A few Flintstone questions:
Which scene did Kenneth Muse animate in the Prowler?
Who animated Hot Lips Hannigan?
Which Season 1 Flintstones cartoons did Dick Lundy animate?
I'm asking these questions because I may get the Season 1 Flintstones DVD this Christmas.

[QUOTE=Frank]A few Flintstone questions:
Which scene did Kenneth Muse animate in the Prowler?
There was a brief scene in the middle of the episode (which is otherwise animated solely by George Nicholas) in which Barney's trying to boost a prowler-disguised Fred into the Flintstones' window. What's noticeable in the scene- besides the change in animator- was that Mel Blanc's deeper 'modern' Barney voice was heard rather than his original 'nasal' characterization. This is said to have something to do with Blanc's car accident- but where the change in animation fits into this, I have no idea.
Most of the first-season FLINTSTONE episodes- and many from the second season- only had one animator. It was most commonly Muse, Nicholas, Carlo Vinci, Ed Love or Don Patterson. Towards the end of the first season, it wasn't unusual for three or more animators to work on the same episode. "Rooms for Rent" and "Fred Flintstone: Before and After" were animated by six and fivepeople respectively! Season 4's first episode, "Ann-Margrock Presents" had seven animators!
Who animated Hot Lips Hannigan?
Entirely by Muse.
Which Season 1 Flintstones cartoons did Dick Lundy animate?
Lundy did all of "Sweepstakes Ticket", in which the 'nasal' Barney is still heard. Most people associate Lundy with the later, post-childbirth, years, so it's kind of bizarre. Lundy co-animated "Rooms for Rent" (notably the scenes where Fred breaks a plate over the college student boarder's head) along with Bill Keil, Muse, Nicholas, Patterson and Vinci. The first quarter of "The Good Scout" may have some Lundy animation (Dino fooling Fred by throwing him a stick; Barney unable to stand upright wearing his heavy backpack), but it also could be Ed Parks, whose style is similar.

I've noticed in the 1st season shows with a deeper-voiced Barney that the voice seems to gradually change, whereas the Blanc-voiced Barney in season two was fully-formed deep voiced. I don't know this as a fact, but it seems to me the deeper 1st-season ones may be pre-accident. They don't sound as fully deepened as the vocal track re-dos of '61-2.
It's one of those more transitionary deep voices in the Muse section of the episode. It's also noticeable that Muse's animation is the more developed animation from later s. 1 episodes than the rest of the show, which was obviously George Nicholas' first episode of the Flintstones. I don't know why the newer animation was included either. I do notice the obviously first shows by the animators are shown mixed in with later (but still high-voiced Barney-included) -animated ones. The Prowler is sequenced much later in the season (at least in reruns) than The Swimming Pool or Flintstone Flyer, but all look like their respective animators' first episodes.
Lundy's first, The Sweepstakes Ticket, is obviously animated later in the season. The look is more polished, and Barney's voice is in the middle of the transition from high to lower - nearer to the higher, relatively.

Hello, HB-fan Howie Fein!
I was reading your commentaries about the episode The Prowler, which's from the first season (1960-61) of The Flinstones (more exactly the scene where Fred appears disguised as a thief).
And I found on the Cartoon Network (Australia) site (http://www.cartoonnetwork.com.au (http://www.cartoonnetwork.com.au/)), the storyboards of this episode from The Flinstones, which brings this scene reported by you.
The storyboards that show this sequence from this episode, begin on this page: http://www.cartoonnetwork.com.au/asp/boomerang/Flintstones/storybrd/storybrd_p2_1.asp. It worths a while to visit this site! I recommend.
Well, that's it!
