Greetings again once again from another time and place, space cowboys! It's new Fresh Question time. Let's get right to it, before you try and understand whatever I just said.
My mind is always in a wacky place, especially when movies and TV inspire me to get on another one of my never ending thought trains. Right now it's on love. There have been a lot of very thought provoking movies, books, and TV show subject matter on this crazy thing. There are as many of them as their are interpretations and opinions on love. We don't have to get into THAT though. The only thing I was wondering was:
What is your most favorite love story??
As far as category, go with movie, TV, book, some of the above, whatever fits.

I have read or seen some love stories but I know I love the movie Casablanca. This movie is amazing, well written and began my liking for the actor Humphrey Bogart. Casablanca deserves it's spot as #2 on the American Film Institutes list of America's 100 greatest movies of all time from 1896-1996. Casablanca is a phenomenal and moving love story which although didnt make me cry just gave me a feeling of greatness.

I totally dig Vanilla Sky and Meet Joe Black, but my not-so-fresh answer would have to be Romeo and Juliet, the play, the '60s film, the '96 film, whatever. R+J

Hmm, I'd say Aragorn and Arwen from Lord of the Rings. (And yes, I was one of the weird people who liked the movies better than the books). At the end of Return of the King I was practically yelling at the screen for him to kiss her:p
Romeo and Juliet..it is as current as today's news..and as much greater...Stuart:sweat:

The Remains of the Day. I usually loathe movies dealing with romance and love, but this is a terrific film.

Movies:
Moulin Rouge - My favorite tragic love story featured on the big screen so far. Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman had great chemistry and made me believe in the characters and their story.
Sabrina - The one with Bogart and Hepburn. The one with Harrison Ford just didn't have the same magic.
When Harry Met Sally - I think this is the first romantic comedy I've ever seen and it's remained a classic favorite of mine.
Dirty Dancing - Fun and nostalgic.
While You Were Sleeping - One of the most enjoyable romantic comedies and probably my favorite since the '90s to now.
TV:
Buffy and Angel - Same reason why I like Moulin Rouge. Lots of fire, passion, and heart-wrenching tragedy and the actors just had really, really great chemistry that made me believe.

I have to totally agree with you. Casablanca is one of my favorite films of all time. The perfect love story that everyone must see. As a guy, you want to be Bogie and fall in love with Bergman. The finest product of the old studio system. It is my ideal romance.

I'm gonna throw in an anime to the mix; His and Her Circumstances. The manga and the TV series present the best romantic serial I've ever seen, anywhere.
And I cried like a baby at Titanic. I'll admit it. Good movie. But then again, I also cried at What Dreams May Come.
