I got some good news today- my application for the Los Angeles Film Studies in the Spring 2005 semester was approved! It runs from January 8th to April 30th and it's 16 credits. My classes include Screenwriting, Faith Film, & Culture, Intro to Filmmaking, and one internship. Hopefully this will help me get a foot in the door- I've heard of many students who went on this trip and got job offers while out there, so that's definitely good news.
I'm really looking forward to this semester. It should be actual hands-on stuff, and less of the useless "theory" stuff that seems to populate many college classes. Case in point: Right now I'm in Video Production 1 and am having a great time. It's obvious where my interests lie. :) Plus, I can FINALLY get off the stupid campus. Not to say that I hate my college, but jeez, to be here for coming up on 2 1/2 years straight, it does tend to drive you nuts.
Now the one thing I'm NOT looking forward to is, of course, traffic. But hey, it's L.A. and I'm expecting it going in. Anything else I should know? Best stuff to see? Finest restaurants? Maybe the wrong color shirts to wear? ;) You L.A. people from Toon Zone, clue me in.
