If ya got 'em, post 'em!
Unfortunately, I'll not be decked out in SWAT gear tonight, since my old flight suit seems to be currently MIA. Instead tonight, I get to dress in a lame and unflattering Nintendork, last minute thrown together, costume. :p
There should be pics galore from me and Team Danger. Looking forward to checking out all our creativity.
Have a happy and safe, Halloween!

I'll post some pics of my costume tomorrow, after my mini photoshoot.
But for now, let's say this (http://neontempest.com/roa/uploads/post-6-1099170314.jpg) is my "Mischief Night" costume. Me cosplaying as Robin Sena from WHR. ;)

i've yet to buy pumpkins and candy and stuff for halloween..
not even to speak of uh, well, groceries...
... think i'd have time to dress up this year?
... and no i don't think i'll dress up as an elephant like i'd planned, cause i'm already depressed over the thanksgiving and xmas holidays well in advance.
maybe i could post some other kind of picture, like of stuffed animals plushies celebrating halloween instead. how about that?

Halloween is a terrible holiday, I feel that it's representation of witches is offensive to the wiccan culture and belief. Hopefully people will come to their senses and stop this madness.

Makes me wish I had a digital camera, the only thing topical are the pumpkins we carved, one with Gir and Angry monkey :gir: the other with this just really spooky face which is even spookier with a candle in there. Yeah, the first one is odd, but we wanted to be silly. :D

Halloween is also my birthday, I just turned 21 (but still don't plan on drinking).
I wrote this satirical story in H.P. Lovecraft's style (http://www.bogleech.com/mythos.html) as a small part of the internet half of my celebrations. (Lovecraft was, as some of you may know, rather racist and seriously overused adjectives. I still adore his stories, though)
Also an article about the goofiest real-world vampire legends (http://www.bogleech.com/blather-sillyvampires.html) illustrated in the same crappy crayon style.
As I do every year, I have probably spent hundreds upon hundreds on strange halloween toys/decorations that I leave up year-round. Esspecially jackolantern ones.
i'm sorry, but i seriously really dislike halloween. not up there on my "favorite things" list. in fact, it's right at the end, but right above clowns
Care to explain why, exactly? That's simply unfathomable. If people are going to celebrate and commercialize things they might as well be COOL things i.e. monsters, horror and sugar. What can you possibly dislike about halloween unless you're a rightie fundamentalist? I can understand disliking christmas, valentine's day, thanksgiving...but not halloween. Everything about it is pure fun and kicks every kind of ass.
This is not true. Think about the wiccan in your town. Sure she may have some warts on her nose and maybe the hum of a vacuum has never graced her home. Frogs and birds may disappear there but that could be anything. This does not justify denying your kind neighborly wiccan witch the right to enter the town chile cook out, especialy when she's already made an entire cauldron full. It's days like halloween that puts a frown on the face of of Wiccans nation wide and it's going to take people like us to stop it.

The wiccans I know all enjoy halloween! But they also enjoy crafting homonculi from my eye jelly and ordering them to crap in my shoes. Lousy homonculi.

I went Trick-or-Treating for around an hour! It was great! A decent amount of free candy, for sure. Free candy rocks. i finished the night, with lots of Toonami and Tales of Symphonia goodness.

Well, I for one am definitely not frowning today.
I'm Pagan, not Wiccan but many of our beliefs are shared and halloween or Samhain to give it its proper name is a time for celebration not for getting all tetchy about what the neighbours may or may not be thinking about you.
Samhain marks the end of summer / beginning of winter and is also the beginning of the old Celtic new year. Most of the traditions you enjoy on Halloween have their roots in the past from your jack-o-lanterns to dressing up in costumes to going around the neighbourhood asking for treats. All of the Wiccans and Pagans I know look forward to Samhain, its an important festival, a time for quiet contemplation and also great fun.

How could you have gone trick or treating already in the US? Did you do it at the mall?

Thank you. Now I know who to blame for Mischief Night and vandalism on Halloween.
On halloween the law should make an exception to killing children and their parents who allow them to terrorize the neighborhoods.

Funny you should say that ... I happen to be Wiccan, and am not offended in the least. I usually end up decorating my house and handing out candy every year - although I think my dad got "volunteered" for that job. :p
Most of the Wiccans/Pagans I know are not offended by Halloween. Last night, I was at a party to celebrate Samhain other Wiccans and Pagans. After the ritual (religious service), we had a costume party - with a lot of us dressed up as "Halloween witches" - and the place we had our potluck in was decorated with witches, skulls, spiders, etc. We all had a great time. ;)
If anyone is interested, the Witches' Voice site has an excellent page on Samhain (http://www.witchvox.com/holidays/xsamhain.html) with a number of essays wherein the authors explain the holiday. I really recommend the first two essays.
Happy Halloween (and Samhain) to all! Blessed Be!

If I may ask, Strawberry - is this statement related to the recent news article about the Puyallup school distract banning Halloween (http://www.komotv.com/stories/33602.htm) from the classrooms?
If you read that article, the school superintendent says that decision was made for three reasons: 1) Halloween parties and parades waste valuable classroom time, 2) some families can't afford costumes, and 3) children dressed in Halloween costumes might be offensive to real witches.
I think that the primary reasons for the decision were 1 & 2, with 3 possibly added in an effort to be politically correct. However, no Wiccan or Pagan that I know would advocate taking away Halloween fun from children.

Yeah, a great deal of sarcasm fueled by that article went into those posts... I think the idea of stopping any holiday because of political correctness is stupid but dumb stuff like this is needed to show everybody. But that's probably for another topic.

I don't like other people knowing who I am, any time of the year really. If I could I'd wear some kind of cool helmet or reflective dome or paper bag. But then I'd ironically stand out more.
Clowns are disturbing but mimes, oddly, have never bothered me. Maybe because they're quiet.
:D Happy Samhain everyone!:D
I just LOVE this holiday! Honestly, the only time i don't feel like I'm wearing a masque is when I am wearing one. Strange, I know, but It's just so freeing. Does anyone else feel like that, or is Toon Zone's resident eccentric just being wierd again?;)
Anyhow, tonight, I plan to get all dressed up, and go out to see "The Grudge", providing i manage to finish my stinking term paper on time.

My celebration began in august as I started blowing hundreds of dollars halloween decorations & toys (which I keep up all year as a growing collection)
Movies I've seen for the first time in the past few weeks include Uzumaki, Plan 9 from outer space (YAY!), and the new Dawn of the Dead. Might see grudge tomorrow or later in the week (you don't gotta do everything BEFORE halloween...)

I know the night is still young, but out of curiosity how many trick-or-treaters did you guys get this year? We only got about six or seven groups, but that was more than we got last year. Usually on we get a lot more when Halloween falls on a weekday (there were probably lots of parties these past two years), although nothing compares to when I was in grade school; a lot of the other neighborhood kids are my age, so we were always running out of candy when my brother and I still went door-to-door.

We had fewer than last year here. Granted, they were divided between last night and tonight, but still.
Yeah, had those fangs that cap over your teeth. Been waiting to wear them for three years (I've had braces). Unfortunately, the puddy didn't perform well. Went around with a couple of my masks, spent time with a lady friend..;) . Anyway, and a couple of friends pointed this out also: does it even feel like Halloween?
Anyway, have a happy one.

What did Halloween mean for me? Well for one, it was very, very warm. I got to wear my Green Lantern T-shirt without a jacket. And after I came back from therapy, I went to my sister's home wearing the associated GL mask and power ring as a surprise to pick up a few supplies and watch her hand out candy. Unfortunately, she lives in a basement apartment of the house, so she didn't get alot of visitors. Compared to that of my father who sat outside the building as he usually does handing out candy. His stash was gone within three hours.
Halloween was also the day I shaved off my famous goatee. I'm gonna miss it. :(

Halloween? Don't celebrate as much as I did when I was a kid. Stopped trick-or-treating after I entered Middle school. I usually was one of the last kids to go around.
Well, I did my project for school (due WED). Good thing I'm off today. Wish I was also off at Election Day, but oh well.
My house only got at least two trick-or-treaters. I didn't really answer to one. Good thing my neighborhood doesn't have mischeif night. Those kids need to be in jail and be grounded for life!!!
I never knew there were pagans here. Kinda cool.

I went trick-or-treating with a group of my friends. Personally, I hate trick-or-treating. I never wound up eating all the candy and I feel we're all a bit too old to be doing it. But they really wanted me to come, God knows why, so I came for them.
It was fun to hang-out with them, but I didn't get much candy. And whatever I did get I ate along the way....
It was also hard as hell to see out of my costume of Samara...

Haven't celebrated Halloween since 3rd grade. I miss them days. We never get Trick or Treaters. My block is a big Apartment buildings. Everyone in costume just goes out the the main street where all the stores are.
How did I celebrate? I watched Nihtmare Before Christmas on tape, then proceeded to big out on all the candy my mother bought , watched all the haunted programing on Travel channel, and History channel [why go for scary movies when you can watched programs based on what [i]should be actual events], then proceeded to play some tricks on my family.
