Hot damn, this game is good.
Honestly, Sucker Punch really did a great effort to make some real improvements. While the first was fun, I felt it was a bit overrated so far as all the nonstop critical praise was concerned (Adam Sessler, it is not the best game ever. SHUT UP.). Here, things just work. All three characters provide very different play styles and mechanics, the story is a lot more ongoing and engaging, the missions have more variety to them, the horseshoe system has been dumped for a traditional health meter (Thank God), and there's less an emphasis on collecting. Not to mention the fact that it is thankfully much, much longer. My only real complaint is that each world so far seems to provide the same three basic enemy types (Strong flashlight guard, average fighter, projectile fighter- a la the heroes themselves) only with cosmetic changes.
Anyone who enjoyed the first one or platformers of any kind should definitely try this.
