Already tried netzero and peoplepc, both of which stopped working and no cause or solution was ever found.

I need something that comes to maryland, costs less than ten dollars a month, and doesn't require any extra software or applications just to stay online. Something reliable but as bare-bones as possible.

NO broadband service reaches my house...

perhaps earthlink dial-up? although I think it might be a bit more than $10. I can't really think of other cheap dial-ups, since you mentioned already trying NetZero and PeoplePC and Juno is part of NetZero now..

dunno, we used erols and then it merged with, and became, starpower. Cant complain too much, but the whole area was down for a few days last week. It has worked more or less reliably for several years, but dialup sux. We be gettin' high speed internet soon. I'm stoked!

A great site to help research cheap & free ISPs is freedomlist.com (http://www.freedomlist.com/forum/index.php?sid=bfd21890e22ccb5c500e56e17a706162)

I live in atlanta, so I opted for access4less.net (located downtown). They're cheap and effective as a dial up. But you may find something better for where ever you live Scythemantis.
