I'm pretty happy about all my Universal Monster Legacy Collections. Each one has different good qualities and shortcomings, so I sort of bunch them all together here. Some of the movie sequels are of questionable quality, but I still love having all those movies together on so few discs. I'm just a sucker for all the little additional things, too. I love the packaging they come in that has the monsters face and the overlay of part of the setting. I love the quotes written on the inside. Heck, even the sound effects during the menu screens get me. Hearing the Wolf Man's howl or the Invisible Man's maniacal laugh over the menu just seem awesome to me for some reason.
Runner up would have to be Superman: The Movie.

Runner up would have to be Superman: The Movie.
Before now, I've passed on this DVD because it was only a single-disc release, and I figured WHV was probably planning a CE release in conjunction with the upcoming movie.
But I had never paid attention to what the SE release had for bonus material -- most single-disc releases are rather light on content (is it a double-sided disc?), so I looked up a few reviews just now and it appears that it comes highly recommended. I'm definitely going to pick this one up soon. Thanks for the recommend.
My personal favorites are:
- LOTR expanded editions
- Toy Story: Ultimate Toy Box
- 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea
- Monty Python & The Holy Grail: CE
- Transformers season sets, for sheer nostalgia value even though the US releases are really lacking in bonus materials, and yet the UK gets tonnes of bonus content of bonus features with their releases. It just isn't fair. But I still love my Transformers DVDs, in spite of their lack of bonus content.

My Lotr Extended Editions. Best. DVD's. Ever. I'm counting down the days to Dec. 14...
Other favorites:
Beauty and the Beast Platinum Edition
Lion King Platinum Edition
Toy Story: Ultimate Toy Box
Both Harry Potter DVDs (although, I'd have liked more special features)

I also have to give some credit to the Prince of Egypt DVD. It's one of the first DVD's I owned (and my family had a DVD player pretty early) and I was just amazed at all of the special features on it. It basically sold me on the format
