I state this because in the year 2005 Hanna-Barbera's legendary cat and mouse duo celebrates 65 years of entertainment (1940-2005)!! :tomcat: :jerry:

But for those of you who have been keeping track of real Tom & Jerry minutae over the years, here's some more T&J FYI: 2005 also marks the 40th Anniversary of T&J's Saturday Morning debut on CBS (September 25, 1965), the 30th Anniversary of the premiere of H-B's The New Tom & Jerry/Grape Ape Show on ABC (September 6, 1975), the 25th Anniversary of the debut of Filmation's Tom & Jerry Comedy Show on CBS (September 6, 1980), and the 15th Anniversary of the premiere of H-B/Turner's Tom & Jerry Kids Show on FOX (September 8, 1990). Pretty symmetric, huh? :D

Oh, and here's something else: you are currently reading my 100th post in The Toon Zone Forum! :) :anime: :D ;) :p  :zim:

hopefully we get the remaining H-B MGM era Tom & Jerry's on DVD - and uncut at that.

Wow, 65 Years! Hurray for Tom and Jerry! Still popular after all these years (the only classic besides Scooby Doo getting regular air time on Cartoon Network.) Give those two their social security checks (sorry for stealing material, but I liked that comment :D) and I agree with uncut DVD set. I think it would also be nice for Boomerang to run a marathon sometime and for CN to at least acknowledge this fact through commercials.

I guess new Tom & Jerry shows always began on years divisible by 5. Never thought of that. Come to think of it; wasn't that new "Mansion Cat" short released in 2000; 5 years ago?

I have stated this in a different, yet similar earlier post (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=130722).

Well, the celebration should start in September (after all, most of those shows premiered in September).

I suspect another, maybe a four-disc, box set will be coming!

You can read more information about the anniversary in this thread:
