This is a really good movie. :)

It's a great, powerful, moving, and depressing movie...

The Hughes Brothers made a very powerful directorial debut with this! :)

The violence and swearing start right from the beginning but don't stop...but that's what makes the movie realistic. :)

The ending is really sad...

Especially since Caine was finally going to get out of the ghetto...but if he were alive he still would've been screwed because it showed...I think his name was Chauncey about to mail the robbery tape to the police but going to jail would've been as worse as dying, though maybe the same to Caine because if he were sentenced to however many years in jail that means that he would not get to see Ronnie or her boy until he got out... Hope I made sense...

I gave this movie ***** outta *****! :)

(BTW, I wasn't sure if I should put Samuel L. Jackson in the Starring credits because he's only in the beginning of the movie, in the flashback to Caine's childhood...and I wasn't sure to put Smith after Jada Pinkett Smith because when she was in this movie she was only Jada Pinkett... )

Also, I noticed when I first saw the movie that the grandfather and grandmother looked familiar and my first thought that the grandfather looked like the old man from the Good Times episode "A Place To Die" and the grandmother I had seen on Good Times also. :D (I was right on the both of them...I checked IMDB and I was dead on with the actor who played the grandfather, he was the character who I thought he played...and the actress who played the grandmother, she starred as Bookman's wife on Good Times too! :) Just felt like saying that.... )
