Stuffed animals? Hmm. . . I have a pink bunny holding a carrot that my uncle from FL sent up to me. . . But I don't think I have any others. I remember when I was like 4 or 5 I had this little white stuffed puppy with black spots. I called it "Puppy" (go figure) and it was all dirty and it had pink all over it's mouth from when I put lipstick on it once. And I had a whale that my sister's boyfriend won from a claw machine that he gave me. I called that Willy. Those are the only two that I really remember from back in the day.

Years and years ago and I'm still bitter.I have a ton of stuffed animals, have since I was a kid. As I've gotten older I don't buy them much, but I do have several stuffed squirrels (don't ask!) and one stuffed Skuld Plush. I do rather enjoy plushes.
When I was a boy, I would always take the stuffed animal and beat them up! Often times when the old Mario Brothers Super Show episodes were on, when the battlin' bros were taking out Koopas and Goombas, I would be taking out the stuffed animals with punches and kicks and a toy plunger! So for me stuffed animals were target practice.

My grandfather used to work for Dakin toys, and he made these regular trips to Japan. The night after I was born, he flew in from Tokyo and brought a prototype teddy bear back with him. He gave it to my parents who gave it to me, and I adored the thing. For six or seven years, we were inseperable, and fairly tight for a while after that. I still have it, sitting on the top shelf of my closet back home. It's in just about the rattiest shape imaginable, but I'm glad I've held onto it. It's pretty much my entire childhood summed up in a single object. Interestingly enough, the bear never went to manufacture, so it's one-of-a-kind.
And that's the story of my first and only stuffed animal, because I'm sure you all really wanted to know.
So yeah, I don't have any stuffed animals nowadays, but I will confess to having an action figure or two. I'm staring at a Vision right now, in fact.

There's a whole pile of them on the top shelf of my closet, but they're from my childhood and I've never gotten rid of them. They've been up there for years. I only own more recent stuffed sissy stuff as gifts from well-meaning yet deluded relatives. My most recent plush up there is of the Target dog.
I might have some things worth money though...I have the complete set of original Simpsons dolls from the 1990 Burger King giveaway as well as the ET doll from 1982 which was given to me as a baby.

From a variety of different antique stores around here. It's been way too long and they're far more difficult to find. One time I even came across a Bill plush, but the asking price was way too high.

Well, when the owners of claw machines were still honest, I've won an awful lot of plushies, AFAIR around sixty of them. I gave most of them away, but I still have three "pilots" in leather jackets, aviator caps and goggles: two bears and a pig (I'm especially proud of the bigger bear - it was the big prize, I spent 2$ on it - four 'goes').
Yes, I have the top of my bookshelf filled with stuffed animals. I don't think I've got one since I was 10, though.

Oh gosh, I had sooo many stuffed animals when I was a kid - I would literally just bury myself in them when I went to bed, it was so very cozy...the giant stuffed horse that was my constant playmate is now happily stabled in my mom's house back in FL...And I -would- still have my favourite stuffed lion if only my sister's dog hadn't ripped him to shreds several years back (oh, the horror! Oh the tragedy! I was far more distraught about that than any 24-year old really should have been, I suppose...sigh)
These days the only stuffed animals I have are Plank (from Ed, Edd n Eddy - he sees things!), a blue dragon who sits atop one of my bookcases (to guard my books of course!), and a big ol' teddy bear I got from London - named Rugby not because I care at all about sports but b/c The Rugby Tavern was one of my favourite pubs there, I guess I sort of associate teddy bears and ideal pubs with that same sort of 'cozy' feel =)

I don't know if it is bizarre coincidence or you plotted it this way, but yesterday was Plush Animal Lover's Day. Give your plushes a hug!
My history with plushes came during the 80s, when cartoons felt real and there was even a Christmas movie where the toys would come to life and have adventures - I wish I remember what that movie was called -- With the vibrant imagination of a child, I got my parents to buy me a bunch of different plush kinds - My favorites are a fluffy dog with long ears that covered his eyes - who never had a name come to think of it - A large smooth frog that we used to put a cape on and throw around and who, sadly, has ripped apart and is no more - and two Roger Rabbit plushes - one brown and worn, with a string who used to talk but we left him in the rain accidently... and the other clean and new since I bought him off Ebay recently for $1 :D There were tons of others, some still here, some eaten by dogs, some sold off, some lost during moves here and there - but my 'collection', and I hesitate to call it that, is still strong.
I used to have mock puppet shows with them with my bro, complete with camera, a pushed over table, and stage signs. Those were the days. I still have videos of those... I'm getting nostalgaic enough to watch them now.
Naturally, as I grew older and less inclined to imaginary friends and identifying myself with figments of imagination (with notable exceptions), I purchased less and less (tho that super-huge arse $30 Pikachu did tempt me), and never got into the beanie bag animal craze. My latest purchase were a hoard of Plush Camels from Kuwait, because they were being sold for a buck each - even the singing ones!
So, yeah, Plush and stuffed toys are cute, huggable, and remind you of fantasy and childhood bliss, and are things to cherish, guy or girl (of which I'm the former, despite the avvy:p )

Plusies! I have a bear plush from my early 20's that was given to me by my uncle onboard a cruise on the mediterranean sea. Two years ago, near Christmas, I saw a plush sheep. It was so fluffy and cute with it's bow around its neck that I ended up purchasing it...and I named it Fluffy the sheep. My last plush and all time favorite was given to me this year a few day before I graduated ...a close friend got me Justice League plush BATMAN! When you squeaze his chest he makes fighting sounds! *bounces* I so love my batsy plush!
Well, I guess that makes three plush toys that I have and love =D

I used to have some sonic ones, but somewhere down the line the stopped showing up.
I have far too many stuffed animals. I have shelves on one side of my room that are entirely used for any toy that is from a movie or tv show, a spot just for teddy bears, and two shelves for "just because" plushies and another shelf absolutely filled with Puffkins (if anybody knows what those are).
The other day I told myself I wouldn't buy anymore, at all. Since I'm 21, and think my room shouldn't be overrun with toys, it's just not "mature" So, of course as soon as I go to an estate sale with my mother after work, I see two Muppet Babies Christmas toys. Kermit and Fozzie. So I plunked down my cash and walked out with them of course. ;)

I'm almost certion the special that you're thinking of was Jim Henson's The Christmas Toy. It actually started a series on The Disney Channel a decade later called Jim Henson's The Secret Life of Toys. I would kill for the special and the pilot on DVD. The Special predated Toy Story by a decade.

Yep! With the help of flea markets, my parents and E-Bay I have amassed the Care Bears collection that I was denied during my childhood. I also have collected several of the Care Bears beanies that have been released in honor of the 20th anniversary.
As far as other stuffed animals go, a majority of my collection is stored in a Rubbermaid container in my basement, as there's no room for them in my room. Aside from my Care Bears collection I have in my room, among other things, a Stitch plush, a Thumper plush, one of the Playskool Scooter dolls from 1978 (and in relatively good condition, too!) and my collection of teddy bears.

I have many and few are out in the open (on my bed). I used to be hip to beanie babies but I stopped collecting them long ago. I never really did it for face value but I did get the original frog "Legs". He's cute and plain and no doubt worth a decent amount of money about now.
I got all 8 of the N64 age Nintendo mini-plushes. Those were cool.
I have more iconic characters in storage or in my closet... Pikachu (wish I had the talking one though), Psyduck, Darking Duck (not easy to come by), Huey, Duey and Luey, Buster Bunny, and big Mikey and a big Big Bird (missing an eye now, but we had good times when I was a wee lad), and out of oddity... I also have the Vlasic Pickles stork as well.
I also have a frog stuffed animal that was made for me. It's a bit more rustic looking than the others.

I was only booted for two days (apparently for inflammatory comments which are exactly what I thought I had avoided making. I don't care enough to argue it)
I have some other plush stuff around my room, particularly a stuffed giant squid (you can see two of its tentacles at the top of that pic) a glow-in-the-dark stuffed ghost, a really big, sparkly halloween rat with light-up eyes (and a bow tie!) and some giant microbes (http://www.giantmicrobes.com) (indian sleeping sickness and flesh eating bacteria! The bedbug and dust mite are somewhere in that big pile). Also a small Mojo Jojo from an arcade machine.
The cat, grinning pumpkin guy and green frankenstein with the in the lower right of that pic (all with the same plastic yellow eyes) are my favorites. Their heads are held on only with velcro and they came holding bags of gory eyeball bubblegum. I esspecially love how detachable heads make sense for the two monsters but not for the cat. Taken out of the halloween context it's just a cute little cat who's head rips off.

here's some more of my collection:
http://members.aol.com/pellikhan/myhomepage/drapesoftheapez.jpg
the purple one i wanted to get for a while, and recently got, is maybe the coolest.. he's probably mostly uniform for skin, but still.. i guess he has a place right above my head.
i call him 'tackle'. i have names for the other ones, but in other circles i'd have admitted their names.. just not here.
as for the one with the soccer ball.. i wouldn't want to wake up as somebody else i really was meant to be, after all, after being beaned with a big thing like that he'd toss around just to inflict chaos on the rest of my collection.

some of those manhattan groovy girls i've found and collected (to mostly keep those gorillas and simians i showed you earlier, in line should they ever come to life by some bad outspurt of the imagination), were experimented on as part of some funny photos i make for this website on pinball... the one who's head looks like a wrench was made for a avatar i did as part of halloween festivities.. though disfigured she still is very much cute.
as you can see, some of these dolls, what they wear are kinda ehm, wierd ideas i've had , in making superheroine garments for some of my collection..
.. some of which were recent ones.
http://members.aol.com/pellikhan/myhomepage/unknown.jpg
.. cause it's not easy finding garments for them all to wear, especially if i find some at a flea market who don't have any garments whatsoever.
the poodle and the cat also represent some heros i'll probably write into stories someday, perhaps when winter really sets down here in south texas.
i got the sea rays to study their shapes, as it is likely in the stories i plan to write... the good guy's starship is based on a sea ray's aerodynamics and form, and is graceful when gliding through the skies.
if it borders on creepy, well, i'm still not over the halloween i had trying to shop for thanksgiving and halloween at the SAME TIME, much.
but i'll be much better soon, i promise.
at one time there were lots of scoops pelicans from ty beanie babies, but i'll probably put those in storage. for quite a while.
more to show, later on..
... book?

and here's some of the duplicates i have...
one of them i think looks like some of the 'homies' i have, namely japon.. i have a few of those japons i got out of the crane machines that
http://members.aol.com/pellikhan/myhomepage/stuntdoubles2.jpg
i didn't really think very well, of having their arms fused to their sides..
i had to personally free their arms from their sides because.. well..
not even a real person, much less a toy stuffed one, should go through their lives with their hands in their pockets..
..and not even being able to take them out.

I had a great plushie day today. I picked up eight stuffed animals. Some Ty plushies and couple of Sesame Street small plushes, a Curious George, and Olive the Other Reindeer.
But the best part of today was when my mom found my oldest stuffed animal from when I was a toddler and I was reuinited for the first time in what had to be twenty years. Cleaning out your basement is a good things folks. I have my little Bunny Luv back and I am so happy.:anime:

I admit that at BJ's a year back, there was a sale on HUGE stuffed animals. My mom asked my dad to get the dog, and I was with him. My mom called him "Charlie" (From All Dogs go to Heaven), and also I nick-named him Woofie. The dog is so awesome to hug on days you are down.

Wow, yesterday was weird. I made my 4000th post without even realizing it and I finally got my 400th stuffed animal. It was a small Ballerina Zoe. I had picked up Medium sized Curious George and two small Dory and Bubbles Beanies from Finding Nemo. A good day for posts and plushies.:)
I've got a few....yet you're 29 and I'm 15....and I still feel bad for the both of us:sweat:
Let's see, I have a Monoka from Rayearth,Some knagaro/dino thing I've had since I was 6. A tom cat, a polar bear and a rabbit I got when I was born....man I hold onto stuff to much:sweat: I'm still waiting for the toonzone members plushie!

i'd take it, that in this picture (which i'd be forgiving the mess of , since i've been cleaning up in my bedroom a bit lately) , that there are 13 or so groovy girls from manhattan toys... a few of which were mended after purchase, some dollie named 'maggie mae' that was given a makeover and a better life, a poodle, a lion puppet i'd got in houston a year or so ago (and probably WOULD like to go there again briefly had he only a brain), a few boy dolls, mostly one mijo, a homie, a plushie from the home depot, a whole bunch of similar rag dolls i've yet to see a maker from (but are at least 130 years too retro for their own good in fashion), and a space alien who probably would wonder, if he lived.. why his space program has to rely on mythical creatures like the tooth fairy and a dragon to function at all..
there are probably a few duplicates of the groovy girls in the batch , you'd see.. and maybe one of them who's been told about the taste of turkeys by another so horribly, that she's given up having her face visible to the world just to keep from being served turkey this thanksgiving...
there's even a few ty beanie baby humanoid dolls in the batch..
this picture doesn't even show the nearby shelves of gorillas .. and even a mermaid hand crafted from a dolphin and one of the groovy girls (not one of the mermaids that the makers of groovy girls, aka manhattan toys, sold, but hand crafted together with scissors and thread ) .. who now has a boyfriend, an adopted zombie daughter that was handmade, and a wheelchair to get around since how otherwise could a mermaid get around on land?
hopefully sometime all the simian ones can be gathered into a group and photographed.. sometime.
there's a whole bunch in a backroom that are mostly ty pelicans and other beasts.. that i may showcase at a later time.. once it gets a lot more cleaned up and presentable.
plush it down the hole,

Okay, I admit. I sleep with a Woodstock (from Peanuts) plushie when I go to bed at night (along with a pillow of Chiyo-chan from Azumanga Daioh). As for plushies, I have a decent collection of anime/video game related plushies. My collection, in order of when I got them:
-Puchiko from DiGi Charat
-Nurse Shinobu from the RPG episode of Love Hina (now if they can just release a plushie version of Ken Akamatsu's other kawaii, mousy purplenette (not to mention Negi-sensei) :anime: )
-Shippo from Inu-Yasha (one of the few good things about the show IMO)
-Chiyo-chan from Azumanga Daioh (two actually: one in a kimono, the other in her fast food restaurant uniform from the manga)
-Mog from the Final Fantasy games
-Neko-Sakura from episode 8 of Cardcaptor Sakura
-Menchi from Excel Saga
-Carbuncle from Final Fantasy
-Osaka from Azumanga Daioh
-Lillith from Darkstalkers
-Momiji (bunny form) from Fruits Basket
-A ghost from Pac-Man

Creepy old thread!
There's a huge mass of stuffed animalia on the top shelf of my closet, and it hasn't moved since we moved into this house over ten years ago. Up there are several bunnies, a couple of Coke polar bears, a killer whale, a stegosaurus that my mother made for me, the entire Simpson family (1990 Burger King promotion...probably one of the first pieces of Simpsons merchandise ever), a stuffed ET that I was given on my first Christmas, and a gigantic brown rabbit which I always used to pretend was evil.
There's more up there, but I'm going from memory and what I can see up in the pile right now.

I don't have TONS of stiffed animals, but I do have a few. Most are homeade, like the teddy bear my Mom made me out of the handmade quilt my grandma made for me when I was a baby. I also have a bright red stuffed lobster about 2 1/2 feet long that my sister made for me.
My only commercially made plushies are a smallish teddy bear and a stuffed Anpanman toy I bought on Ebay (don't know Anpanman? he's a Japanese cartoon charecter).
I would really like stuffed animals of Silkie from Teen Titans and Appa from Avatar, but the toy manufacturers don't seem to be listening!

Although I am responsible for bringing home many many stuffed animals, it's only because I love playing that "claw machine" game at the arcade. Can I help it if I keep winning?
But the only stuffed animal I keep in my room is a teddy bear given to me by a dear friend, my "lil sis," and she hoped i would keep it in my room and take care of it... so i did.
