This week's animated releases are headed by Disney's special edition release of Mulan. Other animated titles include a pair of Dora the Explorer DVDs, I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown, and a collection of Sooper Hugest Missions from Codename: Kids Next Door.
Among this week's newer random releases are Johnny Knoxville's Grand Theft Parsons, In Enemy Hands, and the recent Spartacus miniseries. The most prominent recent theatrical releases are White Chicks and the remake of Dawn of the Dead, which is available in both rated and unrated versions. Dawn of the Dead is one of several horror movies coming out this week, alongside The Deadly Spawn, Frankenfish, Happy Birthday to Me, and a special edition of The Thing.
Sony's also adding more titles to their Superbit line -- Bad Boys II, Cliffhanger, Guns of Navarone, The Missing, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, S.W.A.T., and Underworld. To rattle off a few miscellaneous releases, there's Brain Donors, a special edition of The China Syndrome, the organ theft thriller Harvest, Jimmy Hollywood, the documentary Control Room, and Peter Jackson's mockumentary Forgotten Silver.
Finally, there's the usual onslaught of TV-on-DVD releases. Making their DVD debut are 21 Jump Street, Father Murphy, The OC, That '70s Show, Viva La Bam, and Wild Boyz. Another MST3K box is coming out this week, along with the fourth seasons of Dr. Quinn and Profiler as well as the sixth season of Little House on the Prairie.
For a list of some of the best prices as well as the latest price drops for existing titles, check Mike Frezon's weekly thread on the Home Theater Forum (http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htforum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=214967) and SalesCircular.com (http://www.salescircular.com/). A relatively comprehensive list of this week's releases can be found at DVD Talk (http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/bargain.php) and ComingSoon.net (http://www.comingsoon.net/dvd/).
So -- what are you getting this week? I have The Deadly Spawn in the mail, and I'm also picking up The Thing (been waiting for an anamorphic widescreen version) and the unrated Dawn of the Dead. I've also written a review of one of this week's releases, Happy Birthday to Me (http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=12811), if anyone's bored.
