Atomic Betty DVDs by WHV in 2005 -

This is good news for me, while others may be partial to it. I was hoping for Atomic Betty DVDs, especially by WHV, my staple DVD producer, and they're coming!

Speculation: If Atomic Betty is under the wing of WHV, then they could have the right to release the show on some CN compilation DVDs, couldn't they? And maybe with this right, they could release never-before-seen episodes, seeing as how we're only getting two (11-minute) episodes a week.

Hopefully a Fotser's DVD won't be too far behind.

That owuld make a One-Two Puch.

Foster's and Atomic Betty have only three things in common: They air on CN, they're in WHV's jurisdiction, and they're flash-animated cartoons.

They probably won't be releasing any Foster's DVDs until at least 2006, unless they change the schedule.

You Missed only one thing, toonmaster: they have gotten spectacular ratings despite only airing on Cartoon Network for a ocuple of months.

Ah, that's pretty cool news. I've been enjoying Atomic Betty, and I'll probably take a look at these DVDs when they get released. Nice to see WHV getting active like this.

Ahhh, jesus. NO mean to be rude, but they release crap like this instead of Foster's. C'mon CN, get your shows out to good companys and get 'em releases DAMNIT!!!! But, for fans, this is really good news, since the show is still almost brand new. :anime:

Well, it's up to WBHV when to release CN originals and next year seems when they're releasing more.

Foster's is great, but Atomic Betty is far from being crap.

And I've been thinking. If they leased 52 episodes to WB, then maybe they'll release box sets. Because otherwise, they won't tackle every episode.

In the case of kids' shows, boxsets aren't in the eyes of WHV unless it aims older or is old and has a nostalgic value (see: Batman TAS, Superman TAS). For shows like Atomic Betty or Teen Titans, WHV aims at kids 2/6-11. This usually means mommy or daddy is going to by the DVD for their boy or girl, and a $30 boxset would be a bad idea because parents won't want to pay as much for a DVD if it's for their kid, so they keep the price much lower and do single DVDs so it becomes an easier buy.

Oh, and Zach Williams, give it a rest. We know you dislike Atomic Betty, which, by the way, isn't owned by CN, but you don't have to go around saying it in every thread that comes up about the subject.

It will get annoying, and you will be getting people on... the side where they're angry at you and don't reply to you (no offense). Just shape up.

Since I hate the show, I dont rarely even go to threads about it, so.......how would I be able to say it in every thread. And I went to this thread to see what the news is about. Oh, and I could give a crap if somebody is on my side or not. So, I guess your not on my side.

ANyway, yeah, I forgot CN doesnt own AB, so it has nothing to do with them. :)

ADD:At any rate, your constant bringing up of you not having cable in the future is annoying. yeah, this is a great post

Oh, well, I probably won't even have cable in December.

Thats a great thing to say, and I know I wont respond to that.

Not when the parent does not care about the collector's value. If they're buying as a gift or to placate their kids they want to have the cheapest option. They don't care if a DVD has five episodes or five hundred episodes.

Parents when I'm a parent hopefully will be much more educated about home entertainment decisions.

Even Without Box Sets, WHV should be able to put out a Decent Number OF EPisodes on Each Disc (The KND DVD has a good maount of episodes)

Ahh, peace at last. :p

yes, parents don't give a crap wether thers a million or one episode on a disc. They want to spend one dollar rather than 30. I think 6 episodes is a decent amount for a first DVD, gives the viewer a good feel of it.

Yeah, I'd end up buying it anyway. Oh, and I found the thread where I posted the unmentioned.

Yet another theory to toss: What if Breakthrough Animation wants WHV to produce box sets? Fifty-two episodes in two years and four collections doesn't sound like too much. And, we'd get to see eps before CN aired them, unless they decided to switch to a weekday run... on Miguzi (which they should consider).

The show only has thirteen episodes (full). If Breakthrough requests a season set, then maybe WHV will comply. And even so, they could only make two or three DVDs out of the show's first season.
