Here in the UK, a lot of places have Ally McBeal, buy one get one free. :D

For Candians however, Ally McBeal was probably part of the deal in which Fox had to wait 5 years before they put anything on home video. I have no idea what year Ms. McBeal started, but I'm sure it's past the 5 years mark.

I don't know if the interest is there. Ally is a shelf warmer down here, and basically always has been.

She ended in spring 2002, so she started five seasons before, in fall 1997.

I vaguely know that the music rights to the show are also an issue...but anyhow...

And how much exactly do you think it would cost for the first four seasons of the show (two volumes per season) on DVD, AS? At these clearance prices to which you refer...in Canadian cash of course.

Dude, I won't say it enough apparently.

Go region free.

Region free DVD players don't have to set you back. I bought a good one for a family member for about 80.00 for a gift and it works great.

Ally McBeal is on DVD in all it's glory in the UK. Lo and Behold. (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/search-handle-url/index=dvd-uk&field-keywords=Ally%20McBeal/ref=xs_ap_l_xgl/026-1018034-4650846)

Now, no more moping! Get on the region free wagon!

*sigh*

Yes, you're right Calhoun07 (haven't seen you in a while!), but I guess I don't want to invest in the UK sets if Ally's on her way eventually here....with all those lovely deleted scenes that David E Kelly made use of in the short-lived Ally series. And I know there's an alternate ending to Robert Downey Junior's final episode in Season Four. I'd love to see whatever scenes were shot between him and Calista before the whole engagement/wedding plotline was aborted due to his arrest.

I was looking at the UK sets yesterday online and I noticed that the 2nd set of Season Four episodes seems to have them all listed out-of-order. Here's a link to the sets:

http://www1.hmv.co.uk/hmvweb/displayProductDetails.do?ctx=280;-1;-1;-1&sku=932613

On that page, the episodes are listed as follows...

Disc 1 Episodes
Reach Out And Touch

The Pursuit Of Unhappiness

Queen Bee

Boys Town

Disc 2 Episodes

The Obstacle Course

Home Again

Falling Up

In Search Of Barry White

Disc 3 Episodes

The Wedding

The Getaway

Cloudy Skies Chance Of Parade

But "The Wedding" was the finale, so why would it be at the start of the last disc? Here's Tv Tomes list for the last 11 episodes:

So, are they in the wrong order on the discs, or did the website just get them wrong?

Finally, before I die, I want to read the original script for "The Wedding". You all know how much I love about this show (and can probably imagine how often it pops up in my daily thoughts), so I turn to you for advice as to how on earth I could manage to learn how things would have been if Ally had gotten her happy ending.

...what I really need is a lunch with David and Michelle :) *sigh*

P.S. I really do appreciate those of you who take the time to respond to my Ally-related threads. :)

Heya...for whatever reason I've convinced myself that there's more of a likelyhood of Ally coming to DVD within the next five years. Maybe I'm just giving myself a deadline...if they don't come out in five, then I'll go grab the UK DVDs and go region free. But I'm holding out hope that we'll get them here in Canada and the US with some nifty bonus features. So...any news in that department? Is Ally even on the minds of FOX Home Video?
