hey everyone! i said i would try to do a sequel and i told the truth! if you are a newbie or just havn't checked out the second page yet you should know that this is the sequel to Goodbye but you really don't have to read it to understand(it would make me feel better if you did though). it would help if you were familiar with the show though. please feedback is much needed. enjoy!

Chapter1

For the first time in a while all the Titans were in the living room of Titans Tower, enjoying the temporary peace in Jump City. Cyborg had his head phones on and was wildly bobbing his head to the music only he could hear, Raven was reading one of her cryptic novels, and Robin was half watching T.V. and half watching Starfire and Beastboy play a game they had made up.

Robin grinned as Starfire, who was floating a few feet of the ground, did half a back-flip so she was on her hands. Then she lifted one of her hands toward the ceiling, twirled around and did a summersault so she was sitting cross-legged in the air. Now she looked at Beastboy with a smile that rarely spread itself across her face. It was a smile that had a challenge hidden in plain sight.

Beastboy smirked back before transforming into a monkey and immitating exactly what Starfire had done(only on the ground). When he was done he stoodup and bowed in his monkey form. This caused Starfire to erupt into a fit of laughter. Robin watched as she rosed a few more feet in the air and turned back to the T.V. with a smile.

It's good to hear her laugh after that Blackfire thing. he thought as he flipped through the channels. He settled on a special on World War 2. "As millions were marched through the city they were branded with a serial numberso the Nazi's could properly identify the people." the narrator said. Suddenly robin heard a THUMP and an "oof!"

He turned and saw Starfire sitting on the floor starring at the big screen T.V with a mixture on amazement and fear. Beastboy was rolling around on the floor, laughing. "You okay, Star?" Robin asked. Starfire jumped like she had been startled as her gaze flicked to her left arm. Then she looked back at Robin. "Y-yes. I am fine." she answered with a slight waver in her voice. It was a waver that only a person who truly knew her and happened to be listening closely. Fortunatly Robin, being her boyfriend, knew her enough. He was about to ask her if she was sure, but Beastboy interrupted him.

"I WIN! I WIN!" he was shouting. With a small smirk Starfire said the one word that had been said most at her home. "Rematch!" Robin hesitated and decided to let it go as the alarm went off.

"Let's go team! We've got some work to do at the docks!" Robin said. And with that they were out the door, but not before Starfire could readjust the metallic band on her left arm.


short. i know but that's just my style. please review. i'll put up chapter 2 as soon as i write it.

okay heres chapter 2. not much action.

chapter2
As Starfire flew toward Jump City she felt the same as she did everytime she was headed to a fight. Anticipation. Excitement. She had a feeling that her friends thought she hated to fight, and that wasn't the case at all.

The truth was that Starfire liked to fight. It came naturally and not many things did that for Starfire.

It doesn't make you feel stupid. she mused. Even before they... No. don't think about that. she commanded herself.

She had work to do. She was approching the docks and could hear Robin's motorcycle and Cyborg's car down below her. She opened her communicator.

"Okay guys. Split up and search." Robin said. "What are we looking for?" Raven's monotone said. "I'm not sure." Robin answered. Starfire flew right looking for a place to start her search. Spotting an alley she decided to start there. As she walked along the alley she heard a strange sound.

Crying?

She followed the sound to the end of the alley where she found a door. She pressed her ear against it. Yes it was comming from in there. She tried the door.

Locked.

Starfire raised a starbolt in her hand. Carefully she pressed her finger to the center of the knob. She was careful bcause shedidn't want to melt the whole knob. Just the lock inside. Quickly she grabbed the knob and turned it. It swung open and she walked in with a small smile.

She looked around. She was sure that the sound had come from in there. Then she spotted something lurking in the shadows. "Who is there?" she said cautiously. She walked to it. It was a man! He was huddled on the floor and was wimpering in pain.

"I have found someone!" the Tamaranian said quickly into her communicator. "He seems to be badly injured."

"Where are you?"She heard the Boy Wonder ask.

"I am in the fifth building on the right of the street we entered on."

"We'll be right there." came her reply. Then she turned her attention back to the man. She knelt down beside him as Robin and Beastboy burst through the door.

"We wish to help you. Please inform us as to who has done this to you." she said quietly. "It-it was a big skinny guy. Got mad after i couldn't give him information on a girl. Said she hadred hair and green eyes and..." he trailed off as he opened his eyes. By then Raven and Cyborg had gotten there and they had gathered around the man.

"You! He was looking for you! You have to get out of here! He wants to kil you!" He gasped, looking at Starfire. "Star, what is he talking about." Robin asked quietly. Starfire was trying to be calm.

There are many people who want to do my friends and I harm. There is nothing to prove that it is...him. She reasoned with herself.

"Please, did this man call the girl by a name?" she asked, ignoring the looks she was getting from her friends. "Yea. He called her Unatra." Starfire's eyes widened and she resisted the urge to repeat every swear word she had ever learned and thanks to Beastboy she knew quite a lot.

"Well that's a relief! That can't possibly be Starfire!" Beastboy excaimed. "No, Beastboy. It is me." she answered quietly. Hearing a creak behind her Starfire sprang into the air only to see a blur heading straight for her. It collided and pushed her back through the wall before Star could throw it off of her.

Panting and boiling with anger Starfire turned to face an enemy she thought was gone forever.

well it's not just minnesota. good news is that i got tomorrow off!! here's chapter3

chapter3

"Zyfron, what are you doing here?" Starfire growled.

"Now Unatra, I just have some unfinished bussiness to attend to." a tall cloaked man chuckled. Actually he couldn't be defined as a man. His claw-like hands and glowing eyes could not be mistaken for human.

He took a step toward Starfire. With a cry she hurled a starbolt just in front of him.

"Watch yourself Zyfron. There are very different rules now." She said quietly. The alien called Zyfron chuckled and Starfire was moved deeper into a fury unlike any other.

"So violent. Same as always. I expect you are just as rebellious and unpredictable. But as I said some bussiness needs to be taken care of , and that bussiness is you." he said getting serious, the humorus tone dropping from his voice. "You are my property and-"

"When was I ever your property?" Starfire demanded.

"When your mother sold you and the rest of you pathetic followers to me." he spat. "You are simply a failed experiment.You were nothing more, you are nothing more, and you will never be anything more." He took another step toward her.

"And how do you determine that? Is it because I do not push my face into the dirt when you walk into the room. Or maybe because I do not worship the foul air you breathe!" Starfire shouted taking a step in return.

"Insubordinate fool!" he roared.

"Filthy murderer!" Starfire retorted.

"I will make you pay for that."

"I would like to see you try!"

And with that they both leaped into the air and a furious battle began. Through all of this though The Titans were staring the two in amazement.

"Man, have you ever seen her so mad?" Beastboy asked in a dazed voice.
"Well there was that one time..." Cyborg started.
"I meant not at me!" he said annoyed.

"You have a good point. This guy has realy got her angry. But, why does he keep calling her Unatra?" Cyborg asked Robin. He shook his head, just as confused as the rest of his team. They fell into silence and watched the battle.

Zyfron's powers seemed identical to Starfire's except the bolts he produced were a dark orange. It also seemed that he had just as much practice at fighting as she did though he was much more brutal. If they had actually been thinking they probally have helped Starfire out , but they were entranced by her temper.

Finnally though Starfire managed to hit him witha high power beam knocking him to the ground. He stood shakily and glared at her.

"Well, this has been a cheery reunion however I must leave. Do not worry though Unatra. Failed experiments are not meant to walk any planet, and your time will come soon."

With that he swept into the air and pulled his cloak tight around him. Within an instant he had vanished and the Titans stood staring at the spot he had previously ocuppied.

"Uhh...well that tales care of that." Beastboy stuttered. Starfire turned and stared at them blankly, as if just noticing they were there. "I am going home." she said tears welling up in her eyes. Then she took off toward the Tower. Robin turned to his friends as Starfire dissapeared from view.

"Somethings up with Star. We need to try to help her. So, ummm...Raven?"
Raven nodded. "Azarath, Metrion, Zinthos!" she said as a dark bird enveloped the heroes and flew towards their home.

The titans soon appeared in the living room to see Starfire sitting on the couch, staring at an old photo with tears streaming down her face. As she spotted them she gasped and quickly hid it from view. She looked up at her friends.

"I apologize for leaving like I did. I just needed to..." She trailed off, her eyes flicking to the picture in her hand. "Star, it's okay." Robin said slipping his arm around her waist. "But you know we need to know, who was that guy and what was he talking about?" he asked.

Starfire sighed. She really didn't want to tell them. She had kept it a secret for so long that it would be painful to say it aloud. It would have to be done though. She was about to begin when Raven stopped her.

"This wouldn't happen to be a long complicated story that you will have to translate in to english?" she asked. Star nodded. "That wil take way too long. That guy looked serious and we need all the info ASAP. I have a much faster idea." she said walking over to Starfire.

"I can take us into your memories. I can even make them in english and make it so that you can tell us everything that's happening. The only problem is that neither you nor I will have total control over what we see. It will be very slight but enough to keep us on the right track. Sound good?" she said. Starfire nodded again.

In a few minutes Raven was ready and the rest of them were gathered in a cluster around her. "Everyone ready?" she asked as if she didn't even care. they all made various noise that signaled that they were. Raven placed her hands on each of Starfire's temples. Closing her eyes to block out all distractions she whispered, "Azarath Metrion Zinthos!" and with a flash the memories began.


so what do you think? i finished before i thought i would. and i think that chapter 4 should be up by some time next week. but be warned. it is much more complicated so in might take a while. see ya!!:D

sorry i've been gne for a while guys. school is starting to look like school again. anyway this chapter is very complicated.

here are a few things that are important

i couldn't think of a way to make the memory starfire different from the real starfire so you'll just have to bear with me. the titans can see each other in the memories and can see and hear everything that is happening. please enjoy.


chapter4

Flash!

The titans were standing in a grand hall. After looking around a bit they recognized it as the one that Starfire had almost gotten married in, but as they looked even more they noticed that a tall woman was sittingon the throne. Her skin was a tan color and her hair was red like Starfire's. Her eyes were brown and had a cold gaze to them. In the center of the room was a giant crowd of people somehow separated from the people lining the walls. A younger Starfire could be seen at the front of the crowd, glaring at the queen.

"That is my mother, Grand Ruler of Tamaran. She was a harsh and evil queen and was overtrown eventually. Before she was she sold about 200 of our people to the Sarians." Starfire explained. Then the giant doors leading into the hall opened and a different type of ailien, much bigger and fiercer looking, entered the hall. With one last glare Starfire turned her back on the queen and exited the hall.

Flash!

Now they saw Starfire sitting on a dirty stone floor in a dark room with a small girl in her lap. Many other people crowded the cell. They all seemed thin and sad.

"The little girl's name is Dreeta. I took care of her back then. It seemed to keed me sane, helping that little one. She was my litttle grenfore." Starfire said, her tone loving.

Suddenly a door opened and a guard entered. He grabbed Starfire roughly and jerked her to her feet. Dreeta tumbled wildlyto the floor and started to cry.

Seeing her tears (memory)Starfire's eyes widened and she said quickly, <Dreeta, please do not cry. You will not be harmed if you are good. I will leave you with Zyra to watch over you. Okay> She seemed to be pleading. The small girl sniffed a little andshuffled over to another girl.

Flash!

Big guards were holding a struggling Stafire, forcing her onto a metal table and strapping her in.

<Stop! Let me go!!> she commanded but it was no use.

"Star what's going on?"Robin asked, his eyes wide. "They are about to begin the experiment." Starfire said in a subdued voice. "What experiment?" Robin questioned further, though he knew the answer.

"The one that gave me my powers."

Flash!

<Sir it worked! The subject is still alive! And even greater, the procedure was a sucess!> an alien announced excitedly.

He was standing over an unconcious Starfire. THe person he was talking to was none other than Zyfron!

<Excellent.> He said holding up a glowing piece of metal. <This one is speacial. She is the first sucess in a long line of failures. The first life in a long line of deaths. The first. Number one. Unatra.> and with that he pressed the searing metal into her left arm.

Flash!

Starfire was sitting in the center of a large dark room. She was under a single spotlight and glaring straight into the darkness.

<Unatra this is the fourth time this week that you have been sent to me. Using the power we gave you against us, well that is not acceptable. You know the procedure. Bow to me and and maybe it will go faster this time.> said a cold voice.

Starfire said nothing and didn't move. Suddenly Zyfron appeared in front of her and punch her to the ground. As se fell back her face caught the light and the bruises that covered her face could be seen clearly.

<You will learn the propper respect!> Zyfron spat. <One way or another.> The lights of the chamber were then flipped on and Dreeta could be seen being held by a soldier.

<Dreeta> Starfire whispered. <Yes we noticed that you were particularly attached to this one. So bow or she wil die.> he said with a startling calm. Starfire's eyes were darting from Zyfron to Dreeta.

<Let her go.> she said.

<Give up.>

<Never!>

<Then say goodbye!> he shouted.

<NO!> she started to fly toward te two, but Zyfron jumped on her and held her down. She struggled but failed.

<Dreeta come to me. NOW!> Dreeta lifted her hand and a purple light engulfed the small palm. She pressed the hand into the soldier's arm. He jerked his arm back swearing loudly. He lifted his other hand and aimed straight at Dreeta's head. She was flying as fast as she could toward Starfire.

<Fire you fool!> Zyfron screeched.

<Hurry Dreeta!> Starfire yelled. The soldier had fired the black light at the tip of his finger and it was flying straight at it's target. The girl whipped around just in time the let out a terrified scream.

Boom!

<No!>

"No."

Back in the real world Starfire's eyes snapped open with a gasp and a wail. Her legs finally gave way as the rest of the titans were jerked back from the horrific memory that was Starfire's.

well, that was a wild plot! I didn't expect Starfire to have a sad past because she's so happy all the time. Hmm, thats a real good idea. I think I might hint at a sad past for her in my fic now. Is that cool if I borrow your idea?

Question tho-If she got her powers from experiments, why did Blackfire have them? And did Dreeta have powers too? Where did she get them?
More question marks?????

1. i promise i will clarify all of those things reid, but it will be in the next chapter. you see the memories really weren't over. there were actually many more important things that would have been covered but seeing dreeta again like that was just too much. if that was confusing then it won't be in the story.

Chapter5
“Starfire are you all right?” Raven asked sounding genuinely concerned. She knelt down beside her friend. “Don’t ever do that again, Starfire!” she said sternly. “You could have killed yourself breaking a spell like that!” Starfire only hung her head lower. Raven took this to mean she was sorry but that didn’t stop her from going on. Raven had been disturbed by what she had seen in Starfire’s past. Somehow all of her worst emotions came out as anger. “Promise you will never do that again.” Raven commanded.



“I promise.” Starfire said quietly.



“I can’t believe you would be so stupid. You need to control your emotions.”



Now Starfire had had enough. She pushed herself up from the floor and stalked toward the exit mumbling to herself in Tamaranian. “Star? Where are you going? I still don’t get some stuff.” Beastboy complained. Starfire whirled around and glared at him. He backed off instantly. You never mess with an angry titan and the happy Starfire was no exception. She pointed at an old table in the corner of the room. “I believe you will find al you need in there. Good night.” And with that Starfire disappeared into the dark hallway. Cyborg opened the drawer on the table and found a large leather bound book. “This must be what Starfire was talking about.” he opened the book, “Only problem is it’s in Tamaranian.”

“I can read it” Raven said. Her hood was placed back on her head and her face was shadowed. Without another word she took the book sat down and started to read.



“The princesses Koriand’r and Kormand’r returned to Tamaran along with most of their subjects. Only four people were killed during the rebellion the youngest of which was an orphan called Dreeta. She was the first to be killed and sparked the three-day rebellion.



When they finally found themselves back on their home planet it was discovered that the Tamaranian process of transformation enhanced the power that had been forced upon them. The power was also transferred to newborn infants.



It was soon after this that the Sarians returned to Tamaran. They demanded the return of their captors. The Grand Ruler of Tamaran refused and a furious war began. In the middle of this war the victims were scattered across the universe. The princess Koriand’r currently resides on the planet earth and goes by the human name ‘Starfire’” Raven stopped here and looked at her wide mouthed friends.



“Orphan?” Cyborg asked shocked.

“Starfire was sent away in the middle of a war? No wonder when we first met her she was so nervous.” Beastboy exclaimed. Raven carefully replaced the book to it’s rightful place.



“This is too much for one night. I think we all need some sleep.” Cyborg said. Everyone else agreed and headed for their rooms. That is except Robin. He mounted the stairs he knew so well by now having done so with Starfire many times before. As he opened the door he saw Starfire and sat beside her. She looked at him knowingly. She had expected him. He studied her face. He remembered the bruises that covered her in that memory. The bruises that had disappeared in a few minutes; the one that had gone in a few years. “How Star? How are you so happy when your past…Your past is so sad.” He whispered.



Starfire looked back at the water thinking about her answer. Finally she turned to face him.



“If only I knew.”

i was talking about the end of the chapter
in no way am i done with thiis fic
only problem is that writer's block has reared it's ugly head

it took me forever to post because my homework was piling up and my ideas started to suck and i gave up and the pookey helped and so i typed up the next chapter but it got deleted then i couldn't go on the next day because my mom thinks i am addicted to the internet so now can go on about every other day and hten i typed it up and i had to spell check because reid might read it... that's about it.

I don't simply mean on this forum, I mean in the entire world. That's not mere hyperbole: pretty much every single chapter in both fics made me want to cry, and, as all those who know me can attest, making me cry takes a lot of doing. Quite frankly, anyone who can tear my heart strings to shreds with every single sentence that they write will get my automatic respect.

So, providing you can start posting longer chapters - and indeed longer stories - I may just have to start worshipping you. If that shounds creepy, then sorry: I just wanted to demonstrate just how in awe of your talents I really am.

Chapter6

Raven slowly made her way back to her room. Her hood was up; her head was down; her mind was deep in thought. Her thoughts went something like this.



That could not have been true. Everything that I just learned…it couldn’t have anything to do with Starfire. That girl who bounces around our house with that goofy smile on her face cannot be the same girl who was enslaved at thirteen.



She was angry. She wasn’t angry with Zyfron for causing her friend pain. She wasn’t mad at Starfire for her earlier outburst. She was angry with herself for doing the one thing she hated most of all in this world: assumed.



People assumed that Raven was creepy and dark and unapproachable and she hated them for it. Then she, Raven, just assumed that Starfire was a spoiled, pampered princess; assumed that Starfire’s past had been filled with rainbows and sugar plum fairies. She frowned as she reached her door.



She entered and sat quietly on her bed, reflecting the night’s event, hoping to make sense of it all. Starfire’s past was surprisingly dark. Starfire herself was surprisingly happy. To Raven it just didn’t add up. She caught sight of her mirror sitting on her dresser. The demon she was forced to call father floated into her mind.



Pain. Pain. Pain. That was all she cared to remember of Trigon. But Raven’s childhood had left her scarred and closed off to the world, her hood as hr gateway. “Tanning is for idiots,” or “My hood is comfortable, so I wear it.” Those were the excuses she might give you. But Raven knew that her hood was in actuality a shield from the world, a shield from the pain.



Yet Starfire had had an equally traumatic past. It was even a bit similar to Raven’s. Raven’s father was cause of her distress and Starfire’s mother was the cause of hers. Raven couldn’t imagine that. In her childhood her mother was her salvation. As cliché as it was she was her light. There was no other way of describing it. To have a mother who hates you and would sell you into slavery…how could anyone bear it? But the weirdest thing was that Starfire did not only bear it but she surpassed it. Her past was one to rival Raven’s and she was so happy it was almost scary. Slowly her thinking gave way to meditation and Raven, without thinking, found herself amidst her friends’ emotions.



Cyborg was pacing his room in his “big brother” mode. Raven understood this. His “little sis” was not as she appeared and the difference could mean life or death. Beastboy was overwhelmed and just wanted to go to sleep. Raven under stood this too. It was not that he was selfish and didn’t want to worry, but Beastboy couldn’t change what happened to her. He wasn’t going to waste energy worrying over something that couldn’t be fixed when he could use it when it was more useful. Robin’s emotions were the clearest of all. He was confused. It was almost as if Robin’s emotions had waged battle on each other. One second he would be filled with worry and the next he would be calm and exceptive. Raven could almost hear him arguing with himself. Starfire was… not there.



Instantly Raven was alert. She knew Starfire well and this meant only the worse. She teleported into Starfire’s room and looked around franticly.



Wait! She commanded herself. I’m being paranoid. Star is probably in the bathroom.



She was about to teleport out of her room when she caught sight of a piece of paper on Starfire’s desk. More specifically she caught sight of the words “be back soon” on the piece of paper. Quickly she teleported out of the room and into the hall in front of robin’s room. In his room robin was sleeping fitfully. His tossing was interrupted as a forceful voice intruded on his thoughts.



‘Open your door!’



“It’s late, Raven.” He mumbled.



‘I. Said. Open. This. Door!’ she responded. Every syllable trembled with rage and worry. Robin decided to do what she said. And quickly.



“What is it?” Robin opened his door to see an extremely nervous Raven. “Starfire’s leaving.”



“WHA-” robin was cut off as Raven transported them to the roof. Starfire was just lifting off, her backpack heavy on her shoulders. Robin scrambled forward quickly he jumped over the edge of the tower hoping to catch her boot, just as he’d done when the Centari police were trying to take her away.



This time he wasn’t so lucky.



“STARFIRRRRRRE!!” he screamed as he plummeted to the ground. Starfire turned quickly. With a gasp she darted after him catching him on the way down. “What were you doing jumping off the tower like that?!” she scolded. “Trying to get your attention?” he answered sheepishly. “You will NOT scare me like that again!” she commanded slapping his shoulder. “Oww! It worked didn’t it!” he defended himself, backing away from her anger. “Besides I wasn’t exactly thinking clearly. You were trying to run away. Without even saying goodbye, I might add.” At this Starfire looked down in shame. “Where were you going anyway?” Raven asked. Starfire mumbled something that sounded like Tamaran. “Tamaran? Why?”



“Maybe we need to get the others.” Raven said. I have a feeling that this will be important.



Soon the titans had gathered n the living room awaiting an explanation. Starfire sighed. She shouldn’t have really thought that she would be able to sneak away. Between a telepathic friend and a sensing boyfriend her chances of escape were slim. “So spill Star.” Cyborg prodded.



“While Zyfron was here, torturing me, the rest of his race was gathering in the space around Tamaran. They have declared another war. Tamaran has declared a state of emergency. I have been summoned to assist my planet.” She said matter-of-factly.



“Why do you need to go? You told them you didn’t want to be queen.” Beastboy asked. “I did decline the throne, but I am still princess. By law I only said I did not want the throne at that time. If Galifore were to die I would be recruited, though I still would not choose to rule.” Her friends nodded at this.



“Well why didn’t you just say that before?” Raven asked the one question that everyone wanted to know. “I did not want you to be dragged in.” was Starfire’s soft reply. “Star that’s sweet of you but we need to make the decision whether we want to go with you.” Raven said. “Together.” There was a murmur of agreement.



“So what do ya say guys? Anyone up for a trip to Tamaran?” Beastboy said. A chorus of yeah!’s came back at him. They looked at Starfire eagerly.



“If you truly want to come I thank you with all of my heart, but… I have to warn you. Zyfron and his followers are fierce fighters. It is very likely that it will be war.” She cautioned slowly. She looked away. She was sure her eyes begged them to come. She wanted to beg them now, but she couldn’t and she wouldn’t. Her friends did not deserve war.



“Star?” She looked up at the comforting voice. “We’re right behind you.” Robin smirked at her. She smiled fully at him and then at all of her friends. Cyborg nodded and got up. “I’d better go get the ship ready.” He said and was off to the garage. Robin and Beastboy left to start packing. Raven was about to follow them when Starfire stopped her.



“Raven? I just wanted to apologize for being angry with you earlier today. Am I forgiven?” Raven turned and regarded her a moment. “Sure Star. It’s no problem. I know how it feels to be angry.” She turned to leave but before se was out the door she said to Starfire with her back still turned,



“I’m sorry too.”

Chapter6

Cyborg looked out of his window. Through the glass dome he could just make out a pale green light. He scowled. “No one is faster than my baby,” he growled and then put on the gas. Beastboy was almost choking from laughing so much. The look on Cyborg’s face when Starfire told them she would fly outside the ship, priceless.

“Why do you want to fly out side in the vacuum of space again?! You’ll freaking die!!” Beastboy practically shouted at Starfire. She stood before them calmly and waited for Beastboy to calm down.



“No I will not. I may breathe in space; you know that. And I must fly outside of the ship because it will be safer. Tamaran is on the brink of war. If a strange ship were to suddenly enter the atmosphere it is likely that they would shoot first. I will be able to get us passed the line of defense in space.” She explained patiently.



“But what do we do when we get there first?” Cyborg asked with a straight face.



“First?” Starfire asked.



“Well yeah. I mean we’ll probably go a lot faster than you. The minimum on this baby is 2,500 mile per hour.” Starfire’s forehead wrinkled a moment.



“How many kilometer is that?” she asked never to be one who was good at earth math. “About 1,550.” Cyborg said in a cocky voice. Starfire nodded.



“And what is the maximum speed?” she asked politely.



“Uh, 6,000 miles,” Cyborg said, looking confused.



Starfire made a face.



“3,720”



Starfire smiled. “Then we have nothing to worry about.” She told Cyborg happily. “Say What?! How fast can you go?!” Cyborg exclaimed outraged.



“Roughly 5,000 kilometers.” She responded smoothly. Cyborg’s mouth dropped open at the same instant that Beastboy dropped to the floor, laughing hysterically.

Beastboy opened his eyes in time to see Starfire appear on their left side gliding smoothly on her back. She had been doing that ever since the left. One minute she would be miles away, and then out of nowhere she would pop up. Beastboy was positive that Starfire could fly a great deal faster than she had told Cyborg. The only thing he didn’t know was weather or not she told him that on purpose



“Cyborg, what is the purpose of going so fast? We are almost there.” She spoke into her headset.



“Nothin’” he replied, sounding like a sulking child. Starfire shrugged and dropped back a few feet while turning lazily on her stomach. “So I take it, you like flying out here.” Raven said, taking her attention off of the pouting Cyborg in the front seat.



“Oh yes. Space is very ni-” she stopped. “We are here.” As soon as she said that the planet Tamaran loomed into view. From space there was only one-way to describe the planet: creepy, though no one would dare say that to Starfire’s face. The majority of its surface was a pale white. Drips of red ran down its surface as if the planet itself was bleeding.



“Slow down!” came a burly voice from nowhere. “Approaching ship, you will follow one of two procedures. One: you will leave this space now. Two: you will identify yourself.” The ‘voce from nowhere’ was actually a communication link coming from a nearby ship. The ship was a sci fi freak’s dream, the true form of a flying saucer. The metal was a dark green and a row of spotlights were zeroing in on the T-ship.



“You have ten seconds to do one of these or you will be shot with full power. Ten.” The authoritive voice continued to count down.



“Wait! We’re friends. Here to help. We know Starfire the princess!” Beastboy shouted frantically.



“No you idiot! That’s not her name here! Isn’t it Cory or something?” Cyborg shouted back. “Five,” was all the ship said.



“Oh great. Where’s Starfire when you need-” Starfire appeared in front of with a starbolt raised in her hand. “-her.” The ship instantly powered down, but Starfire didn’t and instead narrowed her eyes. “Who are you?” she called.



“Star, what are you doing? Aren’t these guys your guard?” Raven asked. “No. That is not a Tamaranian ship.” Starfire said slowly. Suddenly and without any warning the ship fired a quick blast. Cyborg gassed the engine and was able to avoid the shot. Starfire wasn’t so lucky. “Star!” Robin cried as her limp body flew through space. Starfire shook herself alert. Recovering from the small blast she returned fire.



Raven (who was in charge of weapons) charged their lasers and prepared to fire. No sooner than the lasers reached full power did about ten more ships appear. It was simply too much for a well put together ship and a Tamaranian to handle.



“We can’t fight this!” Robin complained.



“You are correct. You need a decoy.” Starfire said dodging through the air. “I will distract them and you will enter Tamaran’s atmosphere. If anyone stops you tell them you are the friends of princess Koriand’r.”



“Koriand’r! See I was right!”



“Starfire what about you?” Robin asked concerned. “As you say on earth: I’ll manage.” Starfire then zoomed off, fast enough to be a challenge, but slow enough to think that you could catch her. As soon as the other ships were out of site Cyborg began the decent to the Tamaranian surface. From space it was creepy. On the surface it was down right depressing. It was practically barren with patches of rock here and there. Nowhere was there a sprig of grass or a patch of flowers. Robin couldn’t blame Starfire for loving Earth.



They touched down right in front of the castle. Robin instantly opened his hatch and looked up at the night sky. Bursts of light were raining down on them. They were even in different shapes. In fact they looked exactly like…



“Fireworks!” Beastboy yelled happily.



“Those aren’t fireworks! Their laser blasts! Starfire is up there in them; we need to help her!” Robin said still gazing at the sky.



“Yeah well I think we should help ourselves first.” Raven said dryly. “Huh? What are you-” Robin was cut off by the immense blade in his face.



“Who are you, stranger?” said the soldier holding the blade. Sheets of steel lined his shoulders, arms, legs and torso. On his feet were boot made of thick leather. He was tall, a few inches taller than Robin. His eyes were green like Starfire’s but his hair was dark brown. He stared at Robin with a fierce intensity as if trying to stare an answer out of him.



“I-I am Robin, leader of the teen titans. The princess Koriand’r is our friend and brought us to help with the war,” Robin stated with a semi-level voice. The soldier’s eyes widened in shock his time, but he didn’t put his weapon away. “If you came with the princess then where is she?” he responded.



“Well uhh, she was right behind us.” Beastboy laughed nervously.



“You lie. The princess did not accompany you. Tell us the truth.”



“No really! She did come with us!” Cyborg yelled. “Oh really well if you are telling the truth then she will be here in the next five-” At that moment Starfire appeared in the sky and flew down to land beside Robin. “Is there a problem?” she asked innocently.



“Dang, Starfire. That’s twice now that you’ve appeared at the last second. Having an off day?” Cyborg teased. “More like we’re having a lucky one,” Beastboy said back.



Starfire chose to ignore them and instead cocked her head. “Carp’thain, what is wrong? Would you please lower your weapon?”



“Yes, princess. We were only following orders, but we beg pardon of you and your friends,” He mumbled putting the large spear point down. Starfire dismissed this with a wave of her hand and a forgiving smile.



“Think not of it. We know times are hard. I only ask that you would not be so formal. You know I do not like to be called princess.” She said winkling her nose.



The soldier smiled a weathered smile. “Yes, I remember my not-princess.” Starfire giggled lightly. “Galifore is expecting us. We must depart.”



Carp’thain nodded. “Please greet Zyra for me.” He requested.



“Zyra has arrived already?”



“Oh yes. She arrived earlier today. Right after…” Starfire didn’t hear the last part. She sensed something that made her stomach tie up in knots. She snapped her head up so she was looking at the castle.



“Blackfire?”
