Why did Kikyo give the jewel shards to Naraku? I don't understand her reason.

I can understand everyone else but not her.

Kikyou wants Naraku to get all the jewel shards. After he gets all of them she will be able to kill him. Kikyou talked about it a little bit at the end of Monday's episode.

Very later on in the show, in the manga it was recently revealed that....

Kikyou is going to destory his Naraku the moment he gets all the shards and complete the jewel by destorying his soul. So there is a reason for her to give him Kagome's shards.

Why would she require the jewel to be whole to destroy him? If he gets all the shards he'll be unstopably strong. She realized he's just a half-demon. Would destroying him like this be much easier for her? I think she's delusional on this point.

She didn't do that because of leaving a jewel shard in the modern era wouldn't complete the jewel unless Naraku waits for 500 years

I guess she doesn't care if koga, kohaku get hurt or if kagome is trapped in the past forever (I don't care about the jewel/time travel well thing is true or not)

That doesnt' make very much sense... Okay please don't use the movies in arguments. They aren't considered canon and they have many plotholes that make a mess out of everything.

I doubt Kikyou cares about any of them getting hurt since she has such a strong desire for revenge.

Also about Kagome being trapped in the past forever...

Kagome doesn't need jewel shards to travel through the well through time. In later episodes Kagome loses ALL of her shards but she can still go home.

I'm not too sure about what she is going to do exactly but maybe she was worried that she wouldn't be able to beat him so she is using the jewel. From what Kikyou said to Inuyasha, I think she believes that once the jewel is completed, Naraku with absorb it into his very being, and when he does that, she will use all her holy power to purify the jewel, purifying and thereby destroying Naraku's soul. It doesn't really seem like the best plan to me, as I would think that destroying the baby while Naraku is still dependent on it (as in, before he completes the jewel and can break his link with Onigumo's soul) instead of the risky purification at the moment Naraku is becoming ridiculously powerful would be the best option.
