I remember hearing, way back when, that once the last Zim DVD came out, a box (which looks like Zim's house) and a DVD of extras, such as recordings of incomplete episodes, storyboards, scripts, etc. would be released online only. I can't get Media Blasters' website to work for the life of me, and I absolutely don't want to miss out on it. Does anyone have any information?
Thanks very much
It'll be released mid-January at retail stores for about $30-$40 or so. It also comes with a special GIR figure.
The 7-DVD set (Which contains all 3 volumes of Zim + Extras + Box) also comes out then for about $100 or so.

Amazon has good pre-order deals on them. You can get them about 30% cheaper than the retail price I believe.

I appreciate how Media Blasters has had consideration for fans on this, rather than exploiting the fans for profit trying to get us to buy again what we already own just to get a bonus disc. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the first time a distributor has done something like this -- just for the fans?
I wish Warner Bros was doing that for The Matrix box set coming out in December, for those of us who've already bought all 3 movies, The Animatrix, and that Matrix Revisited disc.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the first time a distributor has done something like this -- just for the fans?Well, I'd throw the LotR:EE's in the "just for the fans" category, but if you mean boxes available seperate from the sets they contain, RightStuf.com does this from time to time, since most anime series used to come out by volume and then as a box set when the whole series was complete. Now they just release the first volume with an empty box
I can't get Media Blasters' website to work for the life of me, and I absolutely don't want to miss out on it.Yeah, and how about that Media Blasters website? The Pre-Order tab doesn't even work anymore. It's like they finally gave up (now that the entire series is out) only they were too lazy to remove the image or something. And one update to the Zim section per year? Thanks alot Media Blasters!
I have been pleased and impressed with the Zim Dvd's themselves, if not the packaging, and I am grateful to them for that, but their website is pretty shoddy. As far as I can tell, the front page is down, but the Zim section is working if you want to go there, here's the link:

I'm hoping to buy the 7 DVD set (with extras). I haven't bought any of the IZ volumes yet.

I'll be getting the one WITHOUT the DVDs, got em all. The Zim house sounds cool, and the bonus disc sound VERY PROMISING!!!!! Luckily, they decided not to just release one version with the dvds, bonus disc, toy, and zim house, but also one without DVDS!!! :D
:crying: It brings a tear to my eye. :crying:

I'll say the same thing I said to Suncoast when I wanted to buy Fushigi Yugi on DVD:
No cartoon series is worth paying that much.

I know it's been a while, but I just got an e-mail from Amazon.com about the Zim box (both versions) being delayed, and now their site says they come out on April 15, 2005. Does anyone know if that's a correct date and why on earth this is happening?
That delay was a while ago. Back in November, I think.
I dunno if it was confirmed, but the main rumor is that Media Blasters delayed it to put on the Uncut X-Mas episode.

Thanks. I just got the e-mail recently and don't pay attention to any zim communities or whatever.
Actually, after I posted this message I googled the box, and apparantly they're doing some sort of mixing on the audio with the pitches so they'll be like they should have been on the TV series. I am a bit annoyed it's been 3 months and they haven't said anything about the uncut episode problem, especially when they mention it on the cover. But some forum, god knows how accurate it is, had some poll about media blasters releasing the uncut version of the christmas episode on a mini DVD for $7. I sincerely hope that isn't the case, since I don't see why I should pay for their mistake.
