So surprised that no one started this thread yet. Shrek 2 has been released in DVD on Friday.

The main menu featured all of the characters, and Donkey talking about fixing the title, including, "Shrek 2: Donkey Reloaded!" But, as usual, many characters disagree.

Far, Far Away Idol was really funny, because of Simon Cowell. I especially loved his line when Captain Hook was poorly singing, "Hooked on a Feeling."

Quote: Hook, line, and STINKER!

Anyone else picked it up? If so, rate and review!

Sorry, it's going to be a while for me. Tons of other DVDs take priority. And is it just me, or does this Shrek 2 DVD actually have LESS special stuff than the Shrek 1 Special Edition?

My sister picked up the DVD last weekend and we watched it and i would have to say that it was quite good. The menu with donkey talking was hilarious and Far Far Away Idol was cool to. Though i was kinda miffed that they hyped it up as an Alternate Ending when its really not. The only other feature i have watched was the animation goofs thing which was kinda dumb at first but some of them where funny, like the poofy Puss-in-Boots.

It DOES have less special features. In fact, this release only has one disc compared to the original Shrek's TWO discs.

I'm pissed off that Shrek 2 doesn't come with that voice over game where you can dub over the characters' lines. I'm even MORE pissed off that Shrek 2 doesn't even include its trailers and commercials.

LAME.

LAME. That IS lame, especially since Shrek 2 made TWICE as much money as Shrek 1 in theatres. Kinda makes me wonder if a "Super Special Edition" will be coming out later. Yep, this is definitely gonna have to wait a while. Uber lame.

The original Shrek DVD release was on two discs because one disc had the widescreen version and the other had the full-frame presentation. I thought the special features and extras on both discs were exactly the same, but I can't confirm that now.

Anyway, I bought the disc last Friday, watched it Sunday, and I was pleased with it. It's not one of the most feature-filled discs on the planet, but there's enough there for me.

There are a couple odd things about the packaging, though:

-The keepcase has to be 'latched' open before it can be normally opened. I've never seen that kind of case before, and the latches just get in my way. If I become more anal about it, then I'll just put the cover art and disc in another case.

-There's no insert... none whatsoever.

Aside from those things, I can't really complain. But I'll also be annoyed if Dreamworks decides to release some 2-disc super deluxe ultimate 4D edition later on. All of this double-dipping is starting to annoy me.

Yeah, that was bizarre. I've never seen anything like it before.

And I hope I never do again.

I got Shrek 2 at Wal-Mart with the bonus party CD. I know that Best Buy had an extra DVD-rom with theirs. What made me mad was when I saw that Circuit City came out with a 2-disc Shrek 2 DVD for $19.99 the week after the 1-disc version was released right after everyone went out and bought it. There is also a 4-disc Shrek boxset I seen at Circuit City and Target for about $39.99 (which isn't bad because you get Shrek, Shrek 2, Shrek 3-D, and another disc--I wish I knew what it was). I just hate how sometimes there can be so many versions of DVDs.

i went to a chinese mall in Toronto and was actually tempted to buy the Region 3 Hong Kong edition of "Shrek 2" and it actually does have a 2nd disc full of special features. here's a list of the bonus features on the 2nd disc of the Hong Kong edition.

- Puss in Boots Music Video
- Learn how to burp with Shrek and Fiona
- Shrek 2 Around The World
- More fun with Shrek and Donkey
- The Making of Far Far Idol
- Learn 2 Draw

I've already heard there's a special edition of Shrek 2 in Hong Kong where a 3rd disc is added. But i think the 3rd disc is on VCD containing a short feature about Shrek and Fiona between the first and 2nd film
