I believe you all were saying that Deep Discount DVD gets cheaper ever November or something... any idea when it's happening this year?

I don't think it's a set time, but they've done it two or three times now. Last year around Thanksgiving was one, if I remember right, so they might be doing it again soon...

I sure hope so. I have three season sets that I want to get, and deepdiscountdvd.com has the best prices for them.

Just as long as it's sometime during this month.

Ya know, I wish my shopping cart wouldn't clear out every few days; I was planning to have stuff in there until the sale kicked in, so I could just get the deal as soon as it starts instead of tracking all that stuff down again.

What if you put them in your wish list? That's what I did. Then once the sale starts, I can immediately transfer them to the shopping cart and then place the order for them.

There's an idea...

... but if the Shopping Cart wouldn't just empty every so often, there'd be no problem...

well, right now i have 12 discs already picked out when they finally do have the discount (total price is 142.73 .... not that bad for 12 discs)

I've got three season sets (one of them is actually half a season), and four single DVDs in my wishlist that add up to $117.36.

I tried to move all the stuff to my basket, just to see how much it totalled up to be... but then I had to readd everything to my wishlist...

Any update on the sale?

Any update on the sale? It's not happening yet.

As far as I know there isn't some big rumor mill for internet DVD sales. When it goes on, I imagine we will all hear about it at about the same time.

From the New York Times. Code: NYTIMES

From tomorrow(11/4) to 11/20

Edit: sorry, didn't see the other Question thread. Can a mod work a closing/merger?

To be honest I'm mad. The sale happens one to three weeks before all the anime and live action DVDs I have left to pick up for the year come out. Seinfield, Anchorman, Hero, Fighting Spirit 3, Kaleido Star 6, etc. are all excluded. It's like they are mocking me. I mean sure they wold lose money on those popular items but wouldn't the volume more than make up for it? Oh and does anyone know if the Seinfield Season 1-3 gift set is limited or not?

Funkatron
11-13-2004, 08:17 PM
It's good for me cause there is a couple of animes not on my regular list I'd like to get. Particularly Mezzo, Burn up Scramble, GateKeepers and Vandread

What, they don't e-mail customers who have purchased from them in the past about these things? That's what I've been waiting for all along.

What, they don't e-mail customers who have purchased from them in the past about these things? That's what I've been waiting for all along. My guess is that will be coming in the next couple of days. I usually hear about it on-line first and then get the e-mail.

Time to go waste money on WWE DVDs!!

Well, the only DVDs I want from them that I can't use this sale towards are Boy Meets World season 2 and X-Men: Evolution season 2-volume 4: Mystique's Revenge. They come out on the 23rd and the 30th of this month respectively. Bummer.

Yes the site has been rather screwy lately. I'm afraid it'll go on the fritz once I input the code, then place my order, and next thing I know, the code is no longer valid once I try again after the messup.

When you're about to submit your order, find the place that says to input promotion code. Then click on SUBMIT CODE, and there you go.

My word that's a lotta codes. I wonder if you could use each one if you wanted to go back for something else.

I got the e-mail now so I feel better about it. Same dates, 11/14-11/20.

Question: Is the 20% still valid on pre-orders (like BTAS Vol Two or Return of the King Extended Edition)?

Well, here's what I'll be getting this month with the sale:

-Home Movies - Season 1 (That comes out this Tuesday, so I'll take advantage of the sale once Tuesday comes.)
-Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Vol. 13 - Battle Nexus (no more "harassing" Best Buy for that one :) )
-Transformers Armada - Season 1, Part 1 (Shut up!)
-X-Men: Evolution - Season 2, Vol. 1 - Mutants Rising
-X-Men: Evolution - Season 2, Vol. 2 - Powers Revealed
-X-Men: Evolution - Season 2, Vol. 3 - Enemies Unveiled

If only Boy Meets World: The Complete Second Season and X-Men: Evolution - Season 2, Vol. 4 - Mystique's Revenge were coming out this week. I'm cool with buying Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Spider-Man 2 from stores though.

I'm afraid it'll go on the fritz once I input the code, then place my order, and next thing I know, the code is no longer valid once I try again after the messup. If you do end up having lots of problems with the site, they have a decent 800 number with good service. I've had to call it several times in the past to clear up, *ahem* issues with past orders. They always resolve my issues, and most of the time I'm even happy with the result, which is saying alot...

800-264-5076. Monday through Friday from 8 A.M. to 7 P.M. CT and on Saturday from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. CT.

It seems like the sale they had over the summer lasted longer. Any idea if they'll do another sale in December? A week isn't enough for me to save up enough money to buy all the stuff I want.

I don't know any inside info or anything, but from past experience, I'd say there is absolutely no chance they are doing a sale in December after having one halfway through November. They seem to have these sales twice a year at the most...

I haven't ordered anything for myself yet, but this coupon helped me take care of the vast majority of my Christmas shopping this year?
