven and we’d better do it after she had meditated so she’d be in a good disposition.

“Ok you tell her that, right now she’s meditating so tell her when she’s done. Usually she’s in a good mood after meditating.”

“Who besides me and you know about Terra?”

“Sparrow and that’s it.” I said.

“Go back to Terra’s room and I’ll talk to Raven when I get the chance.”

“Right, um could you get CY out of the living room so I can get Terra some more food?”

“Sure, if he’s still in there if not I’ll let you know.” Robin headed downstairs and I in the opposite direction to Terra’s room.

“It’s me.” I called though the door before opening it. Terra and Sparrow looked at me as I walked in and sat down.

“How’d it go?” they both asked.

“Robin’s gonna talk to Raven and he’s getting CY out of the kitchen so I can get you more food.” Terra nodded and rubbed her stomach as it growled. I smiled and scooted closer to Terra. Sparrow looked at me and Terra and stood up.

“I think I’m gonna give you guys some time alone.” He said and grinned at me. I could tell what he was thinking but I had never, well almost once but not quite kissed Terra. But once he left that didn’t seem to matter. It was just like Terra had never left and that we were still at that carnival.

Terra put her head on my shoulder and closed her eyes. I stroked her back. She smiled at me as I put my arm around her waist. We sat there together for awhile. This was what I wanted all along; to be with Terra and not be interrupted. Slade couldn’t interfere and no one would walk into Terra’s room for any reason.

I pushed the strand of hair that was always falling in Terra’s face behind her ear. Terra opened her eyes and I pulled her closer to me. Now Terra’s head was resting on my chest; I took her hand in my hand that had now stopped stroking Terra’s back. Terra looked up at me and straitened her back.

Our faces were level now. We seemed to both move forward at the same time. The time it took for our faces to get right up next to each other’s seemed to take forever. Finally I felt like a momentum pushed me forward and our lips connected. Terra’s hand squeezed mine; she was just as surprised as I was.

When we pulled apart I felt like a quest that I had needed to complete was over. I had finally done what had been deprived of me for a very, very long time. Over six months. I didn’t know what to say. Words had never been so hard to find for me before. But then again I had never had to find words after kissing someone before.

“I, I…” I stuttered. Terra put her finger to my lips and that silenced me. When she drew her finger away she leaned forward and we kissed again. This time for longer but I didn’t feel quite the same as I didn’t when we first kissed. It was probably because the total shock of what was happening had worn off.

Then we sat there enjoying each other’s company and warmth. I sighed happily; this was the best time I had ever had with Terra, and probably the happiest time I had, had in a while. I pulled Terra to her feet and she leaned against me. Her fingertips grazed my back and I shuddered slightly as a tickling sensation ran throughout my body.

I ran my fingers through her hair. It was very soft and silky. It felt good to my touch. It was growing dark outside; the dim light casting a pleasant shadow over me and Terra. It made the scene so much more romantic. Terra and I were just surrounded by a pool of happiness and marvel. We were absorbed in each other.

We broke apart owing to a knock on the bed room door. I shuffled over to it and looked out to see who it was. Sparrow, as I guessed, stood before me.

“You done in there?” he asked beaming.

“Don’t joke! That’s none of your business any way.” I said testily.

“I was just wondering if I could talk to you. Not about whatever you guys took up an hour and a half doing, what Robin said about Terra staying. He did talk to Raven. I didn’t get much detail about their chat ‘cause Robin seemed a little shook up. Uh, so can we talk?”

“Ok, ok fine. But you just ruined the moment.”

“Hey there’ll be others!” I rolled my eyes at him and went back into the room.

Terra was on the bed and looking embarrassed. I sat next to her and, so Sparrow couldn’t see, held her hand. I knew if he saw he would tease us.

“So Robin said Raven agreed only if Terra stayed out of her way and that she wouldn’t have to talk to her, so that’s that.”

“So that means you’re a titan again!” I said cheerfully. Then the alarm rang and Terra and I couldn’t resume our ‘moment’ again.

well for the suite thing, i thought that when Slade wasn't controlling her anymore that she could get the suite off. and Slade didn't know she was back so yeah. :shrug: and for the box it was thinking that Terra would haev gotten it before she left to go to Slade for the second time. i should have explained that better. :sweat: oh and she hid the box in a wall and since the wall was rock she broke it apart and got it. that needed some clearing up too, i think, it was a little confusing when i wrote it.

for those who don't know our school schedule:
tomorrow is the last day of scholl for me and then i get two weeks off! i'm hoping to get a lot, and i mean a lot of writing done over the break! :D

Yay! You posted more! That was pretty good, but I do have a complaint: I agree with Katie about the whole box thing. I don't know if you noticed, but Terra left the box at Titans Tower and she didn't really care about it until 5 seconds before (as Katie would say) 'stoned'.:rolleyes: Other than that it was pretty good. I think you did a nice job on the 'steamy' scene. Oh, and you BETTER do a better job with the Terra/Raven fued this time than in your one story that only Kaylen and I read, or I will be PO-ed at you!

This is exactly why I haven't posted my story yet. I'm too afraid of what life-threatening, horrific, makes-children-cry, awful, nasty, terrible beasts would come after me if I had a simple case of writer's block. I can see why they tell you to be careful who you talk to on the internet. I'm friends with a bunch of mobsters and ex-Moffia assasins. Who knows what kind of awful, evil plots you would form against me? I could end up with a pink room, or worse..... PINK WITH BARBIES!!!!! *terrrified lady screams in background* The Horror!!! I went through the floor to get to the living room to see what the trouble was and sure enough it was who I thought it was going to be. Barelei. The rest of the titans and Terra appeared from the stair case. (I don’t and never again will, consider Terra a part of the team.)

“Barelei.” I said and then we all ran out the door Robin in the lead. Once we got to Barelei he smiled at us like he was very pleased to see us all there and well. We all got into battle pose as Robin shouted “Titans GO!” Now we knew that combined attacks would bring Barelei down but as Sparrow had suggested; Barelei had gotten a lot stronger while he was away.

“Hey kiddies did ya miss me?” he asked in a disdainful tone. Just then a sonic blast collided with Barelei’s abdomen. He shook it off easily and one of his hands glowed scarlet. Terra, Robin and Cyborg separated as a sixteen-wheeled truck was thrown in their direction.

“Azarath… Metrion…Zinthos!” I chanted sending the truck back at him. He jumped over it and came down with a foot to my face. I stopped him in mid air and dropped him. He tripped me and as I fell over I saw Sparrow take charge. He swung at Barelei with his sword. Barelei countered. Then Sparrow kicked Barelei in the head.

Starfire shot many starbolts at Barelei as another sonic cannon blast and some exploding disks flew his way. It was impossible for Barelei to block all theses attacks. So he was hit by two of Robin’s disks and five of the, oh say twelve starbolts Starfire shot.

Barelei got over to Beast Boy and lifted him off his feet.

“Payback time green boy!” he yelled as he directed Beast Boy with his powers into a very solid brick wall. Beast Boy fell unconscious. He was slumped down on the ground with his back on the wall and his eyes were half closed.

Now I leaped on to Barelei’s back and he fell to the ground with my weight. He tried to toss me off but my grip was too strong. I called to Cyborg, who was the closest to me:

“Shoot him now!”

“Rae I could hit y-“

“Just do it!” Cyborg raised his arm and fired. I encircled myself with a force field just in time. Cyborg breathed a sigh of relief but not for long. Barelei was charging at him. Cyborg shot his hand out, that was attached to a retractable cord, around Barelei’s legs. He tripped and fell face forward on the cement.

“BOO YA!” CY yelled and we rushed up to restrain Barelei more.

“Ok Terra I want you to know that I don’t give up easily so be on the look out for…me.” Barelei said. Then CY’s arm was wrapped around nothing.

We all sighed and Terra went to get Beast Boy. Something told me that he had helped Terra escape Barelei and brought her to the tower. Or maybe it was just because Robin was a really bad liar and I knew something was up. I flew up and accompanied Sparrow back to the tower. We didn’t say anything but he still took my hand in his as we left the battle field.

Now once we got back to the tower Sparrow thought that he should just let go of my hand and do whatever I wanted but I held his hand firmly as I led him to my room. When we got in there I sat down on the bed and so did Sparrow. I sighed.

“I don’t know what to do, I don’t want to get angry but I still have to know that the little betrayer is living in the tower again.”

“Just don’t worry about it. I’m sure Robin’s thinking the same way and keeping a close watch on her.” Sparrow said. That made me feel a tad better but I was still worried. Sparrow slipped his arm around my waist and smiled. I smiled back. It felt good to be with him again. We hadn’t got much time by ourselves in Azarath so this was soothing.

I pulled my hood down so I could see better. Sparrow looked at me in a pleased way; he was content to be alone with me as I was to be with him. I needed some comfort after finding Terra in my home again. I laid my head on Sparrow’s shoulder and sighed happily.

“Raven do you think that things will ever be like they were when we were kids?” Sparrow asked me.

“Probably not and why would you want it to be? The way things are now are better than when we were children. At least our connection is.”

“I don’t know… I was just wondering. I think now is better too.” Sparrow said while he stroked my hair. I settled down in his arms and closed my eyes. Sparrow pulled me towards him. I wrapped Sparrow’s cloak around us. We sat incredibly close together and fell sound asleep in each other’s arms.



Meanwhile…



As told by Beast Boy…



I woke up in the living room very delirious and stumbled up to the bed room hall. I walked into what appeared to be my room, I wasn’t seeing very clearly and my head hurt so I wasn’t confident. I flopped on the bed and instantaneously fell asleep.

The next morning I was jerked out of my slumber by a startled squeal. I realized right away that I had made a wrong turn or something last night. I wasn’t in my room… I was in Terra’s. I had fallen asleep next to her and not noticed all night.

By now the shock had worn out for Terra and she sat there laughing her head off. I wasn’t laughing, I was blushing. And to make things worse I had never seen Terra in her pajamas. Furthermore her shirt was a tank-top with the thinnest straps you could imagine. This made me burry my face in the pillow. I had never felt this humiliated.

To my surprise Terra leaned over and murmured in my ear:

“Don’t worry its ok.” I looked up at her still red in the face. She grinned and kissed my cheek before getting up. Well it was a good thing she was wearing long pants or I would have about died right on the spot. So I left the room felling like the dumbest person that ever walked the earth and went into my real room.

I changed clothes and headed downstairs. My face was obviously still red cause CY took one look at me and asked:

“What happened?” Well I wasn’t about to tell him so I lied and said:

“Nothing, it’s just hot in my room.” CY gave me a ‘yeah... right’ look but I overlooked it and went to the kitchen. Terra came down and silent mirth washed over her. This made me go red all over again.

“So Terra… what’d ya do to Beast Boy?” Robin asked snickering.
“I didn’t do anything. That hit on the head caused BB to go to my room and he fell asleep right next to me and didn’t notice until we woke up!” everyone started laughing except Raven and me. I glowed scarlet once more and Terra squeezed me tight. I felt better and even laughed myself.

well even if you guys didn't i thought it was pretty funny! :shrug:

BB does the dreaded Walk Of Shame! Class act!

The build-up to the fight scene was a bit confusing, but I'm not really in the mood to complain right now.

The Raven/Sparrow stuff was pretty cute, but the BB/Terra stuff was just...genius! I would have expected someone like BB to be pretty impressed with finally getting an eyeful of his beloved, but you managed to get the Walk Of Shame in there instead so all is still cool. I'm sensing that Raven not laughing at BB's humilliation means that a wee bit of jealousy is in the works...protracted cat-fight ahoy!

More genius required! NOW!

I was just finishing up some individual training as the alarm rung throughout the tower. I was the first to arrive at the computer. I clicked over to see what he trouble was and the others arrived.

“Cinderblock at the bank, Overload at the power station, and Plasmus at the toxic waste dump. Slade… we have to split up. Let’s see three bad guys… seven of us… ok Raven, Sparrow go get Plasmus, Cyborg, BB and Terra: Cinderblock, Star and I will take Overload. Let’s move!” we charged out the door and separated. Star picked me up by my arms and we flew to the power station.

Once we got there, sure enough Overload was enjoying a lot of electricity. Star dropped me about 200 feet from Overload and went to get some water. Meanwhile I tried fighting him. I was getting shocked pretty badly, nothing life threatening but still, it hurt. Star flew over us with a long hose. It was connected to a fire hydrant near the station. She turned the hose on and water flew everywhere.

“Star don’t hit the power station!” I yelled seeing her loose control of the hose. I jumped up and grabbed the hose and helped Star direct it. Overload turned into a small chip and Star struggled to turn off the hose.

I walked over to Overload and said:

“I think you’re done tampering with the towns’ power.” Overload groaned.



Meanwhile…



As told by Cyborg…



Terra lifted Cinderblock up in the air and brought him down with an all mighty crash. Now I could see why Robin had placed her to fight Cinderblock, he was stone and she could use her powers to move him. But the problem I saw was that Cinderblock didn’t seem to be fighting back. He had also looked down at the ‘S’ control button on his chest and grunted, which had puzzled me even more.

Even though Terra was doing a good job, I still helped her out and so did BB. I aimed a few strong punches at Cinderblock’s middle and shot a sonic cannon blast at his head. Beast Boy let Terra drop Cinderblock and then he kicked Cinderblock as a kangaroo. Cinderblock went flying into an alley way where we cornered him.

“End of the line Cinderblock. And this time you’re going to stay in jail!”

“I beg to differ.” A silky voice said through the shadows. Two red eyes glowed at Terra, BB and I from the dark.

I shot in the direction of the eyes and missed as I expected. When we heard Barelei speak again it was from a roof top. Barelei looked as if he didn’t really want to fight. I saw him grimace and rub his arm as Beast Boy flew up as a hawk to meet him on the roof. BB kicked his talons at Barelei and Barelei dodged. He then sent Beast Boy flying through the air to land on the ground twenty feet below him.

BB skidded on the ground but got back up so he was probably ok. But by the time I had stopped watching BB slide across the cement, Barelei was already on Terra. He had gotten behind her and covered her mouth so she couldn’t scream. Still, Terra had bit Barelei and yelled. I ran over to her and started punching. Not really aiming at anything but only making sure I didn’t hit Terra.

“Follow and die!” Barelei shouted at me right before he vanished. A blast of red smoke met my eyes before Barelei and Terra were gone. Just then Raven and Sparrow showed up with Plasmus in his container as a harmless human.

“What happened?” Raven asked in her monotone voice.

“Barelei took Terra away. He told CY that if we followed we would die.” BB said in a stifled tone.

“Well I’m sure we will be able to find her. And Barelei gives hollow threats if you ask me.” Sparrow said.

A subdued group made our way to the jail. Cinderblock, Overload, and Plasmus were placed in captivity. And then we went back home to try and find Terra. Well all of us but Raven, she said she needed some time alone and no one wanted to make her stay. I check my scanner both on my arm and on the Titans mainframe. Terra’s signal was in Slade’s lair. But it was funny… it was as if it was there but not there. As if Terra wasn’t really thinking for herself.



As told by Raven…



I was the only one who could save Terra before she got controlled by Barelei. While the others were messing around with the scanners I was heading over to Slade’s lair. I entered in raven form and watched what was happening. Barelei was trying to get something on Terra. Once he did she just took it off again.

“God dang it put the fricken thing on!!” Barelei yelled in frustration.

“No I won’t help you I won’t be controlled again. Hyaaaa!” Terra cried kicking Barelei in the ribs.

Well I was getting tired of watching so I entered Terra’s body and spoke to her mind.

“Terra this is Raven, run over to the crates in the corner and…” Barelei kicked Terra and I was thrown out of her body.

“Do you ever quit? I asked rhetorically. Barelei once again succeed in putting the thing on Terra and once more she pulled it off. Terra managed to run to the crates long enough for me to take us back home.

Something felt wrong when we got back to the tower. It was probably that fact that after we got into the tower I saw a third shadow behind us. But before we could catch Barelei he was gone. Now all sorts of questions were being asked in my mind. Was he still in the tower? If not where is he? If so what should we do? I decided that the first thing we should do was tell Robin.

I pulled Terra into one of my portals and we ended up downstairs.

“Raven? Terra? What’s going on?” Robin asked bewildered.

“Barelei might be in the tower. When I saved Terra Barelei got caught in my portal and when we saw him, he ran off. He could be anywhere.” Robin, Sparrow, Starfire, and Beast Boy just stared at me. Cyborg was doing something peculiar. He was pressing buttons on his arm.

“He’s in the basement.” Cyborg said abruptly.

“Let’s go.” Robin said shakily.

well not the most exciting part ever but still. :sweat:

Yeah, my avatar's Marth. Beastgirl17 owns Super Smash Bros. Melee and we played it at her party. I decided Marth looked like a cool character so I played as him. My other friend, Marisa, who is very skilled in that game, always plays as Roy and Roy and Marth are very similar so she taught me some tricks. I became really good and gave myself a name in Japanese. I translated it into tKada (even though that's not what it really meant.) My friends would always get mad at me(except for Marisa, my mentor) because I would always pause in the middle of the game and zoom in on myself for no reason. So that's the basic story.:anime:

By the way, Aquagirl, you're doin' a great job. Keep up the good work!:D And I'm heartily sorry for your loss...:crying: Feel better soon, kay?:sad:

(MO) :)

well this is kinda long but that's good cause i've been gone so the wait is over. i present to you... uh what happens next. :sweat:

As told by Starfire…


My friends and I were all frightened by the evil person’s presence in our home. Robin and the others tried to act brave but I did not care if my friends saw how fearful I was. We all walked slowly to the underground floor’s door which I am told is called a basement. Robin and Cyborg went down the long dark staircase first followed by Terra, Beast Boy, Sparrow, and I went last.

“Don’t worry Star, he can’t hurt you.” Sparrow consoled to me.

“I am still worried. What if he…”

“Star I know all Barelei’s tricks. And I know how to block them. We’ll be fine.” Sparrow laid a comforting hand on my shoulder. Then an odd sound made him spin around.

Raven, Robin, Cyborg and Beast boy were already fighting Barelei and the sound we heard was Beast Boy. He had taken the form of a furry animal with long floppy ears and a long tail. This is called a dog if I remember correctly. With this dog form Beast Boy’s shouts of pain are yelps. Sparrow swung himself over the rail and landed next to Robin.

Sparrow’s face looked very angry as he unsheathed his weapon. He charged at our opponent but then a loud ringing rang out. Not the musical ring of our communicators but a harsh beeping that was rather irritating. Barelei stared down at the communicator he was being called from. We all gazed at him as he slowly answered the call.

We didn’t need to ask who it was on the other line. The appearance on Barelei’s face told us right away that Slade was paging him.

“F, f, father wh, what a nice surprise. I was just on my way to steal some, some milk when the ever-so bothersome Teen Titans showed up.” Our lying foe told his dastardly father. But before Barelei could continue his lies, Robin threw an exploding disk at the device and it, naturally, exploded.

“Daddy’s not going to save you now. In fact I think Daddy will be most displeased when he finds out you hacked his computer, brought Terra back to life, and are now cornered by the Teen Titans with no where to go.” Robin said in a satisfied tone. Barelei wore the same look Robin did, a smug one. He smirked very wide at us and said:

“No where to go but… up.” And right before our eyes Barelei transformed into a red wolf, much like the raven, Raven, can turn into, and disappeared through the ceiling of our basement. Sparrow dropped his weapon on the floor and sank to his knees.

“Do not despair friend no matter where our enemy is hiding Cyborg’s mechanical devices will be able to locate him.” I comforted without success. Sparrow breathed deeply.

“This has gone on long enough.” Sparrow spoke every statement with much sentiment and very slowly so we wouldn’t miss a word. Now I was determined to help Sparrow. If we didn’t get rid of Barelei soon Sparrow would be like Robin with Slade. But this was more personal.



As told by Barelei…



I found myself in a strange room. It was dark so it took me a minute to see properly. This must be Raven’s bed room. It was certainly creepy enough with the eerie masks that’s eyes seemed to follow you and the walls of books. Good time to do some poking and prying to get information on the Titan’s most secretive member.

There was a piece of furniture that had drawers and looked like a place to put make-up. But it couldn’t be as Raven was to pretty to need make-up. And on that piece of furniture was a mirror. Not just any mirror it was quite a bit of work. The mirror was fancy with dark green decorative lines crisscrossing the frame.

I picked it up and tried picturing Raven using it to check her hair but I couldn’t. I grinned at the thought, though I wasn’t grinning long. Four red eyes appeared on the mirror’s surface. Then a red clawed hand that was surrounded in black grabbed me and pulled me into the mirror.

I could feel my eyes popping out of my head as I swirled down a red and black vortex. I screamed but I could tell no one might hear me. I landed with a jolt on a solid rock hanging in the air.



*This might be a little too much like Nevermore for you guys but oh well and sorry.*



“Ah man how do I get myself into these things?!?!” I asked the darkness around me. As if the darkness answered, more rocks floated towards mine and made a path. Where the heck am I any way? I thought to myself. Useless question as I had no way of telling. The only thing I could do was walk down the path.

Once I got going I saw a tree in the distance. I walked quicker hoping that maybe someone was by that tree and could help me out of here. I panted and leaned on it when I came to the leaf-less black tree. Trouble was the current occupants of the tree didn’t like me leaning on it. Twelve or so little black ravens stared down at me with their big, big eyes.

“Turn back, turn back…” they all echoed. I looked at them like ‘are you for real?’ and apparently they were as then they all into vicious ravens with big, sharp, pointy teeth. I ran down the path with the ravens over head trying to attack me. I went through what must’ve been a portal because I now found myself in a brightly colored place that would not have looked out of place in a toddler’s TV show.

I shifted my eyes from left to right and then jumped as something touched my back.

“What the ****?” I yelled.

“Hahaha got ya!!!” Raven laughed. Raven… laughed? No, this couldn’t be Raven she was wearing… PINK!!!

“Raven? Why the heck are you wearing pink? And how do we get out of here?” I asked. She giggled and once her giggles had demised she said.

“Oh this happened the last time some guys got in here on accident. Pink is like totally my favorite color and the Forbidden Door is the only way out. But wait. Aren’t that like, freakish guy that kidnapped us? Yeah you are. Ok well you’d better like get out of here cause the main girl out there won’t be happy is she finds out you’re like scurrying around in here.” Pink-Rae said.

“Us… out there… Forbidden Door? What on you on about?”

“Oh you don’t know. You’re like in Raven’s head ya know her mind.”

“So you’re one of her personalities? Happy! That’s it. That’s why you’re so preppy and... pink. Ok, ok enough with the chit-chat show me to the Forbidden Door.”

“Ok but you’re not gonna like it.” Pink-Rae said giggling again. I followed her zigzag path with a straight one. Then we went through another portal and wound up in the same place as before.

“Pink-Rae what do we do now?” I called out. But there was no answer. I started walking again and soon another Raven mood popped up. This one was dressed in gray.

“Um can you help me get to the Forbidden Door? Pink-Rae just deserted me so can you help?”

“Yeah. But when we get there you will most likely be trapped in here forever and then I’ll get blamed for it. Like always…” Gray-Rae stifled a sob and walked forward with her head down. With that sob I knew this was timid Raven; or sad hard to tell.

We had only taken a few steps when gray barriers sprang up around us. They stretched on and on twisting and turning every which way. I was smart enough to realize that this was a maze. Gray-Rae paid no attention to the blocks and continued to walk forward showing me the way through.

When we got to the end Gray-Rae said:

“Now you won’t like me but I don’t think it matters though because none of us like you anyway.”

“Nice…” I left Gray-Rae behind and then a Raven in a green cloak flew down to meet me. I was confused when she kicked me in the face, sending me flying into Gray-Rae. Gray-Rae’s lip trembled and she ran off crying.

“Uh what was that about?” I asked Green-Rae.

“Don’t ask me what that was about, the other moods might have been nice to you but I sure as hell won’t!” Green-Rae kicked me again. I groaned as I landed on my injured arm.

“I’m just trying to get to the Forbidden Door so I can get outta here.” Green-Rae pulled me up by the neck of my black cloak and hissed through gritted teeth:

“Well you’d better get a move on it before I throw you through it.” She dropped me and turned her back. I stood up slowly and looked over my shoulder at all the Ravens. Pink and Gray had reappeared but there were a lot more;Orange, Yellow, Brown, and countless others. Many of them glared at me as I walked towards the Forbidden Door.

I passed through the door and was once again falling through the red and black spiral. Once I got to the apparent safety of regular Raven’s room I stood up. I looked around just making sure I didn’t dream all of that. I ran out of the room as fast as I could and who do I run into in the hallway? Raven. Her defiant stare was much more frightening than any of the Raven moods’.

“You went into my room and my mind which means a big punishment. But I think your dad can do much better than we can.”

“Please, no have mercy, beautiful, kind, sweet Raven.”

“Oh put it in your pipe and smoke it.” She replied. Then she took me immediately to my father’s lair.

“I have a delivery from the Teen Titans.” Raven called as she entered the hideout with me.

“Excellent but you didn’t think you were going to get out of here without a fight did you?”

“No, I know I’m getting out of here without a fight.” And Raven disappeared before Slade had a chance to do anything.

“You however are not getting out of here… ever again.” Slade said and I shrank into the shadows awaiting my reprimand.

Ooh, YAY! YOu did the mirror thing like I asked you to!!! Thank you! Anyways, that was awesome! I can't wait to see what Slade has in store for Barelei!!!:evil: My only complaint is that when Barelei was in Raven's mind, he only satyed there for like, 2 minutes.:rolleyes: I think you should of made it longer and had Raven kick Barelei out of the mirror thingie. hey everyone i'm back!!!! and i have more ideas for this story.... :evil:

As told by Sparrow…


Raven told me everything. How Barelei went into her mind and how her fearless self had gotten him out. It was a little confusing but I got most of it. Basically he went through her mirror, met her happy, moody, and fearless sides and learned that the Forbidden Door was his only way out, and was in for the thrashing of his life from Slade. I wished I could see the look on his face right now.

Barelei was probably not going to be around for awhile. This was good news, we could rest, maybe. We were all in the living room each of us doing something different. I was fixing lunch for Raven and myself, Raven was reading, Cyborg was eating his lunch, BB was playing the Gamestation, Robin was on the computer, Star was asking questions about the articles Robin was reading and Terra was supposedly in her room. The atmosphere was relaxed and comforting. We needed a break from all the pandemonium that Barelei was causing.

I walked over to Raven and handed her some tea and left-over pizza. And I plopped down next to her and quickly ate mine. I was really hungry. After I had finished I took my dishes to the sink. I was happy that it wasn’t my turn to do them cause we had a bunch. Raven got up and whispered to me in the kitchen. She told me to meet her in her room. I was confused, but I did what I was told.

It felt kinda weird to be in Raven’s room alone. But I guess if she let me in it unaccompanied that ment she trusted me not to mess with anything. Quite frankly, I was too scared to tamper with anything. I felt that if I touched something, it might attack me or try to eat me. I felt a lot better when Raven entered the room.

“Hey what’s up?” I asked. Raven shook her head.

“I’m not sure I’ve just got this weird feeling.”

“What do you mean, like a vision or something?”

“Yeah kinda, I got a vision last night of Slade, Barelei and me in that really big room in his lair. Slade was saying something but I couldn’t hear it and then, he attacked me.” Raven explained.

“That’s weird.” I said. I could never understand the visions that Raven has until the thing she saw happens. I tried to comprehend this one but like usual I couldn’t. I don’t even think Raven implicit it.

Raven gave me a ‘you’re not helping’ look and I tried even harder to think. I sat down on the floor and closed my eyes thinking. This was kinda like meditation only I don’t hover. Well, Raven did start meditating. We were both thinking really hard and this was when I finally knew why Raven got so mad when people interrupt her when she’s meditating. It breaks your train of thought and if you were about to get an idea you forget it.

Beast Boy knocked on the door. Raven rolled her eyes. I went over to the door to open it.

“What do you want?” Raven asked from inside the room.

“Robin was worried about you guys and told me to make sure you were still here. I mean the last time someone was in their room alone they got kidnapped. And Robin also said you can’t be too careful… uh bye!” Beast Boy must have noticed Raven getting angry and that’s why he ran off. I shook my head. He’s known Raven for long enough to know that she wouldn’t hurt him even if she got really mad, and believe me I’ve made her really mad before.



As told by Slade…



This boy has been more trouble than he’s worth. Running off and disobeying me, I thought he was going to be a much better apprentice but he has proved too smart for his own good. So I have to enter myself into his brain. A microchip will able me to use his powers and control him from his brain. Much more sophisticated than the one I used on Terra because I’m controlling him from the inside.

“Barelei come here!”

“Yes father.” He said. So innocent so unprepared for what I’m about to do to him.

“Lay down.” My son winced slightly not knowing what his punishment was going to be. I injected some anesthesia into his arm and I watched as he slowly fell asleep.

I woke up with a major headache and I was hungry. I went into the kitchen type thing we have wondering what on earth had happened. Slade had put me to sleep, and then I can’t remember. All I knew was that my head was pounding. Then something strange happened. I shot a curse across the room with out meaning to.

I had long ago taken full control of my powers so nothing like that would happen but this was weird. I shook my head to make sure I hadn’t been imaging things. Sure enough there was a dent in the wall where my curse had hit it. I guessed it was because I was tired. I continued making myself something to eat when suddenly; I dropped the plate I was holding. I felt strange and I went to go get a glass of water but it felt like an invisible force was holding me back.

“What the hell?” I asked myself. Just then Slade entered the room.

“Yes it seems to be working fine.” He said.

“What did you do?” I asked with fear in my voice.

“Nothing you won’t thank me for later.” Slade said casually.

“What… did… you…do!” I yelled. This time it wasn’t a question, it was a demand.

“Impatient are we, very well then I will tell you but I don’t think you’re going to like it. But there’s nothing you can do so… I have placed a microchip in your brain, I have total control over you and your powers and like I said, there is nothing you can do about it.”

How could he do this to me? I’m, I’m his son. And I’m the only one who can help him, but now all he wants to do is help himself. Mister independent; yeah dad you don’t need any help all you need is a body to control so if the person dies, it’s no skin off your nose. You just don’t want to get out there and do it yourself. You don’t know how it actually is out there in battle.

I had an idea. I sure couldn’t do anything about my dad controlling me, but I could do something else. I gave my dad a glare and stormed up the stairs to my room. And I did some brain surgery on myself. Again I hacked into my father’s computer which was harder than last time cause he added some more passwords and protectors, but I finally found the file about my chip.

I scanned through the paragraph until I found one about how he could help me in battle.

“Using powers… improving strength, blah, blah. Perfect; pain!” I scrutinized the section. I smiled, just what I was looking for. Slade couldn’t feel my pain when I was fighting. I went through more passwords and walls to find out how I could make him experience my pain. And when I had, I couldn’t wait until my next battle with the Titans, where I would purposely get myself beat up.



As told by Beast Boy…



Robin had told me to check on Terra, Raven and Sparrow. I had already checked on Raven and Sparrow and almost got myself critically injured in doing it. I went to check on Terra, and I was happy I’d done Raven first. Terra could comfort me after Raven’s irritated session. But what Robin has said was true you couldn’t be too careful. But why was I the one that always seemed to interrupt Raven when she’s meditating?

I knocked on Terra’s door.

“Come in.” came Terra’s voice. It sounded a bit off, like she was tired or something.

“You ok?” I asked as I had entered.

“Beast Boy…hi.” Terra said in a falsely happy tone. I crossed my arms disbelieving. Terra’s face fell. “I’ve been feeling bad about coming here. It wasn’t right. I’ve made Raven upset, Robin restless, Star more preppy than usual, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but it seems to be making Raven even more pissed at me.”

“But you’ve made me really happy, the happiest I’ve been in forever.” I said quickly, I thought I knew what was coming.

“I think I should just go, I’ve only been here a month but, I don’t know what to do. I thought that I fit in here, but I now know that I don’t belong anywhere.”

“Terra NO! I don’t want to loose you again!” I cried. “I love you, I- I don’t know what I’d do if you left again.” Terra bit her lip, fighting back tears.

“How can I stay?”

“The way you have been for the last month.”

“I just can’t take it anymore, all the pressure. Every time I walk into a room Raven acts like she’s gonna kill me.”

“Try to make peace with her.”

“And coming from the guy that makes Raven mad every day this is good information?” Terra was trying to add some humor into this distressing conversation.

“Go talk to her, you might be surprised.” I said with more confidence than I had.

“Fine but it’s for you.” Terra said as she half dragged herself, half marched out the door.



As told by Terra…



I was feeling pretty stupid right then. Trying to talk to Raven, for me, was like rolling in BBQ sauce and jumping into a cage full of vicious, hungry, tigers; very dangerous. I tried procrastinating; bending down like I was tying my shoe, only to realize I had boots on and that BB was watching me. When I got to her door I tapped on it with my knuckles so that it barely made a sound.

I looked back at Beast Boy who rolled his eyes; he musta gone through the same thing many times prior to apologizing to Raven. I gulped and knocked properly this time.

“What?” Raven snapped when she opened the door a crack.

“Hi can we talk? I think that we need to ya know put the past behind us and start off on a clean page, know what I mean?”

Raven looked as if I had just told her to jump off a bridge. And I was thinking: God please help me! when Raven opened the door all the way.

“But this doesn’t mean,” she said as she came out of her room. “That I’m going to forgive you.” I nodded and we proceeded to the roof. Raven’s idea, I was just following her. When we got up all those stairs we sat down facing each other. I took a deep breath and spilt everything I had ever wanted to tell all the Titans, especially her, about what had happened with Slade.

“Ok I’m absolutely not going to blame how I acted to you guys on Slade. I thought that I wanted to be that way and that with Slade was where I belonged, my purpose. But as our battles went on I realized that he wasn’t going to treat me like a normal teacher treats his students. He has as little mercy for his followers as for his enemies.

I was so mad at myself and you guys that I decided that I wanted revenge, I could whip you around a bit, get my revenge, and let you guys kill me. It would work, that was until Slade decided to control my body and listen to my thoughts. He realized I was going let you kill me and put the control on me right away. He made me stand and fight for real, not trying to get killed fighting.

So when I tried to get BB to destroy me he wouldn’t, couldn’t do it. I was hoping that I would never come back from being stone, the only thing I had left to live for was Beast Boy’s love and I wasn’t sure that if I came back he’d still love me, he might had moved on.” I explained. Raven just looked at me. I couldn’t tell if she was mad or not.

“Can you say something? You’re making me nervous.” I said hurriedly. Raven closed her eyes for like two minutes. But still she didn’t say anything. I was beginning to get annoyed. “Why didn’t I just tell this all to Beast Boy? He would have actually said something.” Well right after I had said that I wished I hadn’t. Raven got a pissed look in her face.

“Yeah maybe you should have! I was only doing this for your precious boyfriend anyway! If you haven’t noticed we’re becoming more like friends. He’s not so annoying and even a little funny not that I’m starting to understand him more. But I guess you want to upset him because he told me he wants us to be friends. As if!” Raven yelled at me.

“Well maybe if you weren’t so busy hating everyone things would be better around here!” I yelled right back at her. Raven’s hair flew up and flared out around her head.

“You're the same backstabbing little ***** you always were Terra and if you ever think I’m going to forgive you, well you’ve got another thing coming!”

“I’m so ****ing tired of people telling me what to do!” I shouted my eyes glowing yellow. Just then Robin came running up the stairs. My eyes went back to normal and Raven’s hair fell back into place.

“What the heck is going on up here? We can all hear you yelling from the living room.” Raven stormed down the staircase and I glared at her retreating back. “What happened?” Robin said more stiffly.

“We had an argument don’t worry about it.” I said. He shook his head and went back to the others. I stayed on the roof, I needed to think and this nice cool night was exactly what would help.


did i do a good job? bad? ok? tell me what i'm doing right and wrong, i need to know i'm doing something wrong!!!! :( if you don't have the time to tell me something was bad, then stop reading the fic, honestly, i'm getting tired of seeing 'cool' and 'great' no offece. :sweat: i just want to make this better.

well part of the reason i did that was cause i promised Raven37 i would, and it seemed to fit there. oh and i meant for the whole fic and the chapters to come. i realize i haven't been labeling my chapters. :sweat: ooops, evertime i want to start a new chapter i forget. so just a guess this last ch, probably was ch 9 or 10 so for my next update it will chapter 10. i did that on my last fic too. *smacks self in head* stupid stupid stupid ooo something shiny! see that's what happens i get sidetracked. more as soon as i can! :D which will probably be tomorrow. stupid. :rolleyes:

I ran to my room and locked the door. Although this was unnecessary because everyone was too scared to bother me when I was mad. I leaned on the door and followed its downward path to the floor. I took deep calming breaths. I couldn’t risk getting any madder. If I did, well I have no idea what would happen, especially cause I have no idea how Trigon would react. Would he come out of the book? Would my anger be like a normal persons’? The list of questions would go on and on.

I went to the radio to turn on some soothing music. I paused at the station it was already on to see if it was the right one. It wasn’t but I listened to the song that was just beginning.

With the last beat of the song I collapsed on my bed and cried. Not a rush of on going tears, just a few but enough to break my windows. I didn’t know why I had wept I just did. It was also enough to make a passer by my door hear them. I knew that when somebody knocked on my door.

“Who is it? I managed to call out.

“The last person you want to see right now.” The voice said. The last person I wanted to see right now was Terra, and I knew that it wasn’t Terra on the other side of the door. Then it must be Beast Boy, he probably thought all this was his fault somehow. But I was going to reassure him that it wasn’t. It was mine, mostly anyway.

“Come in Beast Boy.” I told him. There was a silence out side my room.

“Did you say come in?” he asked in astonishment.

“What are you deaf now? Yes come in.” I said exasperatedly. When he didn’t I opened the door and pulled him in. I could see him shiver and blink while trying to adjust to the coldness and darkness of my room.

When he finally stopped getting used to my room he asked me, in a surprisingly gentle tone that I had only heard him use when he was talking to Terra:

“Are you ok, I heard you crying and well…?” Beast Boy blushed a little, or maybe it was a lot it was hard to tell in the dark.

“You don’t have to get embarrassed about caring if I’m alright or not. And I guess I’m ok.” Then, remembering that the radio was still on I turned it off. It was in the middle of playing the commercials anyway. Then I sighed.

“Beast Boy can you go see if Terra’s still on the roof? I need some fresh air.”

“Yeah, we can go up there, I want to talk to you.” Beast Boy headed out of the room and down the hall. A minuet or two later my communicator started beeping.

“No one up here, come on.” Beast Boy told me. I nodded and flipped off the comm. Then I went up to the roof. I musta scared Beast Boy because I came up through the floor.

“Sorry.” I said at his surprised look. He smiled a bit. “So… you wanted to talk to me?” I asked.

“Yeah, it was my entire fault.” I gave him a confused look. What was his entire fault?

“Robin told you that Terra fought Barelei and came here for help, but that’s not true. I saw Terra fighting him and brought her back here, that’s why everything that has happen with Terra is my fault; the fight, everything.” Beast Boy looked hopelessly at me.

I could’ve gotten mad, but at the same time Beast Boy was being truthful to me. I also could’ve gotten angry at Robin but I knew that even though he lied to me, he would’ve told me the truth eventually. Frankly I didn’t want to get mad at anyone at this point. It was bad enough that I was ticked off at Terra.

We sat down on the edge of the roof looking at the waves crashing up the island. I felt weird to be alone with Beast Boy. It just didn’t seem right, I mean he’s with Terra and I’m with Sparrow, and if someone, especially one of them, saw us together they might jump to conclusions. But I had never really cared what other people thought until Sparrow and I realized our feelings.

Still, I didn’t feel like this was a, as Beast Boy would call it, ‘moment’ between us. What it felt like to me was two friends talking because one was upset; which I thought it was.

“It’s ok Beast Boy; I knew that sooner or later this was gonna happen even if I didn’t want it to. I appreciate you being honest with me to say the least. That is something I find very noble; even if it takes you a month to tell the truth.” Again Beast Boy flushed. I didn’t know why he was acting so timid tonight.

"Thanks Rae but I’m not noble, I’m stupid. I should have never brought her back here…”

“Even though her presence makes me restless, Terra makes you happy. That’s what matters. Although I dislike her, I would never let Barelei do her in.”

“That means loads to me Rae. Yeah she does make me happy… but I don’t know my feelings are all messed up right now.“ I nodded and looked up at the deep blue sky.

There was a beautiful full moon with clouds sweeping across it from time to time. The tower is far enough away from the city that its light doesn’t block the stars. And there were so many stars out that night. It was peaceful sitting there next to my new found friend and gazing up at the stars. Beast Boy looked up too.

“I wish, I wish that I could go back and take it all away.” He mumbled more to himself than to me. I put a hand on his shoulder.

“It’s the little mistakes in life that change you forever in the future.” I told him gently. This seemed to make him feel better, and I had already begun to feel better just being with someone who was trying to help me. I took my hand off Beast Boy’s shoulder and leaned back; using my arms for support.

I felt something warm touch my hand after I had gotten settled.

“What are you doing?” I stammered at Beast Boy. He hastily removed his hand from on top of mine.

“I was, uh that is…” Beast Boy searched for the right words. He gave up and glowed crimson once again. “L- Like I said my feelings are messed up, I don’t really know if I still love Terra.”

“But, but me? I, I’m flattered but...”

“I know you care for Sparrow and I won’t try to change that but…” I looked at Beast Boy. I didn’t know what to say. I kept looking at Beast Boy for the longest time. But what he didn’t know was that I was reading his thoughts.

Oh man I am so stupid!!! I should have kept my mouth shut she was happy not knowing. God what is she thinking? Am I the biggest idiot ever? Ugh! This is going to drive me crazy! I just hope she doesn’t tell anyone what I did… well almost did.

“I promise I won’t tell.” I said quietly. Beast Boy looked at me taken aback.

“Dude you were reading my thoughts?!?! It’s bad enough I nearly…” I silenced him by kissing his cheek and leaving the roof.

This left Beast Boy very stunned. I knew I didn’t have to worry about if Sparrow found out cause he wouldn’t mind; Beast Boy is one of his best friends. I watched Beast Boy through the window in the roof door for awhile. He was just kinda looking around and shook his head a few times to make sure he wasn’t dreaming. I had to work hard to keep my laughter in, really hard.

Chapter 10 pt. 2


As told by Sparrow…



I went to Raven’s room to find her. She had been gone for a long time since Robin came down and told us about her and Terra’s fight. When I didn’t find her there I tried the roof. But before I got up to it I ran into her in the hallway leading to the roof.

“Hey what’s up?” she asked. Raven looked as if she was fighting back giggles.

“Oh I was just going up to the roof to find you but, here you are. What have you been up to?”

“You know just… stuff.” I could tell something was up because Raven had answered me way too quickly. I gave her a look. “Ok if you really want to know, Beast Boy wanted to talk to me.” I smiled at her. BB might like Raven, and that would be kinda weird cause he’s one of my best friends.

But then again, he might get jealous of me, but that’s only if he does like her. I was afraid to ask because he’s supposed to like Terra. If he did and Terra found out, well we’d never hear the end of it. But I’m thinking for no reason; BB probably doesn’t think of Raven more than just a friend.

“Oh, so do you want to get out of the tower for awhile? It might be nice for you to get outta here for a bit.” I don’t know why but whenever I asked Raven out on a date, it felt like we were just friends and I was proposing that we hang out. I guess it’s because before Raven I had no experience in asking girls out on dates, so I didn’t have the confidence to tell her it was going to be a date.

But Raven knew it was anyway. So she said:

“Sure, I just want to go somewhere quiet. And we’d better leave a note so the others don’t think we’ve been kidnapped or something.”

“Why don’t we just we tell… oh I get it.” I picked up a piece of paper from Raven’s desk type thing and scribbled:

Raven and I just went out for awhile, don’t worry; we’ll be back in three hours or so.

“Finished.” I told Raven and she retrieved it from me to tape it on her door. I held out my hand and Raven took it as she finished taping. We walked up to the roof and flew off into the night; thankfully BB wasn’t still up there. He might ask questions and I knew Raven was in no mood for that.

I had heard that there was going to be a fireworks display at 9 at a carnival. Now I knew a carnival wasn’t the quietest place in the world, but I thought that we could watch them from a cliff near the shoreline because the fair was only a few miles away from the beach.

It would be the perfect spot. But it was only 8:35 so we had some time to go to Raven’s favorite coffee shop to get some drinks for the show. It seemed like a lot of people know Raven here.

“Hey Raven what’s up? Who’s your new friend?” I boy with long black hair asked her. He had on black baggy pants and a dark gray shirt with a light gray skull on the front. The guy looked Goth, but you can never tell for sure. I was happy that I had worn my black outfit; it made me blend in better here.

“Not much Kyle, oh and this is Sparrow. He’s a friend of mine from Azarath.” Kyle’s face showed no expression. Mine didn’t either, I was trying to look like I belonged here, so I acted as much like Raven as I could. So all I did was nod.

“Can I buy you guys something to drink?” Kyle asked. Raven nodded mutely and got us a table by a window. It didn’t seem to make much of a difference because the drapes were such a dark black no light could shine through them. Kyle returned with three Styrofoam cups full of coffee.

“Thanks, remind me next time that I owe you a drink.” Raven said to Kyle. We drank our coffee in silence, and it was really good. Now I knew why Raven liked it here so much. She could relate to these people and she fit in here.

I dozed after changing the settings in my chip. But I was rudely awoken by my father who had something he wanted me to do.

“Barelei you must go to the cliff by the carnival, wait for Sparrow and Raven, then kidnap Raven. Make sure you knock Sparrow out or something and bring him here too. I don’t want him telling the other titans that Raven was kidnapped.” Slade ordered me.

“Why?” I inquired.

“I did not order you to ask questions! I gave you your instructions and you will follow them without talking back! Is that clear?” Slade obviously was in a bad mood so I didn’t pursue the subject; I walked out of the door without another word.

Now was my chance to get myself beaten up, but I was hoping that my showdown was going to be with Robin or someone else, not Sparrow. If I loose to him he will think he can beat me, and since Sparrow’s my enemy I don’t want to look like a pansy while fighting him. I had a decision to make, get revenge on Slade and loose to my adversary or win and do what my father said.

And then there were my questions about why Slade wanted Raven. I mean if he wanted to weaken the Titans he should’ve gotten Robin. I flew unseen in the darkness to the cliff Sparrow and Raven would soon perch upon. When I saw their silhouettes approaching, I knew I had to make my decision fast. And I was pretty sure which I was going to choose.

Chapter 11



(Still) as told by Barelei…



I watched them sit down on the cliff side looking up at the stars. It was a cloudy night and it was hard to see the stars, but you could see the moon. It was full and glowing sliver and with the clouds floating across it, it looked like a crystal ball. I went back to watching Sparrow and Raven. They had just gotten settled. I wondered why they were here. There wasn’t anything interesting or fun here. Well if all they wanted to do was look at the stars and moon they picked a bad night for that.

Just then a thunderous bang startled me quite a bit. It was a firework from the near by fair. So that’s why they were here. Raven doesn’t like crowds so they decided to watch the show from here. It was going to be a shame to ruin their night out, but that’s what bad guys do. Sparrow and Raven watched as the green and blue firework soared into the sky.

They watched the fireworks light up the sky with brilliant light and sound. I decided to wait until the show was over before striking.

“What are you waiting for? Attack!” Slade said. I guessed he could talk to me though the chip as well as control me.

“Um I’m waiting until the show’s over so they won’t be expecting an attack.” I thought. I was pretty sure Slade would be able to hear my thoughts.

“Right after the show then.” He said and then I was left alone…

“What, huh?” I whispered confusedly.

“Wake up how can you be asleep? This is a fireworks display; fireworks are loud! Go and get them that is, if you didn’t let them get away.” Slade yelled. I got up and crept slowly towards Sparrow and Raven. I stepped on a twig and cringed. I ducked down just as Sparrow turned around. I couldn’t tell if he saw me but I didn’t care, I was ready to attack.

“What’s wrong?” I heard Raven ask him.

“Nothing… just, oh never mind.” He turned around and held Raven’s hand. I got a little closer took aim and shot a curse right at Sparrow’s back. To my disgust ever since I had stepped on the twig, Sparrow had been on his guard. Right away he knew it was me from the blood red color of my curse.

“Look out!” he yelled. He ducked and pulled Raven down with him. Sparrow drew his sword. Ok I was wondering why he had it in the first place; most people don’t bring weapons on dates. Raven flew up into the sky and cleared the trees around me.

“Azarath… Metrion… Zinthos!! She cried throwing some of the fallen trees at me. I dodged though narrowly. I knew that I shouldn’t hurt Raven too badly if my father needed her for something so I didn’t attack her right away.

Sparrow ran towards me and I tripped him. He tripped me as well. I got on him and wrapped my arm around his neck choking him on the ground. But I had forgotten that this was a two against one fight. Raven pulled me off Sparrow. She also hit me with some rocks that were on the cliff. I grabbed Sparrow’s wrist as he was getting up and threw him at Raven. She caught him in a shield and lowered him to the ground. She then backed away letting me and Sparrow fight the battle that had been going between us forever.

Sparrow threw a punch-kick combo at me. I blocked the punches but got hit in the stomach with the kick. I doubled over and paid for it. He punched me again, this time in the head. Again I tripped him, but as he was going down his sword cut in to my shoulder.



As told by Sparrow…



I had thrown out my arms to break my fall as Barelei tripped me. But I forgot my sword was in my right hand. It made quite a cut in Barelei’s shoulder; I mean for an unintentional slash it was pretty deep. He held his shoulder in pain. Blood was covering his hand and jumpsuit. He took some time to heal it enough to stop the bleeding, and then he shot me with a curse. I side-stepped but it still hit my left arm. Barelei turned his back on me and shot Raven. She was unprepared so it hit her with full force; so much force in fact that she went flying off the overhang.

“Raven!” I yelled

“I’m ok! Watch out for Barelei!” Raven said in a muffled voice. She was right. Raven could fly and had probably landed without being hurt. But when Barelei ran towards me he didn’t try to attack, he jumped off the cliff after Raven. I tried to see what was going on but couldn’t. There was too much stuff in the way. I heard some slightly inaudible shouts and grunts as Raven fought Barelei.

Ten, fifteen, I don’t know how many minutes later Barelei flew up with Raven. She had been knocked out. Barelei had Raven’s head resting on his uninjured shoulder and held her up with his arm. It made my blood boil to see him holding her. I tried to attack him but before I had even raised my sword, Barelei hit me and I fell down. My head crashed into a very solid rock and then, darkness.



As told by Raven…



I woke up in an empty concrete room. Well almost empty, it had a folding chair and the small uncomfortable cot I was laying on. And in that folding chair was Barelei.

“Ah I see you’re awake. Good, my father will be pleased that his future apprentices are awake.”

“What are you talking about? Where’s Sparrow? Apprentices?” I asked frightfully.

“He’s in one piece, trust me nothing bad is going to happen if you just do what Slade says.” Barelei said. At that time I didn’t realize it but he was using a surprisingly placid tone.

“Trust…you?” I said sarcastically. “Right.”

“Look,” he said trying to put his hand on my shoulder. I jerked away from his would-be comfort gesture. “I don’t want the same thing that happened to me, to happen to you.”

“What about Sparrow?” I asked coldly.

“I admire how you put others before yourself but believe me, if you’re that intent on saving him too, I’ll help.” Barelei wanted to help me? Was this a trick?

“I’m perfectly capable of seeing through your charade but thanks for trying.”

“Charade? No, I really wanna help. If you just give me a day to be a good guy…”

“Give me a break. I’ve learned my lesson ok?” I was beginning to get ticked at his stubbornness. He gave me a puzzled look. I didn’t feel like explaining what had happened with Terra and Malchior so I just got up and tried to walk out the door.

But he got up and stood in my path.

“If you want to help me… then get out of my way!” I said through gritted teeth.

“Just listen to me. If you don’t let me help, there’s no way you’ll be able to find him. You’ll get lost and Slade will hurt you worse than he was planning.” I bowed my head as realization struck me. I couldn’t do it without his help, or at least him helping me find Sparrow.



As told by Beast Boy…



Although I was still a little jumpy from my conversation with Raven I went to check on Terra. She had been missing since like 5:20 or so, ever since she had fought with Raven. I knocked on her door.

“Who is it?” came her reply to the knock.

“It’s BB.” I said hesitantly, I wasn’t sure if she would blame me for what happened.

“Come in… I wanna talk to you, real bad.” She said. I came in feeling truly guilty.I looked at Terra. She was in her pajamas again making me feel really light headed. I sat down on the bed next to her wondering if I should tell her that my feelings had changed since she left and I didn’t realize it when we had our moment, but I decided not to.

“Whatcha wanna talk about?” I asked.

“I don’t know I just really wanted to see a friendly face. I mean isn’t everyone else mad at me for making Raven mad?”

“I don’t think so; I haven’t been downstairs since the fight happened. But I’ll go if you want.” I made a motion to get up. Terra stopped me.

“No that’s ok, I was just wondering. I’ve been trying to make things work around here but no matter what I do I end up making someone mad. You’re the only one who hasn’t yelled at me Beast Boy and… and sometimes I feel like you’re the only one who wants me here. I just want you guys to trust me.”

“I do, I mean we do, I mean… ugh I don’t know what I mean. I’m not making sense even to myself. Terra I’m really sorry but I just, I uh… I don’t… l-l-l.” I stuttered. I couldn’t tell her now; she looked so miserable and helpless. I got up and ran out of the room.

“Beast Boy what’s wrong? You know you can tell me anything. I love you.” Terra said rushing after me.

“That’s the problem, I don’t know if it’s the same anymore.” I said hastily. Then I ran into my bedroom and closed the door. I couldn’t think or feel right, I just wanted to curl up in bed and never face the Titans again, never answer their questions. And that’s what I did. I changed into some flannel pants and got into bed.

I was so mad at myself; I didn’t want to feel again. I just wanted to lay there with my messed up feelings. I picked up a book, one of the only books in my room, and started to read. It actually made me forget everything that was going on as I got into the story. I fell asleep after about 30 minutes of reading.

There was a loud knock at my door. I shook myself awake.

“W-who is it?” I asked groggily.

“Robin, I’m coming in ok?” He opened the door as I sat up. He flipped on the light.

“Dude turn it off, that hurts!” I said blinking.

“Beast Boy this is serious. Raven and Sparrow never came back from their date last night.”

“WHAT?!? They never came back? What happen to them? Where are they now? Do you know anything besides the fact that they’re not here?!?!?!” I shouted. I was fully awake now, and I realized that I had overreacted a little bit but right now was not the best time for me to find out that one of my best friends and crush were missing.

I jumped out of bed and wanted to rush down to the living room to find out what exactly was happing.

“Beast Boy you need to get dressed before you go down there.” Robin told me before leaving the room. He was right; I dressed quickly accidentally putting my shoes on the wrong feet, but I didn’t care. All I wanted to do was find Raven and Sparrow.

Chapter 12


As told by Sparrow…



I had fallen into an uneasy sleep, only to be awoken many times by my frantically beating heart. At aboutthree A.M. I decided to give up on sleep and think about the situation. I had no idea where I was or how I could get out of the room I was in. The room looked like it was made out of titanium, impossible to break out of. So I just had to sit and wait until someone came to tell me that they were going to kill me.

But that’s not what happened. Early that morning four or five cloaked workers brought me a pitiful breakfast containing: a cold biscuit, soggy cercal, and lukewarm milk. They had left the door wide open as they came to feed me. I knew that if I was going to get out of that cell, this was my chance.

I knocked two of them out with the hilt of my sword, by banging it into their heads. The others tried to run but I took control over their bodies and made them stop. I walked out the door and tried to figure out where to go. I heard an amused voice over some loud speakers.

“Ah yes Sparrow, I thought I wouldn’t keep you in that room for very long. But you know I have my ways of making you do what I want.”

“He’s got Raven.” I murmured. Slade knew I was out of the room and probably was tracking me so no matter where I went, he would know. I ran down a corridor and sat in a dark corner.

I checked myself thoroughly for trackers of any kind, and gave up. As far as I could tell there were none on me. But even if Slade wasn’t tracking me, he still had security cameras all over the place. There was no way I could try and find Raven with out Slade knowing, and who knew where she’d be? This place could be enormous.



As told by Barelei…



I shook Raven’s shoulder slightly, willing her to wake up. She opened her eyes, took one look at me and jerked away. I gave her an apologetic look. She scowled. I could tell she didn’t want me touching her again, and if I did I would be in for some pain. Obviously she doesn’t trust me.

“Listen I heard that Sparrow broke out of his chamber this morning and my father doesn’t know where he is. But I’m sure you can find him with this.” And I held out her communicator. She stared at the round black and yellow device in my hand.

I urged her to take it.

“Where’d you get mine and what use is it? Slade probably took Sparrow’s.”

“That’s were you’re wrong… I was supposed to take Sparrow’s but I didn’t, I left it with him. I thought we might need to contact him.” I explained. Raven took the comm. and narrowed her eyes as if she thought I was up to something. I looked around nervously hoping that my father wouldn’t realize that I had stayed the whole night in here.

Raven called Sparrow and waited anxiously.

“Uh, hi; why do I still have this with me?” Sparrow asked confused.

“No time to explain, I just wanted to make sure you were ok and can you tell us where you are?” Raven said in a rush.

“I’m fine but Slade knows I got out of that cell I was in. He’s on the look out for me. But right now I’m in a kinda storage room its empty though. I decided to hide here cause there aren’t any security cameras, so Slade won’t find me. Wait you said us who’s with you?”

“Barelei, but I’ll explain when we’re done here. I need to call Robin so he knows we’re ok and Barelei’s going to help me find you. It’ll take all day without a person who knows their way around here.” Raven elucidated. Sparrow nodded and left Raven and me to it.

Raven didn’t waste any time telling Robin she and Sparrow were ok and that they’d be home tonight, so then we were on our way looking for Sparrow. I was pretty sure I knew which storage room he ment, but I couldn’t be sure. We didn’t have many empty storerooms so it would be easy to locate. Plus if we didn’t find it, we could get a signal and try to trace Sparrow. But that would be risky for my father would know if I was using his computer, and that’s the only computer we have that can track things.

But luckily, or somewhat unluckily, we found him in the room I guessed. I had Raven borrow one of my black cloaks so she would look like a worker and wouldn’t raise suspicion. I opened the door to the room revealing a thoroughly confused Sparrow wanting answers and a small fairly dark room. He came up to Raven and me looking distraught.



As told by Sparrow…



I was all ready mad when I heard that Barelei was going to be helping Raven find me but this really got me ticked. Barelei was standing a little too close to Raven for my liking, and she seemed to notice too. Although she was too troubled to do anything, I wasn’t. Wait, was I getting defensive? That seemed to be the right word, but I didn’t want Barelei’s disgusting hands anywhere near Raven.

Raven looked amid us, not knowing what to say, just imaging the fire of hate that was brewing from us.

“Come on Raven, now that you’ve found me there’s no reason for us to stay.” I said glaring daggers at Barelei, who looked just as furiously back at me. I seized Raven’s wrist and practically dragged her to find an exit.

“Sparrow what’s going on?” Raven asked at my fury pulled her wrist out of my grasp. I sighed. I was being stupid, not just stupid but way too protective.

“I’m sorry, it’s just I know something about him that many other people can’t see, and it’s…” but Raven cut me off.

“Yeah I know he likes me, but let’s not talk about that. Now where is a fricken door outta here?” Raven pondered. I was shocked that she knew. Giving up our search for an exit, Raven tried to use a portal to get us out. Surprisingly, it worked, but then as I thought about it, it made sense cause if Raven couldn’t do it; neither could Barelei.

We ventured towards TitansIsland; taking our time so we could enjoy our newly restored company.

“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have agreed to Barelei’s help but I wanted to find you as fast as I could, and he was the only one offering help.” Raven said very fast, so it took awhile to register what she had said.

“Nah its ok, I was being… protective, I guess, I uh um…” I could feel my cheeks reddening. Raven gave me a look that was hard to read, part flattery, part embarrassment and maybe some other emotions mixed up in her eyes. I grinned trying to ignore the hot feeling in my cheeks.

Raven gave me a small smile and we walked up to the fount door of TitansTower. We parted in the entrance hall, Raven saying that a long shower would do her good, and me saying I’d catch her later. I went into the living room and was greeted by all the Titans who had been anxiously waiting my and Raven’s arrival. I told then that we’d explain later but Beast Boy, as usual kept, asking.

“Just drop it all right. I’m tired and can’t explain it all.” I snapped. Why was he so persistence anyway? Beast Boy stopped bombarding me with inquiries after I sought refuge in my room, but he did follow me up the stairs; questions that didn’t really have anything to with what had happened being thrown at me, all of which went unanswered.

I went into my room and sat down on the bed. I could still hear Beast Boy’s muffled questions through the door, but he left as I tossed a book at the door. It banged loudly telling him he’d better leave or else. I put my face in my hands thinking hard. I was tried, but I had promised the others that Raven and I would explain later. Then again, they didn’t know how later, later was. I leaned back on to my pillows trying to get some sleep after the restless night.

I felt myself waking up. The journey to consciousness didn’t take me long, as I preferred not to fight it. I looked out my window and saw darkness. I had slept through the rest of the day, or yesterday. I changed into some sweat pants and a T-shirt not wanting to sleep in my uniform anymore. Then I headed down stairs for some food, having missed dinner.

“Sparrow?” I hear a distinctly male voice call through the shadows. He came in the moonlight pouring from the tower windows.

“Hey Robin, what are you doing up?”

“I might ask you the same question.” He said. Robin was smart. Not wanting the conversation to land on himself he would try and direct every question back at me.

“You guys didn’t bother waking me up for dinner so I’m getting some food.”

“Raven said it was for the best because she thought you hadn’t gotten much sleep the night before.” Robin accompanied me into the kitchen and watched me search the fridge for something that wasn’t covered in blue fuzz, or tofu.

Robin’s gaze left me and settled on the windows. I found something that looked edible and warmed it in the microwave.

“So…why are you up?” I asked again this time more forcefully wanting an answer. I pulled out the food and put it on a plate. I grabbed a fork and started eating it, realizing it was some kind of meat. Robin analyzed me wondering if he should tell me or not.

“I couldn’t sleep so I was trying to figure out why Slade wouldn’t have stopped you guys from leaving. Care to tell me what happened?” I sighed and began the annoyingly long story. I began with Barelei attacking Raven and me on our date and concluded with me storming off with her. By that time my plate lay empty and Robin looked thoughtful.

I waited for Robin to answer and when he didn’t I got up and put my stuff in the sink.

“I’m just gonna go upstairs and get some more sleep. See ya in the morning.” I headed to my room. Robin kept looking at me with that gaze of his that seemed to be seeing inside me and know exactly what I was thinking and feeling. I hurried up the stairs to escape that all knowing stare.

I heard noises coming from Raven’s room, they sounded like terrified whimpers. I punched in the code to unlock her door, knowing it from when I had stayed in her room before. Raven tossed about fretfully her face paler than usual. A huge gust of wind blew thought out the room, her power’s way of showing that she was having a nightmare. Carefully I walked over to her bed and brushed my hand against her cheek, hoping this would wake her.

Raven’s eyes jerked open, but when she saw it was me she threw her arms around my neck.

“Sparrow it was so real, so…”

“Shhhh I know its ok, it was just a dream.” But I wasn’t sure of my words. Raven’s dreams had a tendency to be visions that would come real sooner or later. I held her close and hopped that my presence was making her feel better. I brushed Raven’s hair out of her eyes and she gave me a small smile. It was so small in fact; most people wouldn’t even have noticed it.



As told by Raven…



I was relieved that someone had come to comfort me. I didn’t want to know what would have happened if I had kept sleeping. I looked up into Sparrow’s dark green eyes and wondered why I hadn’t realized how much I liked their color. And thankfully Sparrow didn’t wear a mask so I could always tell what he was feeling through his eyes. Right now they shone with caring and a little nervousness; although I couldn’t tell why that was there.

I sat up in bed and released my grip on Sparrow’s neck. He just looked around my room, not knowing what to say. Any of the other’s would have asked me to explain my dream, but Sparrow knew me better and knew I’d tell when I was ready. Right now I didn’t even feel like amplification anyway, the fear was too fresh in my mind; the devastation, him… all too fresh.

And the dread that it was all going to happen and not just a nightmare. I just wanted to sit here with Sparrow and not think about it until I had to. I sighed and chanted in my head: Azarath… Metrion… Zinthos… I had been awhile since I had meditated, not doing so since early yesterday. But I gave up, my mind wanting to pay more attention to Sparrow than meditation; though I didn’t want my powers to hurt him if they went out of control.

Sparrow moved closer to the middle of the bed, he had been sitting on the edge. He pulled me over to him and held me around the waist. I felt a not-so familiar flutter in my stomach. I put my head on his chest, feeling a little drowsy but feared that if I did fall asleep I would have the nightmare again. I felt the tremble again as Sparrow started to stroke my hair.

All the while my sides were screaming different things to me. “Oh just kiss him already!” Pink no doubt about that. “No just wait and s-see what he d-does.” Gray. “I believe that he will know when it’s time to make the move.” Yellow. I ignored them and went with what I felt as a whole. But I just sat still. I didn’t know what I should do. The first times just blew me away and this time wasn’t any different.

I felt Sparrow’s hand under my chin. He pulled my head up to look at him. I could tell he was trying to find out what I was feeing through my eyes. Just as I had early, but he knew that I was harder to read. I in took my breath and closed my eyes, I felt his face getting closer; his warm breath swam around my cheeks.

Our lips connected; Sparrow deepened this kiss, getting more than I expected. I didn’t want the sensation to end, but as always another good thing did. Sparrow looked different than I had ever seen him before. But it was a good expression painted across his face; a content one. I laid my head back on his torso letting the feeling set in. It was the biggest step you could have ever taken from being terrified, to so blissful. And I enjoyed it all, no matter what my friends thought, I could feel.


how'd you like? i also want know how you guys like the Raven/Sparrow relationship. haven't gotten any "i don't like" or anything like that so just wanna know. :shrug:

That was a great chapter. I enjoyed how Barelei 'likes' Raven, and how Sparrow got defensive. I also like when Raven argued with herself about how to act with Sparrow. That was a really nice scene.

The whole thing about how they got out seems too fast for me though. I think it should have been drawn out longer, like you explode the moments. But I would love to see Barelei manipulate Raven into liking him or something funny like that.

Anyway, can't wait for more from you!

Chapter 13


As told by Beast Boy…



I had been sleeping peacefully when I was awoken quite suddenly.

“T-Terra?” I mumbled sleepily. “What are you doing ‘ere?” Terra looked at me and sighed.

“We really need to talk and this time, don’t go running out on me like that Beast Boy, it scared me. Did I do something wrong?”

“N-no, it’s not you. It’s…”

“Oh BB don’t say that it’s you! You don’t know how many times I’ve heard that before. And, and I don’t want to lose you.” Terra’s eyes were filled with tears. I couldn’t bring myself to look at them. What did she mean lose me? I scared her… I didn’t mean to scare her.

I sat there with a bunch of questions and explanations running through my head. I decided to ask my questions first and then explain what’s really going on in my head.

“Uh Terra I’m not gonna leave you, ever. But what exactly do you mean by leave?” Terra’s eyes stared into my own with profound sadness.

“Beast Boy, you are the only one in my life that has ever cared for me, more than just a friend. I don’t want that to leave me, that feeling it’s so wonderful, and I know you’ve felt it too.” I looked down and started twisting my sheets thoughtfully.

“Uh that’s what we need to talk about. Terra I know that at one point I did feel that way, but after you left I got all mixed up and didn’t know how to… love anymore. Then I realized something that had been here all the time, I tried to ignore it and when you came that was easy. It’s been there all along and I’ve just now choose to see it. Truth is that I really, have feelings for… Raven.” I whispered ‘Raven’ so quietly that I didn’t know if Terra had heard me.

I knew that she had when she burst into tears and fled from my room. I felt like crying myself, this whole thing was a mess. What was I doing liking Raven? I know as well as all the others know that we don’t belong together. We’re total opposites; hot and cold, dark and light.

But can I really control my feelings? Well maybe some of them but not this one. Whether it was lust, desire, or something else I knew it couldn’t be fought. I sat in my bed still dumbfounded and not thinking straight. Finally, I found the strength and will to get up and get a shower.



As told by Terra…



I couldn’t’ believe it, I just couldn’t. The only person that I thought I had something special with liked another girl. And not just any girl, the girl I hate above all others. Now I had a basis to hate Raven. Well did I really? BB said that the feeling had been there awhile and… it doesn’t matter. I don’t care. All I know it that it feels like my heart has been ripped out. There’s no motive for me to stay here anymore, without Beast Boy.

I let my tears fall on to the carpet of my room. Kneeling beside my bed I see the tears make two dark spots in the flooring. I hug myself and try to find a thing of comfort. When none appears I hold myself even tighter. There was a knock on my door. I quickly dry my face with my sleeve and wipe my eyes. I don’t want anyone knowing that I was upset.

“Hey, what’s up?” Sparrow asked me. I hadn’t talked to Sparrow in so long; it was just the comfort I’d been looking for. I latched on to his arm and pulled him into my dimly lit room. The curtains were closed and I hadn’t bothered to turn on any lights, it was as if my room too was mourning. Sparrow looked very confused at my behavior, so I sat him down and told him everything.

“Sparrow, Beast Boy dumped me.” I said quietly. He gave me an astounded look.

“W-Why?” He stammered in shock.

“Raven.” I said with a hit of bitterness in my voice.

“He likes… Raven? Oh no not another thing to worry about! Ugh stupid love triangles.” Sparrow now looked disgruntled but he still told me to continue my story. He gave me a friendly hug after a long silence that no words could fill. I felt a lot better; maybe there was a reason besides Beast Boy for me to be here.

We talked about random things after that; just trying to keep away from the subject of BB and his dumping me. And I had no objections; it was very likely that I would be spending the day in my room so I should enjoy what little consolation I was getting. No one else seemed to know that there was a big dispute going on between the four of us.

I needed some food, and I could smell breakfast even though my room is so far away from the kitchen.

“Hey that smells really good. I wonder what’s for breakfast and who cooked.”

“Why don’t you come down with me and find out for yourself?” Sparrow asked me.

“Um well I don’t know if Raven would…”

“I have a feeling she’s ok now. Come on before Cyborg scarves it all down.” I smile at Sparrow; yes he’ll be a good friend to me, no matter what happens.

Sparrow was right, for the most part. Raven acted like I wasn’t even there, which was better than other things she could have done. I helped myself to eggs and ham, which was what I smelled earlier. Turns out that Cyborg had cooked so, naturally, the food was great. To my fortune Raven left the table as I sat down so we didn’t have to be together for long.



As told by Raven…



Good thing I finished breakfast before Terra sat down, my powers probably wouldn’t be able to take the strain, even though it has been three days. I decided to go meditate but got so caught up in thinking that I just started wandering the halls of the tower, not really going anywhere. The result was that I ended up somewhere near the garage.

I heard a voice call put my name from the semi-darkness.

“Rae? What are you doing down here?” It was Cyborg.

“Uh actually I’m not sure. I just started walking around and this is where I ended up.” I explained.

“Hum. You wanna help me add some upgrades to the T-car?”

“Uh, sure why not? Do you ever not have upgrades to add to that car?” I joked slightly. Cyborg gave chuckle. But I had more to talk about with him than just fixing up the T-car.

While Cyborg was getting the upgrade software I opened the hood of the T-car. One would think that with all the wires and gadgets under the hood, I’d be lost but I knew exactly what each of those things was. Cyborg had a way with explaining things, especially things he new so much about.

“Ok Rae all we gotta do-” I cut him off.

“Actually I have some things that I want to talk to you about.”

“Shoot, I’m all ears.” Cy said putting down the software and turning to me. I started to fidget, maybe trying to tell Cyborg what was going on wasn’t a good idea, but then Cy had always been like an older brother to me. I felt I could tell him anything.

Cyborg was waiting patiently for me to start talking.

“Well I’m kinda having a little problem here. You see Beast Boy wanted to talk to me after I fought with Terra and we went to the roof. While we were up there he did the strangest thing. He…” I stopped suddenly, having remembered my promise to BB that I wouldn’t tell anyone what had happened.

“Go on.” Cy said slowly.

“He tried to, hold my hand.” I mumbled. Cyborg however heard me clearly. He stared at me for a few moments and then sighed.

“It was only a matter of time.” He said rubbing the back of his head in thought.

“What do you mean, a matter of time?” I asked curiously.

“‘Til BB gave up on trying to hide it.”

“Trying to hide… n-no you can’t be serous.”

“Rae you won’t admit it to yourself but you are pretty.”

“But that’s not the-”

“I know that’s not the point but I’m just saying. I know why you’d get so stressed out over this cause BB liking you is something that is hard for you to handle. ‘Specially cause Sparrow…” Cy trailed off. I felt a slight heat up in my cheeks. Cy was smart enough to realize that our relationship had grown.

“So you-” I started. Cy cut me off, we had been doing a lot of that in our conversation.

“Yeah I can tell even though you guys aren’t offering any info. I dunno how but I can just tell. You know how like if you did something wrong your parents, uh parent for you, would always know?” I mumbled which ment yes. “Same thing here.” He concluded. I then realized that talking to Cyborg was a lot easier than I expected. Maybe I should confide in him more often.



Ok this is only part 1 of chapter 13 so expect more soon. I know what I’m gonna do next just not so sure how I should write it.

That was great. The BB and Terra thing was brilliantly put, and I like how Raven confided in Cy (Doesn't everybody do that in their fics?). Terra's reaction was fantastically put, and I enjoyed the chapter overall.

But now there is a love square, which I don't think I've ever really heard of before. It's amazing how popular Raven is, no? :D I have my predictions about what's going to happen, buit I won't say anything..... :evil:

Overall, a few typos, but they didn't take away from the chapter as a whole. Awesome job!

Chapter 13 pt 2


WHAM! There I go slamming into the ground again. Slade took the chip out of my brain and was beating me so mercilessly I felt that sooner or later I was going to die. I could only see out of one eye, as the other was bruised and swollen. I got back up and faced Slade once more; I refused to lie at his feet. I did not beg with him to stop hurting me.

“You are my son; you’re supposed to obey me. You forced me to put you under my control, and now you’ve forced me to do this. All of this.” Slade mocked me in a dangerous voice.

“I haven’t forced you to do ANYTHING!” I said in a strong clear voice, despite the fact that I was in so much pain.

“No... You just deserve all of this, so I’m giving it to you.” Slade whispered pacing around me. He got closer to me and round-house kicked me in the stomach. I fell to the floor yet again and couldn’t breathe for several seconds. Once I regained my breathing I stood up once more. My uniform was torn and one sleeve was about to fall off my arm, while one of the knees in it was completely torn out. I suppose I looked a mess.

Just as I stand up again Slade knocks me down and puts a foot on my chest.

“I admire you’re ‘I’m not gonna give up’ outlook on life but you’re not using it properly. I will give you one more chance, serve me and I will make you greater than you’ve ever been.” Slade said putting slight pressure on my upper body. I closed my eyes, not knowing what to say. If I refused Slade would kill me, if I accepted, well there goes all my work at trying to get rid of him. I opened my eyes to see Slade holding a dagger in his right hand. And it was just waiting to taste my blood.



As told by Sparrow…



I felt weird. I didn’t know if Raven’s leaving just as Terra entered the room was a good thing or not. I did feel good about the fact that all the other titans treated Terra normally. I didn’t know what I should’ve done at that point. I was kinda torn between Terra, my friend and Raven, my girlfriend…? I hadn’t really thought about it like that but yeah I guess that would be right.

Whether or not Raven knew I was friends with Terra I didn’t know but I was pretty sure that Raven wouldn’t look much into it. I sat across from Terra and had some eggs. I wasn’t all that hungry. Robin walked into the kitchen just as I was finishing.

“Hey guys I think that we’re gonna have to set up some training time, we can’t get soft now. Who know what Slade will plan next?” Robin declared. The question seemed rhetorical so Terra and I just nodded our heads.

I was also thinking about Barelei. What would Slade do to him? What would he do to us next? As I stared down at my empty plate I remembered the other night when Raven had a dream/vision. I needed to ask her about it. I quickly put my plate and silverware in the sink and headed upstairs to find Raven.

Twenty minutes later I finally came to my senses and looked for Raven on the roof. After I didn’t find her in her room I wandered about the tower hoping to run into her. But she wasn’t up there either. I was puzzled. Where else would she be? I went down the garage to ask Cyborg if he’d seen Raven and there I found her.

“Hey Raven what’s up?” I asked eagerly. I really wanted to talk to her alone and I thought Cy could tell as he said:

“Raven and I were just finishing up adding some upgrades to the T-car. You can go ahead Rae, I’ll clean up.” Raven nodded and followed me up to my still bland room. I really had no need for decorations.

“Raven I know this isn’t like me but I’ve been wondering about your dream vision thing. It’s been making me feel a little uneasy.”

“So you want to know what it was about.” Raven said. I nodded mutely even though it wasn’t really a question. “In a word… Trigon. He came out of the book and tried to control me and for a period of time he did. But that time was long enough for him to make me kill all of you guys, all of the titans.” Raven’s normally clam voice had wavered a bit while she was telling me about this nightmare/vision. I didn’t know what to do.

The truth about her dream should have been obvious to me from the beginning because I knew that Trigon was the only thing that could scare Raven. Well apart form that time BB told me about how she freaked out during a horror movie but wouldn’t admit it. I felt like an idiot just standing there not saying anything. But Raven didn’t seem to mind, she appeared glad to have finally told someone what was bothering her.

“Raven I’m sorry I didn’t know.” I said gently. Raven sighed.

“That’s ok, better you know than for me to keep it all to myself.”

“Suppose so.” I said sitting down on the bed. Raven eyed me for a few minuets and heaved a sigh again. She sat down next to me and pushed her hair out of her eyes.

“Raven do you mind if I’m friends with Terra?” I asked out of nowhere.

“Not really why?” She asked dryly.

“Cause I know that you don’t like her much and I thought that you wouldn’t like it if I-” Raven held up a hand so I fell silent.

“I can’t control you Sparrow, that’s a mistake a lot of girls make. They think that their love will change the boy they’re with. You can have a life besides me; I want you to have a life aside from me. Sure I don’t like Terra, but that doesn’t mean you have to not like her.” Raven reasoned. I looked at Raven thoughtfully, she was right. I am who I am and she shouldn’t try or change that. I needed to be myself no matter how much I love Raven.

Yes I know I'm evil for not telling you what happens to Barelei, but you will find out shortly.

Once again, that was cool. The slightly non-existent father/son relationship between Barelei and Slade and the slightly sadistic Raven/Sparrow/BB/Terra love quadrangle were once again probed in interesting ways, and I'm feeling that Raven's vision will help to give a little more structure to the upcoming story. I only hope that you can keep this up!:D

Basically, what he said. This is nice romantic stuff. I like it a lot. This love pentagonish thing (BB/Sparrow/Barelei/Raven/Terra) you've created makes me grin whenever I think about it. :anime: The Barelei and Slade thing was nicely done, portrayed greatly. I sort of feel sorry for Barelei, but I'd bet you'll make sure we don't feel that way for long....

The vision was a nice touch, and I bet it'll be important later. I can't wait for more of this stuff! It's really good!! Great!

CHAPTER 14


As told by Barelei…



The dagger in Slade’s hands didn’t scare me for a second. Slade doesn’t know the truth about me which is: I am not afraid to die. This simple truth could, and probably would, ruin his chances of getting me back as his apprentice. Again I shut my eyes but this time it was to gather enough courage to get Slade off me.

But I didn't.

“You know Slade; this would be a good threat to any normal man, or someone who hasn’t suffered the way I have. But I’m not one of those people so I’m going to tell you this: kill me for all I care because I will NEVER serve you again!” Then I threw Slade’s foot of off my chest and rolled out from underneath the dagger that he tried to shove down on me as he fell. I couldn't use my powers so I had to fight him hand to hand.

“So be it.” Slade said in his most dangerous voice ever. He dived at me trying to slash me across the chest. But each time I backed away. Now I know that backing up is not the best thing to do when you’re faced with a knife but I had a plan. As soon as I was enough to the wall I jumped and flipped over Slade. I kicked his back and he hit the wall head on; now that really got him mad. He gave a grunt and ran at me. This was precisely what I wanted.

I jumped up again just as Slade was nearing me. By the time he gets to where I was he was under me. I landed on Slade shoulders briefly and used our combined height to jump into the rafters of the warehouse.

“Run, run all you like but no matter where you run I’ll find you. We’re not playing hide and seek Barelei come out and play…” Ok right then I could have gone down as the biggest coward in the world not wanting to face my old man but when your dad wants to kill you, that’s a different story.

I crept through the rafters trying to reach the window on the opposite side of the warehouse and sneak out. But Slade didn’t have to see me to know where I was. Even though I was almost as quiet as a shadow he could still hear me. I cursed his cat-like ears. Slade grabbed a flashlight off a table and shone it up to me. A lot of good that did him, even if he could see me he couldn’t do anything to me until he got up to where I was. But perhaps this was his plan.

“Ah crud.” I whispered as he leapt into the beams too.

“Ah yes…” Slade said in triumph. I closed my eyes and tried to use every ounce of strength that I had to teleport myself out of there. Stupid idea. As I closed my eyes tightly Slade snuck closer to me. And then blinding pain the likes of which I had never experienced before. Warm blood poured down my chest from a gaping wound that Slade had made while I had my eyes closed.

I fought with myself to stay conscious. I needed to find help soon. With what little strength I had left I knocked Slade off the rafters and down on to the concrete floor below.



As told by Starfire…



I have been able to get Raven to agree with me to do the walking around the area known as a park.

“So any reason you wanted to come here?” Raven asked me.

“I find your company enjoyable but please do I need a reason to do the hanging out with my friend?” Raven shakes her head which I understand means no. My eyes grew very wide as I saw a round water-filled tub with dancing water. “Oh Raven is this the fountain?” I asked
. Robin once explained to me what it was and I have always liked this fountain since.

“Yeah…. Here Star make a wish.” Raven said and handed me a coin. I watched as my friend tossed the coin into the tub and closed her eyes. I did the same.

“Friend Raven for what did you wish?” I asked my eyes bright.

“If I told you that Star, then it wouldn’t come true.”

“Oh so this is like the ritual of wishing on a shooting star?”

“Well here it’s not a ritual but yeah I guess.”

“On Tamerian we see many shooting stars.” I explained. We watched the water falling down into the tub for awhile but then moved on continuing our walk around this park.



As told by Barelei…



I climbed through the small window and out on to the roof of Slade’s lair. How I managed to make it even there I’m not sure. I had wrapped my chest so tightly in my cloak that it hurt, in an attempt to save my blood. If hadn’t I probably would already had serious blood loss. Got… to find help. I thought. But who would help me? Who could help me in this condition? One person, and only one could and it was very lucky that I thought of her… Raven.

Raven had the healing powers that could save my life, but the question was: would she be willing to help me? I mean she’s on Sparrow’s side and all; what if she just stood there and watched me die? No, Raven’s not like that. I told myself. Something told me to go look at the park. With determination I jumped off the roof and landed perfectly harmless on the ground below. I quickly hid my face in the cloak around my middle and limped off to the park.



As told by Raven…



Something isn’t right. It feels like someone’s trying to find me and I don’t like it.

“Star look.” I said pointing to a dark figure in the trees. Star looked over to where I was pointing.

“Who is that? Do they mean us harm?” I stared at the figure. The way that it was limping ever closer towards us I’d say that the person was hurt.

“C’mon that person’s hurt, I can tell.” I said motioning for Star to follow me closer to the person. She did so but slowly. I recognized the person even though they had a hood over their face.

“Barelei w-what happened?” I asked shocked. He removed the cloak from his head and midsection to reveal a nasty gaping wound on his chest. I heard Starfire gasp. Barelei fell to the ground almost losing consciousness. He managed to choke out something before fainting.

“Sl…Sl…” and then his head dropped.

“Slade.” I finished his sentence for him. Then my hands started to glow a purplish blue instead of my usual black surrounded by white. I held my hands up to the gash and it began to mend before my and Starfire’s eyes.

“Starfire I need to call Sparrow. Stay here with Barelei and try to wake him up.”

“Please, why should I not let him sleep?”

“Because Star if you do he might be dying and we would not know. If you don’t want to wake him up try to find his heart beat or pulse.” She nodded and let me call the tower.

“Raven where are you and Starfire?” a worried Robin asked me the second he picked up.

“We’re fine but we could say less for Barelei.”

“Barelei what’s he got anything to do with this?”

“Slade apparently tried to kill him. A big knife cut across his chest. If I hadn’t saved him he would have died from blood loss. I’m surprised that he managed to make it to the park from downtown Jump. But in truth I’m not sure if he’s still alive, Star’s checking right now. Can I talk to Sparrow?”

“Uh yeah hold on…” Robin said and he looked shocked as his face left the communicator screen; a rustling and Sparrow’s face to the place of Robin’s.

“Before you start bombarding me with questions, I’d like you to see this.” I told Sparrow. He looked confused but not for long as I passed the comm. over Barelei.

“What happened?”

“Slade happened.”

“H-he did this to Barelei?” Sparrow said in as much shock as I was in when I first saw Barelei. I nodded wordlessly.

“R-Raven.” Starfire interrupted. I turned to see her. Her normally bright eyes were dark and her face very pale. “He is not breathing.”

“Save him Raven, nobody deserves to die like that.” Sparrow whispered to me. The firmness in Sparrow’s voice surprised me. But I understood what he ment. When you looked between the lines, Barelei wasn’t such a bad guy after all.

I shut the communicator and looked at the ground. Sure enough Barelei wasn’t breathing. I didn’t know why but part of me wanted to cry. I bent quickly and tried his pulse. It was there but barely. I moved closer to Barelei’s head and did the only thing that could save him….

CHAPTER 15


As told by Barelei…



A falling feeling and then… darkness. Never ceasing, swirling darkness, then my life flashing before my eyes. It wasn’t too pretty. A light. The light that people tell you not to go towards when you see it. I’m dieing…I realize. But then why was my brain still working?

Wait, what I could breathe again? No it wasn’t me breathing, someone else was breathing into me. I felt dizzy. I tied to gulp air through my mouth, but something stopped it. So I took a deep breath through my nose. It was like being born again.

I opened my eyes. Nothing was in focus, everything swirling again, but this time it was what I was seeing, not feeling. A dark shape was near me, over me more like. It was… Raven? Had she been the one who’d saved my life?

“R-Raven?” I said still disoriented. I tried to sit up, but fell back down in my pain.

“Careful, I didn’t manage to heal your chest all the way through; it will still hurt for a while.”

“You saved my life. And I…”

“No you’re not a bad person. I looked between the lines; you helped me in more ways than one during this time. Would you have done that if you were truly evil?”

“Love does things to people, but you’re smart you figured that out already I presume.”

“Yeah I know, now just lie back down, I need to call TitansTower and get you somewhere more comfortable.”

“Raven why are you being so nice to me?” I asked utterly bewildered that it had been Raven who saved my life.

“I’m not the kind of person who would sit here and watch you die, even Sparrow said that you didn’t deserve to die, at least not because of your father. In answer to your question, do you think that it’s really possible for me to say ‘ah well I just saved your life now I’m gonna treat you like scum’? Not exactly the kind of thing any decent person could do.”

“I’m not a decent person Raven, if you knew all the bad things I’ve done…” I said as thought about these things.

“All I know is that you’re nothing like Slade, and if I had to say who you are like I’d say it’d be your mom although I know very little about her.”

“How do you know anything about her?” I asked. This wasn’t a good way for the conversation to turn but I needed to know. I hadn’t told anyone about her, for all I know she could be dead.

Raven sat back down on the grass beside me. She had stood up to call the tower but now that didn’t seem important.

“I lived in Azarath around the same time you did. My family knew her after you left. But I left shortly after you so I didn’t get to know her well.” Now it was hard for me not to cry. I had squeezed my eyes close so tightly that it hurt, in a vain attempt to keep myself from crying. I felt Raven’s hand on my shoulder.

“I know how you feel.” She said. And she could possibly be the only one who does. She let me take the time to gain control of my tears and then we sat for the longest time. But after a while I noticed someone missing.

“Uh Raven what happened to Starfire?” I asked her somewhat concerned. Raven’s eyes snapped open; she had been nodding off for a few minuets. But at the sound of the alien’s name she grabbed her communicator fro the latch on her belt. She contacted Starfire and she quickly picked up.

“Where’d you go Star? …No he’s ok now I helped him…you’re back at Titans Tower? ... Tell Sparrow to get over to Central Park ASAP… As soon as possible. Ok bye.” I sat up quickly, paying for it from the pain in my chest, but I didn’t care.

“Sparrow’s not coming here is he?” I asked grimacing at my chest’s pain. Raven nodded.

“Don’t worry I just need to check with him and Robin to see if it’s ok for you to stay in the tower. I promise nothing bad will happen; Sparrow will keep his cool long enough for you to recover, then you guys can go back to being mortal enemies.”

“No I don’t want to be a bad person anymore. I’ll have to find somewhere else to go, no doubt that if I stayed here Slade would catch up with me. I just can’t do this life of crime when I’m not -like you said- truly evil.”

“Raven.” Sparrow’s voice, full of question, said behind us.

“Sparrow, how’d you get here so fast?” Raven asked sounding ever-so-slightly disappointed. That gave me hope that Raven liked to talk to me. We could become friends… my mind ventured hopefully.

“Robin let me borrow the R cycle. But that doesn’t matter, what matters is that we get you both home.” Raven ran over to Sparrow and gave him a hug. I was happy that he agreed to let me stay too.

“Uh how are we all gonna get home?” I asked noticing that the R cycle only fit two passengers.

“I’ll walk you and Raven are too weak to fly right now.” Sparrow said. It wasn’t an offer it was a fact. He didn’t want us wearing ourselves out anymore than we were already.

It took Raven and me about five minuets to get home, so Raven went back to drive Sparrow the rest of the way. She didn’t tell me to but I knew not to touch anything, but frankly there wasn’t much to mess with in the entrance hall of the tower. Just a few chairs. But most unluckily Robin decided to show up almost right after Raven had left.

“What are you doing here?!” He half demanded half questioned.

“You should probably wait until Raven comes back so she can tell you, because what happened will take some explaining. I was unconscious for a lot of the time so I won’t be much help in the details.”

As if on cue Raven and Sparrow walked through the tower doors. Sparrow looked tired and collapsed into a chair near the doors, but Raven approached Robin and me who were in the middle of the room. She gestured for Robin and me to sit down knowing that Robin wanted us to explain.

“Barelei you’re going to have to tell us both what happened with Slade and then I can take it from after you got to the park.” Raven pointed out. I nodded and began the story.

After the whole story had been retold, Robin looked taken aback.

“So let me get this straight; Slade tried to kill you,” he said pointing to me. “And you saved his life.” He continued pointing to Raven. We nodded.

“And… I was wondering if Barelei could stay with us until he gets his strength back.” Raven said rather quickly as if she was afraid of what Robin would say. Robin had his face in his hands, apparently trying to take all of this in at once. He slowly looked up and then… he nodded. Raven let out her breath and, to my surprise, I did too. I guess I wanted to stay there more than I thought.

“C’mon I know which room you can stay in.” Raven said to me. We left a now asleep Sparrow and Robin who defiantly needed to think. I tried as hard as I could to remember all the turns and such. Up two flights of stairs, straight, come to a fork, go left then right and right again, another fork, go straight, right, left… and that was as far as I got. I gave up, so then I asked Raven how I was supposed to know how to find anything in this giant tower.

“Don’t worry; just stick with me and you won’t get lost.” She replied simply. Finally we reached some bedrooms. I saw Cyborg’s, Beast Boy’s and Robin’s names engraved on their bedroom doors. I had no time to spot anyone else’s as we came to Raven’s room and across from that a room with no name on it.

“Guest bedroom; your room for now.”

“Thanks Raven for everything. You know you don’t have to do this for me. How can someone like you seem to forget everything I’ve done?”

“I can’t forget what happened, but I can forgive you. Forgive and forget doesn’t exactly work here, but you know it would be for the best if I became your… friend.”

“Please don’t hate me for this…” I said right before I pulled Raven into a hug.

I was very grateful when her shock wore off and she began to hug me back.

“Would it make you feel better if I told you that I finally realized that I love you like a brother, not like Sparrow?” She smiled and nodded.

“I get a lot of that, maybe it’s a good thing because I don’t have any siblings.” She joked. I smiled too and then yawned.

“We’d better get some sleep. I’ll see you in the morning.” I bid Raven goodnight and climbed into bed.

Now... tell me what you thought. Oh and the fic might be coming to a close soon, BUT I'm doing a third Raven/Sparrow fic. Good news is that inbetween this and the third fic I will be trying out a different kind of story. When this is over I'll post the prologue and see what cha all think. Again don't flame me! I'm scared to find out what you thought about how I changed this. :sweat:

I totally agree with the others, on the chapter (which was sweet) and the third fic (which sounds awesome).

Honestly, I had one problem with the chapter (but it's minor). You sort of killed the love triangle, which was one of the best components of the story. I would have loved to see their emotions toyed with for a little longer, like something happens betweeen Barelei and Raven, causing them to like the other a little more. But that's just me.

I'm glad you're back. :anime: :D :) It's been awhile.

For awhile I'm going to focus on characters other than Raven, Sparrow and Barelei to change things around. CHAPTER 16



As told by Robin…



Things haven’t been much different since Barelei got here two days ago. I really want him out by tomorrow, but since he’s not causing trouble and Raven said it would be a week until he would be fully healed, I don’t have anything to say that could convince my friends that he should leave. Well, besides the usual ‘there’s no way we can be sure he’s on our side’ stuff that doesn’t work or help anything.

Now that he knew his way around Barelei would stay in his room reading, which was really the room Raven stored her already-read books in. That’s why I can’t really accuse him of doing anything wrong; he was usually in his room. Yeah, he always came out for meals, sometimes training, and the occasional battle on the GameStation but other than that we didn’t see him much.

Of course Star for one is happy to have some more company, but everyone else except her and Raven, seem uncomfortable. I mean wasn’t he the person who kidnapped Raven twice and almost killed Sparrow? And speaking of Sparrow he hadn’t been around. Didn’t come to meals or anything it was he vanished into thin air after realizing that he could do nothing about Barelei staying here.

Only, wasn’t he one of the people that had said he could stay? I have no idea what’s going on in the team. Nothing makes sense anymore and nothing feels right. Plus I knew that someone could tell me what I wanted to know, but no one did. Terra avoiding Beast Boy was the biggest thing that I saw that was wrong. I didn’t want to get into it as it probably concerned something that was none of my business.

Cyborg was usually quiet. No breakfast fights and I haven’t heard a ‘boo-ya’ from him in a while. Was my team falling apart? I couldn’t bear to think that. But still it seems like the only possibility until I figure out what’s going on…



As told by Beast Boy…



I sat in my room not doing anything. I was bored and lonely for some reason. I have all my best friends in the tower, how the heck could I be alone? That was how I used to feel about Raven. How could she feel alone and not understood when she had so many friends? Well now I knew. I stood up off the floor and walked out my bed room door. I had my destination in mind. It was a place where I could go to forget life itself. I went to the tower roof.

The door creaked open onto a paved rooftop and the sprawling heavens above me. The night sky was dotted with thousands upon thousands of stars. Most people wouldn’t think of me as a star gazer but then no one knew how alone I felt right then.

I flopped down on my back to stare off into space. It was so pretty up here. I felt like I could just leave the face of the earth and my problems behind. A voice near me made me jump.

“Hey Beast Boy.” It was soft and unsure, one I would never forget.

“Oh… hey Terra. Look I’m really-”

“No it’s my turn to talk.” She said cutting me off. “I need to get this off my chest so can you just let me talk? If that’s not too hard for you.” I forced a smile at that.

“First off, I think we need to tell the others what going on between us. Or rather what’s not. Robin has definitely noticed us acting weird and I think he’s getting worried. Second, no matter what anyone says or does, I’ll always care about you BB. So can we do each other a favor and not avoid our feelings? I would be really grateful if you would still be my friend. This isn’t about anyone else but you and me. We have to do this Beast Boy, we have to talk, I did so now it’s your turn.” Terra finished.

I couldn’t say anything instantaneously. Right now I felt really stupid. Nonetheless I had to say something and I did, trying to make Terra feel the way I did now: warm and like there was no weight to be carried on her shoulders.

“I agree that we need to tell the others. Raven and Sparrow already know but no one else does. I know that you do and always will care about me, but just because I don’t like you the way you like me doesn’t mean I hate you. You’re the best friend I’ve ever had.”

Those words stuck on Terra. I knew. That was the last thing she had said to me before she was turned to stone. She knew, remembered, and looked so much happier when I said that.

“Beast Boy you don’t know how much this means to me. I’m so happy things can go back to almost normal.” Terra hugged me tightly wouldn’t let go. I didn’t encourage her to though. And when she finally did, I felt like I had done a really good thing.

The semimetal moment didn’t last long though. Right after Terra let me go there was the blaring sound of the Titan alarm that scared us both out of our skins. We looked at each other quickly and I morphed in to a falcon and she grabbed a rock. We flew into the living room through an open window to hear the news. To my surprise Barelei was there to see what was going on and to, supposedly, help.

“Can you guess who it is?” Robin asked testily.

“Where… is… he?” Barelei said in a slightly frightening tone. His hands were balled into fists and if looks could kill we’d all be dead where we stood. I had never seen anyone so angry.

“Pier 41.” Robin replied. Barelei started to storm out the door when Raven put her hand on his shoulder.

“That place is dangerous. It’s in ruins and if you stay mad while you’re fighting it will only give Slade the upper hand. Anger wears you out quicker.” She told him. We all knew this from experience especially because what happened to Robin after Slade ‘died’. But Raven’s words of wisdom made Barelei’s rugged breathing slow and he unclenched his fists.

“Rae’s right now let’s go.” Cyborg said focusing on the task at hand. We all nodded and flew or ran out the door. The night was especially dark for some cause. It hadn’t seemed nearly as dark when I was talking to Terra on the roof. I flew, as a raven, ahead of the others. When I was close to the piers I slowed down morphed back to normal, and waited for the others.

Once everybody was there Robin was quick to order.

“Cyborg check the area for traps, Starfire and Raven go in from above and try to find out anything that might help us, Beast Boy you do the same from the ground, Sparrow and Barelei you’re coming with me.” We were all silent. Then I broke the quiet to say what everyone was thinking.

“Sparrow’s not here, hasn’t been since he sowed up.” I reminded Robin pointing to Barelei to make my, well, point.

“Since when have I not been here for you guys?” a voice said.

Sparrow was there, flying about 50 feet from the ground on his rarely used *flying motor scooter. We all opened our mouths to speak but he didn’t give us a chance to.

“Not now we have things to do.” Everyone but Robin, Barelei and Sparrow darted off me among them.

I made my way to the correct pier, turning into a mouse before stepping on the wooden planks leading to its entrance. This was something I normally did when we were dealing with Slade. This way, he was less likely to notice me and I was faster and more agile if he did. I squeezed through a small hole and almost turned tail and ran away from what I saw inside the warehouse…

Yes I'm back and with a cliffhanger. I hope that'll give you some more info on what's going on outside the main characters (Raven, Sparrow, and Barelei) but there's more to come. Next chapter will contain action, as most of that chapter was all talking and describing.

*- If anyone remembers, Sparrow used the scooter in the first fic when he and Raven went to the beach.

Chapter 17



As told by Robin…



I wasted no time beating around the bush.

“Where have you been?”

“Let’s just say: around. I’ll tell all of you specifically where later, right now we have bigger problems.” Sparrow replied. Well thanks for all the help. Either way, he was right; we had to take care of Slade. We all nodded at each other and ran into the pier. We were unprepared for what we saw.

It had been a matter of minuets, minuets since Raven, Starfire, Beast Boy and Terra had left us. And yet Slade had them all except Beast boy captured. No matter how hard the girls fought, they couldn’t break free of the binding that they were in.

But the scariest thing was that it wasn’t just Slade in that warehouse type place. It was practically every villain we had ever faced. There was Mumbo, Cinderblock, Gizmo, Jinx, Mammoth, Brother Blood, Overload, Plasmus, and so many others that we were horribly outnumbered. This time it was going to be hard to tell what was left of my team that we had to keep fighting no matter what.

“Sparrow,” I whispered to my right where Sparrow was standing.

“Yeah?” He whispered right back.

“Can you take control of every humanlike mind in this building so we don’t have to worry about them?”

“Probably but it will take a lot of strength. I might not be able to do it for very long.” Sparrow replied sounding a little frightened, but we all were.

“Just try for as long as you can, the ones that aren’t humanlike will be easy to take down. Cinderblock, Plamas, we’ve taken them before. Start on go.” I told him. Sparrow nodded and I briefly explained our plan to Barelei while Slade watched us. He had no idea what we were doing, but I wondered why he didn’t have all those villains attack us as we talked.

“GO!” I yelled and as I did the criminals ran toward us, only for some of them to be stopped in their tracks.

Slade gave me a death glare as he looked at the motionless villains. This was great; we had stopped all the H.I.V.E. people, Mumbo, Adonis, Dr. Light, Mad Mod, and plenty others. This might be easier than we thought.

“What have you done?” Slade asked menacingly, jumping in the throng and speaking directly to me. At the time I was busy with Overload. I tried to ignore him; tried to just focus on beating Overload.

“Back down.” Slade ordered the electrical criminal. Overload moved back behind Slade and Slade approached me.

“Why? Don’t you already know what’s happened?” I asked. Slade’s visible eye narrowed. My mouth was gonna get me into trouble now…

Controlling all these minds wasn’t as difficult as I thought it would be. As long as I made them stay still, I could keep this up for a fairly long time. But there was also the problem that when I was keeping some of the people from fighting, Robin and Barelei were doing all the work. I felt like I should be doing more.

For some strange reason, none of the villains that were out of my control where attacking me. Perhaps they just didn’t see me. I decided to look for Beast Boy. I was pretty sure he was in here, but where would be almost impossible to figure out. BB was probably a mouse or something small. Just as I was turning around to start my search Beast Boy tapped me on the shoulder.

At first I didn’t know it was him, so I grabbed his hand and prepared to throw him. But then I heard,

“Dude, Sparrow put me down!”

“Sorry… look I can’t really talk I need to concentrate. Help Robin and Barelei.” Beast Boy realized that I was the one who had made most of the accomplices stop moving and nodded. Now that he understood we had one more person helping us.

My eyes moved over to where Barelei was fighting. He had already taken down a *giant moth man, and was now battling Plasmus. But there were still many foes to bring down; it looked like we might have a chance though.



* Just to be technical, Sparrow doesn’t know who many of these people are, so yeah… Man I thought this was longer! Darn, sorry for the short chapter guys. :sweat:

Thanks everyone. Sorry 'bout all the mistakes Crow, I've kinda been doing the post and run thing, which is bad. I'll remember to post when I have time to check the mistakes beforehand. ;) Oooo death threats? Well if you look I've got many of them before so they don't scare me (much).

I'll probably just post the next part as an add-on to chapter 17. But there's a very good chance that the add-on will be all you get until after my Spring Break, which starts this Friday. The reason being is that I'm going to California durning break and I probably won't have access to a computer. With all the other stuff I'm doing, I wouldn't get any writing done even if I had a computer.

CHAPTER 17 pt 2

As told by Barelei…


“What the heck kills you ya big zit?” I yelled in frustration. This… thing won’t die and I have no idea what to do. I threw the purplish red ooze monster against the wall. It just peeled itself off the wall and hurled ooze at me.

“Need a hand?” asked Beast Boy from a few feet behind me.

“Yeah, considering that I don’t know how to kill this thing!!” I raged.

“Chill out dude it’s not that-” Beast Boy was stopped in mid-sentence by the monster throwing ooze at his head.

“Less talk, more action.” I said.

The hawk that was BB nodded and transformed into a T-rex. Beast Boy hit the monster with his tail and it went flying into another villain who seemed to be electrical. This finished off both of them. It also brought our attention to Robin who was in big trouble with Slade. I don’t know what he said but it must’ve ticked Slade off pretty bad.

I shot a red curse wave at Slade’s head. He didn’t see it coming so it hit him directly.

“You’re going to regret that.” He whispered treacherously. Slade shoved Robin and Beast Boy out of the way to get at me. This wasn’t too good for Robin as he was already weak from fighting Slade, but Beast Boy caught him before he hit the ground.

“What hurts the most Barelei? That no matter how hard you try, I always beat you? Or perhaps that I nearly killed you and you had to go running to this little birdie to save you?” Slade asked leaning against the back of the chair that a limp Raven sat in.

Don’t let him get to you. Just stay calm. Like Raven said, anger only gives him the upper hand. I thought.

“Shut up.” I mumbled.

“What did you tell me to do?” Slade asked standing up straight again.

“Shut UP!” I yelled, and blasted Slade with as many curses and objects that I could. Chairs and all kinds of rubble joined the red light that was shooting from my hands. After about a minuet of hurling countless curses and debris I lowered my arms and breathed deeply.

Beast Boy, Robin, and I stood silent for a few seconds wondering what to do next. Two exploding disks flew out of the dust where Slade had gotten pummeled. One landed at my feet and the other between BB and Robin.

“Look out!” Both Robin and I shouted. We all split up and were missed by the explosions by inches.

I had run in Sparrow’s direction and noticed that he was kneeling on the ground grimacing in what I guessed to be pain.

“Uh guys, I think we’d better get out of here.” I told BB and Robin.

“Why?” Robin questioned.

“Well Slade’s gone so that takes care of him for now,” I said nodding to the area where tons of wreckage lay. “And Sparrow won’t be able to keep these guys still for much longer.”

“Right, c’mon let’s try and get the girls free.” Robin commanded. Beast Boy and I nodded and ran over to Raven, Starfire, and Terra. Meanwhile Robin talked to Sparrow.

“Can you keep this up for a little while longer?” I heard him ask Sparrow. Now that Slade was gone and all the villains that needed to be had been defeated, it was deadly quiet in the warehouse.

“I… think so.” Sparrow grunted.

“We’ll go as fast as we can.” Robin assured him. Then he ran over to help us. I was about to get Terra free and Beast Boy was working on Raven. That left Robin to help Starfire. Once I was done I ran over to assist Robin. Finally after fifteen minuets, everyone was free.

The girls were unconscious so that ment we had to carry them to the tower. A difficult task, but we have to get out of here before Sparrow loses control. Each of us carried the girl that we untied. Sparrow followed us just barley keeping control long enough for us to get out. After about fifty feet however, he fainted. We decided that we should rest until Sparrow or one of the girls woke up. As we were sitting Robin brought up another problem.

“Uh guys, what happened to Cyborg?”

CHAPTER 18


As told by Cyborg…


“Ugh, what happened?” I groaned rubbing the back of my head. The last thing I remember is scanning the pier for security devices. Then, nothing… no, wait a bright light and a lot of pain. I looked at the area surrounding me. Well it was wasted effort as it was too dark for me to see anything without turning on my light first. I heard a door open at the end of the room I was in, and footsteps in my direction.

The room was suddenly illuminated and I was able to see who my captor was.

“Blood.” I hissed loathing in my voice.

“Yes Cyborg, hello. Did you really think that we wouldn’t meet again?”

“You’ll be sorry that we did.” Behind my back I changed my arm into my Sonic Cannon and powered it up. The next time that self-confident, perfect-haired, moron started talking he would be getting a taste of my cannon.

I never got the chance to shoot Blood. It hadn’t been that long, but somehow the Titans had been able to find me. Or should I say, Robin and Barelei. Barelei took on Blood; he was more than a match for him. This left Robin to help me and explain things.

“Ok, what the heck is going on? How’d you guys find me so fast? Where’s everyone else? How long have I been here?”

“We’ll explain that later, Barelei used his powers, knocked out why will come with the explaining, probably two hours.” Robin answered as helped me up. We both turned to the fight between Blood and Barelei. Red flashes of light came from both fighters changing the glow in the room from white light to red light.

Blood was bent over breathing deeply. He was already worn out and it didn’t look like Barelei showed any signs of giving in. Blood then did the only thing he could do, he tried to control Barelei’s mind. Blood’s eyes turned red and he smiled an evil looking smile as Barelei’s did too. But what he didn’t know was that Barelei’s eyes did that often in battle.

Barelei chuckled.

“Nice try Blood, but there’s no way you could control me.” He said with a smirk. His trick had worked. Blood’s smile turned into a terrified look as his attacker’s hands glowed a menacing shade of red. The curses hit Brother Blood’s head, which caused him to fall into a deep faint. Barelei stared at the ground, smirk still lingering.

“We need to get back to the girls and Sparrow.” Robin said quickly. I nodded and followed a silent Barelei back to the piers. I had been imprisoned in a small warehouse much like the one that Slade had attacked from. Barelei led the way to where the others lay. Raven, Sparrow, Starfire and Terra were out cold. They didn’t show any indications of waking up either.

“Where’s Beast Boy?” I asked noting that the changeling wasn’t there.

“Oh sorry, I didn’t know you guys would be back so soon.” Beast Boy’s voice said from behind us. He was climbing up the side of the rocky slope that led to the water. He held four pieces of damp cloth. He approached us went over to where Terra, Starfire, Sparrow, and Raven were. He placed the cloth on each of there foreheads, before straitening up and asking,

“What happened?”



As told by Robin…



I basically ignored all Beast Boy’s and Cyborg’s questions until we had made it back to the tower. After we had our unconscious friends settled I decided it was time that I answer all of their inquiries. I couldn’t avoid them forever. We all settled in the living room. It took forever to explain everything that happened while Cyborg was captive, and then we had to tell Beast Boy what went on while he was tending to everyone else. I did most of the talking simply because Barelei was acting strange and during the Brother Blood incident I was an observer. I talked to a startling silence for over an hour. I didn’t know it was possible for Beast Boy to be quiet for that long.

Afterwards my voice was hoarse and I desperately needed something to drink. I abandoned BB and Cy to their thoughts and made for the kitchen. I opened various cabinets searching for a glass. When I found one I filled it up with water and drained it quickly. I sensed someone watching me and turned to look at them.

“Hey Terra, it’s good to see that you’re up.” Terra just nodded. “What are you looking for?” I asked as I watched her search the fridge.

“Anything that’s not blue and furry or tofu.” She replied. I smiled. Terra’s always in play sense of humor.

“That doesn’t leave much.” I reminded her.

“Yeah, you’re right. Hey are you hungry?”

“Kinda, why?”

“Cause if everybody’s hungry we can just order pizza.” She shrugged.

“Do what you want; I’ve got to go check on Sparrow and Raven.” I told her. Terra shrugged again and watched me depart.

As I passed trough the living room I noticed that Cyborg and Beast Boy had already mused enough and started playing the game station. I rolled my eyes at their careless attitude, especially Beast Boy (who was now complaining loudly that Cyborg was cheating). I walked through the room without being noticed and climbed the stairs. First, I went to check on Raven because she had been unconscious for longer than Sparrow. I wasn’t too worried that she might be in a coma because Terra had woken up and it seemed like they had been knocked out by the same thing.

The door opened with a sliding sound and I entered Raven’s room. She was in the same position that Cyborg had laid her in when we got home. The cloth that Beast Boy had put on Raven’s forehead was still there, so I got it wet again. I wondered if Raven could tell me what was going on in the team now. After about five minutes of standing in Raven’s room, I decided that I should go check on Sparrow.

Sparrow was moving. Hopefully this ment he would wake up soon. I stood in Sparrow’s room just as I did Raven’s only this time I was thinking about what would have happened to us the countless times Sparrow had helped us if he wasn't there. I was glad that he had agreed to be a Titan. I left Sparrow’s room and headed to Star’s.

She was stiring as well. At least two out of three people would be awake soon, I hoped. I headed back downstairs and heard the doorbell ring. Terra had decided to order pizza after all.

“Any luck?” Cyborg asked.

“Hmmm?” I mumbled still in deep thought.

“Rae and Sparrow and Star, are they gonna wake up soon?”

“Sparrow and Starfire might but Raven hasn’t even moved since you put her in her room.” I told him. Terra walked into the room, holding three pizza boxes.

“Let’s eat, then we can check on the others again.” No one could disagree to that so we ate.



Boring chapter, but it was kinda necessary. I tried not to leave a cliffhanger this time for everyone’s sake. Hmmm, I’m thinking two or three more chapters are left cause from here I can do what I want to, to end the story.

Chapter 19



As told by Malchior…



I smiled at the demon who calls himself Trigon; whom joined me in this accursed book almost a year ago.

“Yes, revenge would be sweet my friend, but I cannot help you get out. My magic has it’s limitations you know.”

“I don’t give a damn about your limitations! I must get Raven. The fate of my world resides in my daughter. Without her I cannot possibly fulfill my wish.” Trigon roared.

“Your world sounds promising; however from the sound of things you need my help.”

“That is the point I’ve been trying to get across to you even since we met Malchior! Are you that dense?” Bewilderment spread across my face at his insult. Trigon is no kind soul, in fact he is the very essence of evil, but I thought he would have the decency to show me a sliver of respect.

“You’d best silence yourself Trigon. I have no wish to help the one who insults me so.” I stood up and stretched my back, pulling my shoulder blades together. I could feel the anger that Trigon wanted to let out on me, but evidently I had touched a nerve.

“If you help me it would guarantee both of our escapes from this book. I know you have the power to do it Malchior.” He said with a glare.

“This conversation is getting most tiresome. If you insist on getting out and destroying the Earth, I might as well help you.”

“You want to get out of this book right?” Trigon asked me. I shrugged, it made no difference to me I had been in here for over a hundred years. Expect for the brief time that I spent out by tricking Raven to free me.

“Let’s begin…” I said simply.



As told by Sparrow…



Finally, the vast vortex of swirling darkness and color that was my state of unconsciousness broke. I remembered passing out in pain, the pain that still lingered in the back of my head. Slowly I sat up and as I did a moist piece of cloth fell into my lap. I raised my right hand to rub the pulsing of my head. This throbbing was the kind that was in tune with your heartbeat. Every beat it would pound.

Outside my curtains all was dark, and the tower was as silent as the grave. It must be very late… I thought although I didn’t care. I needed to find someone, anyone who could tell me what happened after I passed out, and more importantly what happened to Raven. The last time I saw her she was right before I had passed out, and she was unconscious already. I staggered out of my bed, still very weak from the fight.

After I had made it to the door, I headed towards Robin’s room. He would be the most likely to tell me what I needed to know. As I made my way down the hall, in more of a stumble that anything else, I wondered how long I had been out for. A few hours, a day, two days? The possibilities were endless. I didn’t care much; I just wanted to know if everyone else was ok.

I knocked three times on the cold metal of Robin’s door. Boy Wonder woke and I heard him grumbling to himself. When he opened the door and saw me, his whole aura changed.

“Sparrow, you’re awake! You’ve been out for almost ten hours. How’re you feeling?”

“Could be worse, don’t worry about me, how’s everyone else?” I hurried to ask.

“Star and Raven are still unconscious; Terra woke up around 6:30. Nobody else was hurt. ‘Sept Barelei’s acting kinda weird…” Robin yawned widely.

“You should go back to bed, sorry about waking you up.”

“’S ok,” he yawned again before continuing. “Better this way, now I know you’re better and you had no way of knowing how late it is.” I nodded and left him with a quick ‘night’.

I wanted to check on Raven but my body was telling me to go back to bed. My eyelids threatened to close as I opened the door to Raven’s bedroom. I shook my head in an attempt to wake myself up and walked in. Raven was laying still. Someone had removed her cloak and tucked the blankets around her. She looked like she was merely asleep.

I sighed, I was tired and my strength was failing me quickly. But something held me there in Raven’s room. Finally after ten minuets of silence I decided that my weird feeling was for nothing; until I glanced at Raven’s dresser before taking my leave. Her mirror that Barelei had gotten stuck in was laying there. Something wasn’t right though. Many colors were swirling around on the surface of the mirror, when it was normally black.

I walked over to it wondering why it was acting strange. I knew much about this mirror and how Raven’s emotions took their own bodies inside her mind which she called Nevermore. I had been in Raven’s mind once before and she explained everything to me. Except; she never told me why something like this would happen.

I looked back at the mirror and watched it closely. Yellow, pink, gray, green, purple and many other colors whirled on its facade. Then it came to me. Intelligence, Happiness, Timid, Brave, and Concern. Raven’s emotions were trying to tell me something. I didn’t remember how I had gotten into Nevermore the last time, but I thought that I had been touching it when it happened. I grabbed the mirror by its handle and, sure enough, a raven’s talon grabbed me.

I knew that a vortex was going to be taking me into Raven’s mind, so I closed my eyes quickly, having had enough of spinning things for one night. I landed in Nevermore seconds later laying flat on my back. I opened my eyes and about hit the roof.

“Whoa, don’t do that!” I yelled. As soon as I had opened my eyes I saw Happy almost nose to nose with me.

“Sorry I didn’t mean to scare ya.” Happy said, but her cheerful tone wasn’t in place. Something must be very wrong to get Happy down.

“We’ve been trying to get your attention ever since you came into Raven’s room. What took so long?” Impatient - sporting a light blue cloak – asked me.

“Sorry, I didn’t realize what was going on. Why did you need me anyway?”

“Raven is in grave danger.” Intelligence began, pushing her glasses up the bridge of her nose. “Trigon has found a way to free himself from the book. Rage told us that through her nightly visions he has told her this. Now Rage has secluded herself in a cave somewhere in Nevermore, we don’t know exactly where she is though.”

“But that’s not possible! The spell Raven used was supposed to trap him until the reverse spell is used.” The Ravens all nodded in agreement.

“With Malchior’s and Trigon’s powers combined, they will be able to break the curse.” The terrified voice of Fear wailed. Fear was an uncommon Raven-emotion that I had never met. Since the only thing Raven was scared of was Trigon, the maroon-cloaked Raven was hardly ever seen. Brave now took control of the conversation.

“Ok enough talk, we need to tell Sparrow what’s going on and how he can help. Raven’s survival depends on it!”

All the Ravens assembled a circle and sat down so I followed suite, sitting between Intelligence and Timid, who smiled at me shyly. Intelligence and Bravery stood up and looked at the crowd of Ravens around them.

“As we all know,” Bravery began in a loud commanding voice. “Trigon is nearly ready to fulfill our girl’s destiny.” Green Raven gave a derisive chuckle before continuing. Evidently she did not believe in destiny. “In her unconscious state it would be far too easy for him to get in here and destroy us all.”

“So this means,” Intelligence took over. “That we have to wake her up, or manage on our own. We might be able to manage with Sparrow’s help. With Raven’s help we’re guaranteed success if we all join forces.”

“The last time we did that we did defeat Trigon, but it wasn’t really him, it was just Rage! How can we be sure that it’ll work on the real thing?” one of the Ravens asked.

“It’s better than nothing.” Bravery countered. “And if she doesn’t wake up it doesn’t really matter.” At this point I began nodding off. I just now realized how tired I was. I hadn’t paid any attention to it since I arrived in Nevermore but it was back with a vengeance.

“You ok?” Timid whispered quietly.

“Yeah I’m fine ‘sept before I got here I had been unconscious for almost ten hours. I’m really tired.”

“You can lay on my shoulder if you want.” She suggested and blushed. I smiled in appreciation and rested. I didn’t hear much of the conversation that followed, though it seemed like it was mostly Intelligence and Bravery soothing all the others’ fears and answering their questions. I was half asleep for about the next hour and then feel into a doze. The only person who seemed to notice that I was sleeping was Timid. I wasn’t all that important at the moment so I allowed myself to fall into a deep slumber.



Next chapter things’ll heat up a bit. This chapter was more for information purposes, but I liked it better than the last one. Malchior seems a bit out of character, and that is unlikely to change but we’ll see how it goes. One more chapter to go me duckies!
